Same problem as with v1.4. Version 1.41 also gives me the following error "PS3 Game Detector hat ein Problem festgestellt und muss beendet werden." (Translation: "PS3 Game Detector has encountered a problem and needs to close.")..
I am using Win XP SP3 32-bit and my latest M$ .NET Framework is 3.5 SP1.
Any ideas?

Dear PS3 GAME UPDATER,

you must add some lines of code to search if an game update already exists on default folder. Because if we download a game update and after we add some games to check, the program will download game update again of the other game again :S
soz my english but i think you understand
regards.

dn.rosee, version 1.41 will not download already downloaded games. It was a bug on 1.4.
However, if you changed the file format name to save the files, then yes, it looks for the new format name, which doesn't exist, so it'll download it again.

I have never been able to get this program to work, and I always have the most recent .net framework (1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 4). I'm currently on 4. Like others mine crashes during start-up and I get the "PS3 Game Detector has encountered a problem and needs to close." message.
Running Windows XP SP3.

is it possible to update legally purchased games with this app?

onenut, the answer is yes. This app has nothing to do with piracy. It downloads the updates from Sony servers.

How do i install the updates with the .pkg? "Install packages" menu? Thanks

My PS3 is connected with wifi. Its signal is low and if I lose signal I cant resume. Also, I cannot play the game if its being updated. I download at 100kb/sec so the 600+mb GT5 update takes ages.
With this program, I can download patch on PC while I play PS3.
Not only this, but I can pause and resume downloads.

always nice to see progess in the homebrew scene...
FYI, you can get your updates to your PC by various methods, directly from Sony servers and transfer the .pkg to your PS3 afterwards.
Anyway, some of my backups will cease to run after applying an update. Since I do not know beforehand which game will work and which not, I stopped applying updates at all. I guess using this application would give the same experience, just be prepared for this to eventually happen to you too.

I hooked up my external drive and got to searchin...was doing perfectly until I accidently unplugged the external drive. Now when I try to Check Updates for Selected Games I get error "Unhandled exception has occured...Index was out of range..." I have deleted the folder I originally unzipped to and unzipped fresh files, restarted my computer, tried running without the game it was working on when it got unplugged - nothing seems to make a difference. Anybody have any suggestions? I've been trying everything I could think of and keep getting that error. I click Continue and it doesn't work at all.

For love nor money can I get this working, just installed and enabled the .net 3.+ files in the windows 7 (x64) feature/addon menu. But every time I try to scan the files on my PS3 for updates, it gives me an unhandled exception stating that the FTP command was not executed.
Tried with Gaiamangers FTP, openFTP still nothing.
Any tip?
