• PS Jailbreak, PS3 Hacks , 31.08.2010

Yesterday, we reported that Mathieulh and his team successfully cloned PSJailbreak, however he said he would not be releasing anything soon. Well according to his Twitter posts, and some questions asked at MaxConsole it seems that the PSJailbreak code MAY be released next week, and it can easily be flashed even by an “idiot”.

    To quote:

We shot over Mathiuelh some questions about the activities of his group following various teasers that the team will release the exploit powering PSJailbreak. He indicated that the code could be ‘probably’ be released next week although the team doesn’t wish to be binded by any ETA due to the public pressure that amounts. Elsehere he confirmed that they will be providing the code to easily flash onto ‘Teensy’ boards and the ‘average idiot/dummy’ will be capable of making their own

If Mathieulh and his team do release the code in the future, then we may be very well able to clone PSJailbreak ourselves with one of the following:

Feel free to post links to other places to purchase the Teensy/AT90 and we will keep the list updated here for different regions.

Great job for you and your team on reversing the psjailbreak code and allowing others to see your work by allowing releases that will allow people to flash the code to teeny usb. I just want to thank you for all that you and your team has done, I feel you guys should be awarded a kind of noble peace prize for ps3 hacking and please take your time, don't rush because ps3 users after 4 years of not being able to hack the ps3 are getting impatient, come on people have to realize that by you and your team taking your time they will get a better hack for there ps3 instead of wanting one right now.

uhh, tinkering time ahead! i like it!

i do feel for the psjb team, though. i know $130 is steep, but i have no problem with them making some dough for their discovery.

After the code becomes available on github, there will be someone who will fork it and create a PC(/iPhone/android/psp) based software for it :D
      http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1...te-usb-devices
There will be also one who will provide some code to emulate the psjailbreak behavior.
There will be, once again, some other guy to create .iso mounter (loader) and a file explorer for the device.

Has there been anymore talk about this allowing older firmwares to connect back to PSN? I haven't been able to access my games for months and am about to just bite the bullet and lose my Yellowdog

Well thanks mathieulh you are actually releasing something

Don't... wait for the release of the official one the clones and the scene version, and you might get lucky.

even if he looses his yellowdog you know the devs will develop a way on the newer firmwares to still have the other os.

Sweet! I'm really glad to see this exploit getting open-sourced! I love the idea of an open community effort among hacking groups. I'd love to see the PSP CFW code get open sourced too, as well as the Wii homebrew channel, and such.

Hopefully the PS3 CFW makers will release their code.

Presponse: I know CFW has copyrighted components. You'd release code that extracted the copyrighted stuff from a firmware update and patches it.

Wait it out, this exploit can/will allow you to get back online. Altho you run the risk of being caught and banned.

I just need to connect once to resync the time, so fingers crossed. I have other machines for the linux aspect, but the PS3 is the only device that I have that can extract blurays.

LOL SO I DON"T have to solder my own from scratch, Saves lots of time and minimizes the room for error

this is awesome, i hope soon backup manager supports external ntfs maybe mathieulh and his team can wrk on something like that so they shut dwn the competitors but they would still deserve credit and money for their achievements.

I guess everybody who ordered the PSJailbreak stick will cancel their order now, you really must be stupid to fork out $170 if you can do it for $24 (and possible for nothing in a week, if you have a device which can work exactly the same)..
Everything is out in the open now (PSGroove)..
Wonder how long it will take when we will see a new firmware which actually blocks the hack....
