Yesterday we reported that KaKaRoTo was busy at work porting PSFreedom to FW 3.01, today he has posted an update and it is now working on PS3 FW 3.15.
To quote:
Philhug and I have worked together recently to make PL3 compatible with 3.15, and it is now done, working and ready for you to use. I have just pushed the latest changes to github, so just update both PSFreedom and PL3, and define FIRMWARE_3_15 in PSFreedom’s config.h and recompile. You will then be able to enjoy your unrestricted PS3 on 3.15 firmwares. Enjoy!

Very nice i kept my playstation on 3.15 so i can still use Linux and just to make sure and sorry to be a noob and if this question has been asked before do i still need to jailbreak my ps3 with jailbreak files of 3.15 or do i reinstall this as an upgrade/reinstall firmware i am currently waiting for my tenasy board.

Be careful ordering psjailbreak and clones!!!
This is for PSfreedom which is what we load onto things such as dev boards like the teensy or xplain, etc., or ipods, ds's, etc. PSjailbreak is updatable but most the clones are not and even if you have the original or an upgradable clone you would still need to wait for PSjailbreak or the clone manufacturer to release their own update to implement the new ability to work on other firmwares.
I just love it, this is such excellent news as I have a fat ps3 on 3.15 with a busted blueray drive. I was lucky enough to get a new ps3 at the time so I am also fortunate enough to have a slim in 3.41.
With two firmware versions down and another on the way (the previouslyt mentioned 3.10 in dev) I anticipate more and more versions to follow.
A huge thanks to KaKaRo and to the others he mentioned (Klutsh and Philippe) for the great work!

I got by at90usb162 of ebay, they have a bunch of compatible models. Goto downloads>homebrew loaders and look through the different boards that support it and do an ebay search.

Yeah its easy to 'port' to 3.42 or 3.50 where Sony have patched the exploits.
I get so sick of reading people post asking for 'online' whenever something is done. It totally undermines their acheivements by demanding the near on impossible. Get a clean retail if you want online.

so i have a at90usb162/teensy board,will this work on it??? or are these boards only designed for .hex files??
is that the difference between psgroove and psfreedom?? one is for the boards and the other is for devices like ipod etc??
would it be possible to get a .hex file to make this work for my teensy on version 3.15??

guys anyone have ps3 fat with 3.01 or 3.15 please backup dev_flash1 files via ftp server and share them so everyone can load the firmware via JaiC_USB_FIRM_LOADERv03 so after loading the files with jaic loader we will have ps3 with 3.01 or 3.15 with otheros support
note: dev_flash1 include no personal information
*the files should be copied from fat ps3, because the slim version doesn't support otheros in any firmware.90% sure you can use and load the fat ps3 devh_flash1 files on slim version to have otheros support
so please someone upload the files

when somebody on 3.15 with the same device compiles it then it will most likely be released as hex.
you could always grab the source and compile it yourself.

ive asked several places and have been reading up on compiling these and it seems complicated i have a blackcat and a hd2 to test and have a firmware 3.01 and 3.15 to test and upload dev\bin if someone can or finds a compiled version thanks

ok no go, ive tested my teensy on my friends 3.41 slim and it the original psgrove worked so i know its not my hardware, wen testing the latest upload of hex files , the ps3 just hangs on a black screen

Getting the same problems as SniperSnake - same hardware as well. Can actually get it to boot and show the loader, but gives 80029563 error when trying to do anything. Light also barely flickers a single time when booting and shows unknown usb device over and over.

ok i finally got it to work, 3.15 fw, launch 60 gb ps3 and a teensy2.0 (not the ++) the latest build worked for me. remember to turn off/unplug th eps3, then insert the usb, then plug in/switch on, then hit power/eject...
so i got the install .pkg and /app_home/ options, i installed backup manager and open bm, tried to play games that worked with my friends 3.41 slim. and it wont work i think the latest working build doesnt have backup manager support...

It seems to work with atavrxplain board (only LED do not change from orange to green)
In game menu I have:

so generally it looks all right but I've just downloaded SUDOKU and SNAKE homebrew and it didn't works. I've copied AVCHD folder to root of pendrive but when trying under movies i have an error message that it cannot open movie - 80029945
also it shows unknown usb device.

there is no sudoku or snake homebrew yet. you probably downloaded some psp homebrew. you need to download blackb0x ftp and put the .pkg on the root of the memory stick and it will show up in the install packages folder
Edit: nevermind there is sudoku app but atleast make sure youre installing it right

.pkg files go directly on the root and are installed nothing should go in AVCHD.
I believe you are trying to run Bluray java homebrew which doesnt work anymore. Instead download blackb0x FTP get the pkg and put it on the root with no folder. After that plug it in the ps3 and click on install packages. you should the file and just press it to install.
