• PSP/PS3 Game decrypter Released

    Mathieulh has just released his PSP/PS3 Game decrypter via his <a href=”http://twitter.com/Mathieulh”>Twitter.

    To quote readme:

    PSP PS3 PKG Decrypter Extractor v.1.0.0.0 by Mathieulh

    - What does this do ?
    This will decrypt and extract Playstation 3, Playstation Portable and mixed GAME PACKAGES (NOT UPDATER ONES !) onto your pc.

    How do I use it ?

    Just open the package you want to extract or drag and drop it and click on “Extract package”

    Can I run this on Linux ?

    Sorry this app is windows only, however full sources have been supplied along with it so feel
    free to make a Linux port out of it, you have my blessing.

    Can This encrypt/sign my game packages ?

    NO, when this application was written, the main concern was about packages decryption, so that part
    was kinda skipped, however it is trivial to do the reverse operation, remember, sources are supplied.

    Here is the little story, this little app was done since litterally AGES , distributed to a very small amount of people,
    and was conveniently designed and used to decrypt packages and repack them on our debug consoles so we wouldn’t
    have to QA flag them to update our games or install games we purchased from the ps store.
    The algorithm was a bit of a pain to reverse but the keys could be easily grabbed with a
    lv2 exploit. So here we are, this app was done but the problem is it couldn’t be leaked because
    I and a few other people who were entrusted with it, were kinda afraid that sony would change the
    keys and fix whatever exploits we had (turned out they didn’t) but since we can now get whatever
    new keys they add/change this has become a quite irrelevant concern. The next concern was piracy.
    There was nothing at the time justifying a release for that application, most people would just
    not have a legit use for it so releasing was out of the question.

    So what changed our minds ? Well, ccc happened, and Segher (props to him !) figured how to
    conveniently calculate private keys and suddenly a legit use appeared, as people would/might need
    to encrypt their packages to install their own signed apps onto their consoles.
    This is not a 1:1 algorithm port as it’s been improved, thus the decryption happens 3 times as
    fast as on playstation 3.

    Since people suddenly became interested in the game packages format, we just thought releasing that
    app would spare them the (hours of) work of reversing the encryption algorithm and that this code
    would not go to waste.

    Special thanks to someone who helped a lot but whishes to remain anonymous.

      Is there ps3 game encrypter available? So one could decrypt and then encrypt a game back to .pkg.

      Could be fun and useless to modify some psn games this way, since you could install them via kakaroto's trick. Probably wouldn't even work, but whatever.

      i think this is all bull****...this whole not condoning piracy...:thefinger: yes we all condone it ! you have messed with the firmware the security well everything just like sony asked you not to do...so your pirating...what do pirates do? steal/find the keys that unlock the tresure chest...who the **** goes to the bank guns a blazing ask for the money and to open the vault and then yells out j/k j/k i just wanted to withdrawl my money from my account...tell me who does that? for these people to make tools to do a full on "bank robbery" then disable the "roberry" feature WTF...this stupid if your intensions were to make the ps3 do everything y turn back last minute...sony is going to **** your tight white little butthole no matter what...remember sony is nothing to **** with...they can and problably sue them there mamas and papas the whole family and make them regret they had them...so that said **** it go all the way "rob" that mutha ****ing "bank" for all its worth...this was some serious security breach not just this ps jail break ****...100% security breach stop being *****es and lets do this **** ! this is for you failoverblowjob and geonot want to get sued...*****es...and i know theres people out there like me but scared to talk ****...fags!

      well, we know now where mattieulle's standpoint is on piracy, he fully supports it.. no matter what he has done for the community, he's a big twat for supporting piracy.. So I really don't mind if they will sue him..

      @RAZOR1993. Didn't you ever use .NET? Why do you even bother trying the app then... Have a look in: PSP_PS3_PKG_Decrypter_Extractor_v.1.0.0.0\PSP PS3 PKG Decrypter Extractor v.1.0.0.0\PSP PS3 PKG Decrypter_Extractor\bin\Release\PS3 PSP PKG Decrypter & Extractor.exe

      Finally a program in C#.NET instead of all this c++ stuff.

      Well ,with a 25mb pkg ,it just take a few second ;it's really fast .
      But with a 2Gb pkg (lbp2 demo ) it take more than 3 minute where the ps3 install it on 1-2 minute .

      But why he dont add the repack function ?
      It's just all we want .
      Imagine with this function ,we can pkg a game like a demo .

      Worked fine for me. Tried Splatterhouse Qore theme and it extracts a 1.raw file.

      It came out as a 1.raw file cuz it's spelled too big.reduce the letters in it to something shorter.

      Unless someone writes a real PSP-emulator for the PS3 it won't be possible, the PSP-keys are already used to be able to 'jailbreak' the PSP without the cumbersome imageloadinghack.. That's the advantage of the PSP, you could already load content directly from a memorystick, but you needed to sign it if you wanted to load the content without hacking the PSP, but due to the keys it's now possible to sign the homebrew.. Sony didn't make that mistake with the PS3, it isn't possible without jailbreaking it to have a game/homebrew show up in the XMB directly from an USB-stick (or memorystick if you still have the old 60GB version), if that would be possible, then you only had to sign homebrew and it would work on any non-hacked PS3..
