10:55 AM
My favorite is definitely Playstation 2, because of the fantastic content that in my opinion hadnt been surpassed yet (Dark Cloud 2!!!). The controller of the device was fantastic compared to others i've had, and at the time, I was especially wow'ed by the graphics and still remember it quite fondly.
05-20-2011
10:56 AM
my fav console is ps1 as it had metal gear solid and final fantasy 7 two of the greatest games of all time
05-20-2011
10:56 AM
The very first Sony PlayStation:
- Countless great franchises started on it;
- it had a ton of superb games of all genres;
- it had Doom, Warcraft II and other PC games, which at the time was unheard of among consoles;
- it had great technical capabilities while being affordable;
- the controller was a breakthrough.

10:57 AM
My favourite is the PS3 60GB.. i use it to play all my Media-Content by streaming into my living-room, the games are very good quality, my ori-PS2 games working and i can use it as a blueray player :-)
05-20-2011
10:57 AM
Super Nintendo Entertainment System
It was the console of my childhood! Now, when I play snes games like Super Mario World, Donkey Kong 2, Sunset Riders or The Smurfs, all the memories come up... i played those games when i was about 7 or 8, i played em all with my familly, specially my parents and they had as much fun as i had in my childhood or even now when i play those games... Plus its one of the most successful consoles ever and the games which came out where revolutionary for that time!
05-20-2011
10:59 AM
My favourite Game Console is the original PLAYSTATION 3 not the slim one becouse it has a great Design and i like how you charge the controller with the USB cable and you dont have to buy battries for it. Also the touch bottons are great and the fact that its hacked now makes it the ultimate gaming console
05-20-2011
11:00 AM
it was the first console I ever played, I find the NES is had very simple controls and the games were simple, but it was all it ever needed because the gameplay kept you at it for hours. to this day I find myself wanting to play Megaman 3 and SMB.
05-20-2011
11:03 AM
My favorite console is the Sega Dreamcast, It was full of awesome and memorable games like "Sonic Adventure 1&2", "Phantasy Star Online", and of course one of the best game ever made, "Shenmue".
05-20-2011
11:03 AM
My favourite would be the ps3, because it doesn't matter how hard I throw my controller in a corner, it never breaks :D
05-20-2011
11:07 AM
My favorite is definitely the Nintendo 64. What is better than the first system that really allowed you to move in 3 dimensions. It was also the first system that had great multi-player games. You could play with up to FOUR people all at once and it had some of the greats like Goldeneye, Starfox 64, Mario Cart, Diddy Kong Racing, and Mario Party. What an awesome system!
05-20-2011
11:08 AM
Nintendo64
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
the game that got me interested in RPG's in the first place... have not found another solo/rpg to date that packs quite as much fun as zelda on a console, a true masterpiece. Great story, Excellent Temples, Fun puzzles.. and even the graphics weren't too bad. the new ones are good too, but i like the old one best.
and don't forget Super Mario, and Mario Kart, Goldeneye 007.
they just don't make games like they used too.... N64 was about FUN, today its all short story's, short games, and nice graphics.
05-20-2011
11:09 AM
Sega Mega Drive
I remember being a kid and spending several afternoons playing Sonic on it, how i wished i had one. lol
05-20-2011
11:11 AM
The dreamcast was the only console that I played the demo disc straight for a month, and did not get bored. Then I got ready to rumble boxing and my room became a dreamcast arcade with my tv blasting the music from that point on it was blockbuster trips every friday for a new arcade experience lol it really did cast you into a dream once you start playing
05-20-2011
11:15 AM
Dreamcast was a dream console, the first with real high quality graphics, even more than PS2 that come months later, with less memory using special memory compression features do more than the competence. The anti aliasing capabilities via hardware are awesome and a today standard implementation of this is required for any new generation console. Their controller was the first ergonomical in the console world, first net capable and in implementing real-time chat via IRC, games and web navigation. A lot of additional stuff like Mouse, keyboards, cameras, microphones, wheels, etc.
An exiting catalogue of games like Shenmue 1 and Shenmue 2, dead or alive, etc. Dreamcast is alive
05-20-2011
11:15 AM
Super Nintendo Entertainment System - Because I love the graphic style and there are still plenty of games, which you can play with another person nowadays!
05-20-2011
11:20 AM
Sega mega drive - Ahh, my childhood, i remember when i played sonic, comic zone, streats of rage! AWESOME, and now thanks to the devs we can actualy play this on the ps3!
05-20-2011
11:22 AM
Ive owned pretty much every console & handheld from the nes to the ps3 & the original xbox would be my favorite as it was the first console i ever hacked/opened up & installed a mod chip on even though i hardly played any games on it the thrill of geeking out was quite wonderful
05-20-2011
11:22 AM
The Playstaion 3 is without a doubt the best console ever made. I see how some people could say other generations had better consoles for the time periods. But the Evolution of gaming has taken place and I dont agree with ignoring that fact. The PS3 has everything all the older consoles had and more. Furthermore, anyone who says their favorite console is not the ps3
should consider what console they have spent the most time with. For me it's certainly the PS3 that has held my interest longer than any other previous console.
I know some old school consoles were sweet, but the games were so cheesy now that I look back on them. Embarrassing Graphics, sound effects, plot lines, etc. Games have reached the pinnacle of existence. Developers cant even harness the power of the PS3 fully. this has never happened before, consoles have always been maxed out within a few years. The PS3 OWNS.
05-20-2011
11:26 AM
the xbox(1 why do people say that ?) because it was my first console to make me say wow at a game
it was easy to mod and do cool stuff on
too bad it did not survive a 5 m fall or did it ?
05-20-2011
11:27 AM
My favorite console of all time would have to be the Nintendo 64, there are just so many classics and great games from the 64 that I grew up with, from Goldeneye and Perfect Dark to Majora's Mask and even Ocarina Of Time, Starfox 64 and who could forget Super Smash Bros.? There's just so many to name. The Nintendo 64 was just absolutely one of the best consoles ever. Even the odd controller design was something you could fall in love with. The Nintendo 64 will always hold a place in my memories.
05-20-2011
11:27 AM
My favorite is the gamecube.
I have never experienced better local multiplayer than with games like super smash bros melée, Mario kart double dash, and super Mario strikers. It also homes two epic metriod prime games. Not to mention the controller is one of the highest quality controllers I've ever wrapped my hands around.
05-20-2011
11:29 AM
I like the ps3, what was thought to be the most secure game system for years was exploited to **** easily, time.and time again.
Don't put me in the contest, unless there's a way to go on the np psn network by the3 time the contest ends.
05-20-2011
11:29 AM
Playstion original (not that ps one crap). Controller worked awesome and it had the best games of it's time.
05-20-2011
11:33 AM
this it's so easy, for my is the N64 because it uses Cartridges.. NO Scratched discs ;D and TLoZOoT _\m/ for sure.
05-20-2011
11:35 AM
Super NES
It gave un so many good games/franchise starters like Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Super Mario World, Contra 3, and the list goes on and on...
Plus, the factor in this generation was FUN and not graphics, and the SNES did bring a lot of fun to the table
05-20-2011
11:38 AM
ps2 because of kingdom hearts 1 and 2
05-20-2011
11:42 AM

05-20-2011
11:43 AM
My favorite games console is XBOX 360 because it is designed very good for gaming & online play!
05-20-2011
11:43 AM
My favorite console is N64 .. I cried when i got it for the Christmas when it was released and it was soo hard to find LOL and i love it because the game selection was amazing ... Goldeneye 007 best FPS ever! lol
05-20-2011
11:45 AM
My favorite console is PS3, because I can browse the internet with ease using the analogues, without having to sit on the uncomfortable chair of mine to use my pc. The games, also have great graphics, the original controllers are the best ever and my favorite franchises are on playstation (gran turismo, final fantasy and metal gear solid).
05-20-2011
11:46 AM
The 3DO:
My favorite was the 3DO because it was exclusive, expensive, fun and the first system I owned that transitioned from cartridges to discs. The FMV video games were fun while they lasted and many games were adult oriented.
I also liked the 3DO because it had great arcade titles and daisy chained controllers. Furthermore, the system played burned games without any modifications needed.
Need for Speed 1 3DO
05-20-2011
11:48 AM
My all time favorite console has to the PlayStation (psx/ps1). It was the first console when i really became a gamer. It was also the console that was out when I REALLY got into professional wrestling and WWF Warzone was being pushed. I got both the console and the game for Christmas that year and has to be one of the best memories i have. My brother and I played that game forever and the graphics were incredible. We jumpped from a SNES to a PS1 and holy crap was that the best thing we ever saw.
]
This thing worked great and had top notch gaming library. This system ushered in the true next generation game console.
The Sony PlayStation is THE console [and started my Sony Fanboyism
05-20-2011
11:54 AM
My favorite system of all time is the psp 1000 because the possibilities were endless. The psp could almost do literally anything. You could play good 3d games, play emulators, change themes, install an operating system on it, go online, play online, you could also call someone using skype. On top of that you could have also used it as remote control for your tv. The psp blew my mind. The psp revolutionized sony. From the psp xmb was where sony got the ps3 xmb, tv xmb, and also blueray xmb, and who knows what else. The psp made history. My favorite games were killzone liberation, star wars battlefront, and need for speed most wanted. This is why I know the psp is the best gaming system. This is one the reasons why sony is still making it trying to perfect it.

Nintendo
Before all the fancy graphics that came the old school Nintendo was the best. The Controllers are simple to use. Hours of play seemed to take for ever to beat a game. I always played Excite bike, Ninja Gaden, and Final Fantasy. In 2009 the Nintendo Entertainment System was named the single greatest video game system ever played. Keep in mind as well the Nintendo 8 bit console was the longest-lasting production run that lasted 20 years The years that the nes lasted was from July 1983 to September 2003, before being discontinued in Japan. No so far no system has yet to beet that make of the NES production life span. Now their are emulators that allow the legend of the Nintendo system to continue forever to live. I have yet seen a system out live the NES in my life time of game play.
05-20-2011
11:56 AM

My favorite games console is XBOX 360 because it is hacked :D
05-20-2011
12:03 PM
At first I thought about NES, but after reading rirdrifta's post I should agree with him. PSP is the console with endless possibilities and you can take it everywhere! Emulation, homebrew and quality games are making this console the best for me.
05-20-2011
12:04 PM
For me it was the N64. I remember having so many good memories from it. banjo kazooie, zelda, mario. I remember staying up in the glow of the tv late at night playing starfox 64's training mission. It was really soothing.
05-20-2011
12:11 PM
SNES hands down. After getting the NES, moving up to the graphics of the the super nintendo was amazing. Starfox, Zelda, Chrono Trigger...simply awesome. And don't forget "mortal Monday"! SNES was ahead of it's time and I loved it.
05-20-2011

05-20-2011

Playstaion Portable (PSP) is my favorite, although most games are short but since the PSP has been jailbroken it unleashed the true potencial. best for homebrews and multi plaform emulation. design is slick fine glossy finished and the ceramic white is excelent.
and the best thing about it is -you can bring your entertainment anywhere.
05-20-2011
12:22 PM
Playstation Portable is my favourite.
The PSP is so versatile, it keeps amazing me.
Nostalgic ppl who haven't had a GBA/PS1/NES/SNES/MAME will find it a godsend.
Being able to play countless of emulated games + the PSP's amazing lineup!
05-20-2011
12:24 PM
The original Xbox(After it's been soft modded of course
). The system makes for one awesome all in one gaming machine with all the emulator's installed(NES, SNES, GBA, SMS, Genesis, MAME, etc,.) and XBMC installed for watching video files.
05-20-2011
12:27 PM
Many people did not like the Nintendo 64 but for me it just fellt so right, so what if the controll sucked and you spamed the buttons so the cracked. With a game like Mario64 and Zelda how could you not ?

