Kmeaw (who made the popular Kmeaw CFW) has updated his LV2 patcher to fix various issues people were having, including the crashing issues. You can probably expect the major backup managers to incorporate this next LV2 update in the future so hang tight as the updates roll in.
Changelog:
- Font pixel doubling.
- Add indentation rules.
- Change patch format.
- Version bump.
- Reindent the code using new Makefile (make indent).
- Prepare to share some code with GaiaManager.
- Fix some crashes by disabling some of the patches.
Please note that this MAY conflict with BM that currently auto-patch upon launch.

Great, I had numerous crash issues with the first version. Hopefully multiman will include this soon.

@bosshog In theory you should not need this with The latest Gaia Manager because it runs the last version of lv2.pkg.
However I get black screen to freeze running past version of lv2.pkg
From a fresh reboot. (By fresh reboot I mean not having it freeze and having the pull the power)
I run this current version of lv2.pkg followed by fixpermissions.pkg then launch the latest gaia manager. I am able to load legal backups with this process.
I'm sure Gaia Manager team will integrate this version of lv2.pkg into their next release very soon.

On the ps3, it will depend on how easy it is to modify (previously signing would have been an issue).
So just wait and see to see if something pops up.

i was thinking of making a new web browser for the ps3.. kylo would be a kick ass way of watching netflix to.. how hard is to write a web browser that worked with ps3? that way i can cfw and run netflix with out getting on psn.. can i access ps3 web browser through the hdd and open it to see how they wrote it to get an idea?

Anybody got kmeaw lv2 pkg v4 working with multiman 1.13.1 or another manager. I'm currently on 3.41 with multiman 1.12.5 should I stay on this firmware.

I'm using kmeaw with one prob. MW 2 goes black an i'm using Gaia. going to DL the new lv.2 patch. if this works, my kids and i can play against each other. wish me luck!!! lol

Can I run this if I´m using Rogero_Manager_v7.9a_Waninkoko_Kmeaw_AutoPatch_OFW3.41_CFW3.55_Stealth_ID? or should I wait for a Rogero Manager update? Some games like Motorstorm or Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition are getting Black Screen.

you need to run a bm without lv2 patch after. Its working fine for my with Open Manager, proved with 4 games in the same session and it doesn´t crashed.

This seems alot more stable for me using kmeaw and rogero 7.8. WAs getting random crashes esp when exiting back to xmb. Since switching to this new lvl 2 patch hasnt crashed yet...

I installed stock 3.55 over my old Geohot patched firmware.
Then I patched the Kmeaw firmware myself exactly as the instructions told me to do. Kmeaw installs up to about 30% and then jumps quickly to 100%.
My PS3 FAT restarts with all of my packages in tact, as it should.
The first game I backed up was Bayonetta. To my pleasant surprise, Bayonetta works PERFECTLY.
So then, I backup Black Ops.
To my disappointment, Black Ops doesn't work no matter what backup manager I use.
The HDD light blinks for about 5 second and then I just get a black screen.
I have all of the latest backup managers and I've even tried the direct boot on Rogero, as I have been told would work for Black Ops.
So then, I tried to backup GTA. Same problem as with Black Ops.
Now, even with the Lv2v4.pkg, the only backup that works for me is Bayonetta.
Could someone PLEASE give me some advice???

Did you try latest Gaia Manager with fixpermissions.pkg?
Delete Game Data
Run the lastest LV2 OMG OMG OMG then fixpermissions.pkg
Try agian. Make sure your using orig. eboot and not modified eboot.

Through the FTP,iv copied to the folder that Backup Manger told me.

I have no clue what i do wrong no managers work for me I got 3.55.cfw Kmeaws
tried alot of games.. some games it sees updates but it wont play with or without game update..... Downloaded games again the raw versions allso no go... got a fat with 2 usb ports with a custum hdd that works great.
Managers worked on 3.41 but non worked sofar on 3.55 yes i tryed the lv2 l4 but also no go. Please help

Got alot of games working except COD modern warfare. I have the original disk and copied it to my backup but after the very first title screen, it goes black.
Any suggestion?
Working games so far for me includes:
COD Black Ops
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
NFS Hot Pursuit
God of War 3
Vanquish
Final Fantasy 13
NBA Jam
Madden 10
Madden 11
Tekken 6
Street Fighter 4

none of my backups are still working.i tried assasin's creed, cod modern warfare, every game i launch just goes into a black screen. the kmeaw cfw installed perfectly. i used the lv2 v4 pkg and ran it, it said installed 1 payloads and 4 patches and then i exited. i ran rogero v7.8 because it says that the BMs with the lv2 patch might interfere with the BMs. everything works fine until i actually load the game. it just gives me a black screen and crashes. COULD SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!?

I am using kmeaw cfw as well and I'm using multiMAN 1.13.01/02 BM and all those games work for me. If your using an external hdd that is FAT32, make sure all the files are there and if there are big files over 4gb, split it then transfer the game into internal hdd and multiMAN will JOIN them automatically.
As stated above, the only games not working for me right now is COD Modern Warfare.
Hope this helps.
Also with multiMAN I did not need to run this patch. Just make sure you run it from your dummy disk. Any Game disk will do as long it's for a PS3.

Im new to this, and I acquired this PS3 just yesterday. It had the yellow light, and I fixed it, so the guy gave it to me. It is the old non-wireless 20gig. I cant seem to get anything to work. I have been reading and reading, trying and trying, but cant get it. Ive got kmeaw CFW installed with the latest LV2 patcher. Ive tried all of the backup managers. Ive followed every step to the T. I have one game, Rainbow Vegas 2. I opened up the backup manager, copied my game to the internal hard drive, and my fat32 external hard drive, went through all the processes, and it doesnt work. The game will start to load, get about 4 or 5 seconds into the bootup logo, then completely freeze up. I apologize for the noobness, and if there is someone who can help me, or if you need more info, please let me know.

This didn't solve anything the games still won't boot from the xmb. i backed up assasin's creed to my internal hdd and when i launch it with any backup manager it just freezes. could someone help me?

If your games are freezing with a black screen, delete the installed game data and then run the game.

these custom firmwares r rubbish not one of them works propper, i have tried all, and they just freeze all the time and lock the ps3 up, so not worth trying if anything is thinking of trying, no where near complete none of them

I try for first time to install Kmeaw CFW in a PS3 Fat 40GB.
I install from recovery mode and i install Multiman BM and LV2 V4 Patcher.
Everything works fine,Multiman is Full Compatible with Kmeaw CFW and very simple and automatic.
But i occured one problem when i try install COD MW2.
Everything looks fine but when i try to start the game black screen and nothing happen.
In application folder the Update Patch of the other games looks fine,but the MW2 data is Grey without icon no corrupted just grey.
I try to download the latest 1.11 i think patch and i install the game again and nothing change.
Any solution?
Have anybody a working backup of COD MW2 and how?

A patched for 3.41 Black OPS will not work. It must have the unpatched original files to work.
