• Kmeaw Lv2 v6 (Fix Permissions)

    PS3 Custom Firmware (CFW), PS3 Hacks , 24.01.2011

    For everyone using multiman v1.13.03/04, this is a much needed upgraded app for you. Lv2 by Kmeaw has just been updated to v6, but most the important updates were done to v4/5 in which most people missed.

      anyone managed to run AC2 brotherhood on kneaw CFW? how? tried with this patch+fix permissions+gaia/multiman and nothing.

      If you just use Wutangrza, then you don't experience freezing. I had wutang and switched to see what the hype was about and to load "dead space extraction.pkg" since it was unsigned. Had to pull my cord about 10 times in 2 days with kmeaw's CrapFW. Switched back and runs like a dream again. I would suggest not using kmeaw till he fixs the bugs.

      Interesting, using this LV2 v6 i cannot mount any games it just shows the bluray, i tried gaia, multiman, rogero. All failed.

      So i reboot the ps3 and use just the new version of gaia without running lv2 v6, it works fine.

      this happened here after launching GAIA, no lv2 v6, that mounts games well with multiman

      if yours isnt working you need to delete all your mw2 data on the ps3 and the folder and re extract it out. your using a modified eboot or pram... just go back to original and she loads right up like a champ, run the update you can download from the psn website and boom good to go

      Update the game to 1.02 using the retail update for your region.

      You need to read more carefully. These 2 users are talking about MW2...Modern Warfare 2, not Black Ops.

      I am glad that it works for you. I am not complaining, I actually have extremely limited time and I just wanted to know quickly if there is a way to get it to work so my sister can play. I had tried it with the original psfreedom jailbreak without getting it to work that's why I asked.

      I don't play FPS games on PS3, I almost never touch the PS3 actually.

      Since that works then I am going to update my 3.41 to 3.55 and put MW2 so my sister can have her game.

      @the.ghost.86 I think he meant that MW2 works perfectly, but thanks for the explanation

      A general question would be is everything completely cracked now so every game works ?

      Is installed Gaia 2.5 then lvl2 V.6 ran lvl2 V.6, then opened gaia 2.5 exited then removed Lvl2 v.6 then ran Gaia 2.5 again and everything worked perfect.

      I found running Lvl2. v.6 before running gaia 2.5 makes the boot not work correctly so once you, to the lvl2 open gaia then restart your system then remove lvl2 and the disk will show up the installed game and not the game thats on the disk. Because if you run lvl2 v.6 every-time before running gaia, your game will show up as the real disk.

      easy enough to understand.

      I managed to get LBP2 working using this setup:
      CFW Kmeaw
      lv2-v6
      fixpermissions thing
      multiman 1.13.01

      I put the game in dev_hdd0/GAMEZ
      however, assassins creed brotherhood is also in the folder but doesn't show up in the list. I tried booting it from the built-in filemanager but when I load the game from the last game option, I get booted back to xmb.
      I've tried every combination possible (multiman 1.13.01 to .04, different gaia manager versions, rogero etc, nothing works). only method working is the modified eboot in GH's cfw. Anyone managed to start brotherhood from the backup loader??

      tl;dr: lbp2 works, brotherhood doesn't, why and how do I fix it?

      yes you have to run this pkg after every boot. I sure hope this feature can/gets implemented in future cfw's

      let me correct you on a couple of issues. first, your links are broken. second, Black ops works perfectlly for me. your updates are for black ops. not MW2. and last, please read carefully. BTW, there is a working solution for Mw2 to work now. Thanks for your attempt at helping but it really wasn't any help at all for me.

      i hope when i get home, and backup some new video games. i wouldn't be stress of getting a crash. so "thank kmeaw's" and ps3hack's.

      My ps3 shuts down automatically when iīm playing any backup game...i dontīt know what is wrong.
      Anyone have ideas to solve this problem?

      I backed up my assassin cred 1,
      fix permisions
      then ran the game, BUt just ended up wid a black screen..WTF

      I installed GH then KMEAW and now when I try to play a game i backed up using GAIA MANAGER (latest) to GAMES (COD4) i click play in GAIA MANAGER then it puts me back to the XMB, I click my backed up game that comes up in the disc thing, it loads the very first COD4 screen then freezes on black screen. same happens if i try to do it to mw2 or black ops... help please :P

      I've tryed 10 different games now, all DL and they work....

      You just need a games, any game in the PS3 and load up a game from Multiman...

      This works if you Back up from Multiman or DL a game and transfer trough FTP...

      Does Kmeaw CFW work with the new LBP2 + ps3 320GB bundle? It's a new console, and i heard that Sony made some changes to the hardver, so Jailbreak wont work with them, but will CFW work? It wont brick or anything right?

      I have a ps3 slim 320gb, came with 3.40 on it. Currently running kmeaw 3.55, so yeah you can jailbreak them.

      Only problem atm is gta4 is not working, 1.0 works, but when I install the game update it loops at loading screen, not tried the lv3 fix yet, any1 know if that solves it?

      you can install kmaew on any model, and as long as you follow the guide exactly you will be fine.

      as far as i know there have no bricks from this CFW

      you don't need the Lv2 patcher any more, install bdemu2.pkg instead.
      that will run your backups without the need for running lv2 patcher before playing a backup.
