    Rogero, the developer of Rogero Manager has updated his application PS3 Buttons Layout Changer to version v1.1.

    This is a small application for the PlayStation(R)3 that can change the default Buttons Layout (Cross or Circle being the default Enter/Accept Button).
    It is useful for the JPN PS3 model owners to make “X”/Cross the Default [Enter/Accept] Button like the USA/EUR PS3 Models.

    - It is compatible with PS3 FW Version 3.41 & 3.55 only.
    - It checks for the PS3 FW version automatically and can detect it even if a spoof was applied.
    - Many errors checking routines are applied before changing any parameters.

    I wrote it for my personal use, I do have a JPN PS3, and I thought of sharing it because it may help other users too who wants to change their JPN PS3 Buttons Layout in a simple/quick way.

      Fail number two.

      First version just didn't like my Firmware (Kmeaow 3.55), this version claims to run, claims to work but doesn't change the button mapping.
      It asks me to "restart" my PS3, which I did, I turned off, pulled the power lead. When I turned it on nothing had changed.

      Its a Japanese Launch 60gb phat with Kmeaow 3.55 CFW.

      I have the Metal gear solid limited edition 40GB and this doesn't work even the first versions didn't work at all... anyone have the same problem?

      I have tested this utility on the 3 machines I own, but there seems to be a difference in the registry file structure for some few PS3's out there (the ones that didn't have the layout swapped)
      if possible i'll need a copy of the file : "/dev_flash2/etc/xRegistry.sys"
      from your PS3 to check it.
      You can FTP to your PS3 and copy the file, then send it to me (rbaroudy@hotmail.com) but please make sure to mention your CFW type/version.

      I can check the different files and make the necessary fixes to the application to be compatible with more PS3 Models.

      What is the section of the xregistry called? Can you give me the keys you are looking for and I will have a look, Don't want to send the whole file for above reason!

      *does not work on my NTSC 60GB model with Codename Rebug 3.55 all i get is a black screen then the system reboots*

      *Update* i edited my xRegistry.sys myself and got the button swap on my own so i am happy now

      It's fine im not on PSN anyway..

      and i do know that it captured the email login etc etc..

      i tried looking for the button swap on the registry . it does work on Rebug CFW but i prefer using the Kmeaw 3.55

      @rogero

      thanks for accommodating my inquiry i already found the button setting on the Xregistry i already changed the value and now it's working.. still very nice program

      this is useless. i edited my ps3 to swap the buttons because i prefer x bing no and o being ok... but yeah it was super easy to edit.

      Thanks so much. This worked perfectly. Very useful in some games such as red dead redemption.
