    It has been about three and a half months, since PS Jailbreak was first announced, you can find the first post here, since then there has been a lot of progress in the scene, from an Open Source version(PSGroove/PSFreedom) of PS Jailbreak being created, to Sony blocking any jailbreak methods with firmware 3.42 and much more, here i will attempt to create a very detailed F.A.Q.

    Q.) What firmwares can i jailbreak my PS3 on.
    A.) 2.76, 3.01, 3.15, 3.21, 3.40 and 3.41

    Q.) Can Firmwares higher than 3.41 be Jailbroken
    A.) No, Sony blocked the method when they released Firmware 3.42 and at this present time, there is no way to Jailbreak beyond 3.41.

    Q.) I accidentally upgraded to 3.42/3.50, can i downgrade to a Jailbreakable Firmware.
    A.) Yes, the scene is full of open source downgraders, the following list of devices are able to do downgrading:

    [Tutorial] Downgrade, Using PS Jailbreak

    Q.) When jailbreak came out, i upgraded to 3.41, loosing Linux, can i have Linux again.
    A.1) As i stated above, there is a downgrade method, so using that, it will be possible to downgrade again to 3.15.
    A.2) If you aren’t interested in downgrading or you have a Slim PS3, marcan, is working on a boot loader, that will enable Linux once again on PS3′s past 3.15, check out AsbestOS

    Q.) I cant afford nor am i willing to pay $99 for the Official Jailbreak, is there any other methods.
    A.) Yes you can, you can buy a clone dongle of PS jailbreak, a Dev Board or mobile devices, such as iPhone or HTC Desire.

    Q.) So i have been hearing about payload’s
    A.) KaKaRoTo and Hemes are the two most famous payload creators, these payloads add various functions, for example, the payload that allowed 3.41 users to access PSN, original created by Xoeo, make sure you have the most up to date payload.

    Q.) So how do i actually Jailbreak the PS3
    A.) Well each jailbreak device is different, for instance, on the HTC Desire, you put the phone into recovery mode and select the payload, you then plug the phone into the USB cable, which should be plugged into the first USB port on the left of your console, then(this applies to all jailbreak devices) Power of the PS3, with switch at back for Fat and pull the plug out for Slim’s, re-switch/plug on/in, then press power followed by eject, if done correctly, you should be greeted with two new folders in the games list on the XMB

    Q.) Is my console permanently Jailbroken
    A.) No, you need to Jailbreak each time you power on your device.

    Q.) So how do i Backup games
    A.) You need to install a Backup manager, there are quite a few available

    Q.) What are my options for backing up games.
    A.) You can install games on the PS3′s internal HDD or use an External USB HDD, which needs to be formatted to FAT32, you can also use a FAT32 USB Thumb Drive, note that with FAT32 you are limited to games with single files under 4GB, if you prefer all your games to be on the internal HDD, you can get up to 1TB 2.5″ HDD, or you can use the Xecuter PS3 HDXT method and have your internal HDD on the outside of the machine, the benefit of this, is that you can use 3.5″ Sata and IDE HDD’s as internal storage.

    - maximum height is 9,5mm (many 2.5″ drives above 640GB are too high too fit inside)
    - maximum PS3 filesystem is 1TB (512KB block size)
    - maximum FAT32 theoretical size is 8TB, practical limit on the PS3 is 2TB
    - 7200rpm can be used, as well as Flashdrives (although the 1/5th lower loadingtime of GTA5 can be considered too low to justify the higher pricetag of SATA Flashdrives.
    - SATAII-300 can be used, although it will work on SATA1-150 speed interface.
    - If using external 3.5″ drives hooked up to the internal SATA, you’ll need an external powersupply (some drivebays include them).
    - If on low budget or you like DIY: use a normal extension (male to female) SATA cable (and make sure it doesn’t get loose) and recycle the case + powersupply of an external USB harddisk (without using the USB connection/conversion).
    - Don’t use RAID or SAN drives with (e)SATA interface, just a plain single drive with a bare SATA connector (many controllers don’t work without drivers/software).
    - Games can be hardcoded for BluRay speeds (9MB/s) so sticking a 85~220MB/s harddrive inside will not speedup everything/allways (but most do).
    - If you plan on exchanging the drive, download the full PUP of your FW you are using and put it on an USB Mass Storage Device formatted with FAT32 in PS3UPDATEPS3UPDAT.PUP and disconnect the LAN before repowering the PS3 (or you’ll bound to end up with the latest (3.55 now) unjailbreakable/undowngradable version).
    - Use a good fitting X screwdriver, the screws fitted to the HD<>tray are made of very soft aluminium.

