If you have read this thread, you will know that PS3HaX has turned four, to thank our loyal members and to welcome potential new members, we will be holding a competition, the winner will receive a copy of the upcoming Mortal Kombat game, which is released on the 19th of April in US and 22nd April EU, all you have to do is state your favourite Mortal Kombat character and why you like them, here is an example:
Character: Noob Saibot
Reason: He is one of the easiest characters to play as and i like his moves, my favourite being his ability to fall through the ground and appear behind his opponent.
The above is only an example, DO NOT copy and paste, you have to make your reason unique, remember that both your favourite character and reason have to be stated, otherwise you will be disqualified.
This competition is open to all members apart from staff as that simply wouldn’t be fair :p
The winner will receive a Pal/UK copy of the game, don’t worry all PS3 games are region free, so will work in any PS3 console.
The competition will end on the 18th of April, winners will be announced on the 19th and should receive the game no later than a week after the 22nd of April, so you have plenty of time to enter.
Your post number stating your favourite character will be your “ticket” and i will use a number generator to determine the winner.
One final thing, you have to be 18, but as everyone on the net is 18, that shouldn’t be a problem :p

The story begins after the events of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, but then returns to the period in which the first three games – Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II and Mortal Kombat 3 – occur. Due to a plot twist (the character Raiden now having knowledge of the future), the events of this time are slightly altered.
Mortal Kombat is the first title in the series to include 3D graphics with gameplay solely on the 2D plane (2.5D). The developers have also stated that this is the first game in which they are making a conscious effort to create deeper gameplay for more dedicated players of the series and of fighting games in general. Mortal Kombat was officially announced on June 10, 2010, accompanied with a debut trailer showcasing the new presentation and new gameplay features.

The character Kratos from the God of War series is available as a playable (in versus mode only) character exclusively on the PlayStation 3 version. Boon stated that the Mortal Kombat team felt Kratos would “fit perfectly” into the Mortal Kombat universe.

Reason: Since playing Mortal Kombat as a young child Liu Kang has been my favorite because of his moves (bicycle kick,fireball,dragon fatality), his nobility and honor (in the movie/cartoons),plus he is one of the originals and has basically become the "icon" for the series itself.

Reason: Sub-Zero is the only character to have been in every Mortal Kombat game so I got to watch his badassness evolve growing up. He's also two different characters (Bi-Han (who later becomes Noob Saibot) in early games and his older brother Kuai Liang since MKII) which makes him 2x as cool as everyone else, no name pun intended. :aetsch:
Oh and he's so cool that he's got his own mythologies Mortal Kombat backstory game. nuff said.

Reason: Because he started this gym tan laundry sh*t, not DJ Pauly D. Also, because he is a washed up Hollywood actor who is somehow fighting against Gods of Electricity, Ice, fire, not to mention guys who can spit acid, fly across a screen in a jumpkick, and turn into a gigantic dragon and eat your a$$. How does a washed up actor get into a cast like that? Also, the signing of a pic friendship owns all other ending moves and the putting on of the shades basically started the guido movement. Thanks.

Till date my fav mk game was trilogy on the ps.
Shang stung could morph into any character needed in the situation, goro, motaro, nightwolf. Plus his ultimate combo and the rising fireballs from the ground to uplift the opponent for a whoppiee from ed boon himself was just epic.

Reason: Who doesn't want to fight as one of the main story characters in the series. Sub-Zero is also the only character to be actually dead and still be alive at the same time (for those who don't know the story I wont ruin it). Sub-Zero is solid to the core...literally with his freeze ability to stop an attack in a showing of his palm. So everyone else take a chill pill or Sub-Zero will give you one for you.

Reptile has always been my favorite. It was awesome to find him as a hidden boss in Mortal Kombat 1; then his induction into the playable characters has led to him being a staple for all games since. He is easily one the most recognizable of all the ninjas even with his evolutions and mutations. His acid spit is an incredibly fast ranged attack, making him a character easy to use for novice and experienced characters. Not to mention the power slide and force ball attack. He can turn invisible… which is freaking awesome! All of his fatalities embody the Mortal Kombat Franchise. None of his finishing moves are ever a disappointment. From melting his enemies with acid to eating their entire bodies, Reptile is by far the best and will always be a part of all Mortal Kombats to come.

My sister always poked fun because I picked a girl but she was never laughing when I screamed all her skin off at the end of every fight. She was the only character I mastered all the moves for. I found it fairly easy moves to use.

Sub-Zero is the man. I remember playing with him in MK 1 on the Sega Magadrive and it was easier and cool for me to do the fatalities. In MK2 was the same and the story showed him like a mysterious character, not the hero or the nice boy like others, more like the anti hero. For that reason in my favorite of all Mortal Kombats

Why: Being the first Lin Kuei ninja to undergo the cyber transformation, (with Cyrax shortly afterward) makes him just plain legit. Not to mention he overthrew the Lin Kuei Grand Master once his program corrupted and he decided the Grand Master was inferior. Sub Zero stopped him from obtaining the Dragon Medallion, thus preventing him from taking over the Lin Kuei, BUT he formed his own team of Cyborg Ninjas called the Tekunin.
His move set, albeit fairly limited, was just wicked IMHO. Homing missiles and direct rocket blasts from the chest FTW. Teleport uppercut was pretty legit as well (although it is kinda overdone in the MK series no matter how you cut it). Flamethrower fatality is awesome, as well as the compactor fatality, but his BABALITY!!! Let's smash a baby with a mallet!! MUAHAHAHAHA!