The design of the console was juste wounderfull (if you hade a styled one ) like me
Maybe it's juste becouse i was a kid and 4 player golden gun on Goldeneye was Epic or becouse i hade so much time to play back then but still its enought for me to make it my favorite console of all time
05-20-2011
12:28 PM
My favorite console of all time is the Sony Playstation, growing up in the 90's my childhood was consumed by classics in todays eyes, such as Driver, Grand Theft Auto and the first three (and the best in my opinion) Resident Evil games, i still play games from them more than anything, I mean on my ps3 i own 5 blu-ray games but have a stack of ps1 classics, and even though my ps3 runs my games just fine, i can not bring myself to sell that grey box of mine. If I where to win this competition you can most definitely determine i will be spending it on nothing but the good old ps1 classics
I must say even though I do not like Sonys business decisions, they gave me some of the fondest moments of my childhood.
05-20-2011
12:29 PM
My favorite has to be the Super Nintendo. It was the first console my brother and I ever got. Whenever I think Super Nintendo I remember the good times I used to have with my brother trying to pass Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country, lol fighting most of the time haha good times.
05-20-2011
12:30 PM
The N64 cus the analog,D-pad and c-buttons gave it's user true control over the games they played and not to mention the greatest game ever made (The Legend Of Zelda Ocarina Of Time) was born on this system...That is all.
05-20-2011
12:30 PM
Super Nintendo - Why Super Nintendo ? Simply put it was the sequel that launched such Titles like Final Fantasy 2, Final Fantasy 3, Zelda- Link To the Past Etc.. Not to mention Super Mario World
Some you are thinking then why not NES ? Well altough the NES was a classic great system when it comes to sequels and new hardware design reinventing the home game console SNES is hands down the console to beat. Online gaming ? Anyone remember the xband. Handled system ? Super Gameboy. Lets face it SNES is the champ! Over 60 miliion sold, a libarary of games that extend some of the old time favorites, online gameplay, a port for the handled.
You can say the true revolutionary console system starter.
05-20-2011
12:42 PM
PS2 Slim. It's small, sturdy, and have a good selection of games even now.
05-20-2011
12:42 PM
I'm going to go with the Dreamcast. It had all the greatest arcade games available for a console with all of the attatchments (fishing rod, arcade stick, light gun, etc...).
Also I loved the fact that it was easily moddable to play backups either out of the box or just by simply adjusting a screw on the laser assembly.
I still have my Dreamcast with all of the attatchments. I will never get rid of it ..... ever!!
05-20-2011
12:44 PM
My favorite console has to be the SEGA Game Gear. I was one of the first kids in my neighborhood to own one, I remember being blown away by the fact I could play games in full color whilst playing on the streets with my friends. I had a lot of the classic games - Sonics, Mortal Kombat, Outrun etc. But the thing that topped it all off for me was the T.V Tuner add-on available, I remember watching the 1994 World Cup final on it....even though there was a full size T.V downstairs! Aaaahhhhh the memories!
05-20-2011
12:45 PM
My favourite was and is still the Playstation 2.

The first reason is because it was not so unstable like the ps3 ( i mean the ylod and other defects) it could not get defect easy, i had my plastation 2 for over 5 yeasr and never had a problem with it, and it's controllers are still the best (i mean quality).
The other reasons are because there were really much games that i loved and played wihtout a break, everyday and everynight
I could write the whole day about the ps2 but i think it's enough from me ;D
05-20-2011
12:47 PM
The Commodore Amiga CD32 of course

Why? Because it was the first console with a build in CD drive and it uses the best OS ever and a great game base for that time
05-20-2011
12:50 PM
My favorite console is the PStwo for it's nice thin design, (these are for PS2 in general) it's great game library, and nice start up screen.
By the way, I just wanted to say what my favorite console was. I unfortunately do not have PSN.
05-20-2011
12:54 PM
my favorite console has to be the xbox1 .. modded of course .. emulators , XBMC4XBOX, lots of good homebrew and of course easy 'backups' to the harddrive .. i still have 2 xboxs that get used everyday in my house.
05-20-2011
12:54 PM
I had my origional xbox soft modded with a clear case and greed leds, It was awsome because it had all the oldschool emulators and it could play burnt games. It was the first modded console i ever had and i still play it sometimes.
05-20-2011
12:55 PM
the 60GB PS3
because: it was my first console that i used much... and i loved the otheros, the black design, the "new way" for an console interface (XMB :P), the ps2 support... and of course the ps3 only games like uncharted...
05-20-2011
12:56 PM
i remember hearing about some one who new someone who had a mod chip for their ps1 that let them play imports but nothing like this... the sega dreamcast had the best of everything at the time. it had 4 player coop, un heard of at that point; which is now a staple. online play; cick your sister off the phone and crank up the ol 56k! or if you were super luck the ethernet adapter but who even had high speed at that point? the games sported some of the best graphics, audio, and original content ever to grace consoles. It had all the arcade hits before everyone else. Me and my older brother would just rock out all day playing powerstone or battleing in mr. driller. a good time was had by all! then the scene showed up and you didnt even need anything special. just a cdburner and some discs; play all the nes games, sega games, atari games, everything from the one console. the dreamcast is the absolute, hands down, indisputable grandfather of homebrew. we didnt even call it homebrew it was just "you can play everything on it!" also, the memory cards... games on the memory cards... epic. you would smuggle them off to school with you and battle people at lunch or recess for bragging rights or stuff in your games when you got back. awesome. i wish more attention would have been given to the dreamcast, it was truly a console ahead of its time.
05-20-2011
12:56 PM
i choose ps3 since since we have psn, God of war 3
, and sixais, its this that sets us apart from the competition. I love sony!!!
05-20-2011
12:56 PM
N64. The control was oddly shaped but its a classic nevertheless. It laid out the foundation for the future. Mario Cart, enough said.
05-20-2011
01:03 PM
playstation (psOne),
why not? it had the best rpgs ever ( Final fantasy 7,8,9) Suikoden, not to mention the Resident evil series (1,2,3) Dino crisis 1 & 2, Tekken 3 and so much more. The design and lifespan of the console was also very good. My PS1 lasted longer than my PS2 did. PSone FTW!
05-20-2011
01:04 PM
My favorite console is the Xbox 1 since it was the first console that I could play custom tracks during certain games and it gave birth to the Halo series <3
05-20-2011
01:07 PM
SNES! The 1st console I received for christmas way back in '92, the system that started my obsession, with games like Super Punch-Out, Super Mario Kart, Street Fighter II, and StarFox!!! Best system Ever!
05-20-2011
01:13 PM
is pc considered?
if not, then ps3..
pc coz its graphics are ALWAYS better then console, the mouse is easy to use and any accessory *joystick and stuffs* can be used..
ps3 coz of the controller, the analogue config is better then xbox *in my opinion*, and its extended media capabilities like the web browser.. watching youtube vids in HD on HD tv, and only ps3 has heavy rain *most epic game eva!* along with other epic titles like killzone.. etc etc..
05-20-2011
01:14 PM
Playstation. (Ps1)
This console was the start of many great series. I feel that the ps1 was the pioneer to greater graphics/games.
05-20-2011
01:14 PM
For me it is easily the PS2, more specifically the silver version.
(Which I have done)
(Which I have done)

, and is very rare for the motherboard to blow.
I say this for many reasons, as it has many capabilities.
Its so easy to install a modchip, which open up many crazy possibilities inlcuding backup playing, dvd's from any regions and many more
You can also install a hard disk, copy your games to it and play them too from hd loader/advance. And they work super speedy
You can also install freemcboot, and install your own homebrew which is pretty cool
I also think its the best because its the console where most games made their breakthrough from ps1 graphics, which werent exactly good to very good ps2 graphics at the time - including grand theft auto, gran turismo, driver...(you get the picture)
Personally, I also think it is the best looking home console(the silver one). I also have a ps3 (of course) and think the ps2 looks better. the ps3 looks good, but you have to admit its a bit big and has a bit of a wierd shape.
The ps1 controller was so good, that sony amazingly kept it for the ps2, then also the ps3(but xbox/xbox360 controller is good too.)
It also doesnt catch anything like the ylod
That is why the ps2 is the best console ever.
05-20-2011
01:18 PM
NES! Who don't remember Zelda...Metroid, mario...all games now days are based of what some of us grew up with...stick to your r00ts.
05-20-2011

