A few days ago we reported to you on a Dreamcast emulator in the works by drk||Raziel, we now have a video of the emulator running on the PS3 (courtesy from PSGroove):

    To quote:

Games are now running and all of the graphical glitches are now gone from the BIOS! This is still a very early build of this emulator, and it will be a few more weeks before this really gets to playable form. It is currently running very slowly, (7.5 frames per second), but drk||Raziel has not even touched speed optimization yet. Also, many games have graphical glitches, sound is not ported yet, and most games don’t boot at all (mainly because they gripe about not having sound). However, progress is moving extremely quick on this project and it is shaping up very nicely!

    Thanks for the tip Saner

That's what I call a progress for the end users.

I just donated to him. He is working hard and he proved himself. But I really wish we see PS2 emulator soon!

I really cant wait to give this a try, as dreamcast is one of the very few systems i never owned, and only got to play on a handful of times. An X-Box emulator would be cool too, then we could play those few "Exlusives" that were good. PS3 Morrowind anyone? but for now looks like i'll start getting my Dreamcast library for download!

Great stuff. This project should move along pretty quickly as the PC version of nullDC is excellent too.

As for downloading games, you'll need to do this even if you own the original copy as the Dreamcast uses the proprietary GD-ROM which cannot be read by a standard CD/DVD drive.

I have a feeling that Raziel gave up on the project, maybe he accidentally updated his Ps3. Lets hope that somebody else will try and continue where he left off.

this is one of the emulators that will required more "powerful" openGL libraries. there are people working on these libraries when released we should see several more emulators become available
