    PS3 Hacks, PSP Hacks , 08.05.2009

    Well it certainly was no lie, a week ago we told you about a hacker by the name of Dashhacker who had managed to reverse engineer the PS3 remote play feature, today he has released his first beta version of his application. Right now it is for only MAC’s (Intel based), PC version is expected next week. So those who are new to this, what does it do? Basically you can now control your PS3 via laptop, iPhone, pretty much most hand held devices/PDA’s . Currently for this you need a MAC (intel based) computer, and a hacked PSP to export remote play settings.

      wow really the mac version came out before the pc version... lulz
      I mean really who has a mac? 95% people have a pc!

      Just tested it on my hackintosh and it really works. The only problem I had with it was that I had to move the window around continuously with my mouse in order for the video to work right.

      A week for the pc version, come on it's not sad, it's dramatic, and we really need a psp with cfw, I don't have a psp anymore, a friend has but it's on ofw. It's a real pain to find that you need to own a psp, anyways it's a great job, thanks for releasing it and we wait for the pc version sooner :-<

      at least it got released, so it shows he wasn't full of sh.t, who cares if a mac got it first, a simple thought on your part should have been maybe he owns a mactel.

      Its remote play, so it would seem obvious that a PSP is needed,

      Remote Play hasn't been hacked as such, it more of a network bypass, (a bit like a proxy - or a Dns hack) we are just forwarding on the details used by the PSP in its network traffic to another machine (MAC or soon to be PC)
      Quite clever really.

      wow this is kind of awesome, i wonder if i can get it to work on my g4 since PMS said i needed an intel mac but i can still use it
      .......

      Quite tempted to install OSx86 on my PC to try this but I think I'll wait...

      Ohh and I need to borrow a hacked PSP ¬_¬

      Word of caution, the next update to come out should be avoided at first in case sony try to block this "hack".

      Of course there is little point but we all know what sony's marketing department is like (even though this is a benefit to consumers).

      I hope we get linux binaries or the source for this
      I doubt Wine can run the Windows version on linux

      lucky for the people having a PSP.. I'll have to get my hands on a hacked one in time of the pc app launch :P

      Great job by dashhacker, finally someone has been posting updates and news before release without being fake, he has been setting a good example which others could learn of

      Agree'd and to add, sony wont like this because they're not profiting from it, and it could lead to further exploits, whereas if sony had released it, it would be secured to the max, and no source could would ever be released, (or even mentioned for that matter)

      WOW !! But I have not a PSP to try it there s another way to prove it without psp ?!
