Well now that Sony has dropped the ball on PSN for CFW, and the scene is itching for a new method why not try XBSlink? XBSlink is a way to play online against other “hacked” PS3′s via LAN (think of it as an alternative to PSN), its been around for a while but lacks a userbase. This nifty program was just updated to v0.9.2.0 which brings the following new changes:
Changelog:
- XBSlink works on command line (non-GUI) !!
- added user list to chat pane
- fixed issue#5: thread safety in node class for device list
- periodic updated of users in connected cloud
- added platform specific program update checks
- fixed exception on non number chars in setting number fields
- xbs_settings now thread safe
- added NDesk.Options class for command line parsing
- added xbs_messages class for all internal messages
- moved all GUI code from classes into Form
see more for command line parameters:
running XBSlink in command line mode the following commands are available:
- press “h” to display the help message
- press “q” to quit program
- press “l” to display the cloud list
- press “u” to show the list of connected nodes
command line parameters:
XBSlink Version 0.9.2.0
Usage: XBSlink.exe [-h] [-l] [-s CLOUDSERVER] [-c CLOUDNAME] [-u] [-p PORT] -n NICKNAME -o IP -i CAPTURE_DEVICE_NAME
-?, -h, –help show this help message
-l, –list-devices list all available network packet capture devices
-n, –nickname=VALUE set the nickname

-a, –advanced-broadcast enable advanced forwarding of broadcasts
-p, –port=VALUE set the incoming port number. default is 31415
-o, –source-ip=VALUE bind to this local ip address.
-i, –capture-device=VALUE name of network device for capturing packets
Now alternatively you can also use XLINK KAI, they both are great programs and networks but ultimately which one you should use depends on which game you want to play and how many people are in that game with the specific program. Various games are supported such as Black Ops, Modern Warfare 2, etc..There are also different ports available for MAC users, and these programs also work for Wii and 360. A tutorial on how to install XBSLink can be found here. Maybe now people can start using an alternative to PSN more and more and not have to worry about bans
You can also check out XLink Kai here.

There is only one way to get PSN back, don't jailbreak your PS3. If you must get a second one and BUY and play the games you want to play online. Someone may find a way to hack 3.60 but Sony will release 3.7, 3.8 and so on. If online is so important why not just get a second PS3 and enjoy the best of both worlds. All these alternative are rubbish, hard to connect with decent numbers. It is command based so it will putt off many from the start anyway.

PS3's all link to one ip to go on PSN yes? So link to your wireless router in the usual way but have the router redirect requests to the PSN ip address to the computer with this app and theoretically that should do the trick

wow, great start! i'm seeing a free PSN-like plugin in the future.. connecting every cfw users by different servers all over the world.. d@*#, mvsc3 server is a must! :creep:

<noobs point of view>
i use these a lot, probably a late comer to party but heres some info
you are connected the same as running a ethernet cable down the street to a mate house or giving him your wifi pass, your consoles think they are connected to the same router, so think on! another user could use a program like cain&able, so try to stay safe
its only good for some games not all,
homefront has no system link, and games like cod with rank and point system,
dont work in system link
cod7, if you've never played it on an official psn server, you'll all be named player, not your ps account name
if my memories wright for xlink kai, you need one of the 7.3.x versions not 7.4
xbconnect and xlink do same job, but different.
xbconnect work on p2p network so it kind of combines everyone's connection speed
xlink is different if the host of the game has a low upspeed connection then the game is going to be very laggy test your speed here: www.speedtest.net
there is another tunnel program but it does not have a lobby system leaf networks http://www.leafnetworks.net/ you need to know the other player to arrange the game

I wish some creative hacker would make a CFW that connects to an alternative service by default...the lack of game selection and the requirement to use a PC in the middle is the reason services like this are not booming right now.

