With the court case won over at Australia, it seems that Sony isn’t stopping just yet. Sony today is taking another PSJailbreak reseller (US), shoppsjailbreak.com to court. Sony is accusing them of many charges, including copyright infringement according to the suit.
To quote:
Sony Computer Entertainment America has filed suit in California against an online retailer, accusing them of a raft of charges including copyright violation.
While not specifically mentioned in the court documents, it’s believed the accused, Zoomba LDC – trading at the address SHOPPSJAILBREAK.com – has been attempting to sell the new PS3 Jailbreak modchip, which allows users to circumvent the PlayStation 3′s copy protection and play games retail games installed on the console’s hard drive.
Shoppsjailbreak is listed as one of two “official” distributors for the PS Jailbreak on the device’s website.
The suit was filed on Tuesday in the California Northern District Court, and accuses Zoomba of copyright infringement, violations of the digital millennium copyright act and trademark infringement. SCEA is seeking damages and an injunctive relief, which would block the sale of the devices.

i just got a reply from my supplier (spain)
Hello,
Maybe there was a miscommunication. The PS jailbreak team has announced they
will ship the product to us September 6th. This Monday and we will get it
Tuesday. So you should get it wednesday, but not last week but the next one!
Not 2 days ago.
The PS jailbreak team are changing a few vital features which will be
imperative to the future. The support and communication from this team
seems to be top notch, we expect great things from these guys. While at
first we heard the feature would come with the delay, we got upset but the
reason for delay makes it worth waiting an extra week.
Also, I can confirm that there are no problem in Europe and Sony have not
taken anyone to court in Europe. Sony has sent letters to a few shops but
nothing that can be done legally to stop it. Also we are not in he
Netherlands nor in the US nor in Australia.
Thank you
Don't hesitate to call us back.

I guess sony's just in damage limitation mode now.
Whilst an open source solution exists (got my Teensy++ this morning)
you would be surprised how many people would be put off open source.
They need things spoon fed to them and wrapped up in a nice little box with fancy logo.
Show them a case-less pcb and some source code and they'd run a mile.
It's the difference between 1% hack rate and 20%
In sonys eye this is worth fighting for.

I guess you are right, and in a way its better like this so we don't get noobs on our ass saying:
"I have payed 160$ for psjailbreak and now it doesn't work, what am i doing wrong?"

KaKaRoTo's BlogOpen your communications!« Update on PSJailbreak linux kernel (for N900 devices)PSFreedom (Jailbreak PS3 with N900) worked, finished and released!Hi everyone,As promised, here?s an update on my implementation of the PSJailbreak exploit : IT WORKS!I made a video to show you, but I suck at making videos, so we can?t really see what?s going?* I?ll do a better one tomorrow. It?s 9:30 AM here, and I really need to go to sleep, I?ll post more about this tomorrow, and I?ll release the code tomorrow for everyone to enjoy, compile, contribute, read, laugh at, etc?So here?s the binary release of PSFreedom (thanks to xnt14 for the name) :*PSFreedom driverI would like to thank 3 people in particular who helped me, encouraged me and helped debug with me : NTAuth, philhug and phire (a.k.a phiren) from EFNet.So here?s how it works.. download the .tar.gz, extract it, copy the files to your n900 (with scp, into /root), then ssh into your N900 and type : ./psfreedom-enable.shThen you can follow the usual procedure, unplug the PS3 from power, plug in the N900, connect the power to the PS3, then press power and *quickly* press the eject button? Then just let *the magic happen!Once you?re done or want to revert back to the normal operation mode of the N900 (or to charge it) run the command ./psfreedom-disable.shIn the future, we?ll have a nice package to install, a GUI application, I?ll make use of the LEDs *to show you the status of what it?s doing, and i?ll have it auto-revert to mass storage mode, so you can use your N900 not only to enable homebrew but also to store your homebrew!See you tomorrow! Good night!KaKaRoTo

Their goal is not to block the hack (which is both more available and cheaper by other means)...they are trying to get the jailbreaking ruling reversed.
As for anyone who bought a PS3 jailbreak key, they should try to get their money back ASAP...spend about 15% of the money on a teensy, and it will ship monday. At this point, it should not be hard to get your money back, as they missed their shipping deadline.