    Q.) Ok, i have downloaded a Backup Manager, that i want to use, how do i install it.
    A.) You need to put the PKG on the root of a thumb drive and install, by selecting “Install Package Files” on the XMB, in the games section.

    Q.) Ok im fed up with using my thumb drive, is there a way to download apps directly to the PS3.
    A.) Yes, though you will have to install this one last app via thumb drive, it mounts a virtual Thumb Drive on the PS3 MHUFreeStore, here is a video:

    Q.) So i have heard some games will not work, how do i find out, which game does or doesn’t work.
    A.) Well i could list each one here, but i wont, instead visit PSJCL(PS Jailbreak Compatibility List), created by Bash, OnePlayer, Chris, Neowarex, Meeplo and xnt14, it is without a doubt, it is the definitive site for PS3 game Backup compatibility information.

    Q.) Ok so i have backed up a game, i want to save that game to my computer as an extra backup, or i want to mod the game, how do i transfer it from my PS3.
    A.) There are two methods, FTP, there are three of those at the moment:

    A.) Yes, using the Open Source PS3 SDK, named PSL1GHT, you can create Homebrew, PSL1GHT was created by AerialX

    Q16.) So can i play online or view the PSN store, when my PS3 is Jailbroken
    A.) No, it isn’t possible, Sony has blocked all attempts to access PSN, we had it back for a while thanks to Xoeo, but that was also blocked, who knows, perhaps in the future.

    Q.) So there is no way i can play multiplayer games with my friends(Thanks Spok)
    A.) Yes you can, but not via PSN, you need to use XkaiLink and XBSlink and this will have you playing via LAN.

    Q.) People are saying that i can get banned from PSN, if i Jailbreak my PS3, is this true
    A.) At the moment no, there is no actual cases of bans happening because of Jailbreak

    Q.) I decided to downgrade my console using a debug firmware, i got five beeps then it shut down, is it bricked, can i fix it
    A.) When you start messing with different firmwares, you run the risk of bricking your console, forum member gliitch did exactly that
    though he was able to fix it and wrote quite an informative tutorial on how to fix it here

    Q.) Ok so i have gone through the process of jailbreaking and successfully unbricking etc, i want to be braver and attempt more exiting exploits, like writing to the flash, is this possible.
    A.) JaiCraB & ps3mrenigma released an app called Mount Alejandro which enables you to write to flash, you can read more about it here

    Q.) I would like to modify the XMB, make it more custom, is this possible
    A.) TeaM-ACiD1C brought out a modified XMB, you need to use Mount Alejandro if you want to write to the flash, you can find more about it here, it also has the download link

    Q.) I have always hated that annoying boot sound the PS3 makes, when it is turned on, can i change it
    A.) You certainly can, gliitch has written a great tutorial here it will show you how to change the sound and make yourown, or you can simply download the sounds made by gliitch and other members

    Developer ThatOtherDev has released an update to his homebrew game called Cubicle Shooter. This release includes many changes (see below).

    Notable changes:

    • You can now shoot other players in split screen multiplayer (still no player death but you get pushed back when shot).
    • You are taller now. You can crouch back to your previous shortness by holding down the right analog stick. You automatically crouch when there isn’t enough room to stand.
    • Enemies in multiplayer will approach the nearest player (they would previously only follow player one).
    • Enemies no longer spawn inside the cube at the start of the game so you wont encounter them until you blast through the wall (It was beginning to feel a little bit too crowded).
    • The kill counter has been replaced with a score system. You get 10 points each time you shoot a cubicle dweller. The scores are tracked separately for each player.
    • Textured stars onto the sky.
    • Set a limit to how deep you can dig into the ground (the limit is fairly deep and I don’t expect it will be a problem for anyone).
    • Fixed the scope in multiplayer.
    • Some improvements to performance.

    Aim – Right analog stick
    Crouch – R3
    Shoot – R1
    Zoom – L1
    Jump – X

    Perhaps I phrased it poorly in my notes about the update but you actually can NOT kill players yet. You can shoot other players but they wont ever die. You can only kill the non player characters.

    FBAnext is a multi-arcade emulator, which simply means you can play supported Arcade games on your PS3 without actually going to the Arcades. See below for supported systems.

