I only posted here yesterday about psfMOD being updated to support HTC Hero And Droid Eris, klutsh has updated it again, to support the adding of payloads via SD card and adds an extra payload equivalent to the ‘patched mode’ of hermes, here is the change log:

... This actually doesn't interest me but, I just thought that this could be very helpful in the future. Because sony blocked non sony usb peripherals but they did not block the card readers. So if jailbreak could work through the card readers on 3.41 maybe a new exploit could be done through the readers in version 3.50. But then again it's just a thought

So how to I do I load the payload from the sd exactly? right now I'm connecting to PC and fastbooting in bootloader then on the phone I go into terminal then insmod psfreedom.ko.
What are the steps for using psfMOD and the payload from sd? Thanks.

Boot into recovery, psfreedom option, payload via SD option.

So I download a payload.bin file, choose "install Rom from SD" in Rom Manager, choose payload and flash it?

simply you boot into recovery on phone choose "PSFreedom Settings" > "Load a Payload From SD"
although my only question is what kind of file do you acctually load
from sdcard
like a hex file?
or psfreedom.ko file?

if you goto the psfreedom wiki for the HTC Hero, u can download the payload.bin files that are available, the PL3 patch mode doesn't work just yet with this mod but the others work fine, yes the hermes no disc payload is there.
