Here is the leaked file for the psdowngrade with setup instructions and how to use it. The files used to flash the PSDowngrade and its readme have also leaked! These files are for a specific person’s dongle. So there is no reason for the average user to try and flash them. However, they may be reversed, which would lead to a free method of downgrading.
The readme references files such as lv2diag.self and a modified 3.41 pup file. For those of you that don’t know, lv2diag.self is the name of a file used in conjunction with Sony’s official Service Jig. It seems the jailbreak team has reverse engineered that jig, this time around.
How to Install/ Use PS Updater
Installation
Step 1 – Download PS Updater
Step 2 – Click start button and type in the search bar UAC and click on User Account Control Settings listed above. Inside this menu please lower the settings to lowest priority, Save and restart the computer.
Step 3 – Unrar/Unzip and click on setup.exe
Step 4 – follow the steps by clicking next until you reach the point of setup where it asks you to plug in your device
Step 5 – plus in PS Jailbreak device and click next
Step 6 – choose Unknown Device #1 from the list and click next
Step 7 – click save to save the .ini file under the place it wants
Step 8 – Click install driver and now complete installationUSE
Step 1 – Open PS Updater application that install a shortcut on your desktop
Step 2 – Plug in PS Jailbreak and click My Serial (make sure it can recognize and find your serial number)
Step 3 – Click My coupons and enter the coupon code you received from your authorized reseller when purchasing PS Downgrader.
Step 4 – Save the download it prompts you with ( You will receive 2 files , a) Program (which is PS Jailbreak) and b) Downgrade (which is your downgrader)
Step 5 – Go install file choose the Downgrader file and click Update now
Step 6- After using PS Downgrade to lower your firmware please follow the above steps this time choosing to update file a) Program
Step 7 – Now your PS Jailbreak is back to a ModchipDowngrader
requirement – PS Jailbreak USB Dongle , PS Downgrade Coupon that has been installed onto your PS Jailbreak Device, Modified 3.41 PUP , LV2Diag.self (file 1) and LV2Diag.self (file 2)Step 1 – Insert PS Jailbreak device that has been reprogrammed as PS Downgrade into your console
Step 2 – Turn on console using same boot method as PS Jailbreak – Press Power then immediately press eject. You will see your console turn with PS Jailbreak lit up with red/green light followed by green only, Then it will turn off.
Step 3 – Turn on console to make sure you are in factory service mode. You will see a huge red box on the screen saying Factory Service Mode, once confirmed please turn off console and remove PS Downgrade Dongle
Step 4 – Program any blank usb with 2 files , A) modified 3.41 pup B) Lv2Diag.self (file 1) These must be the only files on the usb key and must be placed in the main directory of the flash drive.
Step 5 – Insert this new Flash drive into the right USB PORT of your console ( It must be placed in the outermost right port) and turn the console on. You will see black screen but you will see flashing lights on the console (yellow) and on your USB key
Step 6 – Wait 3 minutes for the system to install the old FW, towards the end the power button on the console will start flashing green and then your console will power off.
Step 7 – Remove the usb key and turn on the console , you will still be in factory service mode. Please verify you have downgraded successfully to version 3.41
Step 8 (Optional) – If you wish to downgrade to any older firmware you can not follow step 4,5,6 using any regular firmware PUP. (You do not need to use modified custom firmware now that you are on 3.41)
Step 9 – Insert flash drive back into PC , remove the PUP and Lv2Diag.self and install only LV2Diag.self (file 2) on the USB Flash Drive
Step 10 – Power on your console, after 10 seconds it will power off
Step 11 – Turn on your console with no USB inserted and you will be out of factory service mode into retail mode with your chosen firmware version installed.JAilbreak your console and enjoy playing homebrew
In addition, the official PS Jailbreak team announced via their website, the legitimacy of PS Downgrade. Stating their device now supports 3.42, 3.50 and beyond. However, I wouldn’t upgrade just yet, as this seems like just an advertising push for their downgrade, not actual support for 3.42 and 3.50.

what the hell is the point of this apart from getting off 3.50 and 3.42 to just goto 3.41?
i really dont get it or understand why they havnt jailbroken 3.42 or 3.50 lmfao.
its because they cant.
PSJailbreak is still a complete waste of money as your paying to just rollback thats it!!!.
PSDowngrade nor PSJailbreak will support games requiring fw 3.42 and above.

excuse me my post IS NOT a massive fail at all. in future all new games will have calls necessary to run or will eventually crash. unless coders know what to put in the custom fw or hex or whatever then that will be a massive FAIL not me.
i know what im talking about and so do you. im fully aware of PSN online as ive been on home since the minute it was posted thankyou. how long this will last is anyones guess. lets think of a way that in future a game could crash? ps3 user playing GT5 and your 3.41 does'nt have an elite super dooper new trophy feature but the game thinks you have because you are pretending to be fw 3.51 for example.
i very much doubt hackers will be able to keep on fixing ways for new games that require higher firmware? you cant keep on using out of date files and expect it to be flawless m8.

i have a slim ps3(on 3.40) and fat ps3 (3.41) so i dont not require this (i dont have orginal psjailbreak either), but here is my oppinion, if anyone cares! lol
please correct me if im wrong, but psjailbreak are chargeing customers who bought the orginal psjailbreak for this addon? how can these people sleep at night? i mean their dongle was so overpriced in the first place can they really expect customers to pay for this, which may only be useable once? WTF?? if i was a customer and i purchased there item, i would feel robbed and certainly would not be inclined to purchase this off them.
anyway, im sure this will get open-sourced at some point but im thinking it might take a while compared to last time.
also i dont quite understand how they would implement the use once tactic, would they blow an efuse in the ps3 or something? can someone please elaborate on this?
and i also think that they know how to jailbreak firmware 3.42 and 3.50 onwards but are holding back until they have milked the psdowngrade cow before releasing (this just MY oppinion).
please correct me on my mistakes and keep up the great work PS3HAX!!!

The original source of the leak was PSX Scene regardless of when you got the files, i think that's why this threads OP chose PSX Scene as the source.

This is indeed great news! Especially since we can now play online on 3.41. However, I think it's really f**ked up that you have to pay every time you want to downgrade. Then again, I don't think anyone is stupid enough to update twice...

spinifex08 is right the new assassin's creed was made with the 3.50 sdk so it will not work on 3.41 plus what about mass effect 2 infamous 2 and all the other future games were gonna need cfw or a new jailbreak if only i could code i would do something :musicus: right now i'm just about to begin a semester in coding but this thing still is useful for the people who updated accidentally or purposely

wasn't there someone already weeks ago who figured out how to get PS3 into service mode. I can remember that screenshot with the big red "service mode" message ...
maybe that's enough already to get it into normal service mode, then downgrade with the modified pup and self file !?!?!?

If you get the original now, you can buy the official downgrade too and jailbreak etc the day you get it. Otherwise just be patient and it'll hopefully be here soon. You'll need a jailbreak device to put the free version on too, but hopefully iPods etc will get it too.
