Here’s an update of the nullDC emulator being worked on by drk||Raziel:
According to developer drk||Raziel, the nullDC emulator has been successfully compiled using the open source PSL1GHT SDK and is running as should, but there are a few problems ahead. -jailbreakscene.com
from developer drk||Raziel:
the good : ndce compiles and works with psl1ght
the bad: it has no 3d out yet. This was quite a bit more complex than initially thought, and I had far less time than planned.
the ugly: I’m leaving for vacations tomorrow, so don’t expect anything fancy the following week
Ooh awesome. Too bad that I guess it wouldn't be possible to play them off of the discs since Dreamcast games are on GD-ROMs. Still really cool if this emulator will run smoothly someday!

Uhhh, I don't think you know what you're talking about...I have a case full of copied Dreamcast CDs....
this is funny because gd-roms are no different from cds anyway.
you wont require a different laser to read them or anything, this is why the dreamcast was a big flop when it came to piracy.
I thought the GD-ROM was a higher density and can't be read by CD readers, only the inner portion of the disc can be read by a CD reader because it is CD density. The middle portion has no data. The outer portion is the high density area.
It doesn't really matter either way though because you can download just about every Dreamcast ISO at http://www.dcisozone.com
I find it funny that they release a beta...and choose to "keep" it at beta forever. I guess they gave up on working on it. What was the point in even doing one in the first place if they were going to not even try?
I wonder if this is still in the workings...this info was brought to us 4 weeks ago...this is by far (besides CFW) one of the biggest things i want for the ps3...Dreamcast was one of the best, most under-rated systems ever!!! So many hits 2k series, Sonic Adventure 1,2 Shenmue, Crazy Taxy, Blue Stinger, I mean the list goes on and on. I hope its coming and I am eagerly awaiting its release. ^_^
I don't want to discourage you all but as I said, if somebody doesn't change the way that it 'emulates' the Processor of DC (on PS3's Cell) it won't happen at all, it takes over too much power/resources on PS3 to do a double recompilation (DC->PC->PS3) and just porting the source code strictly on PS3 from PC is nonsense. Also since the source code is not publically available the chances are getting even more close to zero for that to function at all...
This is what blocks us from kinda any emulator that is ported from X86 systems's source code.

Did you research anything before making this statement?

I think he's talking about the original retail discs, not backups.
So he does have some idea of what he's talking about.
