You all may now we told you a few weeks ago that the original PS3 backup manager, could get you banned if you played with it on PSN. PS3Hax member, keytor69, has released a stealth version of the backup manager with tricks your PS3 in showing the backup manager as Modern Warfare 2, so now you can play online without the risk of a ban (until Sony throws a mandatory firmware update anyways). There still may be other ways to detect the dongle/backup manager being ran – but the cat and mouse games have began and we hackers will always run that risk when playing online.

I deleted the backup manager that I had installed, and tried to install this package, but it said I already had a newer version of the .pkg installed on my ps3. So I reinstalled the previous version. Which is fine, no burning rush to be online, I was on 3.15 until 2 days ago; got used to single player games...

By the way theirs a proof of concept port for the psp http://ps3exploits.com/Compilado.zip just need a phat psp firmware 5.00 m33 with 1.50 kernel addon and place the prx in the root of your memory stick. The program runs fine for me no errors but does not come up on my computer at all.

$n!pR yes the game still contains the code LAUN12345 as it is used as a directory name not a Game Id - how would it be of you actually owned Modern warefar 2 and couldnt install it as Gamedata already existed - the Launcher needs a Install Directory. If peopl want this changing then I Can change it to whatever they want as you musta know as you are also able to do the same with the tools you have access to !!!!
dentnu you can download different backup manager game versions fro xcellerators site but yesterday when i was checking them they all hadd different Complie directorys Id`s but The param.sfo files were all the same and set to BLES00232 I told Shwing this yesterday on Irc befor I made thes versions and he notified xcellerator who I beleive has scince updated his files - no point in letting peopl get caught just by not telling someone they made a slight mistake.

As someone already mentioned, this version does not allow backups to be installed to the internal hdd - after agreeing to the warning you just get dumped back to the main menu. Works OK with usb but a bit useless overall as theres so many games which require installing to the internal hdd.

yeah because everyone playing the same demo for hours is really gonna fool sony! not one of the better ideas i have heard. who the hell plays a demo for more than 10 to 15 minutes. that is all they give you. if you are on there playing a demo for hours on end and day after day do you not think sony will pick up on that? give them more credit than that. they are extremely intelligent over there.

on xbox, i usually just put "Time Leap Demo" game on background just to listen the music. Also sonic unleashed demo is good. just keep that in background so i can play again later fast no need to turn on, boot, dash, run game.

Demo ID's gotta be the most secure,(a demo with just a offline mode) no playing online or no trophies to check for SONY. I think you should keep doing demo ID's!
Another idea which just hit me today was this! :
Remember the program which you use to increase PSN download speeds. It catches the download link from the PS3. So if i would buy e.g. flower and i'll see the download link, and it will download the game to my computer.
Now the game is on the computer but we cant transfer it to the PS3, so i wonder:
Would it be possible to make a PS3 homebrew program which lets you copy in the link from the purchased game(from the psn downloader program), and then make the ps3 download(from the computer) it and install the game.
If that would be possible, then when you buy a game you could make a torrent and send it plus the download link(from the psn download prog). Then someone else can download it, install the homebrew program on their jbps3 and use the PSN download program to transfer it to the ps3. (The PSN downloader program itself of course neeedd to be modifyed so that you can transfer in games you downloaded from other places + the link of the games)
It might be consfusing but i'll try to summ it up by these 10 steps:
1. Start PS3 with jb, without signing in to psn. 2. Start homebrew app which lets you downlaod games from "PSN" aka you computer. 3. donwlad ps3 game(e.g. torrent)+ the download link. 4. Use modifyed version of PSN downloader to put in the game + link. 5. In the ps3 copy in the link of the game. 5. It will start download form the pc. 6. When downloaded it will install. 7. When finnished, turn it off, take out the jb-device. 8. Turn it on without jb. 9. Sign normally in to PSN. 10. Game should be there "legally" installed. 10. Play it online! (as you play it without any jb and backup manager.)
We need a modifyed version of PSN downloader and a homebrew app which lets us manually put in download links which we can make it start downlaod and install. (just like a game from psn)
What do you think guys? Would this be possible in some way?

We need to have dynamic title assignments from the Boot Manager when it "backs up" the games. It is said that v1.1 will have such functionality.

They have removed the manager from their site and have not been on skype or msn.
I think honestly they have sent a few samples out to lure people to order in bulk and then run off with all the money.

Yes it works on the xbox and its a good idea but as i have said before, whenever you switch a drive on the ps3 it reformats the drive, so it shouldn't work, i am not 100% sure on this, so take it pinch of salt.

Hi!
Im having some problems with stealh backup manager. I managed to make a backup of mirrors edge to internal drive. Then put on the LBP bluray and try the mirrors. It worked!
Then I reboot the ps3, and now, there is no backup in backup manager, the game has disappeared or something.
Does anyone know what happened and how can I delete that backup if I cant see it from backup manager?

No you are deleting the manager not the backups, so no if you delete the manager the backup is still there, unless you delete it too.

So let me see if I got this right.
1. If I want to use the Backup Manager, I have to do the "Power-Eject-Jailbreak" process everytime? It's not a perpetual jailbreak similar to the iPod/iPhone in that you jailbreak it once and it stays jailbroken?
2. If I use the backup manager (non-stealth) to boot, let's say, Metal Gear Solid 4 and I'm playing that, my online status will show "Playing Backup Manager"? So even if I'm playing a game it'll still show that I'm in the backup manager?
3. This Stealth backup manager only installs to an external USB drive right?

Since you said that i can't be sure, but it shouldn't you are deleting the manager not the games theselves, the games should still be where you left them if you install the manager again.

i have a problem.
I intall psfreedom through an android phone. I started using the standard backup manager and everything worked 100%. :aetsch:
Then I decided to install backup stealth manager kindly offered by this wonderful forum. But when I start up my stealth manager is required to update to version 1.11, I accept, start download and reaches 100%, but when you install gives me error 80029567 and the transaction is not completed.
With version 1.0 of backup manager stealth several compatibility issues and I also do not think is up to date with the code of call of duty modern warfare 2. Can anyone help me?
PS: I downloaded the EU version of stealth, because I live in Italy and I have a european ps3.

I've tried this Stealth Backup Manager and it won't let me copy any game to the internal HD. If I copy to a USB external drive, then it works. I deleted it and put the Backup Manager 1.0 with ISO load patch and copying to internal drive works perfectly.
I have a 250gig PS3 slim running 3.41 with (i think) HDD fix (md5: e07d2b84c9e9691c261b73e5f1aada20). I am using PSGroove on a Dingoo.

Hello guys! Some minutes ago, Stealth PS3Hax BackupManager ask me to upgrade to 1.11. Unfortunately the upgrade fails due to wrong DNS configured on my PS3... Where I can download the new backup manager version??

to the guy that wont recognize the six axis
1.turn of the ps3 , turn off the back switch or unplug ps3
2.press the reset button on the back of the six axis.
3.turn on the back switch or plug in. turn on ps3 with ps button on six axis
if that doesnt work turn on manually.
4. keep pressing ps button on sixaxis until it gets recognized.

I managed to get my dev board working with the psgroove exploit! However when I put the EU Stealth Backup Manager pkg file on my USB and inserted it in to my PS3 after I had got the PS3 in to the right mode I can't see the Backup Manager on the PS3 menu. Help would be greatly appreciated.

I have managed to get the USB Dev Board working perfectly and have got the Backup Manager installed, however after I have installed my backup and press load the PS3 goes back to the main menu and only shows the other game in the console (not the game I want to play which I backed up. Is there anything I am doing wrong? Any ideas?