Interesting thread for sure.
While I'm not really interested in the prize I would like to post a story about my favorite console and why, simply because I am bored at work and enjoy writing.
Ah, favorite of all time eh? Now that is a tough question. Each console has had it's redeeming qualities and games, although some are much more memorable. If I had to choose based on what brought me the most fun it was the Microsoft Xbox hands down.
Ah I remember back before live existed when Halo 1 came out. But I'm getting ahead of myself, let me back up.
Let's go back to a simpler time shall we, back to the days of NES and Atari.
The first console I ever had was an NES. It's at the beginning of my memories hanging on by a thread but I can vaguely remember playing Duck Hunt, Mario, and Mario 3. I distinctly remember, however, going to my rich friends house down at the end of the road and playing Mario 2. I was confused and frightened by what I saw, suddenly turnips held a great importance to me and I didn't like it at all. After that horrifying night I never played Mario 2 again, it wasn't the Mario I grew up with...it wasn't MY Mario.
Although I'd love to claim I enjoyed Zelda back in the day I cannot do so truthfully. I was simply to young or stupid at the time to appreciate what it was and became quite frustrated with the game. I did love the fact that it was a gold cartridge though, ah yes! I remember smiling with pride with my upheld golden beauty, but it was all vanity. How shallow of me.... The NES always has a place in my heart as the first console I had.
Fast forward a bit and my friends all had SNES or SEGA. I couldn't compete, my parents simply would not get me the next generation when I had a perfectly fine NES. Much to my chagrin I missed out on great games like Street Fighter, Secret of Mana, Earthworm Jim, and Toejam and Earl. Fortunately my neighbor had a sega and my rich friend down the street had an SNES.
I remember going to my rich friends party on afternoon. I was probably 12 or so, he was older like 15. I felt important hanging out with all these older kids...that is until the street fighter tourny took place. It was my first time playing Street Fighter, before that I had only played Mortal Kombat. I picked Blanka because he looked the coolest and proceeded to mash buttons.
Although I did manage to shock my opponent a significant number of times, it simply wasn't enough. Alas...the SNES generation will always have a taint in my memories. All because of one fateful night where I got my ass handed to me in Street Fighter. I never really liked the Mario Kart for SNES either, but then again I didn't play it til after I played Mario Kart 64.
Sega, on the other hand, has very fond memories for me. Since my neighbor had one and we were the same age I got a chance to play it much more than the SNES. Toejam and Earl was BY FAR my favorite game. I loved making music in the game, as simple as it was. I remember reading some magazine guide (this was before the widespread internet) about level 0 in that game. I spent many nights in that hottub. There were also games like Royal Rumble which were just fun as hell to play with friends. RBI baseball was another classic we played, and of course the sonics.
Moving forward yet again my other Buddy was the first to get an N64. OH the 3d glory! I remember watching him tweak Mario's face in 3d for the first time. I was stunned. The future of gaming had arrived and here I sat watching in disbelief. I BEGGED my parents to get me one, I even made a deal where I got my sister on board to have it as a "Joint Gift" for both of us. Eventually we got one along with Mario 64. This was my favorite console now, I liked it much more than the Playstation although I did enjoy twisted metal over at my neighbors. Then Mario Kart 64 happened and my world changed. Yeah..I got that special title screen with DK. Yeah.. I beat all the developers ghosts. Yeah.. I was addicted to that freaking game, and still am! I'll whoop some ass in MK64 any day, not like the new ones where the items are too souped up. No, once I got a lead in MK64 it was over. I remember a secret on rainbow road where you can jump off at the beginning. If you land it right you hop across about half the course in seconds...how cheap. There was another shortcut in DK's jungle level where you could glitch it out. Wario's level had a glitch too, I believe the internet was just gaining popularity at this point so I think that's where I found out about these secrets.
What a fantastic game though, it's ALMOST my favorite console and definitely was at the time simply because of that game.
OH, and don't get me started about Mario Party...that game should be banned for all the domestic violence it caused. And the greatest thing about Mario Party 1 was the minigames that had you rotate the analog stick. It DESTROYED them! I mean, those controllers were done after that game....but it was so fun stealing stars from your friends. I got in a huge fight with my cousin over that game once, I mean we always fought, but one time it just blew up. I ripped out the Mario Party cartridge and smashed it on the ground. Amazingly, it still worked. I couldn't say the same for my controllers though. Some other notable titles included Smash Brothers, GOLDENEYE OF COURSE, and Turok. Oh Star Fox was great too and of course Ocarina of Time was one of the greatest games ever made. In fact n64 had the best games around period. Then again final fantasy 7 made getting a playstation worth it.
The next generation I missed out on for a while. My cousin got a gamecube, my friend got an xbox, I didn't know anyone with a PS2. The gamecube largely left me disappointed. Although the controller looked weird it melted into your hand and I still believe it is the best controller ergonomically to date. Well, besides your hands and a Kinect. Smash brothers was tight for Gamecube but largely the same as the last one. Same thing with Mario Kart and other games. One game that stuck out was Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem...wow that title blew my mind. It would do things like pretend you hit the input button on your TV, or fake your controller being disconnected and show you dying. It broke the third wall like Metal Gear Solid 1 with the battle where you gotta switch controller ports. Blew my freakin mind man, they would have fake flys on the screen and other stuff that was great. I was stuck with my 64 for a while until Splinter Cell game out for Xbox. Somehow, some way, I managed to convince my mom to get me an xbox for Christmas. Wow... it was ok. I was kind of disapointed in it honestly...until Halo came out. Then...wow. This is why it's my favorite console.
We would get 8 of our friends together with 2 xboxes and TVs and have Halo battles for HOURS. I don't know how josh's parents put up with us because we were LOUD! We'd do 4 on 4 CTF on blood gulch and learned all the tricks. Putting jeeps on the teleporters, using a ghost as a door for the fort. We got extremely good at sniping and the pistol in Halo 1 was extremely powerful. You could snipe people across Blood Gulch if you were good enough. Then my nerdy friend found the program that let you connect to people on the internet before xbox live was out. We played with some people online who were extremely good, I mean it was a much much smaller pool of people playing.
We did get into Halo 2 a bit but by then we were all fading from it.
The current consoles are a blast for me now but I can't say I have as much fun as I did in those Halo parties. I mean it's great being able to physically hang out with your friends after a nice match. We would go out and smoke a joint or have a few beers or liquor or whatever. Great times in high school for sure, I really miss the Halo parties.
well I'm out of words to say now so enjoy.

My favorite is the PS2 because it has the best Dragonball Gamez eva-made,
like Budokai 3 or Budokai Tenkaichi 3...

01:34 PM
My favorite console?Hmmmmm definitely Playstation 1!
Why?:
I've got so many awesome memories of me playing Crash Team Racing, Crash Bandicoot. I even played on it when I was sick. And I still play Ps1 game, they are so simpel yet elegant. I've played more on my psone then I have played on my ps3!

01:38 PM
My favorite console is the SNES. You got LoZ:LTTP, Secret of Mana, Super Mario RPG....you had all the greatest games, with a fantastic controller!!! The upgrade in graphics from NES to SNES was amazing, and everybody loves the sound chips.

05-20-2011
01:39 PM
Playstation 2
Ofcourse i cant get better then that
Gameplay and graphics was a nice balance,Online functionality, biggest game library and very affordable price.
Currently i m running a gameshop nothing is beating the sales of PS2.
I also love this because this console is the Hometown of Kratos lol
Its still a Perfect Mix

01:53 PM
i have so many awesome memories with so manydifferent games and systems, but my favorite system would have to be the sega dreamcast. Just because it felt like a HARDCORE MACHINE it was amazing. when i first saw the system at gamestop i saw nfl 2k> LOOKED SO REALISTIC i thought it was a real people HAHA. WELL thats my favorite console. i do have to throw in my favorite game and that is HALO franchise. Halo is forever stuck in my soul.

01:59 PM
Original dmg gameboy, spent hours on end on this console. Games such as mario land and tetris were brilliant. One of the first consoles i could take anywhere. Now days i still play on it but also use it to make chiptunes which i incorporate into my dj sets. So in my opinion the best console.
05-20-2011
02:03 PM
Well I would have said the Sega Genesis back in the day and then maybe the PS2, but I would have to say I really love the PS3. Besides the awesome graphics and power to play games I think I love one other feature the most. I am a huge movie buff with over 900 blu-ray titles. I have backups on usb that I play through the ps3. The clarity on my panasonic plasma is crazy.
Don't get me wrong I love to play some COD every now and then along with some other titles. I just wish the PS3 had been made like the android where things were open source for the users to have control of the device they purchased.
All in all the PS3 imo is the best console ever, hands down.
05-20-2011
02:08 PM
I would say my good old PS2 eating dust right now. It had (and still has of course) the most solid collection of games to chose from. It had Metal Gear Solid as best shooter, SSX3 as one of the better or maybe best sports games and NFS Hot Pursuit as a solid racer. SSX3 was my absolute favourite, of all console games I've played. Can't wait for the sequel in december for the PS3
05-20-2011
02:12 PM
My favorite video game console is the original SNES becuase of its massive game collection and classics such as zelda, mario kart and final fantasy 3. This was the console that truly turned me into a gamer. The ammount of time I spend playing on my SNES is far greater than that Ive spent on any other gaming system including my PS3. Cheers.
05-20-2011
02:12 PM
SNES is my console of choice. I can't remember de number of hours I spent playing the games, but I guess it is more than the time I've spent playing on PlayStation family altogether. It was very pleasant and enjoyable.
Back at the time, we had to rent cartridges, borrow from friends. Wasn't easy: we had walk (or bike) several miles to rent a game. That all makes all the experience more memorable.
05-20-2011
02:13 PM
the playstation portable as a great console it had great hombrew capabilities as well as sme great games
05-20-2011

02:22 PM
The Wii is my favorite console to date, and in my opinion one of the most important. Nintendo took a very bold move, and due to the success of the Wii, we've seen Microsoft and Sony create their own motion control devices.
I think that thanks to the Wii, we can expect a whole new realm of possibilities in gaming as motion control becomes more accurate and robust.
05-20-2011
02:23 PM
I would have to say the Super Nintendo was my favorite system of all time. I grew up on NES, but the games were so great on SNES that they stick with you from childhood. My favorite game of all time Final Fantasy 3 (a.k.a. FFVI in Japan) originated on the SNES along with classics like Super Metroid, Mario Kart, so many people hack their systems just to run emulators and roms, but we all know why! Remember when Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter 2 were released for it?! Great days in gaming!
05-20-2011
02:23 PM
My favorite console is the PS3 320GB because I love the awesome games that I can play on it, the huge memory to view all my media and download all my games, and the online multiplayer capabilities...its such a great thing. (Plus the MOVE controllers and games *.*)
05-20-2011
02:24 PM
My opinion PS3. nice shape, awesome controller, cool CD cover and game exclusives, HD movies, PSN , it only does everything
05-20-2011
02:24 PM
My Favorite is the PS3, because it has a lot of games, excellent graphics, and free multriplayer online. And also has nice hombrew.
05-20-2011
02:26 PM
My favorite console is the PSX, why? simple because it was revolutionary in its time with a great vision for the future, had a lot of games and began a stage where they developed games that revolutionized the way you play video games and their graphics as they were metal gear solid, FF, resident evil, silent hill, Xenogears, etc. ..
05-20-2011
02:26 PM
PS2, its the best console ever for me. I never played with so many people before. I only picked it up and went to my friends. Its better to play with friends, who I know and not with strangers. And they were games with quality and not quantity.
:-*

02:29 PM
My favourite game console was the Super Nintendo because i loved the Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island and the Super Mario All-Stars games. Ohh old memories.
05-20-2011
02:46 PM
My favourite is the N64 simply because it introduced me to 3d as well as the first multiplayer (goldeneye) 4v4 was sooo amazing back in the day. Look where we are now in multiplayer.
N64 takes it for this reason.
05-20-2011
02:50 PM
My favorite console would have to be the N64, because of three numbers.
007
05-20-2011
02:52 PM
My favourite console was the Super Nintendo, purely because I could play Super Mario World and it reminds me of the times I played hours on end with my brother.
05-20-2011
02:56 PM
The best console made so far hands down is clearly the game boy advance sp. The first nintendo handheld with a back lit screen and a rechargeable battery, plus it was fully backward compatible. as far as features and game library I would say that nothing beats it
05-20-2011
02:57 PM
My favorite console: Wii, reasons:
- Emulates Atari 2600, NES, SNES, GBA and others at full speed, which are among the best consoles (for me), thus, allows me to play again my favorite games of all times.
- Its Opera Browser is good enough for temporary use
- There are no true mandatory updates (there's always patching, or updating custom IOSes to make certain games work)
- GC backward compatibility in all models (Though newer drives won't work with backups)
- No bans from Nintendo's Wi-Fi Connecetion (unless you cheat)
- No 'surveillance' on what you do with YOUR console unlike certain companies...
- Wiiflow USB Loader rocks
- There are several customized Guitar Hero games
- Wii is very small and it's easy to take to a friend's house
- A lot of useful stuff (i.e Priiloader, BootMii, etc)
- You can use custom themes for the system menu (through homebrew)
- Super Smash Bros Brawl has a high level of customization possibilities by now (even custom soundtracks by replacing brstm songs...the closest it'll ever get to real custom soundtracks though)
[OFF-TOPIC] I've owned Atari 2600, NES, SNES, GBA, PSX, GC, Wii, PSP and PS3 (and I plan on getting Xperia Play smartphone as soon as it comes out, and NGP when it comes out as well), but after the good oldies, the Wii is the only one (besides the PSP) that has given me so much fun for years, if I hadn't a Wii I'd have chosen PSP. PS3's scene was a bit too short-lived to me...
05-20-2011
02:59 PM
This is actually pretty hard for me, as I have owned almost every console ever created, and loved many of them. If I had to break it down, the logical choice would actually be the computer, as the PC can play every console system game (besides PS3). Currently, I own a PS3, PC, and will be getting a Sony NGP when it comes out. But I think all in all, my all-time favorite game system is the PlayStation 3. Think about it, it plays all those PS1 and PS2 titles that were amazing (through emulation or hardware), it plays all movies and music you put into it, PS3 games, PSP remote play in full 1080p, Video editor, FREE online gaming, great themes, PlayStation Home, all the great Sony exclusive accessories and games, upgradeable hard drive (I have a 512GB SSD), until 3.41 the system updates always had improved features, one of the only consoles to support Linux (
), cheap Blu-Ray player when it came out, supports 3D and full HD 1080p (first console to do so), plus all the great homebrew created by the fantastic developers out there! In terms of hardware, it stumps every other console, in terms of software, it still does. EVEN WITH all the current events taken into account. That's my opinion, I hope you guys like it.

