Updates follow on the bottom. Drizzt has released another method to bypass the PS3 3.55 FW update. These tools basically replace what Charles proxy and MaraDNS do, and is a bit easier than the previous posted methods.

12. Start fuckPsn.exe
13. Enjoy with PSN

as primary dns use that ip thats under the name of your ethernet/wifi adapter/modem
as secondary dns use that ip that is in "DNS Servers" or use 8.8.8.8
if it doesnt work, check if your firewall isnt blocking you

Just an honest opinion for everyone, from a programmers point of view.
I honestly don't see this getting that much easier.
No matter what you do, you have to replace the cert and run a DNS server on a PC.
This is just about as easy as it can get for this method.

to know your PRIMARY + SECONDARY DNS
go to your PC .. Start - Run - cmd
write "ipconfig" without quote
the IPv4 Address is the PRIMARY DNS
the Default Gateway is the SECONDARY DNS - But U need to enter 8.8.8.8 if it didn't work for you
then Automatic - Do Not Use - Enable
and test the connection .. after the test complete .. reboot your ps3
and continue the steps

This worked immediately! I have gone through the first two tutorials (the one that used VMware and Charles, and the one that just used Charles) and they worked for me and I really appreciate the people who made the guides but this is by far the best method, especially because it doesn't require Charles, which is not a free program!

haleskinn, i had that too. make sure your ip address that your router sees your playstation as is the ip you put in ps3 network settings and use the ip from ps3dns(when it asks if this is your ip) as your primary dns in ps3 network settings. worked for me. also try using your router default ip as secondary as well.

been trying this out since the first version with charles and vmware all the way through to this version. they've all worked fine for me, but with one consistant and annoying problem. some games, namely Playstation HOME and the killzone 3 beta, give me a 4001 error. from what ive heard this is a DNS related problem. i've tried configuring the secondary DNS many different ways according to many recomendations. has anyone else had a similar problem or found a way to fix it?
Oh and just adding: these errors did not occour proir to using this trick. i could connect to these fine before the 3.56 update came out.
EDIT2: Just for reference, im using wifi... in case that helps. just going to try more games to see which others have the problem

Finally, after fūckng with this for hours on one of my systems, I managed to figure this out.
The original solution is to go into command prompt & use a netstat command to list all ports being used. You could then "determine which process is using that port". My issue is that the process number listed was not showing up in task manager... meaning it was most likely a service running in the background. Port 80 is used mainly by web servers, FTP, etc.
Windows 7 (and Vista I believe) have built in "IIS" services to accommodate you if you wish to turn your system into a server, somewhat.
The fix is to disable the IIS service.
To do so:
Start -> Control Panel -> Programs
"Turn Windows features on or off"
UN-check the box completely for "Internet Information Services"
Click "OK" and let Windows disable the service for you.
This SHOULD then let you run Charles/FūckPS3 if you previously had issues with them crashing/giving you those errors.
Hope that helps.
Or if you dont want to completely uninstall IIS, try this (Vista, Win7):
1. Open control panel
2. Double click administration tools (switch to classic view if you cant find it)
3. Double click "Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager"
4. In the connections window on the left, right click on your computer name and choose stop.
If you want to re-enable IIS, do the above but in the last step choose start instead.

it works great for me,i think the error is caused by renaming the ca24.cer to .bak,thats what gave me the error,it needs to look like a certificate on your desktop if that makes sence.when i changed it to .bak it looked like an empty file.hope that helps

Yes I just tried using 8.8.8.8 as the Secondard DNS knida weird why you would use that but it dosn't work, I still got the (80710A06) error message.
Primary DNS: PC's Ip Adress
Secondard DNS: Tried both Primary and Secondard Router's DNS
I went to my router's page and then to the stats page and tried both DNS displayed there.

mine was being used by vuze (Azureus downloader)
This is how i fixed above problem
i downloaded and installed currports
here - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/cports.zip
installed it and then ran program
look in the local ports column for port 80/443
if any program is using those ports just right click and end it
try running **** psn again

It's working perfectly for me but whenever i change the original CA24.cer to the modified one Batman arkham asylum(BLES00503) freezes at "installing game data" even though i have the game installed already :S but when i put the original CA24.cer back in dev_blind/data/cert the game works with no problems.
this issue might be in other games, i will test all my games and keep you updated.