    Place your roms in /dev_hdd0/game/FBAN00000/USRDIR/roms/

    The first time you run FBANext, a configuration file called fbanext-ps3.xml will be generated. This file will store your current options.

    If you wish to change your rom path, edit fbanext-ps3.xml located at /dev_hdd0/game/FBAN00000/USRDIR/ and modify the paths-rom element with the directory you wish. Please include a trailing slash at the end of your path otherwise no roms will be located.

    .Zip/.7z/.rar file extensions are supported.

    Rom Menu:
    - L1/R2 Filter on different hardware drivers.
    - X Load and run the currently selected rom. If you receive any error messages during loading the rom, they will be displayed. Typically most errors returned are due to old or incorrect rom dumps.
    - Triangle Filter clone roms.
    - Square Toggle to display 3 and 4 player Roms only
    - Select Switch to options menu.
    - Start Will return to the currently loaded rom if there is one.

    Based off the Open Manager homebrew application, multiMAN function not only as a backup manager, but also as a file manager, and as an AVCHD and BDMV player—a very useful tool to have installed on your jailbroken PS3, I must say.

    What is New in v1.10.11 and v1.10.12:
    This release comes with quite a few changes, which includes MP3 playlist support, new icon, cover mode 3, AC3 5.1ch / 2.0ch, and more.

    What is AVCHD? AVCHD is a camcorder video format. Most camcorder use this format for high-definition recording.

    What is BDMV? BDMV is a Blu-ray video format.


    • User defined options.ini (options_default.ini) to set various options
    • Copy/backup progress bar
    • Support and display for 7 devices (HDD/USB/BD/SDHC/MS/CF)

    Changelog for v01.10.11:

    • MP3 “playlist” is now working. After you play a song from the file manager, multiMAN will load the rest of the mp3 files from the folder as a playlist and will play them sequentially.
    • During playback: [START]+LEFT / [START]+RIGHT skips to previous/next song in any mode and [START]+UP/DOWN controls playback volume.
    • MP3 is stereo, but it will be played back through all 6 speakers in 5.1 configuration with little attenuation for the rear speakers and the LFE.
    • Changed initial volume to be a little softer.
    • AC3 5.1ch / 2.0ch is also working, but in halts the main thead until song is played through. I’ll need a bit more time to put it in the background.
    • multiMAN internet update doesn’t require USB stick anymore. It will save it under its USRDIR/TEMP and will mount it to /app_home.
    • Filemanager shortcut changed to [SELECT]+[START].
    • New icon, created by condorstrike from the forum.

    Changelog for v01.10.12:

    • Cover mode 3 will show the cover if available (or COVER.PNG for AVCHD titles).
    • Clicking on [GAMES] in file manager will show the initial cover mode (set in the .ini).
    • In the picture viewer: images will slide into the screen and UP/DOWN will zoom to fit H/V.
    • In file manager: when user enters a new folder, mouse pointer will go to the [..] entry.
    • On inactivity in game cover modes the legend and device list will also disappear.

    It turns out graf_chokolo has been working on more than just obtaining the Dongle Master Keys for downgrading. According to his blog (Graf_Chockolo (via) XorHack’s Blog), and posts on PSX-Scene and PSGroove, he has managed to get a retail 3.41 console to decrypt SELFs and SPRXs.

    To quote:
    Guys, i know you are waiting for the USB Dongle Master Key from me I have got now 2 fat PS3 with HV 3.15 but unfortunately no SX28 development board yet to exploit it

    But i was not idle and the last and this week i was working on reversing of self decryption. And now i’m able to decrypt SELFs and SPRXs on my exploited GameOS by using HV calls only and no GameOS functions at all I reversed the interface to appldr which decrypts SELFs on GameOS 3.41.

    So you wont’ get bored until i get the USB Dongle Master Key, i will make my findings and my source code public very soon and you will be able to decrypt your favourite games and programs by yourself Let the fun begin, guys

    An anonymous source has released Exclusively to PSGroove.com a PS1 Emulator for the PS3, here is a quote from the source:

    An anonymous source has contacted us with some exciting, exclusive news. He has released a PSX emulator for PS3, entitled PS3SX. The emu is a port of PCSX to the PS3. It runs at full speed, full screen, and supports CDDA and XA audio. This pre-release also features 2 player support, saving, and iso formats *.iso *.bin *.mds *.img.

