If Sony put more effort into their console and put the money they are wasting in court into R&D for new features and security etc then the scene would be over quicker than this long winded attempt at fighting.

Sony dropped the ball, they should learn from it and move on, it's the only realistic way!

...but if the Ps3 was never actually "hacked" but instead was a leak of a service jig etc then its hardly Sonys fault,is it?
      Just askin???

If I pay good money for a PS3 and want to load Homebrew or have it do things that Sony can't be arsed to allow then that is my issue and I should be allowed to do so, I can understand the Piracy matter and don't condone it but if the prices weren't so steep then nobody would have to get into piracy in the first place.
I don't understand why Sony don't allow Homebrew etc to be implemented by users, if a user doesn't want to use PSN then they should be allowed to do as they wish with their own machine - anybody who wants the updates and to use PSN then has a choice of their own to make. I personally upgraded to 3.50 by mistake and I haven't found any benefit to it, I could go online if I hadn't updated thru Kai so PSN is of no use to me anyway, but I would rather have the choice of whether I wanted to use what they try to force on me or not, after all I don't have to use the Microsoft network just cos I run Windows 7 on my Laptop and PC !!

This might be worth mentioning to the lawyers,
$ony are trying to sue the wrong people!

If only they spent so much time and effort trying
to make the PS3 do EVERYTHING, they wouldn't
      be in this bloody predicament.

Imho it has been $ony's stance that has resulted in the consoles being jailbreaked. Downgrading of the consoles advertised features to suit company needs is a slap in the face to any consumer, whether it be backwards compatibility or other OS.

The ps3 jailbreak scene I think has some of the most passionate fans of the Playstation 3 anywhere; we are just not fans of the company that chooses to downgrade the product that we purchased in good faith. Give us back what you've taken and/or improve upon your product, and maybe we won't have a need to make our own improvements to it.

      Dear judge Richard Seeborg,

After stealing the complete linux OS from thousands of people they started to create jailbreak devices to try to get their OtherOS back.

Please confirm we are legal criminals at Sony and it is totally normal to remove important options we advertised with and people paid for and giving people info about how they can get it back is a big crime.

And they discovered how they can use backups of their original game BD's because of our criminal act that was the start for PS3 jailbreak devices. Do you understand judge how much money we lose when people don't buy a second copy of their beloved games if their original is damaged?

So please judge, show the world giving info is a crime and stealing software if you are a very big company isn't.

      Thank you.

Edit: Sony, you removed the OtherOS to prevent jailbreaking. Well the jailbreak is here for a while now so I see no reason not to give OtherOS back. The damage to yourself by removing it has already been done.
And I had to buy another PS3 for updating because I want to keep the OtherOS on my 3.15 Fat. So yeah, you ripped me off also. Only knowing you loose money on every PS3 made me smile while buying the second one So your action to remove the OtherOS did cost us both money so it was a stupid move.

this is why sony didnt invest 500 million into the move its investing 500 million into court fees and paying off people well played sony

if you had this kind of motivation towards the good of your console maybe you wouldnt be in third place behind xbox 360 and the wii -_-

a more interesting point worth mentioning would be that Sony stole The OTHER OS option with the upgrade therefore causing more consumers to jailbreak their consoles not because of piracy(yes piracy is there but in very few amounts) but because to get the OTHER OS option which sony has taken away due to firmware upgrades and yes users can do exactly what they want with their consoles as they have paid for it so it becomes their property to jailbreak or to run homebrew if they wish IN MY OPINION SONY ARE THE REAL PIRATES here taking back what is not theirs to remove "OTHER OS" if they had to remove why put it there in the first place right

Sony is loosing money to saved the ps3 system,
if they loose the ps3 control by updating on any firmware,
in the near future, we are going to paid to acces the psn (online gaming)...

      i think is inevitable!

In Short Sony are Desperate but in a way sony should drop the entire with a console being jailbroken and able to load homebrew Sales of Sony are likely to go up as more consumers would be wanting to buy their console in order to play games as well as homebrew with that in mind sony would be a bit more wealthier Im seriously confused why Sony didn't think this through this would also make users happy to purchase a console which would allow homebrew and proper gaming. JAILBREAKING COMMUNITY FTW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(aka Jerry)

Sony want a first time, preserve the ps3 system, by removing OtherOS option
by accepting the "license" included into all update! like it or not!...
that's the "vanity" from egohot! who made that! egohot just want to be the first, do nothing more!!

just before a system called "Z??" appear in some video over the net, all ppls says it's fakes (me too) but no one think or know, the chinese put hand on a factory usb device devoted to the ps3 maintenance....

what they want?with this bizzare video? pre market response? testing sale ??

now we know, all the jb are the same clone! for updating some devices, is not free!!!
if you use a jb for didn't pay when you choose a download! for your ps3
why pay for a JB update that is useless few week after ???

Who is insane, Sony or all differents oportuniste manufacturer of JB devices !
      who is the robber!!!

If I had a couple of billion dollars, I would buy every ps3 I could get my hands on and burn them all; WITHOUT buying any games!
Now that would a fun one to watch sony toast their 'chestnuts' on.

I don't think the games are too expensive, I mean Sony loses money on every ps3 sold so they have to sell games right?
I just think it's messed that they took away functionality.
      That's what got me pissed.

Its sonys fault for bad internal control, and if sony is losing money on each console then what kind of business are they running, we cant be held responsible for their actions.
