What we have all been waiting for, an homebrew PSN type app, whilst there have been others that rely on the PS3′s web browser, this one is dedicated to the PS3 and is its own program, here is a translated quote from the source:

After many hours of work we bring you the latest addition to MHU2D.Net. MHUFreeStore PS3.
We hope that this release is as useful and succeed both as her little sister, the PSP.

For those who do not know what this is, I put a brief summary:
Is a free and open store content for your PSP and your PS3. Content as Homebrew, free music, backgrounds, etc …
Hence its name: Free, free of charge. Store, store (not the store, the content will NEVER be paying).

To install it you have two options:
    - Using the PKG file that is at the end of this post and install it like any other PKG (in the readme.txt file specified as)
    - Use the PSP store and get the PS3 version from there. Once downloaded, connect your PSP in USB mode to the PS3 and install the PKG file from the PS3 XMB.

Do not forget that to suggest improvements, new content, ideas, etc … you have the forum at your disposal and MhuFS@MHU2D.netEsta email address is being protected from spam bots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

You have to go to "Instal_PKG"
Make sure you have the PKG folder mounted, in the stores settings.

      This app is awesome.

they have to mount the folder and download what you want.
I just cant remove it from the mounted folder after i use it.

It will be awesome if this have a system like Cydia, where you can add external soucers in the installer...
If this is even possible, think about that in the todo list :D

I've always been wondering - is there a risk of getting banned when using it, and is there a risk of getting banned when being connected to the internet and browsing with you ps3, but not logged in to PSN?

This isn't PSN, so no you cant get banned whilst using it.

I know it is not PSN, but still, all this time I've totally disconnected my PS3 from the internet. You're saying it is safe to use internet on the PS3 when jailbroken? I always figured that SONY can access any PS3 on the internet, regardless if it's connected to the PSN. So I was wrong? If that is 100% correct, than thanx a lot, Greg.

Well mine is always connected to the internet, just never connected to PSN, not sure if Sony can do anything, but im sure it would be illegal if the tried outside PSN.

At this time, we really don't know what sony is capable of. If you use PS3Prox, you will notice that the system DOES connect to Sony servers, even when not logged in. It is not entirely out of the range of possibility that Sony could detect your firmware version (or even specifics attributes of the firmware), or at least read the name of the game running. If that name was something like "Open Manager" then they would have you. It is really hard to say because we don't have the source code to see what (if any) mechanisms are inside the PS3, and we also don't know what (if any) mechanisms they might be able to activate remotely.

...But this is sony; even if they can't remote-brick your console, they can detect, "Open Manager" running, and they can log your IP...then they can start suing people.

Alright guys, I used the first release of MHU Freestore on the psp and it was just as buggy. It would or wouldnt work depending on what cfw you were running. Just give the team some time and I'm sure they'll sort everything out. Thats one of my favorite apps for the psp now. I havent tested this yet but I'm about to. Again, just give them time, this is the first release.

After I download something and install it, how do I get rid of it in my "install packages".

Do I have to FTP and delete it??

Perhaps a delete function in a future revision

Thanx for your answers, guys. Then I guess I will have to wait and see what are Sony's next moves, and what kind of measures they will take against whom. And in the meantime, I guess I will keep my PS3 off the internet entirely. :/