    Currently the source code has not been released, but it will be once the emu is completely ported using just the PSL1GHT SDK. PS3SX will run on all retail 3.41 units (fat and slim). Currently it is untested on older firmwares and does not work on debug units (PS3 Test units).

    Instructions: Install PKG file on PS3. Either use the folders from the rar file, or make “bios” “MC” and “psxrom” folders in the root of a USB drive. Download PSX bios file below, and place it in “bios” folder. Place legally owned PSX backup ISO’s in the “psxrom” folder. Run emulator and play!

    Please note there is currently a bug with this pre-release. You can only quit the emulator when running a game. If you attempt to exit to XMB at the rom menu, the emulator will freeze.

    Here is a quote from the ReadMe:

    PS3SX Pcsx port on PS3 using PS3 SDK and psl1ght it’s a hybride for the pre-release

    Popular PS3 Dev Hermes, the creator of the “Hermes” payloads for PSGroove, has released a port of Heretic And Hexen for the PS3 which has been created using the Open Source SDK PSL1GHT, here is a quote from the source:

    To celebrate PSL1GHT already beginning to have a body and the creation of Soundlib PS3 that can play up to 16 voices sound, I carried two classic PC to PS3 that use multiple effects: The Heretic and Hexen games

    Required to operate and HEXEN.WAD HERETIC.WAD WADs respectively (shareware or not and so, in case that name) to be copied into the directory of EBOOT.BIN or otherwise within the folder “heretic “and” hexen “respectively, in a USB device.

    At the start of the game, if installed in hard disk (by PKG) is the option to press CIRCLE to copy the contents of the folders “heretic” or “hexen” from the USB device to the installation path of the game, with facilitaros to life.

    On the other hand, I’ve got vibration in command: when we receive a damage activates the strong vibration, but when it is an enemy that takes damage, you’ll notice in the form of lower vibration.

    The latter is perhaps not very realistic since it is well if we are what we are violating the damage at close range, but not so much long distance and to say that the command is currando vibrate when the bugs between them … [Laughs]. However, I have left and that sometimes is good to know you have a few wild animals around and it is useful to know that truly, your ammunition is doing pupa (not all hard-nosed realism XD)

    You also have option of using a series of cheats as mentioned in the readme.txt.

    On the other hand, let me know if you have problems with the display: I have checked the HDMI modes available to me (which excludes 1080P) to try to find the viewable screen and use a routine that re-scale a screen “virtual” format output. The problem is that the drawing area of the screen in PS3, is outside the visible area of your monitor / screen and that requires some adjustments I’ve made based on my screen and do not know if any other, can cause problems or not, or whether any other resolution requires further adjustments (one thing is to see a slight edge to the right, for example, and second straight, are not things that should appear.) It distinguishes between 4:3 and 16:9

    UPDATE: xttl has updated DOOM to V0.3 with various new features such as 720p support, various resolution support, analog and sound now properly work. Full details below:

    v3 is now out. Sound effects should work pretty much perfectly now, there’s a simple launcher that will allow you to select an IWAD if you have multiple ones available (no PWADs yet, and the launcher menu only lists the first 10 IWADs it finds which can happen if you have duplicates of them on different storage devices) and in case an error happens after graphics have been initalized, you’ll see the error message on screen. (not just via ethernet debugging if enabled).

    I also switched the license to GPLv2 now (the DOOM source is available both under GPL and under another license that basically disallows any commercial use of the work, but allows you to withhold your sources). I had no intention to not release sources anyway, and this allows me to use code from other GPL’d ports. The 720p scaler in use now is from Chocolate Doom (though adapted to work with true transparencies instead of faking them with palette lookup tables) and 1080i/p is done using a similar idea.

    v3 supported screenmodes: 1920×1080 and 1280×720. 640×480 and 720×576 STILL DO NOT WORK. Sorry! If you want to force 720p mode when you have 1080i or 1080p available, hold TRIANGLE immediately after you select PS3DOOM’s icon from XMB and keep it held down until the launcher WAD menu appears. This is a workaround until I can figure out a way to query available video modes using PSL1GHT. I don’t just want to assume a particular mode is available, and PSL1GHT’s videoTest example just selects the same mode XMB is running in, which is always the highest resolution available.

    You may want to force 720p because the scaler in 1080i/p is a bit slow. ;-)

    I also changed the controls to analog now.

    It took a little while to get it to start up at all (without any graphics, sound, input…pretty much nothing except debug output to the Ethernet port), mainly due to some 64 bit vs. 32 bit issues (endianness issues were already given some thought in the source!).

