chesteruhi has provided the necessary HEX file to use for this you can download it below.

I think a dev board is better 'cuz their ment to have their firmwares constantly changed rather than the PSJB or any clone.

There seems to be some problem.The 2 shops that you are referring here offer blackcat usb with a 16kb programmable memory and psgroove is a 32kb hex.Which is easy to see that it dont fit in the usb programmable memory.Is this that someone tryies to benefit and get rid of stock?

Im very new to all of this. But i found reading and trying to filter out nonsense helps. Although there is tons of confusing stuff being said. Mostly people giving out false info.
I just orderd a blackcatz usb. Should be here tommorrow since its a state awaya and its being send 1-3 day air mail.
If it does not work it was only 37.95 us currency.

1. Put the black cat in DFU mode by flipping the switches to 1 and 2 then connect it to your PC and press the reset button on the blackcat.
2. Open up device manager
3. Click Action in the menu bar and add new legacy hardware
4. Click install the hardware that I select manually.
5. Highlight Show all devices and click next
6. Click Have Disk, then browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Atmel\Flip 3.4.1\usb\
7. Select atmel_usb_dfu.inf
8. After the driver installs just hit the reset button on the blackcat again and it will show up correctly.
9. Now open up Atmel Flip and select device at90usb162 from the little microchip in the top left
10. now click the usb icon and click usb, then click connect.
11. Load the hex file and flash.
12. flip the 1 and 2 switches back to operational mode and your done

So this means that every hax/code/pkg from PSGROOVE, or the patched one, must be converted to blackcatusb hex ?
In another words, the code/hex for the teensy cards and at90usbkey cards, does not work straight away to this unit?
So if, and only if, the creator of this blackcatusb stops supporting this card, we are ****ed? or can we just use the hex/codes for the other cards?

Can hackers act smart and find a way to emulate these low level devices on ubuntu PCs? Then, windows. And then, Mac?

so did i i ordered my blackcatUSB yesterday when they were in stock i am expecting to recieve the shipping notice today, but if not today maybe monday.
update from their website he is still processing the orders from 9/1 and 9/2 so for those of you that order later might have to wait until the 16th.

how long will this psgroove last? forever? until they patch it with a firmware update or is this thing UNPATCHABLE? meaning that it blocks the updates trying to block it?

No its not unpatchable, they issue a firmware and BAN NO WORKY.
anyway that is kind strange, why is sony wasting their time on lawsuits, and not releasing an update... maybe its harder to patch than we think, i don't know.

well i don't know why it doesn't work i don't want to lose other OS too, when i get the blackcat or my teensy i will try on my current firmware then, if doesn't work i ll go up one at the time, it will be time consuming but i might get lucky, the guys over psjailbreak said they would release something that would work on older firmwares, they didn't said anything since then.

I don;t underestand why other forums report confirmation that it works on all firmwares using the PSGroove I have tried on 3.15 fat and 3.40 slim with no luck black screen or ps3 boot normally.

i have a blackcatusb pcb 1.4 and windows recognize the hardware but the flip 3.4.2 cant open the usb port…..the same thing in blackcat usb status says: NOT CONNECTED….there is a driver problems or what happens. …trying on winxp mode, windows 7 64 and 32 bits with no results
