Sinnerman has leaked images of the PS3 JIG, and reveals that he and StreetskaterFU are testing the PS3 Service Mode. Not much information (or results) are available yet, but this is a sign of hope for homebrew on the PS3 after a very long time. The picture below is used to create registry files to finilze the PS3 JIG process (SVC-H3A306SS).

I really hope, that SKFU will be a part of the final REAL breakthrough, he really deserves it

And Sinnerman? only thing I have to say is.... AMAZING

We must not forget though, that nothing actually has been achieved yet...

You know it's funny. I've been following the ps3 public homebrew scene essentially since the ps3 came out, and I guess within the past year I can honestly say I've stopped caring. Gone from checking ps3hax once a week or so, to checking once every couple months. I hope this leads to something, but I agree with the above poster, I hope that SKFU has a big hand in this, because he's been working hard and long. He deserves it.

I hope this leads to something....I honestly do....whether it does however is a completely different question.

Still, as long as people try there is still hope, after all it took 2-3 years for homebrew on the ipod nano 2g (its the first encrypted model).

if i`m right this means that these guys can get authentication from the website you guys found a while back in the beginning of this year before Cex and Dex was revealed to the public. So from now on we can move into service mode and get out of service mode whenever we want to ?

That image (or rather the program it depicts) doesnt look like anything you'd expect a professional company like $ony to use in-house.

There are countless grammatical errors; so many that it just looks fake.

The image is badly stretched (You'd have to TRY to make it stretch or do it by accident in an image editing program). This leaves me to belive that this is a pretty poor attempt at a prank.

If the user who obtained this image can understand how to (Bearing in mind he/she 'claims to work for $ony...):-

      1. Use the ' Print Screen' button on his/her keyboard, and paste the image into Paint.

      2. Use the 'Rectangle Tool' to black out some text.

      3. Simply highlight the program window on the image (if it IS a program).

      4. Copy and paste the highlighted area into another mspaint file.

then the user should be able to give us a decent image without poorly stretching the bloody thing..... FAKE.

There is no need to be rude in your comment on this, fair enough you think it may be fake, but please dont presume that the person that posted the pics cant spell, and doesnt know how to use paint or a similar application, I can assure you the poster does know how to spell, and can use an editor, the grammatical errors are more likely from the app being translated from chinese/japenese to english for regional purposes,

The spelling is pretty accurate, although its the use of capital letters that bugs me IMHO.....

I didnt mean to offend, just stating the fact that the use of capital letters in the screenshot (and the fact that the screenshot is stretched no less), isn't typical of a multi million £ company. I work in industry, and I KNOW that if I created a referential program or proceedure I would get bollocked for creating one like that lol.

      1 of 2 things: -

      1. The picture is Fake. - Period.
      2. $ony's application development team cant code a program with correct grammar. - This is Real! (I hope so lol)

Hmmm.....just sharing my observations with you all, I mean no offense! :P

      1. You don't know if the picture is fake . you are just assuming it.
      2. It wasn't meant for public use, only for internal, and as it has probably just been translated quickly, what does it matter?

I am promising that it is real, but SKFU is legit, and he has confirmed it to be legit, and unless he (VERY UNLIKELY) can't spot a fake program, then I would go so far as saying that I'm certain it is real

I think that what we should be discussing here is, will SKFU accomplish anything with this, i don't think that is hard and i think he can take advantages from this tool, and a more important question, will SKFU ever release his accomplishments? that is what I really doubt, and i am not attacking anyone here, but when he found a way to run old games from hd or whatever it was, he never released anything saying it was dificult to do, hell i don't care if it is dificult or not i like to try new things.
So I ask you SKFU if you managed to find anything please release it so we can all try it out.
(I am not trying to begin a flame war)
Oh and by the way I know SKFU has not been around the forums but has been on IRC so if you guys can please ask him some more info

If this program allows the PS3 to be hacked, then it's for homebrew, I'm sure SKFU isn't hacking it to play backup copies of games.
And there are many software leaks, hacks, and cracks, but I never see those doing them in jail.

Please stop posting calling it a fake Grock, I think we are clear on the fact you dont think its real, but until it is confirmed either way please let that be and end to it, If it is fake then so be it, but if it isnt this sort of thing is extremely discouraging and will only lead to any news on it being released elsewhere first,

I'm unconvinced. It looks like it's coded in Visual Basic by some looser try to make people believe he has it. Grammatical errors.
Somehow I doubt that the PS3 can be restored and accessed with some terribly coded VB application.

I dont want to be the guy screaming fake but you do bring up a good point. Maybe the app was coded by a person that has more knowledge about technology than reading and writing. Please take into consideration that this app was whipped up in a matter of a few minutes. I do understand you though. I dont understand why an app was coded in VB for this type of task. C++ should have been the way to go here.

