By the way, a POC is a proof of concept. This does nothing. I had this about 14 hours ago.

It just shows that the PSP can be used to be shown as a USB hub.

Yes, I when connected to my pc while running the EBOOT the psp is detected as a generic usb hub. This is good news. Hopefully people will take this further. Source code people? It should be released but... thats just my opinion. Keep up the good work.

Yep, put it in your PSP\GAME5XX en start it normally.
You won't see anything different because it is not ready yet.

But they are working on it!

      17

@blaze0036 yes... the psp has to be running custom firmware. As for where the eboot goes, depends on the firmware, the path should look something like ms0:/psp/GAME/somefolder/EBOOT

      A few more details about it ;

      You obviously need CFW
Doesn't work on HBL, needs to be run on 5.XX CFW (The dev himself is using 5.50 Gen D like myself xD)
      It's only a POC
Put the 'pspsgroove' folder DIRECTLY into your GAME folder

That should help a few out.

can confirm it working on psp under windows its finally detected as usb hub with no errors and if you have firmware 3.41 on ps3 and actually follow the steps of the old ps3jailbreak ps3 will see the usb hub as an unknown usb device connected. So progress is being made and slowly but surely will have a psp hack

when you take the controller apart thier is a system board that contains a re-flashable chip on it and the system board powers on when pluged into a usb port without the battery attached, .....so that said thier saying it would be possible to flasg the psgroove info to the chip on the system board and plug it into yur ps3 and run the hack. I know that thier still working on it, but i don't see it taking too much longer to be accomplished, but who knows...

And why should it "never work"

The hardest part was to change the USB driver od the PSP so it gets recognized as a USB HUB...which it now does.

The last thing to do is to integrate the specific operations psGroove does, which "should" be fairly simpel, since its open source and well documented.

Maybe I am missunderstanding a thing here, but porting code like that is for my understanding easy (i am doing career training as an IT Sysadmin [well, i am from german, not sure if that is the right wording for it] and my whole knowledge comes from C++ and Java, not sure what language the PSP runs)

it does on a pc not on the ps3.

Yes its on C, but anyways have a look at the code it has a lot of flaws, as you said implementing the exploit shouldn't be hard and infact it isn't, the problem is making the ps3 recognize it as hub.

They would need to make their own driver and coding a driver is anything but easy

nvm: looks like they managed to get further

Well, I tested with the library that brings the hostcore, which also brings usbhostfs.prx
The parameters I have changed, and I recognize the pc as an unknown device.

But in the PS3 if I detect it, and I in no way connected Hight, but it works both with the ps3 turned normal, as starting to use the PSJ method, the PSP detects the incoming connection, but that we must change the speed, of 2-1, which is full / low speed which is used by PSJ.

I climb the Source, you can compile and put the files in, tested with 1.5 eboot
It's for testing, does not work on PC, just with ps3, but to test, you have to get a start in speed mode, which I have not even looked.

The pspgroove I touched the code, to launch the usbhostfs prx, but this gelding is a usbhostfs loader, we do not do anything, just load it, the important thing is to play in the main.c file usbhostfs which is what makes the connection.

Usbhostfs sources and modified groove: megaupload (dot) com /? D = LHCILGTR

Source HostCore unchanged: megaupload (dot) com /? D = O1S0CWSV

Yes, but that is exactly the point. This is a work IN progress. It's much better than work without progress. Anyway, haxnetwork has a place to donate open. I'd recommend donating so they can upgrade their servers. I just tried but apparently I have to make a payment on my credit card first... damn expensive laptop lol. Anyway, I'll be donating asap.

The only improvement mathieulh made was removing the ability to play backups, and the one you refered about being able to remove the usb once the machine boots, you can then remove the usb if you want.

whats about this statement of Brandon Wilson?

Rumor has it the PSP doesn't allow changing the device address, making a port impossible. Makes the calculator all the more important...

They got round this by loading a separate prx first to change the way the address is reported. It's on their forum somewhere and on psxscene.

this sounds exciting just found out the retailer I created a purchase of the psjailbreak for has pulled down the item from their site, so I won't be supporting the original haxors after all. They better respond to my email within 48 hours (cause of the holiday here tomorrow)
I am also awaiting confirmation if the co i bought the xplain board from is going to ship it out. They pinged me for a dollar lol so I hope so, also my psp is going to be returning to me either tomorrow night or shortly there after, and I hope the working hack/mod comes out by then or shortly after, i still have to upgrade form 3.52 something to whatever it requires

according to this website http://psfreedom.com/wiki/index.php?...atibility_list the psp port is in progress i have been checking this website multible times a day and finally they had it on the list as in progress as of this morning... and reliable sources are saying that it is possible to port the hack to the psp, so dont give up hope people. Do a little snoopin around see if one of you can't find some info on confirming this info about the psp and post it here.

psp will be very hard trust me, don't expect it to come out soon, the iphone-linux will come first that is almost certain the psp will take a lot of time.

The ports are not yet finished, they are WIP, but there is a lot of progress done, there have been some difficulties porting certain events from the original PSGroove / PSFreedom like for example the USB Request Handler can't receive the PORT_RESET event to continue with the proccess of sending the descriptors, etc.

If you want to be updated of the projects progress here you have links for the official dev pages:

      http://code.google.com/p/psp3jb/ (PSP3JB by Deviante)
http://code.google.com/p/eol-psgroove/ (EOL PSGroove aka PSPGroove by nullEX, Krosk, wuepe, ViTi95, CaptainCPS-X, DeViaNTe)

By the way, Deviante may be helping more in the future with the EOL port of PSGroove.
Credits to CaptainCPS-X for taking the time of explaining this.
