KaKaRoToKs has sure been busy these last few days. Today he posted on his Twitter that he and Xtse have managed to downgrade PS3 FW 3.55 to PS3 FW 3.41. He does say he is not ready to release the method just yet due to the risk of bricking PS3 consoles, but once perfected he promises to release it soon

I have a p3go dongle and like a dumbass I updated to 3.55cfw 2 days ago instead of 3.41cfw soofcourse I can longer launch gaia manager & have been anxiously awaiting to downgrade back to 3.41

Just a thought...
With seeing that now we can decrypt the OFW of 3.55 is it possible to "dual boot" the ps3 between the OFW or CFW of 3.41 and the OFW 3.55 via the USB.
Like having the 3.55 FW loaded on the USB drive and then while in 3.41 boot into the 3.55 so we can play online with our retail games and then boot into 3.41 when we want to play homebrew like SNES?

Idk if thats possible because i believe that the because the ps3 hardrive needs to be formatted.
like this a ps3 HDD on 2xx needs to be formatted once it hit 3.00. the samething happens when it hit 3.55.
I know this because I have three HDD 80GB, 250Gb and original 60GB.
so whenever I upgrade or downgrade I use a diff HDD to prevent my loss of data and my ps3 asked me to format my HDD. But when I updated it worked fine

they said a network update, not the same as a firmware update. they are as we speak, installing this mfw on their ps3's and seeing what network psn differences they can tell from the official firmware. they might not be able to see anything just yet. idk, but i expect a few people will be getting the psn banhammer once they are able to see the differences.

With all due respect as well, maybe you should pay attention to the article that you read in full! If you would have, you would've noticed that the part you quoted was not a comment from sony but instead from the person writing the article. He states that it would be a firmware update as to where sony's comment only mentions a series of Network updates! People need to start enjoying the scene a little more quietly rather than jumping in and pointing out someones "spelling" errors or typos or what nots!!!

Pirate, according to the tweet, I didn't see him promising anything. I'm almost sure he will release it but I think promising is a little much cause I've seen "promises" made and it ended up it was the news site reporting it making the promise.

now, i know sony will be issuing firmware updates left and right just to play cat and mouse and to keep the devs are their toes. but first will be the network updates that will be able to sniff the differences between mfw/cfw and ofw. i believe this to be common sense.
i don't think for a second sony won't be flooding us with 3.57 3.58 3.59, ect in the coming weeks and just to show they haven't quit the war.
we may have won the battle but the war is far from over.....
and i just want to also add