Reason: He reminds me of the Simpson's Alien characters, Kang & Kodos, but he has two eyes, of course, and the arm dagger/swords. Not to mention, he looks like he would he your children. In his evolution from MK 2, his fatalities have been some of the most brutal, in my opinion.

The reason:
He has the simple blue/white clothes and the traditional Chinese hat, nothing fancy.
I like the way he speaks when he does his flying move, it's really funny.
Also not to forget the teleport move to get behind your rival, it's like what Goku in dragon ball does.
His status is named "the thunder god", but he doesn't look like Zeus or anything like that, you can see he is supernatural but he is also very human like and i can relate to that, just like in the Mortal Kombat movie picture.
All in all, Raiden is a great character to play with and in all the MK series, he is holding up his respect.
I give him the rank 9/10 (nobody is perfect)

Lets be honest here.
What can be 'Cooler' than freezing anything that's in your path?
Since childhood, sub-zero has been my character of choice. I really enjoy using pretty much any move of his. The ability to freeze your opponent and take a few seconds to plan your next move can easily put you a step or two ahead, whilst they panic about their character being helpless.
The constant feud between Scorpion and Sub-Zero is always awesome to watch. Their powers are basically on opposite ends of the scale, with Fire vs Ice.
Sub-zeros Fatalities are also awesome! Nothing takes the satisfaction out of freezing your enemy and smashing him/her to pieces on the floor!!!

Apart from being a wonderful AI crippling character (net -> roundhouse, repeat till win), he is the 1st character with whom i learned all the moves, all the combos, and various -alities, and for the 1st time, MK3 was more than just tricking the AI.
I could actual plan ahead, with the seemingly useless but invaluable bombs, the self destruct teleports and air grabs.
All of that allowed me to improve the way I played, and I loved it.
In fact, for a time in my so called youth, i actually used lk4d4 as a password here and there ^^

I have an older brother that was always better then me, My parents adored him. He was the most intimidating of the first game. The combination of the eye, his tough-as-nails attitude and moves that really hit were perfect. He didn't need flash like Cage, or years of training like Liu Kang, just a thug straight off the streets ready to kill without hesitation

Reason is I empathize with his cold nature; he has fluid moves and is the perfect rival for Scorpion, which between those two was the best story in MK. FATALITY moves for Sub-Zero tend to be one of the most Eye Candy to watch as well.

Liu Kang was always my personal favorite. Who didn't like the bicycle kick? As said above, the fate of Mortal Kombat was usually decided by Liu Kang. He is the savior of humanity in the world of MK.
If I had to make a second choice I would say Kratos, but he doesn't count. Really though who is going to mess with a guy that kills gods?
Wow Mortal Kombat brings back a lot of memories, and it looks like this one gets to the roots of what the game was supposed to be.

My favorite character is Scorpion.
He's a yellow ninja which in itself is cool.
Then there is his rope dart special move. I've won many games with just that move.
Then his fatality where he rips off his own face and burns his victims. Now thats intense.
And he's so famous he even had his rope dart in the movie.
And just about every time you see anything Mortal Kombat it's usually Scorpion and his rope dart move.
Is that enough points why he's my favorite character and the best?

On the one hand, Cyrax looks very calm and slap happy, but on the other hand, his attacks are very effective and damaging, especially his bombs are "pain in the ass". I would like to say that even his brother in MK3 and MKU3 was killer. Funny how even after death they brought the original back to life, as a breathing creature not a robot. :P Several others were great but non have ever been as good.

Favorite Character: Kabal
Reason: I first discovered him on the PS1 game MK: Trilogy. Although he made his first appearance in MK3, I'd never heard of him. Soon after however, he became my favorite fighter. I love his "Quick Run" move where he dashes from one side of the screen to the other, crossing over your opponent, causing him to spin like a cyclone for a few seconds, which then allows you to set up an amazing jump combo leading into a devastating uppercut. He can shoot balls of energy from what seems to be his mouth(mask). He has two hook-swords which look like they would hurt if hit by in real life. And finally, his fatality where he actually takes off his mask, and literally scares the person to death from his deformed face, was imo one of the most memorable fatalities from all the games.
Thank you PS3Hax, for being here for so long and being such a strong force in the PS3 modding/hacking community. I hope another 4 years is in store for us.

he was a soul absorver working under shao kahn but later freed himself, i love his moves sort of like psychic powers that lift the enemy and throw them arround like a rag doll, he also has the same teleport as scorpion which comes in handy when cornered, so yeah i would say Ermac is my favorite.

Reason:Sence I was like 4 I've been playing Mortal Kombat games. Mortal Kombat is easily my favorite fighting game of all time, and the only one you can really finish off your opponent! Mileena is my all time favorite for alot of reasons. She is strong, beautiful...except her terrifying mouth and she is absolutly demented, and that is what I really love about her.The personallity and story creates such a twisted powerfull female character and I kinda admire that. I also always liked her sai's, throwing them is one of my favorite moves and when she teleports through the ground!!! That move is totally cheap and I love it.