Super Nintendo!
I chose the Super Nintendo because it have some of the greatest game ever on it such as Killer Instinct, Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario World and the list goes on! I grew up with this system and is no doubt one of the best system ever!!!
05-20-2011
03:04 PM
Snes is my favorite console of all time. It was the console I had the most games for during my childhood, and it was the console I grew up with. I also had an NES, but my parents bought my brother and myself an SNES and a Genesis the year they came out and the SNES is what stuck with me. Provides me with the most happy thoughts of nostalgia when I boot up Yoshi's Island or Super Mario RPG.
05-20-2011
03:05 PM
my favorite gaming console is definetly the ps3 why cause it only does everything ps3 gets hacked psn gets hacked etc etc etc.
05-20-2011
03:11 PM
Of Course the nintendo 64!!! i had a lot of gret times with my friends and girlfriends playing... well all kinds of mario hahaha and super smash!!
05-20-2011
03:12 PM
Never tried it but why not give it a shot?

My favorite console is the Playstation 3 slim. It's my favorite console because its controller is wireless, you can add friends, the controller is amazingly comfortable, has an outstanding internet access ( not to think about what has been going on lately), and to finish, its owner, Sony, has done a great job into bringing back the online services.
05-20-2011
03:13 PM
tough call... it's always a toss up between the SNES and the Gamecube IMO.
I'm going with SNES. It has my second favorite controller (NGC being #1) and it was near the peak of games being gameplay > graphics. Plus Super Mario World is the greatest game of all time. That makes the SNES great just by residual closeness.
05-20-2011
03:15 PM
The PS2 for me was hands down the best. It may be because it was the 1st console I ever modded with the old flip-top. But mainly because of Socom. I played Socom 1 & 2 more then I worked back then. I was so addicted to that console. I also love the controller, everything was just in place. The Xbox controller was just to bulky for me.
05-20-2011
03:16 PM
The xbox 360 may have worse hardware the then the the ps3 but, that dosen't make for a worse console. It has (in my opinion) some better games and a MUCH better controller (when I play any racing game my fingers slip off the L2 and R2 buttons). Xbox live has superior features and it *ahem* is always up. You may have to pay $60 for the service but, it is well worth it. I promise I am not a ps3 hater (I have the luxury of owning both consoles) but, the xbox 360 is still my favorite (even without the blu-ray).
05-20-2011
03:26 PM
I loved the N64 because it was the console I grew up with. Not to mention it used cartridges which let you save without a memory card and didn't have to load every 5 seconds in games. On top of that, there was 4-player support for amazing games like Goldeneye 007, Diddy Kong Racing, and more. My main reason though, is the games it had: Rush 2, Mario 64, Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, Goldeneye, and possibly my favorite game of ALL TIME, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Hope I win!
05-20-2011
03:28 PM
Well for me it would have to be the Nintendo64. I even remember when i got it it was in my b-day. Use to play it everyday that i got from school with my brother trying to beat Super Mario 64 and Donkey Kong 64. Does where the time that i really enjoy!. I still know the controller desings that it had lol i thinks i still have mine lying around somewhere. Dont know if it work lol. And why i like the N64 bring back good memories.
05-20-2011
03:29 PM
My fav. console of all time is the nintendo 64 because it was my first console and i loved the controller and to beat the ass of my brother in nba pro 98. Of course Super Mario was the best game.
05-20-2011
03:30 PM
my favorite console is ps3 slim 250gb because it has bluray playback i can watch all my blurays on it without buying a additional one on it online play is free and it has very good exclusive games and very awesome controller and 1080p suppourt and has good internet connection options.
05-20-2011
03:34 PM
but my favorite has to be the Playstation Portable FAT1000!
It was the most advanced handheld device in 2005, it did everything most devices didn't. The games were high-quality, playstation 2 comparable graphics and easily surpassed the playstation 1. It was almost a mini-computer, or at least what the majority of people used the computer for.
..it kept me in game mode away from home.
Then came, The Infamous Dark Alex.
and CFW became the only way the psp could truly shine!
Still today, although sonys tries to lock it down, their inability to do so or I think maybe it is the real computer designers that left a door unlocked for us to find to utilize it to the best it could ever be. We will never know.
It also came out in march, on my birthday, and after all these years.. it's been the best and most memorable toy that has the ability to play all the games I grew up with.
05-20-2011
03:35 PM
Snes is by far my favorite system
Simple yet easy to use controller
And the games oh the games some of the best games ever made <3
05-20-2011
03:45 PM
My favorite console is the PS2 because it had the biggest game library of that generation. I LOVED playing 007 Nightfire MP all day with my brother and our friends. Besides, it had San Andreas and Vice City!
05-20-2011
03:51 PM
My favorite game console is PS3 even more now because of PS Move, I like it because the games are very good (infamous, LBP, AC brotherhood and alot more) the move controllers are good (calibration), the graphics are very good and I think PS3 is much better than XBOX360!
05-20-2011
03:55 PM
My Favorite console is ps2 because it was my first moded console and i had so much fun playing dragon ball z games and naruto games on it with my friends and because it has so much games more than the ps3 also ps2 games was more fun than ps3 games, I dont say ps3 games are not fun but the ps3 games are always about good graphics and not about how much fun the gameplay is ,although i had so many problems with my ps2 consoles (they broke fast lol) but i still like it the best because i had so much fun playing multi player fighting games and liked some singleplayer games (kingdom hearts 2,final fantasy dirge of Cerberus).
05-20-2011
03:58 PM
I love the PS3 because it's the first console I ever bought and it's got an awesome processor, was open, had linux support, used a standard HDD and standard USB ports, does DLNA support which I use all the time for streaming from my PC and I love the games that were released for it. It's a real entertainment hub
05-20-2011
04:00 PM
My favorite console seventh generation video game console is the Sony Playstation 3. It will blow you away with it's intense action games like Uncharted and Infamous and the Online service is great even though it's free. Don't even get me started on the awesome graphics. Although people keep saying Xbox 360 is better, sorry Microsoft, I'm sticking with the PS3 no matter what!
05-20-2011
04:02 PM
my favourite console is still the good old snes

i spent a lot of gaming hours. thinking back on super mario world, zelda a link to the past, super mario all stars, zombies, etc... so much good games!!

04:03 PM
i still love the dreamcast, if feel sorry for it being released the same week as final fantasy 7 and being blown out of the water, i love how the memory cards are like tamagotchi's for the chao on sonic adventure and although it had a short life span it still was the first console to feature a modem and support online play

If I were on a deserted island, and the only things I were able to have was electricity, a TV, and one video game console, hands down I'd pick the NeoGeo AES System. I'm an arcade nut. If I had twenty dollars, I'd get every cent in quarters and spend my time in an arcade. So what's better than having an arcade at home?
There are so many iconic names on the NeoGeo. Metal Slug, WakuWaku7, Fatal Fury, Last Blade, Samurai Showdown, Sengoku, King of Fighters, NeoGeo Coliseum, Garou: Mark of Wolves, etc. The list goes on.
The controller is sublime. It's tight, and feels like it belongs at home. And if you dislike joysticks, they made joypads. You couldn't go wrong with this console if you're a fighting game nut, or you like some simple arcade beat 'em ups or shoot 'em ups.
So it can't play Blue Rays, it can't output music, it can't go online. And that's what today's standards in consoles consist of. If it doesn't have any of those, most people don't like them... especially if they don't have online. But who said online is a necessity? What happened to old retro arcade gaming?
Only thing that led it in was how expensive the console and games were. But it was definitely a powerhouse before the 64 bit era came around. Most of my gaming has been spent on a NeoGeo AES.

04:12 PM
PS2 I still play on it today more than my PS3 games like metal gear 2,3 soul reaver 2,3 are fab.I do think that the PS3 came out before the PS2-XBOX were done(Maybe give them another year)
05-20-2011
04:13 PM
Dreamcast was released 1999, earliest being 1998. Lol.

04:14 PM
My favourite console has to be the PSP. The PSP, despite being handheld it has amazing graphics. In addition, it has amazing games of all genres. and even if your friend doesnt have the same game as you, you can still play with him if the game has a gamesharing option! And to top it all of, it has the best scene that is still being updated everyday with loads of new homebrew. Not to mention all the great emulators that you can take with you where ever you go! The best part is that developers are not afraid to release created apps and aren't attention hogs so even if they are afraid of being served with court documents, they just release it anonomously (for example: Dark Alex)

04:15 PM
My favorite would be Nintendo 64 it was a huge change from the SNES. I loved the controller, Goldeneye 007!, StarFox 64, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, super Smash Bros, and many other titles that I really loved and still play =)
05-20-2011
04:16 PM
Playstation 2. The Playstation 2 was the console that started true gaming with stunning graphics (at least for its time) and its smooth controls. I loved the many racing and fighting games that were introduced through the Playstiation 2. And you have to admit, without the PS2 there wouldn't be a PS3. That would make me sad.
05-20-2011
04:17 PM
It's hard to choose but I guess I'll go for the SNES :
great controller, great games, great system
05-20-2011
04:18 PM
I still love my Atari 2600 6-switch "wood" console, now with S-Video out for crispy graphics.
It works since... well, about 30 years?!
And ALL game cartridges too! It´s nice to collect that old stuff.
Don´t know what will be with my PS3 BDs in 30 years... but my atari will last that time
05-20-2011
04:22 PM
the Sega Genesis. Was my first console, brings me goood memories, had a killer sound chip (remember that bass in galaxy force 2) Thats the start of the multi million dollar videogame industry.-

My favorite is the PS2 because of it's awesome variety of games and most are classics. You can't beat Shadow of the Colossus or even Metal Gear Solid 3. This is the console that changed the industry and paved the way for the rest.

My favourite console is the original Xbox, not mainly because of the design, but the mostly for the exclusives and the possibility to install linux.
A great gaming machine and a great home pc

To Choose a best console would be hard because I have so many Old and New, But if it really comes down to it I would have to say the Atari 2600. The Atari is in my opinion one of those consoles that started gaming for many 18 year olds like me, because come on really who's parents did not own an Atari. It has nice crispy 8-bit graphics and no online play, which means if all this PS3 jailbreak stuff gets to be to much in the end I will always have good old trusty PITFALL to go back to and play my hours away.
05-20-2011
04:53 PM
PS3 is my favourite console of all time because it plays all my media, runs linux, plays all the classic consoles such as megadrive and Snes and also since it came out I have never laughed harder at a billion dollar company as they epically fail over and over again and show no signs of stopping!

04:54 PM
My favorite console is the Sega Dreamcast, why? because this console was revolutionary for real gammers, not like the Wii, it was the first console to have amazing graphics. Actually the game Sonic Adventure 2, it was released for Nintendo Game Cube, and both games were equal on graphics and gameplay, even when the Game Cube was released years later then the Sega Dreamcast...
And that's the reason because my favorite Video Game Console, is the Sega Dreamcast.... I miss my DC
(Sorry for my bad english, I'm from South America)

04:55 PM
SNES - in my opinion, the breakthrough in home gaming, better graphics and gameplay then any of its predecessors and rival consoles by far - and the graphics were (and still are considering its age) amazing

Atari 2600
Such great memories. The pure feeling of joy Christmas mourning opening that package of 8-bit goodness Atari brought into my life from the arcade. Hands cramping up and thumb blisters from playing Donkey Kong, Pac-Man and Empire Strikes Back for hours on end. Friends actually at your house trying to beat each others high scores. Such good times.

05:03 PM
My favorite console is the original XBOX because I could use XBMC on it, it was the greatest!

