As if it wasn’t easy enough, it just got even easier. Logan5 has coded quick application (Windows only), that allows you to bypass the PS3 firmware check.
Very easy to do and setup, you can grab it via download link below:

So how does this work? Do I just open the program on my computer, enter my ps3's IP and hit stop proxy?
Is there a tutorial available for the entire step-by-step process?
Thanks

If an OCX file is missing download it then use REGSVR32 in cmd.exe to register the file

*CORRECTION*
Leave firmware update unchecked or you will be asked to update. First time I tried signing in I was booted out so I uncheck it and it worked flawlessly

This program was made, to make it as simple as possible, and you are still asking for a tutoriul.
great and simple program, Ill test it when I get back home.
My ps3proxy program got blocked in an earlier FW update, funny some seem to still being able to use the program - so this is perfect. Thumbs up!

Seems like it's not working as of July 1, instead of 2.80 popping up in the update version it's still 2.76 and in the ps3 it quickly shows a 8002A212 error when trying to sign in.
This guy has the same problem: http://www.*******.com/forums/ps3-on...tml#post265707
I guess this will affect all proxy bypass users...

No... you can't even connect to the PSN. Prior to July 1 (after 2.80 firmware), the tool still worked, however there was an update to the playstation store on July 1 and now we can't connect to PSN. This applies to proxy gui bypass users as well.
Here is a youtube vid link that someone posted that has the same problem: YouTube - PS3 Login error + some pointers
Btw, my FW is 2.60