ok so newbs get winscp for ftp transfer but honestly i just couldnt get past the errors either ver wise or ver about my pc just didnt work for the cert transfer
i went and found comgenies awsome file manager
u install it
run it
hit select to go into advanced mode
then find usbdev006 or whatever on the left list side
now go to the right list side and navigate to the dev blind data cert folder
**you can use the winscp on windows to see this folder and right click then choose rename for the adding of .bak so ud use winscp type your ps3 ip
you get the ip from using ps3 ftp and then hitting the playstation button then go left in your xmb to settings then down to network and find the status option click x and you will see it saying what ur ps3 ip is if its on line with your router ull see it
use that ip 192.168.x.x ussaly its 1.2 cause 1st things ur router 2nd things your pc and 3rd things ps3 so u go online on ur ipad ur ipad becomes the 4th on list making ipad 192.168.1.4 and so on so my ps3 was 2nd device making it show as 192.168.1.3
i used that in winscp then made sure it said port 21
typed root in the first box then typed openbox for the pass and then selected the drop down box and changed it to just ftp
then when it pops up the box windows ur in your ps3 u can nav around whatever i did this to rename the ca24.cert to ca24.cert.bak
you may need windows file types set to show file ext i dont know if its a big issue u can pull the ca24 out of the ps3 but winscp wouldnt let me shove one back in so thats what i used comgenies awsome file manager to do that part
i have .net framework selected in control panel ad remove program inside the side bar click remove windows componets box pops up showing you stuff find 3.5 frameworks mine was box highlighted but not checked and inside two options were unchecked for 3.5 framework

ok so i ve mounted the dev flash i have all the files i renamed the CA24.cer that was provided to us to CA24.cer.bak but when i try to put it in the data/cert directory it fails to transfer and overwrite it. I put root and openbox as user and pass. I m running windows 7 and for some reason the .netframework 3.5 wont install. maybe cause i already have .netframework 4.0 is that why it wont transfer. some help would be appreciated from anyone that could please thanks everyone.

go to windows control panel and find the link for remove windows componets in the box that pops up find the 3.5 frame work make sure its not checked but merly colored in the box and open it two other options are there uncheck them but make sure when u back out the 3.5 box is highlighted
im unsure if the .framework merly needs to be in your pc and turned off and his proggie uses it when it needs to or if doing this merly has anyeffect but i saw that same error i also used other stuff
make sure u have the correct ps3dns program there are i think 3 versions so u may have somthing wrong make sure the dll thing is with the ps3 dns proggie in the same folder where ever it is
not sure but if all else fails try freash with freash os install on pc for xp or win7 i almost did but didnt have to
also check task manager ps3 dns acted retarded once and i realized i had two instances of the program open at once ??
also control panel and firewall all turned off buddies better just in case it ur issue
also did you reboot the ps3 after int settings then try ?
also one thing to mention
my pc was 192.168.1.2 and now its ends in .3 never in .2 so whats that about nothing else is ever on my network so ehh
try a clean start if possible dont give up i played with the no vmware way for 9 hours yesterday and got nothing but error codes on psn login and today this works so idont know but whatever

im using win7 pro iso from torrent with daz loader but im still getting notifys for registering my windows and i must have done 3 backups to my system and installed 86 and 64bit charles and java and all kinds of junk along the way

or try this log everything off ur wifi /router unplug everything reboot pc and everything then ur numbers for your 2nd dns should be 192.168.1.x either x is 2 or x is 3 or x is 4
and your primary dns will be the dns ur pc has witch would be 192.168.1.x either x is 2 or 3
this is just what a normal setup can be your ports may be whacked a way diff but mine is simple so thats what mine is
idk but i would go back and read the tut for the org sll spoofing posted a few replys down and the the no vmware tut just so u get a understanding of it then when u come look at this you say oh wow great i dont have to mess with all that junk

! I've been trying to get this working for 4 hours! I've set up my PS3, Charles, PS3DNS, and ****PSN but none of the methods and tutorials work. I keep getting this error: "failed to start reverse proxy rule:443 auth.np.ac.playstation.net:443 unrecognized windows socket error 0: JVM_BIND" on charles, and ****DNS crashes immediately, saying something about "Errno EADDRINUSE". Ok so for those of you that are having some trouble like i did at first here is what to do first use DEV_BLIND and you know the rest for that next change the CA24.cer in the ps3 to CA24.cer.bak then FTP the CA24.cer that is downloaded from here over to the ps3 in the hdd_dev00/data/cert/ and you should have CA24.cer and CA24.cer.bak in the same place "data/cert/ folder next you need to change the DNS numbers as stated in the instructions once that is done turn off the ps3 then turn it back on and start up f*ckPSN.exe and THEN sign into PSN that is how i did it and im able to sign into PSN also i would like to say

It turns out the reason ****PSN was closing immediately was because my system locale was NOT set to United States. (ASCII error) Now, it hangs and closes when I launch ****PSN, (on both versions) which is pretty much right back where I started. And I'm still getting a JVM_BIND error on Charles...

