Package Manager v0.9 has been released. This homebrew allows you to organize your PKGs on your PS3.

    ***** FOR 3.55 ONLY **** FOR 3.55 ONLY ***** FOR 3.55 ONLY *****

Package Manager is a replacement for the standard ★ Install Package Files option under ‘Game’ in the XMB and allows for the install and deletion of .pkg files from ‘dev_hdd0/packages’, ‘dev_usb/packages’ and the standard ★ Install Package Files locations. In addition to this, your downloaded PSN content will appear under this menu instead of cluttering your ‘Game’ menu with uninstalled content.

    INSTALLATION:
1: Download the ‘Package Manager 0.9 – Installer’ package and install it on your PS3.
2: Run ‘Package Manager 0.9 – Installer’ and choose your option. (Rebug and OFW/CFW have slightly different icons in their RCO’s. THIS IS THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO OPTIONS BELOW)

    For Official Icon Set:
Press CROSS to INSTALL Package Manager 0.9
Press CIRCLE to UNINSTALL Package Manager 0.9

    For Rebug Icon Set:
Press SQUARE to INSTALL Package Manager 0.9
Press TRIANGLE to UNINSTALL Package Manager 0.9

The ‘dev_hdd0/packages’ folder is created automaticly when you choose one of the above install options but if you delete it you can use the below option to create it again.

    Package Folder Creation:
Press START to CREATE the ‘dev_hdd0/packages’ folder

NOTE: ‘Package Manager 0.9 – Installer’ can be uninstalled once you have installed Package Manager.

    PACKAGE MANAGER OPTIONS:
Navigate to ‘Game’ in your XMB and click on ★ Package Manager (It will be where ★ Install Package Files used to be). You will find three options.

    ★ PlayStation®Network Content
    Manage your downloaded PlayStation®Network Content.

    ★ Install Package Files
INSTALL package files from Storage Devices and your PS3.

    PS3™ Hard Disk – (dev_hdd0/packages)
    Package Folder – (dev_usb/packages)
Standard Package Location – (Standard ★ Install Package Files locations)

NOTE: The ‘Install All Packages’ is only available by pressing the TRIANGLE button when the ‘Standard Package Location’ option is highlighted because the PS3 will only install ALL packages from the root of a storage device as of the moment.

    ★ Delete Package Files
DELETE package files from Storage Devices and your PS3.

    PS3™ Hard Disk – (dev_hdd0/packages)
    Package Folder – (dev_usb/packages)
Standard Package Location – (Standard ★ Install Package Files locations)

    DELETING FILES:
1: Highlight the file you would like to delete and press TRIANGLE. The sidebar should appear.
2: Press CROSS on either Unlink or Unlink(Folder) (Both do the same thing for now).

NOTE: Any files that you have Unlinked WON’T disappear from the XMB until you exit the directory!!

TODO: The delete feature while 100% working still needs a little work on the appearance (icons need fixing etc..) and maybe have a look at implimenting a Storage Device<->PS3 copy feature.

    Enjoy.. Cyberskunk

BIG THANKS to Devil303 from TeamACiD for the small line of code that assisted with the delete function..

it works, but it doesnt detect any playstation network content.

I have a few purchased games, and DLC like Flower and AssassinsCreed content.
Shouldnt that show up, or am i not getting it?

Amazing $hit! works great, am very impressed.

      [Edit #1]
Apparently the application is not case sensitive when it looks for content on the USB.
The name of the [packages] folder on the root of your USB Device can have all CAPITAL letters or just start with a CAPITAL letter if you like. [Only USB]

Just putting that out there in case someone is wondering.

Only the downloaded PSN packages will show up NOT installed content.. I got sick of scrolling through the 50+ titles in my 'Game' menu I had just downloaded but didn't want to install yet.. So I moved them into Package Manager (Which also sped up the XMB loading slightly)..

This is only for the Files.pkg not for the content that this .pkg files install.

It would seem I have to explain this..

When you download something from the PSN store a bubble appears under 'Game' with a little picture in it. I had 50+ of these bubbles in my XMB because I hadn't installed them yet. It was pissing me off having to scroll through them.. LOL.. So, I moved where they appear in the XMB (NOT where they are stored hard drive).. Now when I go to..

      Game->Package Manager->Playstation Network Content

My 50+ bubbles are there waiting to be installed and not in my way in the main XMB.

I hope that clears it up.. Cheers..

So if i download a package from PSN right now where will it go?
      to the Playstation's default location?
      or
      to 'dev_hdd0/packages'?

I don't have it clear yet how you moved them from under the 'Game' category to the 'dev_hdd0/packages'.

Where do they normally go when you download them?

Am going to download a PSN .pkg to get a better idea.

PSN content gets downloaded to the same location on the hard drive.. It APPEARS in a different location in the XMB.

      Game->Package Manager->Playstation Network Content

You can store/install homebrew .pkg and game updates you have downloaded via pc on the PS3 from the 'dev_hdd0/packages' location.

      Game->Package Manager->Install Package Files->PS3 Hard Disk

If you have installed this on 3.41 and your 'Games' menu has gone weird.. DO NOT PANIC.. Just install 3.41 like any other update through the XMB or recovery.. Everything will be back to normal.

Could admin update the first post please..

i did something wrong.. when i installed it, my ps3 restarted to recovery mode.. so i install 355 ofw then 355 kmeaw.. guess i'll wait for a better version.. hope we can install pkg wherever they are and not from the dev_hdd/packages or dev_usb/packages only.. but again, thanks for the dev for a great idea..

am still waiting for trophy manager, so i can backup mine, and delete darksiders trophy set.. can't delete it, i'm starting to hate the game..