    Right now it only runs in 1920×1080 because the upscaler (the game still renders in 320×200) is hard-coded for this. I set the resolution info in PARAM.SFO correctly so that XMB will not even let you launch it unless you have 1080i or 1080p selected as a supported mode in display options. The controls are also hard-coded and it has no sound or music yet, but because this version is already quite playable (I just played through the whole shareware episode using it) I thought I’d upload it. “Release early, release often” you know. ;-) The 35Hz timer the game requires is implemented using a separate thread that just does usleep(1000000/35); ticker++; all the time because PSL1GHT seems not to have any support for the Cell OS Lv-2 timer syscalls yet (except for sleep & usleep). Timing seems to work OK like this though.

    To use this, download the PKG (link later in this post) and install it using “Install package files”. Then copy a supported DOOM IWAD to the game’s directory (/dev_hdd0/game/DOOM00666/USRDIR/) OR put it on a USB drive (or on a CF/SD/MMC/MS memory card if you have an early PS3 that has the integrated card readers) under /ps3doom/. Then you just launch the game from the XMB icon and it should work.

    The hardcoded controls are:

    • D-PAD: Navigate menus and move/turn your character.
    • START: Bring up or exit the menu.
    • SELECT: Bring up or exit the auto-map. (while in game)
    • L1/R1: Strafe left/right.
    • L2: Use button. (open doors, activate lifts, exit the intermission screen, etc.)
    • R2: Attack button.
    • CROSS: Select an option from the menus.
    • CIRCLE: Go back to the previous menu.
    • SQUARE: Use for YES in menus and cycle to previous weapon in game.
    • TRIANGLE: Use for NO in menus and cycle to next weapon in game.

    Yeah no analog support yet, sorry about that! I am probably going to add fully customizable controls including USB keyboard/mouse support later when I get around to adding some kind of a launcher for the game. The launcher will also allow you to put multiple IWADs in your WAD directory and select one of them, load PWADs, etc. Right now that’s not possible. ;-)

    I also already know that the aspect ratio is a bit off (not quite 4:3 as it should be), so don’t bother reporting that. This will be fixed later when I get around to adding scaling using the RSX. BTW. before you ask: I will probably not even attempt to add true high-res or wide-screen support, instead I’ll probably try porting prboom+ (which has both already well implemented) in the future. I am also not interested at all in hardware accelerated DOOM. Just take a look at any of the accelerated DOOM ports for the PC or even Carmack’s official iPhone port. The lighting is totally wrong in all of them (way too bright and uniform) unless perhaps you’re playing a map specifically designed for them. However, if it turns out that prboom+’s software renderer can’t run in 1080p with adequate speed on the PPU alone, I don’t think attempting to offload some of the work to the SPUs is totally of the question then. ;-)

    I also know that saves don’t work yet, that changing the screen size from the options menu crashes and that there is no way to enter cheats yet, and that order for cycling the weapons is not quite what you’d expect (it uses the internal ordering of the game which goes like this: fist, pistol, shotgun, chaingun, rocket launcher, plasma, bfg, chainsaw, super shotgun).

    You must quit the game from the game’s own menu, not from XMB. Otherwise Lv-2 will crash and reboot. AFAIK this is a bug in PSL1GHT and not my own fault, but feel free to tell me if I’m wrong.

    The source is a mess, yes, and there are probably some stupid things in there. But that was the case even before I touched it at all. ;-)

    Based off the Open Manager homebrew application, multiMAN function not only as a backup manager, but also as a file manager, and as an AVCHD and BDMV player—a very useful tool to have installed on your jailbroken PS3, I must say.

    What is New in v1.10.10:

    This release comes with quite a few changes, which includes a picture viewer, zooming with analog stick or L2 & R2 buttons, panning with the left analog stick, slideshow, colored coded file manager, more responsive game browsing, thumbnails, and more.     KaKaRoTo author of PL3 payloads and PSFreedom ports has been studying a way to capture all the Hypervisor calls, and now he has released his final working payload, so other PS3 Developers can make use of it to study more of the inner-workings of the PS3 system!

    As we reported earlier this week, KaKaRoTo, had successfully dumped LV1 Syscalls, by using an updated PL3 payload. Today, he has kept good on his promise, and has publically released his updated PL3 payload. The new payload can trace all syscalls and hypercalls. What this means to the average user, is an increased knowledge of how the PS3 system works.

