Now this is pretty cool, ever wanted to play PS3 on your iDevice? Well it seems to be possible (with the right hardware setup) and it looks pretty damn cool. Team pandaelf has managed to map out the PS3 controls to your iDevice and lets you fully play your PS3 games on your iPhone/iPad/iPod (similar to remote play with PSP). The video below demos this at work, you can start seeing some iPhone gameplay footage @ 1:40.
And the release statement:
With a little wrangling of hardware and software, we were able to put together a demo of how to play PS3 games on an iPod, iPhone, and iPad.
Feel free to ask questions in the comments, and read on for precise details on how we achieved this.
TLDR version: We used some off the shelf hardware and everyAir to allow you to play PS3 games on any iOS device.
Q&A:
=========================Q: What’s the overall picture for how this works?
A: The trick is to connect a capture device and a USB mouse/keyboard device to the PS3. The capture device sends video data to the PC, and the USB keyboard/mouse sends the button presses. On the PC itself, you run a custom build of everyAir which understands custom gestures and pipes the input to the PC which then sends it to the PS3 via the input interpreter.Q: What were some of the hurdles?
A: There are two problems to solve: sending the video signal to the iOS device and sending back input from the iOS device. Sending the video signal is solved by using an off the shelf capture device, and then sending back the input is a combination of a custom build of everyAir with an off the shelf mouse/keyboard device that connects to the PS3.Q: How do you send input to the PS3?
A: Using one of those USB Keyboard/Mouse devices. For example, Eagle Eye (search for it on Amazon).Q: How do you get the video signal from the PS3 to the iOS device?
A: We do this by using an off the shelf capture device. The capture device connects to the PC, TV, and to the PS3. The result is that a livestream of the PS3′s video signal ends up on the PC.Q: How do you connect to the PC from the iOS device?
A: Using everyAir – our remote desktop application.Q: How does everyAir understand the game gestures?
A: We’re using a custom build of everyAir, and it’s hardcoded to understand these gestures. Additionally, it knows how to pipe input to the mouse/kb device in a way that it expects.Q: Will this be publicly available?
A: We plan to release a fully customizable version at some point in the future.
They also have PC games such as World of Warcraft running on iPad, so give their Youtube channel, or their site a look if interested. They have not given a release date for their PS3 port and say it will be released soon.

now this is cool, why won't sony let us do this, they just want to make money off each person before this could happen on OFW.
just because cfw has a potential to cause piracy, they act like they will go bust, well look at the 360 & wii, they are making loads on the market, even the iphone jailbreak is bringing more green. If anything jailbreaking/hacking increases hardware sales & the minority that pirate will never buy a game at full price anyway so no loss.
its all about money, no freedom, hope geohot wins, because we are fighting for freedom.
Anyways this is great stuff, just hope sony won't be ******s & start raiding homes.... again.

This is neat...useless for anything other than flOw, but still neat. I will look forward to it on Android; I always wanted to play flOw on a phone; it seems like it was intended for it.

Anyway, While it is a pretty cool concept, i would much rather just use the remoteplay options we already have (not that i use that either), i HATE touch screen controls.
Props to the devs for getting gesture based controls going though. It's great some people are thinking out of the box and working on something other then backup managers!

remote play needs to be implemented...wake up the ps3 via router and stream media just like it is possible with the psp

I just wish that these talented people would focus on useful things tho...remote play sucks, and gesture-based remote play is the most useless thing I can think of. I wish these people would work on a good media player or a DLC installer or something.
...Now, if someone figures out a way to use remote play by 3G, then I might be impressed; I never quite understood the appeal of playing PS3 games at home on a smaller screen and with worse controls...but playing GT5 on my phone from anywhere (with tilt steering) would be f**king sweet.

That's a great devopment however Apple is as corrupt and ****ed up as Sony will simular devices be supported in the future like the galaxy S or Blackberry?
There is just no way i ever buying an Apple product.. you get more for less with other brands

Nifty showing the graphic of the game, however just the controllers as a remote would cover my needs. Like VNC or MSRDP...

So if it IS possible to do this on IOs devices then why is it NOT possible to do on a computer it has just as much if not more power to do this so why not port this to the computer so people without IOs devices now that would be awsome so maybe the DEV's could look into this and make it possible