Then stop buying games consoles, sell your PS3 or give it to charity, people who rip off games are lamers, who have no understanding of the time and effort that is put into making a game, games are not expensive, they are quite cheap.

And if people in the past, actually bought the games, instead of copying and downloading them, hey would have been even cheaper. So if you haven't got enough money to buy them, then don't, but don't go bit*hing about it on internet forums.

Dude plz wake up!!!! you hate spending money on games??? so why have you bought the machine in the first place???? are you kiddin me?? they are expensive?? buy it used! wait 6 months and then buy it! most of us here want the machine to be unlocked so we can explore it, messing arround with it, and make it better than what it already is...
we don't care for iso loaders (most people here at least) so if you want an iso loader, hack the machine yourself and build an iso loader for it show it on youtubez and have fun!

well actions speak louder than words, and in the past SKFU HAS been working on ways to play ps3 game backups, via his unreleased methods and his youtube video showing motorstorm as a proxy disc. becides u cant code homebrew for a locked down system, and i doubt skfu is working on a homebrew game befor he (hopefully) unlocks the PS3.

about leaks, well i do think that someone has been caught and fired, its just not public news that sony would share, but i belive in the past ive heard rumors of people being fired over leaking debug FW or something. leaks are leaked by leakers who know what they are doing is wrong (in sonys eyes not mine or the majority of the ps3 hacking scene lol) and they try to cover their tracks.

what we need is some disgrunteled fw coder or .pkg encrypter to leak us the holy grail of sony software, the signing software....:thefinger:

Not gonna happen. The reason people don't usually leak stuff is because it's confidential information and they could face jail time if they did.

How about companies that rip off gamers? They are lamers lol

God Father II, what a disgrace. Is $70 cheap for a piece of unfinished garbage like that?

My point is, some games I think are not worth what they are selling for. It gets worse when you buy those games, giving the devs your money and they continue to produce crap at the same price. Like EA. I think it's rare to find an EA game that is actually worth paying for IMO, and it's because of them we don't have a party chat system and in-game music (another story), so screw them.

As I stated earlier, if there hadn't been so much problems with piracy in the past (and present), developers and the companies behind them, could have spent less resources and money on anti-piracy, and then they could instead actually use more energy on creating good games.
If there wasn't piracy in the first place, buying them would be a lot cheaper today. when people steal, someone else has to suffer and pay the price.. Qiality costs... Also, no one forces you to buy games like godfather 2, if you don't like the reviews, don't buy it. Simple as that.

I wanted to buy it, I had high hopes for it because the first one was great, but no. It's games like those that are clearly just cash grabs and I feel bad for the people who buy games like those and open them before reading reviews...

God Father II, what a disgrace. Is $70 cheap for a piece of unfinished garbage like that?
Indeed they are lamers, so you should then make your grudge against them for making such a disappointing game, and not persecute every other game company.

EA is one company, they tend to do quite a lot of rubbish games, that does not make every other games company the same.

It seems to me that you feel that downloading a rubbish game, instead of buying it would make it more enjoyable for you, that somehow it would magically reform into a great game, if not then your quote of me is irrelevant and invalid.

So i shall restate what i stated before, anyone who rip off games are lamers, full stop, if you don't like a game, don't buy it.

I never said because one developer makes bad games I'm gonna steal theirs and everyone else too lol

I'm buying Demon's Souls tomorrow because it looks like a great game and has great reviews (besides it being "extremely hard").

No, I'll download any game out of curiosity, if I like the game I'll buy it but if I don't at least I didn't blow any money on it... I think it's stupid that my friend will go out and buy a brand new game at full price, realize he doesn't like it and sell it a couple days later for half of what he paid lol

Ugh... Why would I download a game if I know it's bad? I mean as in (example) say FF13 comes out, I don't know if I'm gonna like it as I'm not the biggest RPG fan so I might download it for the 360 but if it sucks me in (like Crisis Core) then I'll go and buy it for the PS3 (cause PS3 > 360 ). If not then the disc will just collect dust, I'm not going to play a game I don't like, and I'm definitely no achievement whore...

I agree that some companies rip gamers its indeed true, but if you think that those games sucked why would you buy them in the first place. instead of "stealing" the game don't buy it i think its better but thats just my opinion.

pirating games in protest doesnt work. game devs who put out unpolished crap dont care if you pirate there games. they got there money already for devloping the game, and know it wont sell anyway.

if you like a game and want to see a seaquil just buy it (and preorder, that really motivates them to make another game)

Not saying that I support piracy or anything but studies have shown that Used game sales hurt more than piracy does.
