Very nice. Could someone please explain a little on how to use an external payload and which one is best to use? Thanks

02:02 PM
Do we need to run the LV2 patcher thing again??
02-12-2011
02:14 PM
NO THE WARNING FOR THE PAYLOAD IS ONLY FOR BACKING UP BLU-RAY Video.

i was thinking, bdemu? shweet! now it might show a game loaded as a disk without the disk being in the drive! (bad laser deck).
i installed this, then i have to run a payload app and run a bdemu app then realised this is dam step backwards. deleted and went back on 1.4, could'n locate 1.5 just yet.

02:35 PM
so do i need some extra file? where can i find it?
02-12-2011
02:39 PM
LOL, and so it begins. Multiman creator now fears Sony will go after him. This sucks, great manager but a step back none-the-less
running LV2 patcher sucks.

I updated and yet I can play all my backups without a external payload from my external hard drive.

03:40 PM
So I just recently updated to 1.15.04 and just overnight theres a newer version?! This guy is even better than commercial software devs!
But sorry though... I don't exactly get the part about lv2 patcher. (quite frankly I don't know how to use it) So should I update now? or no? Im on kmeaw 3.55cfw.

03:52 PM
@schinitter
no i jus tried n it works without lv2 patcher

Veox, the reason you can still play backups without the use of an external payload may be because you just updated. When the ps3 installs a .pkg file it doesnt delete everything in the install directory upon install, it only overwrites/updates whats already there and adds whatever other files are included in the .pkg file. You had the older version which included the the payload .bin file so when you updated, you still had it. If people follow the directions in the readme with a separate full download delete their old install before installing v1.16.00 over it then they would no longer have the payload .bin file. So to sum this up, if you do a clean install of v1.16 you will have to use an external payload like lv2 patcher v9 or something similar. This explanation may be incorrect but I wanted to try to explain this so people know that if they use this version without updating from an older release they will have to use an external payload for everything including game backups/booting.

To make this work perfectly again on 3.55 KMEAW download and install this pkg file on PS3 - BDEMU.rar. It puts the payload back in to Multiman so it works like before
Got this file from PS3Crunch (Dukio)

I dont think this backsup bluray movie discs .....i think it just plays BDMV files. Or am i worng ?

04:05 PM
works without running anything extra for me... no need to patch everytime, running mvc3 from external running just multiman 16
oh yep you are right after restarting my console it no longer works without an external payload. this sucks... maybe we need someone else to develop our managers now that multimans operator is gettin scared, but then againwho can blame him...

To get a full functional 1.16 an install of 1.15(.xx) is needed because 1.15 installs the payload and the update 1.16 by MM itself through internet (L3 as I remember) lets the payload in place so MM 1.16 with payload?
Besides the BDEMU install mentioned before off-course. Nice tip

I can't be certain but I'd say your half right. I'd say when you update even from an older version it will still remove the payload. The reason it was working for him may have been that he hadn't reset his PS3 since updating. -i.e. he loaded Multiman 1.15.XX and then updated. Now since he had already loaded Multiman 1.15.XX it has loaded the payload into memory. So then he installs Multiman 1.16.00 and runs it. It will not have a payload but already has the payload formt he previous version in memory which works perfectly with it. But when he resets his PS3 the payload will be removed from memory and when running Multiman 1.16.00 again it can't find any payload and will not work properly with all functions. An external payload must be installed (see my previous post for an easy to install external payload).

Thank you for explaining my situation anyways I downloaded the needed payload file .pkg and now a fully functional MultiMan v1.16.00 with a external payload provided by the following member located above.

If you follow the instructions found here you can make multiMAN load the latest payloads found in LV2 v9 pkg:
http://ps3homebrew.org/2011/01/25/ps...tcher-payload/
Then there's no need to run LV2 patch every time you switch on your ps3
UPDATE: I take that back, it ain't workin - back to 1.15

Works perfect on OFW 3.41 with PS3 Break v1.0 with PS3Break Firmware1.71. Multiman 1.16 was also installed over Multiman 1.15.05.
Just in case, I thought I'd share that I had to restart the PS3 after upgrading from Multiman 1.15.05 to 1.16 before loading games would work.
But after rebooting the PS3 and doing the dongle jailbreak again, I was able to load games with Multiman 1.16 from both the internal and external HDD's!
Also, patch mode works great, and I was playing Little Big Planet 2 without issues.
I was reading all these posts about people not getting it to work after upgrading, so I assumed the worst when it didn't work after install!
Anyhow, everything still works flawlessly on OFW 3.41 with dongle!
For everyone having issues, take a page from internet/pc tech support! Power cycle and reboot! ;P
Thanks Mr. Deank!

Thanks Deank! Excellent job keeping us going with new updates. This works fine. You people need to get a clue. Deank is smart in removing the payload from his software to avoid any issues with Sony. Not to mention any improvements on the bluray emulation would be quicker and easier to implement. For you people who are bellyaching that it doesn't work. It works fine provided you know what you need and what you are doing.

If you need the payload, im not sure if its originally there it will stay after an upgrade but even so just grab it rom the multiman folder in DEVHDD0/games/blesXXXX its in usrdir payload folder and then if it goes you can just put it back in
02-13-2011

07:02 AM
I have seriously been up all night trying to figure out how to make
im currently on 1.16.00 with the BDEMU.PKG, what am i doing wrong?
im also on the KMEAW 3.55 CFW. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanx, im gonna go try and get some sleep now, although, i really doubt this itch will let me dream at all tonight.

Dead Space 2 (BLES1040) work on this particular Multiman VErsion, ive tried loading it up from the external usb, the internal hard drive, hit the patch button, i even tried, SELECT + X and nothing

Updated MultiMan directly through PS3 (R3 Button) Installed fine and runs my backups as always (K-cfw 3.55). If I do a fresh install of latest build of MultiMan, Nothing loads! If devs are running scared of sony lawyers i don't see the point in releasing an update that cripples its entire purpose? Looks like Rogero is a simple alternative.

THE BEST THEME HAS GONE !!

The one where its the full back ground image and the text ontop has been replace with a tile scrolling one, but the other ****ty theme items are still there

05:42 PM
@jebus & Bubbles
as far as i understand you need the lv2.pkg (or any other "payload") in order for multiman to work...so u need to run the .pkg before you run multiman - then you'll be good 2 go
i ask myself if gaia or rogero could be a better alternative now tho ;>
