Requirements
An exploited PS3 (jailbroken) on 3.41
PC with Hex Editor Neo (recommended)
The PS3 FTP Manager application by CJPC
Filezilla (PC FTP Client)

I’m warning you right now. If you plan to sync your hacked trophies with this method, you may face a risk of getting banned by Sony. It’s highly unlikely but it’s possible. So, be warned!

A brief of how this hack works

Inside the trophy collection section on your XMB, there are games represented by thier TROPUSR.DAT(s) respectively, where you can view the % of a game, what have you unlocked, etc. TROPUSR.DAT stores all of that information. Basically to get everything unlocked on a game, you will need to edit that game’s TROPUSR.DAT.
Manually editting TROPUSR.DAT can take a while to get used to. But after learning where and which byte to change, you will be able to platinum a game in no time.

Modifying the TROPUSR.DAT file of Yakuza 2 will be part of this tutorial.
1) Launch the FTP service on PS3.
2) Open Filezilla on PC, connect and navigate to the folder where TROPUSR.DAT is stored. For example:
| /dev_hdd0/home/00000001/trophy/NPWR01101_00 |
00000001 is my user ID.
NPWR01101_00 is the Yakuza 2 folder.
Inside the NPWR01101_00 folder, there will be a file which is called TROPUSR.DAT. Download that file to your PC.
3) Open TROPUSR.DAT with Hex Editor Neo.
4) Now, we need to figure out how many trophies does Yakuza 2 have:
5) Next, we need to add a byte that we have 45 trophies generally unlocked.
6) Now, we need to add FF and two zero bytes (meaning 100%) below the 45 byte that you have just inserted.
7) This is the final step. Now, you just need to unlock every trophy by adding 01 00 01 10 to every trophy ID’s in the file.
To understand what I have exactly inserted, go to Tool in Hex Editor Neo -> File Comparison -> Compare Files. Put two TROPUSR.DAT (0% and 100%) in the dialogs and change the comparison method to ‘Difference algorithm’ and click Ok. Now, you will be able to see what I have editted. This will help you understand easier. Here are the two files:

And, oh, when you view a trophy info on XMB with the hacked TROPUSR.DAT, you will see something like ‘Earned – ‘. That’s because I didn’t add timestamps. At the moment, I don’t know how to add one… because I’m not 100% sure which bytes are responsible for that. Here’s an example of some legit trophy I’ve unlocked:

Oh this is absolutely fantastic!!!! Once, a stealth JB system is worked out, I can FINALLY get the trophies I was friggen robbed of by Dragon Age: Origin. I must've tried 4 times to get this one trophy, that takes about 2 1/2 to 3 hours to do, (Actions in the beginning and end of the trophy event affect whether you get the trophy or not, so you can't just save at specific points). Even having done things EXACTLY as other players have found to trigger the unlocking and nothing. Just goto the bioware forms and look at the many angry bug-victims for that game. That game has a ridiculous bug and trophy related bug count, and don't ask bioware to fix their game, they don't give a rat's ass as long as their getting their money and non-trophy people keep buying their games because they don't care about trophies. That's 1 out of 4 wishes I have for an open PS3, the next three would be a console emulators, a way to restore OtherOS post 3.15 fw, and a stealth mode. In no particular order :P

Well when game companies have non-existant QA testing but they push their game out anyway and don't fix crap, people start to take things in their own hands, is that not why so many of us got pissed when Sony removed OtherOS? Did we not take matters into our own hands? You can't say, I want this but I don't want that, because ultimately the founding logic is the same. I want the PS3 hacked because homebrew isn't fully allowed but I don't want trophy hacking. Both are technically not allowed to some degree. I realize there's a difference, but comments like "I hope you get banned" are neither constructive, wanted nor needed; especially as your first post. You made your first post just to say you hope people we get banned? Really? What does that say about you? That you're ethical? No, just push-over to game companies and their strong-arm tactics. Not even going to say anymore on this, I think your post speaks more than I could begin to cover.
On a side note, I'd be happy with just a delete trophies from list feature, and it's been asked many times on the Sony forums, but they don't listen to their customers. No surprise there.

I agree, it does open the door to misuse of it. But there's no other recourse, for people that want %100 on their trophy list but can't get it because of well documented bug in game that a company refuses to fix. Like I said, I'd be more than happy with a trophy feature that allows you to delete and ban a game from modifying your trophy list. People don't scroll trophy lists to see which ones you didn't get, they look at %'s first.

Thanks a lot. I understand most of you complain about trophies being rigged by this but plenty of people find ways around completing trophy requirements in a legit fashion. Although I won't be using this to get a platinum without working for it, it's a good way to restore our trophies in case of surprise ban waves whenever/if we ever get back online.

Guys, i really need help with the last part, i didnt get the trophy id's part, because basically the 3rd column is full of numbers after each other, so how do i know which is a trophy id and which 1 isn't ?

I might use this. Maybe for LBP because I can't get the Party Person trophy. It's the last one I need to plat that game. All my friends sold their copies and every attempt I've made to hit forums for requests have failed.
But I love the work behind getting trophies. It's a badge of honor. My friends and I compete. So I don't see myself overly-exploiting the system. Good to know that it's there though. All we need is CFW and it will be worth something. Even if we can get on the PSN only to upload trophy data I'd be happy.
What we need is for someone to work on creating trophies for emulated games. Like trophies for SNES and Dreamcast.

I agree with Ripperd... have people upload plat trophy.dat files for others to download given that the files work when sync'd without errors. I know I've got at least 7 that do, but those are legit ones... just starting to hack dat's again for more.