The PSP. Just helped me get though time when I was on a trip for a month!

I love Playstation 2. It has many, many great games but the 2 biggest reasons are those:
1.PS2 Linux Kit which is awesome (and Sony approved, it was the first time console had an option to install another operating system)
2. It was the first video game console that could served as home media center. It played music, played movies, you could even watch pictures on it. That's why PS2 was awesome. It was multifunctional.

05:27 PM
Whether or not my choice should be considered i believe it's valid.
My favourite gaming device would simply be the good'ol arcade machine, As far as technology and gaming has come to this date i believe the old retro classic games are the best, Frustration was very little compared to nowadays console games - 2 player side by side action was awesome - The buttons and Ball-top joystick was/and still is a hell of alot easier than todays console controllers.
And seeing your initials in the top 10 or 20 score was a dream come true in the local arcade hangout !
Metal slug series - Old space invaders - Pacman! All these old games are just priceless!
Abuse back then over games was near-nill compared to todays online team playing games!

05:32 PM
Sega Dreamcast
Really ahead of its time with all the homebrew opportunities....plus first system with online play. NBA 2k was awesome as was NFL 2k. Power Stone, Soul Calibur, Crazy Taxi, Sonic Adventures...just a lot of fun had on the system!
05-20-2011
05:42 PM
My favorite console is Dreamcast, all the exclusive games like Shenmue 1 & 2, Power Stone 1 & 2, Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, GigaWing, HeadHunter, Soul Calibur 1, make me impressed for the epoch and the actual days.
The Dreamcast controller was the best im my opinion, the buttons "fit" perfectly in control. With the Dreamcast controller, games like Quake 3 Arena, or MDK 2, were more perfect than they already were.
I will ever remember the perfect console.

05:47 PM

My fav console would be the PS2.
I would also pick PS1 but the PS2 is also a PS1, so PS2(;
Any way i picked PS2 because it was a console that was i would say error proof. You can play awesome games and awesome PS1 games. You can play online peacefully. No game Patches, no updates, no downloading. Its the perfect console. Plus you can have Action Replay! Free game cheats! And they are released with no problem! You dont get sued or banned for using cheats! The PS2 is a simple gaming system capable of keeping a gamer happy. Another good reason is the memory. You have memory cards, you can save files anytime, and anywere! The save files arent that large either! I can trade fiiles with my friends and much much more! The PS2 was the best system ever! My favorite to date, even though i use my PS3 more, the PS2 is my favorite system. Its simple, portable, free to use, easy to use, and everything!
05-20-2011
05:56 PM
my best console/handheld console is the psp because you can customize (cfw) your device play homebrew, and how you can play online without the need of updating the console. and how you can mod it anyway you want and all ps3 features.

06:01 PM
I would have to say my favorite was the original PS1.

My reasons why are as follows:
I loved the controller. It just seemed perfect at the time. There's a reason why it hasn't changed in design (except for the addition of analog sticks) for 3 generations.
The games. I played countless games on the system, it was an RPG haven, as well as plenty of action and adventure games. When I bought my first PS1, way back when for 400 bucks, my Saturn, 3do, and Turboduo all sat there unused for months.
The graphics and sound were unmatched at the time. Creating a unique user experience second to none.
I went through at least 5 PS1's, and even had a couple new-in-box units in storage in case the ps1 I was using broke in the middle of a game, I could quickly open a replacement, and continue with my game.
Ah, those were the days.

SEGA MegaDrive (SEGA Genesis)
To say it simple as possible - it defined gaming for me and it defined my childhood.
You could NEVER get bored of such a machine. To this day, nostalgia feelings from playing the MegaDrive can get me a lil emotional. The only reason I'd ever consider getting a CFM for my PS3 would be so that I can just play a SEGA MegaDrive Emulator on it.
05-20-2011
06:04 PM
Oh man does that system bring back some awesome memories and it is by far my favorite system. The Dreamcast so much homebrew on it and it's still going today, it also has 2 of my favorite games, Ikaruga and Gauntlet Dark Legacy. Along with that it brought up some other awesome 4 player games. It was also the first system to use online. What more reason would you want xD.
05-20-2011
06:05 PM
My favorite console is the N64, it was my first ever console and I loved to play 007 Golden eye and super mario 64 on it.
05-20-2011
06:23 PM
The PS2 was my favorite when i was only 4. I got my first ps2 and still play it till this day! The ps2 wont die for a long time. My first games were: Tekkan tag tournament, Gran Turismo 3, Crazy Taxi, Sims 2, Off road fury. The ps2 is awesome!!! I will always play it!
05-20-2011
06:31 PM
PsX best one yet, with all those RPGs like FFVII, FFVIII,FFIX, Chrono Cross,
Chrono Trigger, deng there's so much to name.
Also gotta love that psx design, so old school now.
That controller came out with joysticks later on.
Best selling system and best selling game "FFVII"!
Sexy it is.

My fav was/is the NES because it gave the greatest game to date. Super mario bros 1. Gave out the greatest titles that still are massive today. smash tv? smb3 anyone? Robocop and robocop vs teminator,my first experiences with a console are still the best for me, when games were made out of passion not profit.
05-20-2011
06:40 PM
i would say for me the best of the best consoles would be the snes, just because it had mario on it plain and simple and the ones that was not released they put it in mario allstars, i remember staying up night apon night on mario 2 trying to chuck eggs at dino's,but then it also had some of the amiga classics on there like syndicate and lost vikings , if only it had north & south on it , or maybe it did . bollocks to mortal kombat and clay fighters in them days its all about the mario games , nothing ever touched them and still doesnt

06:42 PM

The Sega Dreamcast
Not only was it home to the first successful console based mmo (Phantasy star online) It revolutionized the idea of console based online gaming. Games like Shenmue, Sonic adventure, Blue stinger, Jet Grind Radio future, and even echo the dolphin allowed for epic adventures which in both length and innovation still to this day rival many newer games that come out. The virtual memory unit allowed us to trade saves to friends and play mini games while away from our Dreamcasts also in many games showing a miniature H.U.D or even miniature versions of our characters performing the actions we seen on screen. The Dreamcast was also the most versatile when it came to game audiences. While the N64 was targeted at families with its E rated and Teen games the ps1 was aimed more at teenagers and adults. The Dreamcast had Casual games such as Sega bass fishing, seamen, Space Channel 5 and Samba De Amigo. Teen games which were actually awesome to play as a teen, such as Jet grind radio, Maken X (FPS..first person sword game)and Shenmue, and adult games that would scare the pants off you Blue Stinger, Sword of the Berserk, IllBleed, Zombie Revenge, Alone in the Dark The New Nightmare and d2. Call me a Sega geek, but I wrote all this due to my passion. The Dreamcast still has yet to be touched. The reason why I love the Sega Dreamcast, Is because the Dreamcast made my childhood amazing, because i spent hours deeply involved in character development, even in games that weren't rpgs. Because even after the dreamcast died I was able to still play dreamcast games on other consoles, games like Sonic Adventure 2 battle, Shenmue 2, Jet set radio future. The Dreamcast is the only console that will never die, even though its unappreciated and underrated to this day dreamcast games are both influencing and changing the way we play games. That dual screen idea on the ds? Vmu baby pure vmu my console kicks ass. When it rains in gta? Remember Shenmue. Crazy taxi, remember who it started with. Everything in these games today that people loves so much, us Sega fans have experienced years ago. I had everything now back then for a cheaper prices, with free online. MvC2>MvC3 Street Fighter Alpha third strike>Street fighter 4. Dreamcast was and is everything you all are drooling over now. Dreamcast was my life. Even to this day to me the boot intro is the best that has ever been in a console. So simple yet so deep.

The best console is N64, with Zelda Ocarina of Time.
I learn 20 songs for the ocarina hahahaha
I dont forget:
Mario 64
Mario Party
Goldeneye
Perfect Dark
Incredible console, a miss you.... hahahaha
05-20-2011
07:26 PM
My favourite console is the ps3 because of its awesome graphics, the ability to watch vids from external Hard Drive, games like ratchet and clank, final fantasy, Online gaming with friends (like Call of Duty: Black Ops), Ps Move for active players (e.g. Time Crisis and The Fighter)
AND...........
Upcoming game sequals from the ps2, (e.g. ps2 Ratchet and Clank -> Ps3 Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time) like Call of Duty and hopefully there be will a Kingdom Hearts 3 on PS3.

07:31 PM
Well there are so many consoles to choose from... My favorite hands down was the N64. I woke up on christmas to find a brand new N64, Honestly being as young as i was i had no clue what it was. My dad hooked it up and I was in love. I didn't care what game i was playing as long as i "beat" it. lol

07:45 PM
I know this does not count since i am staff here, but anyway wanted to put this out!
My favorite console is the sega megadrive (Genesis) i was like 4 or 5 when started playing it! and i still play it today it still works after almost 20 years!
I remember playing ours of mortal kombat 1/2/3 hours of streets of rage 1 and 2, sonic and street fighter II championship edition! ah the old times
I feel sorry for some young folks who never got around playing this kind of games!
Also i have to mention the psx (as a tie with the megadrive) for the great games it had! all the final fantasy's the tekkens sould calibur Gran turismo! i could go all day!
By the way greg great competition you got running here!
05-20-2011
07:46 PM
My favourite console is the PSP, since this little machine can handle a huge library of games (PSP and PSOne games), with the advantage of playing with those anywhere, anytime. As it has the PSOne game library, you can play almost all of them (that's +2,400 games).
And this gadget has lots of features in it, like Skype, a browser, a video and audio player and a camera (with the accesory attached, of course).
The PSP is a very versatil handheld, that satisfies all my gameplay and other needs.
05-20-2011
07:47 PM
My fav console has to be the SNES, that's the console that got me into RPG games and i have never looked back since, there are so many hours to be had from them type of games.
05-20-2011
07:48 PM
My favorite game console was the NDS lite. It had a very nice form factor and such a huge variety of games. Totally revived puzzle gaming for me. Probably the best platform for homebrew I've come across due to the massive community and simplicity to find what you're looking for.
05-20-2011
07:51 PM
Playstation 3 is my favorite because
1. Online play is free.
2. Has very good games, MAG, Uncharted, Killzone.
3. All around great console, and its even better if you have CFW.
05-20-2011
07:55 PM
Playstation 3 is the best because of its processing power. It easily beats the Xbox 360 in my opinion because online game play is free. I don't play games everyday so I don't want to be charged for the times that I'm not even online. That way, I can enjoy online FIFA anytime I want without any thoughts of wasting money.
05-20-2011
07:57 PM
too much to choose from but i say the Nintendo 64
1. has many classics like mario and zelda
2. used cardriges, NO SCRATCHES
3. The design of the controller was the best
05-20-2011
08:04 PM
i choose Sega Gamegear,it was the first console ive seen in color with its shaped almost like a psp, in our days with its favourite game of Sonic the Hedgehog.
05-20-2011
08:05 PM
My favorite console is definitely the N64 because it was the console that I grew up with and the games were just simply amazing Starfox 64, Zelda OoT, Goldeneye, Super Mario 64, and Super Smash Bros were games that I enjoyed replaying over and over. I liked the console design and actually miss cartridge games with no loading screens.
05-20-2011
08:06 PM
My favorite console is the playstation 3. I enjoy the media features it provides such as music and movies. I also enjoy its exclusive titles like God Of War an Uncharted. Also the hombrew capabilities as of today.