if you want to find out what your dns ip is that you need to enter do this
in windows click the windows icon and type CMD in the run box then hit ENTER
the type ipconfig and hit ENTER
you will see some lines pop up
one of them will be ipv4 address this is the primary dns
the other one will be default gateway this is the secondary dns or your routers ip
these are the addresses that the ps3 needs to do the connection

good day, i use this file along side the other files from this tutorial, and at the beginning this method wasnt working, why? I live in El Salvador Central America, to be precise, and i have a "US" psn account, but following the steps didnt worked for me, it always asked for an update, i noticed that in the ps3dns.exe window when i choose to sign in in the xbm the ps3 looked on an address with the letters MX, i changed that on the txt file and then it worked for me..

Hey guys, after mutiple attempts to get this to work finally figured it out. Most of the people getting errors logging into psn i think are because they thought they have overwrited the CA24.cer file but they actually haven't. I could not get ftp to do this or even comengenies file manager. I actually used Multiman to do this.
Heres some quick instructions on just copying the certificate.
1. Download dev_blind app and CA24.cer file.
2. Install dev_blind app to ps3.
3. When it asks to mount it select yes. (Do noot reboot at this point, as when you reboot you need to run this application again to enable writable flash)
4. Now goto Multiman.
5. Once in Multiman, press L1 a couple of times till you get to the file manager.
6. Open up the folder on the ps3's side called Dev_blind. NOT Dev_flash! (you can not write to this folder, that is what was holding me back for a while.)
7. Navigate to Dev_blind/data/cert and replace the CA24.cer with the new one and make a backup of the old one.
8. Reboot change ip settings run F**kpsn v0.4 (no need for PS3DNS)
9. Enjoy PSN

DUDE!!! Thats what the hell been happening to me for 3 str8 hours!! Couldn't for the life of me figure out what the hell was going wrong until I actually read the ****psn error( had run it from cmd prompt so the damn box wont disappear) message stating that only one usage of each Socket. You do not need to run PS3DNS.exe with the latest version of F*ckPSN. Run F*ckPSN without PS3DNS and it should run without a problem.

ok i got GT5 going,,, it wasnt loading my backup/GT5 on the multiman 1.16,,so i went back and loaded the older version of Multiman 1.15.02 i think,,, and IT WORKED!!! my GT5 backuped worked online,,,YEAH!!!!
Edit: Be aware New Multiman 1.16 doesnt load some GAMES ..so if your having problems loading games ,,,try older version!

For mac or linux users:
Download the source of f..kdns
Install ruby and the needed libraries
Add a new virtual ip-address to the pc (IN THE SAME SUBNET)
modify the rb script to change the ip adress to the new virtual ip
Run the script
If yo don't know the how's and what's, use GOOGLE
EDIT: The reason I use a virtual ip is because I run already a DNS and web server on my linux box. So if you don't, there is no need for the virtual ip

for people having probs with it closing and erroring, i tried it on 4 diff pc's.
The 3 which had 64bit OS failed. 32Bit worked first time.

ok guys here it goes i fixed my crashing fu-ckpsn 0.4v the solution was to start in safe mode with networking i started the program and dindt crash then in msconfig i stoped all the process that start with the pc including torrents hamachi skype etc the i restart and start ****psn 0.4 and all is good hope it helps i will test the conection tomorrow i have to be up in 4 hours later guys

Ok so i got this to work. I test connection on ps3 and it says:

And down the bottom it tells me to update, and the F*ck psn window stays the same the whole time.

yes i also closed all programs,Torents,etc,,,wut i placed in dns,,was i ran cmd and typed config something like that cant remember but i looked at the IPv4 Adress....192.167.1.67 (Perfered) and typed that in my dns top and bottom!!!

my first ps3 stopped working and sony would only fix it if i paid them $150. The system at the time cost me $600 so i got stuck having to buy another ps3 and it didnt even support ps2 games anymore. thankyou for the psn access. works perfectly.

If f*ckpsn window doesn't change it means That it' not getting dns requests. It means That you didn't change ps3 dns 1 settings to the ip of the computer you did run f*ckpsn on or this computer is not able to respond to requests witch can mean a firewall issue. You Have to open TCP ports 443, 80 and UDP port no. 53 on your computer's firewall and set its ip as dns1 settings in ps3. Dns2 Have to be set to Real and working dns. 8.8.8.8 or 4.4.4.4 will do ;-)

gah after hours trying different things, f*ckpsn finally shows some data yet it still asks to update? Ive tried googles dns ive tried my dns server ive tried my ip and ive tried leaving it blank and all do the same thing and ask me to do an update. :/

Like many of the others, I'm having problems connecting to PSN. I only have win7 -64 bit computers in my house, so that may be the issue.
I've tried all the secondary DNS options presented here, I've opened all the ports on my router. I've disabled windows firewall. I've tried in safe mode. I dont have any other programs running on port 80 causing conflicts. I made sure I disabled IIS.
FCKPSN is running and is getting info from the PS3 as it fills up with all sorts of interesting stuff, none of which indicated failure, but I cannot connect to PSN and get the standard errorcode when attempting to do so.
Any other thoughts on this?