    * Released the hypercall tracer payload! Also merged syscall tracer, and a payload that traces hypercalls+syscalls.

    * Adding a payload to trace all sc calls (syscalls and hypercalls). Use carefully, this generates race conditions easily!!

    * Add a payload to trace all read/writes to the vuart by showing the hypercall and the data buffers sent/received

    stoneMcClane has released exclusively to PS3HaX, the first legal homebrew FTP server for the PS3, it was created using the open source PS3 SDK PSL1GHT, here is a quote from the readme:

    A minimal PlayStation3 FTP server written with the help of PSL1GHT (http://www.psl1ght.com/)

    1) To start the FTP server, just run the PS3-FTP.self via ps3load/wiiload or install the
    PS3-FTP.pkg and run it directly from the XMB on your PS3.

    2) Configure your FTP client to use passive mode and only one FTP connection at a time.

    3) Connect to your PS3′s IP on port 21 with an FTP client of your choice. If you don’t
    know the IP address of your PS3, go to Settings -> Network Settings in the XMB, it is
    listed there along with other network settings.

    PS3-FTP has been tested and should be compatible with the following clients:
    * Filezilla
    * FlashFXP
    * CuteFTP
    * WinSCP
    * Windows Explorer
    * BSD/UNIX FTP shell client

    4) To stop the server once it is running, you have to be connected to your PS3 with your
    FTP client. Press and hold down the X button on your controller and terminate the
    connection of your FTP client or just close the FTP client on your PC completely.
    The PS3-FTP server should then shutdown and your PS3 should return to the XMB.

    If you are a developer, you can also stop and restart PS3-FTP via telnet. Simply
    connect to the FTP port (21) of your PS3 via telnet and type “QUIT!” or “QUITR”. If
    you are running Unix and have the “expect” interpreter installed, you can use the
    “stop” and “restart” scripts that are located at the repository’s root directory.
    (Remember to close the connection of your FTP client before trying to connect via telnet)

    Gaia Manager is based off Open Manager and Sexy Manager. Therefore, you can use this to boot games stored on your jailbroken PS3. Not to mention, this manager have features not found on other managers.


    • PL3 dev (peek & poke) payload is not supported and using it may crash your PS3.
    • Precompiled psgroove+pl3 versions often include dev payload, so use my builded hexes instead.


    • Supports up to 512 items from two USB devices, internal hdd and bluray.
    • Ability to copy games from bdvd to hdd0 or USB’s, from hdd0 to USB’s or from USB’s to hdd0. It is done asking to you the destination device. It use uses asynchronous reading and writing for fast copy.
    • Special support for big files in FAT: it splits files >= 4GB using .666xx fragments (if the file is name.ext, the file splits as name.ext.66600, name.ext.66601,…). This file is not bootable and it is marked using ‘_’ as folder prefix. The file is joined when you copy it to hdd0 device.
    • Automatically finds the path of the games and asks to you about it. In other case, if the Gaia Manager is installed in the hdd0 creates one. You can change it pressing SELECT+START later.
    • Including checking game option (pressing R3). It displays information about the files, size, splits or big files, if it have one.
    • Support for Homebrew: you can creates “homebrew” folder in root USB FAT device and put here others folders with an EBOOT.BIN (.self format) and one ICON0.PNG. Also you can use the internal hdd0. Homebrew is launched directly and receive the path in argv[0].
    • FTP support to upload homebrew: Gaia Manager uses “GAIA01985″ as user, by default. I recommend flashfxp to use it, because FTP (Sony) support is not very good.
    • Supports Hermes v3 patching and disc-less playing. if you return from game list, apps_home can launch games without one disc (some games don’t work without any disc).

    How-to use:

    You just need to put your game in /dev_hdd0/BDRIPS via FTP or BDRIPS in the root of a FAT32 formatted USB disk, you can change the games directory compiling with make WITH_GAMES_DIR=XXX. And your games cover (260×300) in GAMES_DIR/COVER.PNG, /dev_hdd0/BDCOVERS or BDCOVERS in the root of the USB disk that contains the game as TITLEID.PNG (for example BLES12345.PNG).

    Often you will find a zip file that contains two Gaia Manager versions (*-BDRIPS.pkg and *-GAMEZ.pkg). The only difference is the directory where you have the games rips, BDRIPS or GAMEZ. I suggest to use the BDRIPS version, but if you want retrocompatibility with the original Backup Manager or with OpenBM you have to use the GAMEZ one.
