What we have all been waiting for, an homebrew PSN type app, whilst there have been others that rely on the PS3′s web browser, this one is dedicated to the PS3 and is its own program, here is a translated quote from the source:
After many hours of work we bring you the latest addition to MHU2D.Net. MHUFreeStore PS3.
We hope that this release is as useful and succeed both as her little sister, the PSP.For those who do not know what this is, I put a brief summary:
Is a free and open store content for your PSP and your PS3. Content as Homebrew, free music, backgrounds, etc …
Hence its name: Free, free of charge. Store, store (not the store, the content will NEVER be paying). To install it you have two options:
- Using the PKG file that is at the end of this post and install it like any other PKG (in the readme.txt file specified as)
- Use the PSP store and get the PS3 version from there. Once downloaded, connect your PSP in USB mode to the PS3 and install the PKG file from the PS3 XMB.Do not forget that to suggest improvements, new content, ideas, etc … you have the forum at your disposal and MhuFS@MHU2D.netEsta email address is being protected from spam bots. You have to go to "Instal_PKG"
Make sure you have the PKG folder mounted, in the stores settings.
This app is awesome.

It will be awesome if this have a system like Cydia, where you can add external soucers in the installer...
If this is even possible, think about that in the todo list :D

I've always been wondering - is there a risk of getting banned when using it, and is there a risk of getting banned when being connected to the internet and browsing with you ps3, but not logged in to PSN?

Well mine is always connected to the internet, just never connected to PSN, not sure if Sony can do anything, but im sure it would be illegal if the tried outside PSN.

...But this is sony; even if they can't remote-brick your console, they can detect, "Open Manager" running, and they can log your IP...then they can start suing people.

Alright guys, I used the first release of MHU Freestore on the psp and it was just as buggy. It would or wouldnt work depending on what cfw you were running. Just give the team some time and I'm sure they'll sort everything out. Thats one of my favorite apps for the psp now. I havent tested this yet but I'm about to. Again, just give them time, this is the first release.

After I download something and install it, how do I get rid of it in my "install packages".
Do I have to FTP and delete it??
Perhaps a delete function in a future revision

Thanx for your answers, guys. Then I guess I will have to wait and see what are Sony's next moves, and what kind of measures they will take against whom. And in the meantime, I guess I will keep my PS3 off the internet entirely. :/