Everithing seems ok.
Maybe if you try like this:
1. disable auto login if its on
2. close F*PSN app
3. restart PS3
4. start F*PSN
5. try to login to your preferred account

Can anyone help me? I still cannot find dev_blind, though I did everything as instructed, step by step. I even tried it many times, with both blackbox and open PS3 FTP.

worked perfectly for me, although i had to disable IIS on windows 7 (32bit) to avoid the ****psn app closing.
For those who dont know, use Services.MSC and disable "World Wide Web Publishing Service"

If you have enough knowledge to have renamed the original so you can then put the patched one in it's place, then it is realistic to assume that you have the same knowledge to remove the oatched one and put the original back. Asking how to do it (and expecting help) after criticising the level of help in general just adds insult to injury to the people who do help.
Have patience is the best solution to anything, and solve one problem at a time.

I have a feeling that it has something to do with my ip address on my network settings, the ip address at the top should i leave it on automatic and set the dns in the DNS settings? i did everything in the video so do u think that a work by chance?

I got it to work perfectly, and this might sound weird, but i want to completely disconnect from PSN now. This was my first time ever on PSN and i just wanted to see if it would work, and it did. Now i sign out of my account, but there's still that banner in the upper right-hand corner of my screen reading off things like "New Killzone 3 Demo out!" from PSN. How do i completelyyy disconnect from it? And if i can't, will it be a problem?

i have win7 and the 3.5 and psnfck and filzilla and the other materials. my problem if with the CA24.cer file. i'm unable to rename file with cornie file manager, openbox (filezilla) and the multiman. all the programs give me error messages. [filezilla '550 unable to change name'error]. cornie file manager just says error cant rename file. i can get every thing else working just cant change or delete original ca24.cer file. on my ps3 dev/data/cer folder. IS ANY1 ELSE HAVING PROBLEMS RENAMING THE CA24.cer FILE??? in ur ps3 data/cer folder not the 1 u download and copy unto the ps3.
also i dont have a rwflash folder only a dev_flash folder. maybe thats why i cant rename files on my ps3? please respond.

apparently u need to replace CA27.cer too,it is provided in one of the links above.

I'm using ****PSN 0.5 and modified CA24.cert NOT CA27.cert.
It works fine so I'm not sure where that false info came from.

it's not false information,i tried using ****psn v 0.5 with a modified CA24.cer and i got error codes when i tried to sign in to PSN,but after i replaced the CA27.cer provided in this link(which is also given in the above post) http://gaia.psfree.net/****Psn/ ,i was able to sign in to psn and everything worked fine.

CA24 is used by some games to connect to other servers than the psn one.
So if you replace ca24, those games stop working online.

I completed this, and am able to log onto PSN, but Netflix will not load. When I launch Netflix I get a black screen and then it goes back to ps3 home screen. Any suggestions please?

So, heres the the deal:
Ive Changed both CA24, and CA27, useing dev_blind and Comgenie's Awesome Manager
So I turn off my Ps3 and when I turn it back on it won't sign on anymore. It worked sporadically before I had to change CA27.

When I changed CA24 again and it would work sometimes, but now won't work, until I changed CA27, and now that doesn't work I just keep getting the error message and it won't even ask me to update if I close Charles and Ps3Dns. I used Charles and Ps3Dns the first few times it was working and after I changed CA27.
Every Time I start ****psn and I try to start Ps3Dns, Ps3Dns closes, and every time I try to run Ps3Dns and start ****psn, ****psn closes. Which is why Im using Charles.
So my qeustions are: Do i have to change certs every time I restart my system? Why do I keep getting that error message? and finally, Why won't ****psn and Ps3Dns stay open simultaneously?
Pls help I dunno how to get back online :musicus:

What is important is that you don't mix the charles certificates with the f..kpsn onces because the server certificate is different.

Nothing works for me I do everything as directed and it will connect but fail at PSN access I still have to update even after I had everything set correctly.

That you have to read it again.
Seems you have not correctly setup your DNS settings.
Try setting your secondary DNS also to point to the pc that runs f....psn
(F...psn will forward all dns requests he can't handle)

wow nice 7 month grave dig. closing this up so no one else gets the idea in their head this works..... it hasn't in many months