yep we need a pkg with a alternate cfwpsn and then we can say Fu..PSN and SONY

stop blaming mathieulh. hes i great hacker and he maybe not release it because he doesent get credit for it. some of you people is only saying bad thing about him. stop doing it. i think he has hacked 3.60 and seeing this folks saying these bad thing about him. thats why he doesent release it. why should he ? and why are these people here who doesent support what is uploaded on to this page. go to another page. i love these hackers. they put in so much energy to help people and what does he get from return? nothing. only bad words. those who doesnt support these upload go to another sitel.
thanks mathieulh and other hackers for the apps and cfw and all other program. you made this all true. without you hackers the ps3 wouldnt have been hacked in the first play. keep up the good work. and i hope in mathieulh heart he brings us something really good and you all appreciat it.
sorry about my poor english :P
thanks

you could play xb1 game in the 360, it should work
if this does not work try xlink kai, i've had more success with xlink
here's brief how-to
1.first sign up for a XLink account http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/signup.php
2.for ps3 you need version 7.3.1.7 http://xlink.clan-services.com/files....1.7-win32.msi does not work with 7.4
3.now your probaley going have to open ports 30000 both UDP & TCP, or just UDP work for both for me, some info
http://portforward.com/english/appli...k_Kaiindex.htm
4.run kai, win7 right click, properties, run in WinXp SP2, check run as admin,
goto config page and add your name and pass
5.make sure kai is running on pc before you turn on ps3
if kai looks like this when ps3 is on, config is not correct
6.Make a test connection to your PS3, You must leave all options set to automatic. it should show a connection error (Error 80710102) This means that it is okay.
---end---
images from google
take from kai setup page:http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/quickstart.php
for wifi users, "Setup will only work for you if your wireless network card performs in promiscuous mode. Please read the section on Incompatible Wireless Network Cards"
and If after this you cannot connect with other users, it's because you probably have a game update saved on your console.
To sort this, goto the PS3 system and delete game updates

I got X Link Kai working earlier this morning! I highly reccommend it, I've had a few games of Black Ops and its great to have online multiplayer back, it just needs a few more people playing.
I've just wrote a quick guide:
====================================================================
This tutorial assumes you connect to the internet with a wireless network.
What You Need:
*PS3
*PC with Windows & Ethernet Port
*Ethernet cable (crossover cable may be required)
*Wireless Internet Connection
====================================================================
1. Connect an ethernet cable from your computers' ethernet port to your PS3.
2. Go to Network Connections (Windows 7 users - Control Panel/Network & Sharing Center/Change Adapter Settings).
3. Select both your Wireless connection and your Local Area Connection, right-click and then Bridge Connections.
4. You should now have a new connection titled 'Network Bridge'. Click Start, type CMD and press enter, a new window should show up. In there type ipconfig and press enter.
5. Where it says Ethernet adapter Network Bridge, write down the IPv4 Address as you will need it next.
6. Go back to 'Network Connections', right-click the 'Network Bridge' connection and click Properties. Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.
7. Click the box that says 'Use the following IP address' and enter the one you wrote down previously. For the Subnet Mask Enter 255.255.255.0 and for both Default Gateway & Primary DNS Server use 192.168.1.1 (leave Alternate DNS Server blank). Click 'OK', then 'OK' again.
8. Login to your router Settings (usually by typing 192.168.1.1 into your internet browser), find Port Forwarding & forward port 30000 (start & end) for both TCP/UDP to the IPv4 Address you wrote down, call it "kai" & save the settings.
9. Download & install X Link Kai v7.3 (7.4 will not work) here:
http://xlink.clan-services.com/files....1.7-win32.msi
10. Turn on your PS3, go to Network Settings, then Internet Connection Settings. Select Wired and then set everything else to automatic. Save the settings and turn off your PS3.
11. Load up 'Start Kai', login (or register an account if you haven't already made one), click the blue globe icon (Arena mode), navigate to the game you want to play and leave it running.
12. Turn on your PS3, load up the game you want to play and host/search for a 'LAN' game!

FAQ:
Q: I keep getting error 'Cannot initialize PSSDK Library' when starting X-Link Kai
A: Right-click the shortcut, click the 'Compatibility' tab and set it to run in Windows Vista. Also check the box to run as administrator.

kai is way better .. link in my sig .. i've been using it for a long time , works good. kai also has UI for the 360 already built into a dash so their is a possibility for ps3 ..
actually thinking about it kai has a webUI that runs in a browser , have to try that.

is there a list available anywhere that shows which games are lan playable without signing into PSN? If not we should start one up, I have 2 PS3's in the house and would like to jump in some multiplayer in the house and on kai.