08:11 PM
my love console was dreamcast
Soul Calibur 3, it finally can uzhos, combo - 2-3 hits .... not funny .. and 65% of strokes disappeared );

(sorry for russian language)

why? because i love games from this console like
№ 1. Dead or alive 2 (because of: the prefix and the emulsion itself more accessible than x-box and sony 2);
Deep Fighter (the underwater world, a lot of jobs, weapons, upgrades, swimming facilities .... oh, and did not pass ... now kyu)
Ecco the Dolphin (sony 2 version impossibly light weight, such as for stupid, so the version for the Dream - taxis);
ECW: Anarchy Rulz (here is the best fighting system of wrestling, and no glitches), as much remembered for Wrestlemania 16 bits, clamps, hooks;
Illbleed (as if he're in a horror film);
HeadHunter (after this game all the movies-boevichki just atstoy. Because they do not pouchavstvuesh Smile);
Maken X: Deu ex machina (1-person, the simulator Samurai, without exaggeration .... and a bunch of characters and bosses .. and .... So Dr., etc.);
Record of Lodoss war (class not worse than Diablo, and maybe even better ... all the monsters here were moved to the Shining Force neo, and then to the exa (Sony 2));
Resident Evil: Code - Veronica (know komments)
Shenmue + Shenmue 2 (sorry no further, and the second time to play not so interesting)
Skies of Arcadia (in the list of all jRPG, in my view it occupies a place in the top 10, really liked the fighting ships, the system influence the color of swords, magic and battles with the bosses .... That would be re-released)
Soul Calibur (Soul kalibur on Drime to schedule the best. What is more Soul Calibur 2? (Sony 2?, Same kalibur only heap + Weapons + new characters, and now the important thing to know the combo .. and most importantly the "minus" - where My Siegfried (as a separate character and not a variation costume nightmare), I will not forgive! yes and graphics become smaller
Spawn: In the demon's hand (Voto Rubilovo, especially for 4-player);
Toy Commander (eh. .. more to these games ... the most original game of them all, and besides - it is quality)
In conclusion, I can not put some of these games in place less than 1 second. They have all the best.
P.S. 4 Wheel Thunder, a race against time .. it's an amateur
Drakonus not included, because similar games I was going and sony 2 and PC ... and bosses are not pleased ... or rather lack of them .. the best level - this is the second)
Metropolis Street Racer ... this class, just superr, I took great pleasure in firemennom drive (no concessions kudosa) ... but taking into account the Flat Out 2 ... I like it.
Fighting Vipers 2 - sorry you can not go into 3D, and game by 10 points. Here, the most colorful characters of all fighting games. I-No need to learn from Raxel'a oruduvat guitar.
Garou: Mark of the Wolves - Gilt Gears I like, the only drawback is the lack of character ... it's Jay Hoon or Kim Kap Hwan smile;
Grandia 2 (on a PC is only poєtomu ... and the grand 3 - better);
4x4 Evolution, Crazy Taxi 2, House of the Dead 2, KISS: Psycho Circus - The Nightmare Child, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, Omicron, Rsychic Force 2012,, Quake 3: Arena, Re-Volt, Rayman 2: Great Escape , Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Slave Zero works well on XP ... heh ... see update emula for Vista on XP;
Max Steel - cool game for those who held a bounty hunter, I suggest. Although better than vice versa.
Power Stone 2, just does not have ... but something tells me the similarities to Ooga Booga, Spawn and Heavy Metal;
Plasma Sword (Star Gladiator 2) ... underrated by many as a fighting game, and Tech Romancer. We did better fit? But they advise pogamat.
Sega GT (was one game series Gran Turismo? Consider that took them all.
Sonic? Sonis? Sonic!!! Just my favorite part, this is the third in 16 bits.
Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2 (racing + fighting ... Voto crossed ... already passed 3 times in a row ... like all the machines open ... yeah, right now ... mock the poor gamers, and therefore in the top 10 not entered. . so you know ours)
All of the above perelichennye games are good. And do not forget to Outrigger, Dynamite Cop, Dave Mirra, Chu-Chu-Rocets, Bomberman online and fishing.
Games rule.
very pity dreamcast like platform die
i remember this console forever
this my first console was

I would have to say its the Nintendo GameCube, its cooperative and competitive games where fun. It created so many memorable and fun moments. I wish I could say more, but it's that simple and fun.

08:16 PM
My favorite system would have to be the virtual boy by Nintendo. I remember picking it up on sale at toys R us being my first video game system. What I liked about is at the time were its 3d graphics. While the games were only in red I can see why it didn't do so well, but just the fact that I would immerse myself into the game by looking into the lenses, it was something completely new to me which is why I admired it so much.

The PS3 (60gb) is mine favorite.
!
I play so much the games final fantasy and Kingdom Hearts.
They are so emotional to play. This games you don't have it on the other consoles.
You are very lucky if you are on cfw like me. The sound of trophies are so comfortable for earning them!
Really like also the blu-ray support for playing HD

My favorite console of all time is definitely the Nintendo 64. I'm not old enough to have experienced the consoles of previous generations, but the N64 seems to take the cake in this competition. It has the greatest variety of good games. From FPS like Conker's Bad Fur Day to Adventure/Action games like Super Smash Brothers, the N64 kept players entertained for hours upon hours. The controller has a very unique layout, but it was very comfortable nonetheless. Overall best game console ever created. Thank You Nintendo.

The SEGA DREAMCAST , all the best of the best fighting games were perfectly ported onto this console mvc1 & 2, Cap.Vs.SNK, SFIII 3rd Strike. This console was ahead of its time o and the homebrew ain't that bad either ....
05-20-2011
10:37 PM
Playstation 2 because of its ease of use, its power and its dvd player compatibility. It brought with it an awesome selection of games, and when homebrew came along it brought media playback usb support and emulators.
In my oppinion its the best console.
05-20-2011
11:02 PM
The original Playstation is king, in my opinion. and as to why well, The huge selection of games. From shooters, rpgs,to platforms. Another reason the controller was a great design, many blisters were caused due to fighting games, and of course built-in dual shock was awesome, analog sticks were in just the right spot. I love the feeling of a playstation controller in my hand

The reason I love my ps2 and that it is my favorite system is the fact of the massive game library and always having what i want to play. all the exclusives like god of war, gta, Socom, all the Resident Evil games like the Outbreak series that i still play til this day.. on lonely nights ps2 was my best friend.. i never had much since i had many mental illnesses and didnt get along with others.. but like isaid my ps2 was always there.. playing Metal Gear Solid and oh so much more. it was also on my ps2 that i played online for the first time.. cant ever foget the long nights playing socom and fifa or madden. My Favorite console is the ps3. Allthough it has its flaws and Sony is a ****** bag the ps3 is clearly the best game console.
1. Hombrew allows the ps3 to go beyond its full potential.
2. The graphics are amazing.
3. Blu-ray Drive is great.
4. Free PSN not gay XBL.
5. Its just an amazing console.

My favorite console ever has got to be the SNES. All of the really great games that are remade today come from this system. Simple controls and no need to worry about scratched discs!! Playing Killer Instinct, Mortal Kombat, Super Street Fighter II, Zelda Link to the Past and the greatest RPG ever, Super Mario RPG were some of the fondest moments in my life!
05-20-2011
11:55 PM
Easily my favorite of all time was the SNES. The first game I bought with it was Final Fantasy II/IV and I was immediately hooked. I remember many a night spent awake when my folks would go to bed when I should have been sleeping, lost in that video game and many many more over those years. To this day that system saw more play than ANY other console I have owned and I enjoyed almost every single one of those games. System ALWAYS worked, NEVER overheated and was virtually indestructible. Best games of all time,Best system of all time. To this day I still play every remake of the Final Fantasy games (all Square Enix games really) because they bring me back to my fond childhood.

My favorite console is the PSP. It was and is a one of a kind. For me, it unlocked the true nature of exploiting and hacking for me. It taught me the fundamentals of computers and how some electronics work. It was my most favorite console mainly because it was solely mine and not my brothers. lol

Sega Dreamcast. The PS3 of its time. The brute force in hardware and serious gamers. Also for the sympathy that Sega's legacy died with it.

My favourite games console is the PS3 Slim.

The launch 60GB PS3 is my favorite console. I would say, the original PS because of all the great content it had (FF7 & Xenogears is saying enough), but the launch PS3 can play those. With that you get 3 PS consoles which essentially allows you to play back around 20 years worth of PS content all crammed into one futuristic machine. Mine is also hooked up to an HD projector that shoots onto a 118" screen and hooked up to a surround sound system. You also get built in WIFI and bluetooth, 4 USB ports which I use sometimes to charge my iPhone 4
Probably a few more obvious things, but I thought I'd get into the juicy stuff.............................
The Hax
CFW
Homebrew
Game Backup
Unbrickable with modchip
Install OtherOS
QA Flagging! (somebody had to throw it in there)
Customizability
Future Development
And last but not least, the scene - for all it's good and evil
Congrats to whoever wins

Probably the second playstation and certainly for her fantastic games like Metal Gear Solid 3 and Shadow of the Colossus! That console got me excited and cry more than once and I can not help but pay homage! Thanks Playstation 2!

My favorite game console is "Nintendo NES" , because it's my first game console and for these games : Super Mario Bros , Goal 3 , Metal Gear Solid and of course Duck Hunt with that gun ... Rest in peace Nintendo NES

My Favorite console is the PSP
Not only did it have one of the most wide support of homebrew, it also was the first portable system to revolution the way we see handhelds consoles, with support for music, video, and wifi it was a great system and homebrew just expanded the limitions of the device. It was really one of my favorites, cause alot of the games felt just as good or as close to a home console. my favorite times were playing socom online almost anywhere with my friends.

I 'm not going to forget the first time I played it on my PS1! If it wouldn't be for it, Final Fantasy VII wouldn't exist... The dawn of a new era...

The best console of all times is the NES...Games back then were not about the flashy graphics, but story, gameplay and immersion. Modern consoles with their 20 buttons on each controller and HD graphics can never give you the feeling that "Legend of Zelda" or "Metal Gear Solid" gave you on the NES.

Once or twice a year we still take it out of the basement and play for an evening.

I loved the Nintendo 64 because it had a huge number of games that my brother, sister, parents and I all loved to play together. There were so many great four-player games like Gauntlet Legends, Conker's Bad Fur Day and "The New Tetris". There were also some good single player games, most of which are getting ported to the 3DS in June, though my favorite was Star Wars Rogue Squadron. Still, the best part of the N64 was definitely its multiplayer capabilities that kept my family playing it well into the PS2's generation.

Best console of all time is the first Xbox because there Bibb always enjoyed full games console him than another. Then I switched to the xbox360 and not so loved him so I Sonny 3 and I enjoy it than the 360.
I really enjoyed playing on until Sony blocked the option so I really need it
Thank you

02:29 AM
Well for me the best console is the one that introduced Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, and Metroid, the Nintendo Entertainment System or NES which I still have and enjoy playing.

My fav console is the PS3 Slim,it has ALL the good games, and some more :D you can watch movies, play songs,3D graphics(doesn't matter cause every new gaming console has em :D).My favorite games are Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Call of Duty: Black Ops.
05-21-2011
03:03 AM
My favorite is the PS3 because of mp3 player, movie player, free online gaming and HD graphics. I like being able to use whatever USB controller there is for fighting games. It really is hard to go back to the PS2 to finish the backlog of games when PS3 games look great on a HDTV. I would also say the PS2 is a favorite because of the good times it brought and it had a big fighting game library. It was also the first console that had Devil May Cry.

