I have loads of suggestions, i will make a list below

1.Open the forum up, so a more diverse audience can participate in the forum.
2.A dedicated Wii section, there are people interested in the Wii and are forced to go to different forums, because we don't have a Wii section here.
      3.KEEP the 360 forum.
      4.Make me Admin :D

      ^ greg lol
      Admin too pl0x
      but on a side note
      Upgrade forum/wp software
phone hacks, i know the irc crew would like n900
i could certainly contribute to android related phones

      Edit:
I wouldn't mind a hardware section either, to post projects/hardware hacking. Come to think of it project section would be good too. I hope im not asking of too much=P

Indeed a dedicated phone section is what we need, MohammadAG is the n900 guy and hermy is the Android guy, both have written scripts and helped on projects dedicated to their own platform etc and are more than capable in writing threads or tutorials on the subject

I wouldn't mind if you guys updated the chat section to a flash based irc instead of java runtime cuz my browser slows down every time I use the irc channel also I'd love to see a music section! :thrasher:

You could install a dedicated IRC client, like XChat or mIRC.

Pirate, you could install Mibbit it means users of the forum could join chat from any device, including the PS3.

I agree with GregoryRasputin on the forum bit, after all it is HaxNetwork
A hardware section would be cool, madshaun1984 has been tinkering around with his PS3 lately and got a mod working, he has some good skills with this stuff
An iPhone section is out of the question, we already had that discussion
Wouldn't mind seeing an Android section, 2.2 is coming soon and GregoryRasputin knows a bit about android (hermy too)

It might also be better if you can switch the IRC client from PIRC, it's getting older and harder to use for the average user. Switch to Mibbit, it's much much easier to use and...

Mibbit chat runs on all PC and Mac browsers, and if you're not at a PC it also works on PS3, XBox, Wii and iPhone too!
Which makes sense since this site has a PS3 and an Xbox section

Edit: guess I have nothing to add, just saw the posts above.
Can you install the live posts mod? It updates Live topics with new posts without refreshing the page, which saves server bandwidth and saves the user from repeating stuff that has been said, as above lol

I do plan on converting back to just PS3 as primary base (hence PS3Hax.net domain), why you might ask? Well the population base for 360 is less than 1%, and there are already many well established 360 websites, I believe it is too late to enter that section now. This does not mean I will remove the 360 section entirely, it will just be moved to a subforum as it used to be.

The android/smart phone section is interesting and I will add it, including iPhone. If you have any other smart/android phone subsections you would like to see let me know.

I was gonna say, the 360 forum hardly sees anything. I much preferred how the site used to be, before the upgrades to include the 360. just ps3hax.net sounds nicer too : )

Smart phone section with forums for (imo)
      • iPhone.
      • Android.
      • Symbian^3 (might me most successful since the OS hasn't been released yet, so there aren't any forums discussing the OS's hacks, a user base can easily be established)
      • Maemo (although talk.maemo.org is dominant for Maemo stuff, I doubt this will bring a large user base)
      • Windows Mobile, but again the XDA forums are for the hackers of that OS.

Less intrusive advertisments.. At work I get a fullpage advertisement every page I visit on this site, at home all advertisers are in my hostfile and therefore blocked so I don't get any advertisements, and I must say that makes this site a lot nicer to read..
I don't mind advertisements, but these full-page are just soo annoying I'd rather ignore the site alltogether..

I just ask that you get rid of all the annoying ad pop-ups... That's the only reason I don't visit this place so much anymore. I only just logged in 3mins ago and already my browser has changed from haxnetwork.com to some full-page ad TWICE. It's really frustrating when you're in the middle of reading something too. And before anyone tells me to download some adblock software, I already have... Obviously not the right one to block the ads this site gets, but to me it seems very unprofessional to ask your members to download something to avoid them.

Look forward to a revamp though, and hopefully I can start visiting regularly again after

I can understand your point it is annoying all these popups and stuff but i found if you install this https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865/ for firefox or for IE http://adblockie.codeplex.com/ try these they sorted out my ad issues :D

      Hope this helps

Right ive said it a billion times, Adblock+ is your solution, you have to subscribe to a service on Adblock+, it is free and will get rid of all your problems.

Ok YOU pay for the sites fees and we will get rid of all the ad's, surely you understand that for a site to stay up and running, server and domain fee's need paying, these adverts are a source of that funding.
We arnt like other lamer sites, that force you to pay a subscription to read their forum posts.

I got to agree with most sugestions here, the mobile phone section would be real nice.

But pirate I have to disagree with you on the xbox 360 section issue, while as you said its not really used right now and thats a fact, i think its clearly because its not well taken care of, I see the only people that still post there its me and Greg, but i think if we get some members that know a little of what's going on in the xbox scene, you could make me a mod/news poster as you have asked me before but we never got to talk about that again (sorry for the self promotion XD) we could start a real nice group in the 360 section and make it grow, it would be also a good choice cause the JTAG scene is really growing and i think its a mistake to not take that in consideration, But i leave all that to you bud, you are the admin.

I can also help a lot in the iphone part, as i am currently installing android on my iphone and its going to be awsome XD

About the wii section, well its my point of view but the wii scene won't grow much more, but i think an "experimental" section for that machine would be nice, we would see how it all goes and if people are really using it then make it defenitive.

      Take care guys

tho it would be nice if i could have a thread with a bit of HTML coding in it so i could add my music player for people to listen to without having to leave the site

The only thing I could suggest - is to get rid of the signature auto-resize, and replace it with something that limits the actual size of the signature. ( IE: If it's over a certain size, it gives the user a message that it's too big. ) Like it does with having too many lines.

Reason being - what you have now resizes them whether they're huge or not, plus, you can't link anything to the image ( Saving line space ), because the resizer causes the image, once clicked, to just expand to full size. ( IE: The old signature I was using was just 400 x 100 - not huge at all, and nowhere near max size, I don't think. But it was still resized. )

Other than that..I don't really have much to say. I would say ease up on the ads a bit ( Mainly the ones that show up as "links" in posts. ), but I doubt you have much control over that ( I've used that type before, and you don't get much choice in what shows up. )

i must say the ones the pop up taking u to another page, that u then have to click "SKIP AD" are really annoying! i know a site needs money to stay online, but there has to be another way, they are probably the single most annoying form of ad's in the world!

Yes, I can totally understand that. Being a past forum owner I also had to allow advertisements to help with funding, but I certainly wouldn't have allowed ads as annoying as the ones that redirect users away from the page they actually want to view. You have to ask yourself, what's more important... your active member population and their expierence on the site, or the funding you get from these annoying type of ads? And surely there must be more subtle ads you could allow on here that will pay roughly the same amount?

I took your advice and downloaded Adblock+, which seems to be working for now. Do you honestly think new members who suddenly get redirected away from the site will have enough patience to search the forums for a solution though? Because I know I wouldn't, and I probably wouldn't even think twice about revisiting after. I don't mean it to sound liked I'm moaning, I'm only trying to point out that this problem could be losing you members, which obviously isn't good!

I don't like the redirecting adverts myself, i detest them and they are ps3ne*wsesque, but i put up with them as that's what the administration has chosen, if i was admin, i probably would have ad's too, but not on the front page, perhaps Pirate will change that, perhaps not, we will just have to wait and see.

bigger file attachments (zip) and .ELF format added to the attachment list, would make sharing easier as you wont have to go to a upload site and use links.

not really important but it would make it better.