03:25 AM
As for now it has to be the N64. Cause I Like the old school controller. And Zelda ofcourse. But as soon as there'll be a N64 emulator for the PS3, it'll probraly be the PS3, for Linux, N64 (Obvious), and the SNES emu.
(I like old school games, if it wasn't obvious enough)

04:00 AM
Easy to use burned CD´s, perfect performance, homebrew, interactive memorycards ( but eats lot of energy), good lightguns (better than PSX).
05-21-2011
04:02 AM
My favorite system has to be the n64 things were much simpler before online play when just you and about 3 of your friends gather to play mario kart and also dont forget super mario 64 that was so awesome when it came out. The fact I think it was truly the only 3d system at the time made it exciting.
05-21-2011
04:29 AM
My favorite console is the N64, why you ask? because it wasn't scared to be different. It still used large chunky game cartridges of consoles past which provided us with a great instant gaming experience. The controller looked like it was ripped straight out of a Star Trek episode, but it was good to hold, all the buttons where in easy reach and it was so different than what Sony and Sega were offering at the time. It also had some great launch games such as Mario 64 & Pilot Wings.

So there you have it, that's my favorite console, just typing this makes me wanna play a bit of Perfect dark.
Bye for now

I think ps1 and 2 are equally my favourite consoles because they came up when I was a kid and I played lots of games with them from morning until night.
05-21-2011
05:02 AM
PSP
It was my first portable console and could run backups from the start.
I'm now on my 4th PSP (PSP GO) and still playing it just about everyday.
My first was a launch PSP phat 1000 model. I still got it, but now its white and my daughter owns it.

05:09 AM
The Master System. From a purely nostalgic perspective. It was the first console I ever owned (and it actually had a few good games). I can't even count how many times I 've finished Sonic the Hedgehog without dieing once...

05:10 AM
My favourite console is the PS3 Phat 60GB.

It can play all the classics that were on PS2 like Sly, Ratchet and Clank, and Jak and Daxter. It has PS Move that is so much better than the Wii. I can watch TV with PlayTV and use remote play wherever in the world with my PSP. It was also the first and only console that has full 1080p graphics plus 3D picture. The PS3 makes games like COD really good in HD. And PSN, that has free online gaming (besides the fact that it was hacked) is really good instead of XBOX Live.
05-21-2011
05:16 AM
My favourite games console is the playstation 2.
Why you ask? Superb games, superb exclusive games e.g GoW, Rahcet and Clank and best of all (not a exclusive game to ps2 though)... WWE 2009!
05-21-2011
05:22 AM
my favorite console was the ps2 every time i listen to that demo music on OPM cd demo disc it takes me back to the good old days of gaming my favorite games where tekken 4 tekken 5 gta sandreas shinobido endless fun...

05:58 AM
Ps3 , because the scene is getting better and better,we now have emulators, psx support, free online gaming, game backuping, blu ray.Ps3 is gonna last a few more years, supporting all the newest games, and thats why I like it

06:48 AM
in my opinion the best console i have ever had was the PS2. it was the first console i ever played. i had bought a game for the ps2 before i even had the console.
There was so many games to choose from. the controllers were a good feel when i held them.
Overall, i just enjoyed playing it. some friends had a ps2 as well so it was good that we could trade games,
GAMES WERE CHEAP! (under £30 when they were new and £2 second hand)
this is why my favourite console is the: PS2
05-21-2011
07:16 AM
My favourite console is the SNES because if it was broken you only had to blow into it to fix.
05-21-2011
07:53 AM
For me? Definitely the Wii.
I still think the wiimote is gimmicky but nothing beats a Wii, a big hard drive and wiiflow!

08:18 AM
My favourite console of all time is the original Playstation damn how fun it was with insomniac publishing spyro and having games that will never be released to next generation consoles such as Tomba and Tomba 2 damn i still urge to play these games this day sometimes i just abandon my ps3 for my original grey PS!!!

08:22 AM
My favorite console is easily the PSP. Although I have owned every system since the SNES, the PSP was the first system I hacked. I loved the fact that I could replay every game I ever played on NES, SNES, GBA, PSX, and even some N64 games. I always carry several memory cards allowing me to listen to music, watch xvid avi's, and play a lot of games with a decent battery life. If it weren't for the psp I would never have been able to replay so many new and old classics at work and on the go. Something no system had been able to offer me before. I can't wait for the NGP!

My vote goes to the 3DO, one of the early adopters of CD technology and was a hell of a lot of fun with friends controllers hooked up in a "daisy chain". Trying not to trip over each other after a few too many brews, good times.
Some amazing games nights were had with games like FIFA, Road Rash, Return Fire and Need for Speed. Being taunted by a FMV for racing poorly in NFS, hearing the crowd shouting for your team in FIFA were all new and exciting, as were the (at the time) amazing 3D visuals after quite a few years of SNES/Amiga.
The other reason I bring up this particular console is the fact that it allowed for any manufacturer to step in and join the console marketplace. Panasonic, Goldstar and Sanyo (amongst others) all made 3DO consoles. I had the Panasonic model, and if I had not sold it, I bet the CD drive would still work today. These were the days when stuff was still made in Japan.
EDIT: Forgot to mention the best damn music visualization in existence.
Then Sony came along and released the Playstation, and this is not the right place for "that" rant. Also, I'm basically disqualified already, I have only one PS3 and I'm not updating to an OFW any time soon. But thanks for reading.

The Playstation 2 is probably my favorite videogame console of all time, not only did it let you play all your classic PSone games (RPGs for me) but it also introduced the DVD format, which meant a 4gbs of game data storage and better graphics. not to mention the ability to play DVD movies. The PS2 had the best overall library of games too in my opinion, from metal gear solid 3 to persona 4, the system ran strong over 10 years.

Whn it comes to gaming consoles there is just one that stands out above all the rest and that of course is... the Sega Dreamcast! Why? I may hear your cry well I have 2 words for you Shenmue & Shenmue 2 (ok technically its 2 words and a number) but these games were absolutely awesome and still to this day are in my top 5 games of all time!
.. instead of a PSN card if I win, could you get me a replacement system?!
Also from what I remember the Dreamcast Memory Card was also awesome as you could disconnect it and play a game on it (it has a D-PAD plus a A/B button) no other console I can remember ever had something like this.
So in short Dreamcast all the way for the following:
1. Sexy Design
2. EPIC Memory Card Module with portable Gaming
3. Immense Graphics (at the time)
4. Klassic games such as Crazy Taxi, Shemue, Shemue II, Jet Grind Radio & Headhunter!
I really miss my old console

The original Playstation is my favorite. The controller felt innovative when it first hit the scene. Once the controller upgraded to analog I was blown away! The games were epic (and still are) and got you to invest in them emotionally (I recall many mornings having my mom pop her head into my room in the morning before school, and sure enough, I was still playing Final Fantasy 7 from the night before). I'll list a few of the greats: Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 9; Metal Gear Solid; Resident Evil; Tomb Raider, Silent Hill; Crash Bandicoot; and even Brave Fencer Musashi. All of them masterpieces. Hands down!
After playing each of those you wanted sequels to be released, and when they were, we ate 'em up, too. I haven't been able to part with my PSX console. It sits right next to my ps3 and holds its own!!! The best console game-wise to date.

My favourite console is the ps3.
It is the most powerful machine technicaly, and has a lot of awesome titles like MGS4, Uncharted, LBP, Resistance,...
I like the XMB and the controller, which fits the best in my hands...
And,n of course, we have free PSN (When it's not down xD)

My favorite is Sega Genesis. It was my first console that I and my friends would spent hours playing against each other. It helped me pass through difficult time in my life.

My favorite games console is the Playstation One console because it got me hooked in the Metal Gear Solid series even though I was playing mgs1 in black n white back then. It's the first console I played on that the controller was great, though I did play on the sega prior to this. And it made me buy the next consoles that sony made, ps2, ps3

PS1!
It was a major step up from 2d games into 3d games. Was completely blown away by the graphics of Toshinden and Wipeout on the original ps1 demo disc, which was shown off at the local Toys R Us. This meant I just had to have it. Also didn't hurt having the hot new arcade game, Tekken, at home at your fingertips, while your friends were jealous.
However I really have to say mostly because of Wipeout. Best racing franchise of all time in my opinion, and I have played them all. Great soundtracks as well!

If i really had to choose... I guess I would pick the SNES. Simply because it was the greatest system that I can remember playing. I had em all when I was a kid, NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, dreamcast, saturn, psone, n64 and more... buut none are quite as memorable. Even While im in the navy living in military barracks, The SNES is still displayed on my television more often than anything else. Whether it was playing tetris attacks against my family, or playing my favorite game series ever, Mega Man (in this case MMX). there were so many games for this great classic and they lasted for so long. I do like newer consoles like ps3, but the games are just too short even if they are in HD. You could spend days on a game back then and still be enjoying it. Well thats my opinion, hopefully ill get a card so I can buy megaman 9 and 10 :D

My favorite console was the Nintendo 64
it was my first console and i spend my childhood playing on it . its games were very funny like my bests Super Mario 64, Mario Kart and Pokemon Stadium wich was in German language
then i played too much Golden eye 007 and Mission impossible
it was a good time never mind of the graphism or the lenght of the game we just played more and more ...

My favorite console is PSX/PS1. And this a really hard choice to make as I was born in the Atari 2600 generation. Why PSX/PS1 is because this was the generation and console the defined the greatest RPG line up of all time; from FF VII-IX, FFT, Lunar SSSC, Lunar EB, the rest of Working Designs library, to even Enix having a few greats (Star Ocean ST, Valkyrie Profile, etc). This was the console you owned if you were seriously hot into RPGs and collectors items. This was the era and reason I was a dedicated Sony fan and went on to support PS2; a time when Sony believed that customers were valued and not more than a figure.

I know I'm going to get scoffed at for this one, but my favorite console has to be the Gamecube. It was the first console I ever experienced with built-in 4 player support. It was also the carrier of my first major mmorpg addiction: Phantasy Star Online Episode 1&2. It also gets points for being used as a murder weapon on an episode of CSI, just saying...
05-21-2011
02:26 PM
My favorite console was easily the PlayStation 2. It featured dozens of the RPG's, Platformers and other assorted genres that I to this day still play such as .Hack\\Infection, Dark Cloud, Shadow of the Colossus, Sly Cooper, FFX, and Jak and Daxter. The graphics weren't terrible and are still easy on the eyes to go back and play even with the current Generation of consoles. It began most of the series we love to this day.
Since my PlayStation 3 is not backwards compatible, I still find myself going back to my PlayStation 2 quite often!

The Nintendo with Tecmo Bowl it was only the holy grail of gaming when i was a child. I remember crying for this game when i was 6. now im 29 making 30 and i still light up behind TSB or Super Mario. Dont know if i would still cry for 1 tho lol
05-21-2011
02:50 PM
ahh considering graphics has no play in this, i would have to choose the wii. We can play with hombrew and not get a console ban plus play online with the hombrew machine( actual games you own off course) you also get a workout with is if you play the right games. And man how i love nintendo they outright just dont care that the wii is exploited as long as sales go up which it does for these reasons. So yeah in all favor the "WII" pwns

I'd have to go with the N64, my favourite console. Awesome games and a revolutionary system of its time. Who doesn't want to play Orcarina of Time and Super Mario 64?
05-21-2011
03:30 PM
my favorite console has to be the nintendo 64. Why? well plain and simple it had one o the original super mario's on it remeber that? yep all those days and partial nights as a kid trying to beat the "legendary" browser until u heard your parents yelling at you to go to bed =).

My favorite console or rather handheld device would be the psp. Once hacked this device had the ability to do so many things. I could watch movies, listen to music and play games on it all for free. This handheld also has some of my favorite games on it like FF7 crisis core and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep.
05-21-2011
03:49 PM
My favorite console of all time has to be the: SEGA DREAMCAST
it was way ahead of its time i rember playing for the first time nba 2k1 online it was revolutionary. plus it had many legendary games like sonic adventure, jet grind radio, and MVC
05-21-2011
03:52 PM
the best game system is the dreamcast because when it came out it was ahead of its time the graphics was the best and it had a cool memory card.

I would have to choose the Wii. Not only is the controller fun and easy to use but it also introduced an easy way to game for senior citizens and other casual players. The virtual console is a really great way to play many games from the older systems on a single console.
05-21-2011
04:31 PM
My choice has to be the PS2 as i have some good memories with that console, in particular GTA San Andreas. That game alone makes it one of THE best consoles!

I Loved the PS2 because of the Games, cheap DVDs (compared to the PS3), and it didnt have wifi card or PSN but some games via ethernet were wonderful. Also because of the Final Fantasy games!!

I liked the original xbox. It was my first adventure into hacking as a young kid and i havent looked back since.

I never could have imagined the amount of hours I would sink into the N64 when I first saw it in that Costco. I had never heard of it before in my life and to that point all I new was SNES. That first night I blew through Rouge Squadron with my Dad. I was seduced by the N64, the system that truly popped my gamer cherry, and there were two games that defined it for me.
I must have played Facility on Goldeneye 64 at the very least 100 times. It wasnt long before I knew every single level like the back of my hand and I never tired of tearing up the streets of Moscow and dodging RPG's in a tank. The finale with Trevelyan was a show stopper. Then of course there was the endless multiplayer. It was a good time to be a 9 y.o. Bond fan, at least until Die Another Day. To this day I can still remember every level from Goldeneye 64, they are seared in my childhood.
And then there was Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The first RPG I could actually immerse myself in. Nothing compared at the time to exploring the vast fields riding on the back Epona, or crawling through the Water temple for hours. I can still remember how powerful that image of the once majestic Hyrule Castle, floating in an abyss of Gannondorf's evil was. Whom as a 9 year old was as detestable a sight as he glared at me with his red eyes, as he was frightening.
I could go on and on about all the wonderful adventures I experienced in that shapely black machine. In a time of such youthful wonder and absolute immersion that I will likely never experience again. In the days where a new game cartridge was about as rare for me as losing a tooth. I think I had about 6 games total, although I played hundred of rentals and shared many great memories with my first childhood friends.
The N64 is not my favorite console because of its bizarre controller, the 3D polygons, or even because it was the host of so many classic games. The N64 is special to me because it was part of that magical time period of my childhood where video games were still akin to magic.

This is very simple. Anyone who says other or disagrees is crazy. The PS3 is by far the most exceptional one; I can play my old games on it, I can watch any movie ever , I can browse the web, I can hack it, I can emulate, I can linux, i can linux to emulate windows, i can emulate on linux, i can steal games, ha. i can pictures, music, stream from computer, stream pc games to it(streammygame.com), This is some not all. I'm not getting into graphics, gameplay, smoothness. better technology always wins. has to be my favorite.

My favorite console is my PS3. I can play most of the multimedia I have on my PC on the PS3, I run emulators, I like that I can still play my MK4 disc after all these years on my PS3, and I love it even more after I bought the new Mortal Kombat.

Mine would have to be the PSX. It was one of the first consoles to use CD's and could hold a lot more data than cartridges. Games looked better and would last longer. And of course it had FFVII.

Gameboy Advanced SP, it was the first ever console ive owned in korea, and whenever i play, reminds me of how i used to play pokemon with friends that i havent seen in ages :S

I will say PSX. When i was a little boy i went to a carnival and there was this cool looking arcade called Tekken. I put my little money there and was sold forever, from that day I couldn't play my NES anymore for a long time. Then I got this gaming magazine, Super Power, which had a review of tekken for a new console, PSX. Luckily i had birthday coming and i somehow got this wondermachine and few great games. Ridge racer, Wipeout, Tekken and Battle Arena Toshinden. From that day i became a playstation fanboy =) Can't never forget moments like getting a demo disk from a magazine which contained first footage from MGS, which littlebit misled me cause Snake planted hundreds of C4 and blew them as a streak ok explosions in that vid :P And the moment i actually played MGS for first time... Crash Bandicoots, Final Fantasy series, Castlevania SOTN, MicroMachines... I could make a loooong list but i think many of you know what that would include! That's it in a nutshell.

Ahh memories... My favorite game console is the Dreamcast (Japanese manufactured because the Chinese factory ones had problems). After waiting years for a full 3D Sonic video game SEGA delivered and brought along cool titles like PowerStone and Crazy Taxi. It has a tough construction and it was fun trying out the internet capabilities via a 56k connection such as getting special downloads for games and loading stuff onto the VMU memory units. The Dreamcast really paved the way for how we play games today with our DLC and on-line gaming. Even after the console was officially discontinued by SEGA people worked hard on bringing homebrew, DIVX and more. And even now, some little game developers still make marketable games for the Dreamcast like Redspotgames. 12 years later I still have my original Dreamcast and all she ever needs is a little laser power adjustment every once in a while and she's good to go

My favorite system is genesis (mega drive) .
Games? Classic games like:
Altered beast, golden axe, afterburner, outrun, streets of rage...
Great games, great part of my past

Mine's got to be the PS2
In my oppinion, it was the first console that allowed developers to do anything that they wanted to do. Granted that there where limitations as with any console, but it allowed for anything the imagination could think of if the development team wad compitent enough. Along with a good lifespan, this resulted in a very great and large library. P

Sega Megadrive/Genesis of course, played my dad's at an early age, it's what got me into gaming. It's simple, great games (Sonic, Road Rash, Desert/Jungle strike) with great old school music, and I enjoy the simple controller design. I enjoy reminiscing about those times. ^^

The Playstation (PSX) because there were a wide variety of games and the dual shock controller was the best controller at that time.

My favorite system of all time would have to be the Sega Genesis. It was the first system I purchased for myself using money earned from a paper route. I never got sick of playing it. Mortal Kombat 1 with actual blood, unlike the SNES. Sonics 1,2, and 3. Not to mention the 6 button controller that made Street Fighter 2 Championship Edition much easier to play. Just all great memories all around.

My favorite game console of all time would honestly have to be my 60 GB Backwards Compatible PS3! Not only is it a game console, but it is also one of the best Blu-Ray players on the market. On top of that, it plays older generation PS2 games as well as PS1. Currently my PS3 has Rebug 3.55.1 installed on it, and I love the fact that I can also play a massive array of even older games from my childhood (Super Nintendo, to be more precise). Since it was hacked, I have used it much more than before (except for when Modern Warfare 2 came out!) and new things are frequently coming out for it *patiently waits for an N64 emulator to come out of the dark*

PS3: It Only Does Everything.

My favorite system is the PC, i find that the PC is the best system because one you could make it completely by yourself and make it how ever you want. It has unlimited uses, you could easily make your own games and also easily hack it. I dont want to be like everyone else naming a sony product or a "Gaming system" because the pc is more then just a gaming system it's what ever you want it to be and thats why i like the pc. When you buy a "Gaming System" thats just it, you can't do anything to it performance. The games are also cheaper when you use services such as "steam". When with the pc your could buy one take it apart and make it how ever you please. Thats why I think the PC is the ultimate system. In addiction the online is almost always Free!!!

Pc is not a console :S it states clearly in the rules you have to choose a console, a pc is not a console.

To this day, it is still the Nintendo 64. All the games were fun, upbeat and colorful, I still remember smiling so hard when putting in Super Mario 64 in for the first time and seeing Mario's big freakin' head. You can still catch me reminiscing with the N64 emulator that can be found on google.

My favorite game console was the original Nintendo Entertainment System. Everybody had an NES and it seemed as if the games were always a challenge. I love the hacking scene because I can emulate my favorite systems of yesteryear and I always seem to go back to the classic NES. Good solid controls with a solid line up of quality games made the NES the best!

When the PlayStation 3 was launched it set an example to the entertainment industry and made leap forward to the future of High Definition entertainment. That’s how it became my best console. The releases of the Best exclusives games like Metal Gear Solid and Heavy rain that would just make anyone indulge in them by the depth, graphics and the quality and overall experience. The easy to use interface, a compatible controller that would adjust to any palm without causing any aches during long gameplays. That’s what anyone would look for. Other than that made it this turned into an ultimate console as well as an entertainment system for me. The ability to play various media files, pictures, movies in Blu-ray and songs. I never had the urge to use my computer to watch movies or to share pictures with my family or blast music out on the 7.1 digital surround sound capabilities cause it just had too much to offer.

My favourite games console is the Playstation 3. First of all because since the begining I like Playsation (especially the PS2). But now the PS3 have more quality than the ps2 (HD) and I can play in 3D (it' s amazing, look like so real). And in ps3 I can play online and download psn games from the PSN (there is only one problem the lack of security) for free. Finnaly ps3 rocks because of the homebrews and the most important thing is their exclusive: Infamous (I realy loved, I'm waiting for Infamous 2) Killzone (essencialy 3) and Sly Copper for my Brother.
With this PS3 ROCKS!

Definitely the Nintendo 64! (I still have one laying around)
I have fond memories of nights playing Golden Eye until the sun came up and never getting tired of playing. I still wait for a game that can hold my attention for that long. Also, the funky controller actually seemed useful and didn't take much effort to learn to use. Finally, any console that allows you to add memory to make it run faster is just plain awesome!

Dreamcast always holds dear to my heart.
The first major console to have online gaming and web support (although web support was is no better than webtv) and also had keyboard and mouse support (on some games).
Almost every game had smooth graphics, even though some may had low texture but it wasn't a eye soar to the eyes like the PS2.
If it weren't for SEGA revolutionizing the gaming world then we wouldn't have the features that we have now... or as polished.
The VMU when utilized right was actually pretty good, too bad not many games really used it.

My favorite game console is the Playstation 3, because I love the graphics and design. It doubles as a blu-ray player, and can store more on its disc than any other game console. The dualshock 3 is THE perfect controller for shooters in my opinion. since the analog sticks are perfectly spaced apart. And the online is free! You can't get much better than that.

My favorite game console is easily the Playstation 3. For one, it is the only real game station i have. The wii and gamecube are no match for the PS3. The PS3 has better graphics, it actually has nazi zombies, unlike the wii, and it is just much more fun and entertaining to play. I also very much enjoy the trophy program and the Playstation store. It is overall the best console out there. I have play xbox as well and i can not even explain how much better the Playstation 3 is.

My favorite game console is my first true love I've had: the Playstation 2. It's my favorite because it was my very first console and also the one I craved for the most at the time (because of FF10 and because I was a PC gamer before that). It had a certain "je ne sais quoi", a certain magic to it, it literally felt like I had a magic box in front of me capable of doing anything and everything spectacular (and you never knew what might pop out next), most certainly because of the smooth experience, the controller and the graphics that never seized to amaze me, something I never had on the PC before. It literally felt like a mysterious enchanted magic box.
Besides the nostalgia factor, I also love it the most out of all consoles because it had the best game library of any console in existence, old and new, IMO (the PS2 was kinda like the tip of a parabola, the middle ground between good graphics and good gameplay and story), and very easy to mod and mess around with.
Because of this, I tip my hat for the PS2. I don't think there's gonna be another console so successful and magical as it was for quite a while now.

My favorite game console has to be the Nintendo-64. Though it didn't have online I can always remember the epic battles on all the first-party multiplayer games it had including GoldenEye, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, and Perfect Dark. It had some great 1 player games, and FPS were meant for its awkward controller. Though the graphics weren't the greatest, its gameplay was always fun.

My favorite console was the Super Nintendo because of the shear awesomeness of Mario Kart and because blowing into the bottom of your games made them magically work.
