      This is useful when you have so many USB devices and not enought USB ports to stick them.

      The PS3 lacks of their original number of USB ports, I think it had about 6 at the time (not counting the memory cards readers).

      As stated it adds more usb ports. The previous mod as the guy said only allowed the use of either the front or back usb port, not both at the same time, this lets you use them at the same time.

      Also some ppl prefer to have ports at the back of their devices so it's easier to hide to wires. I have to agree that having wires on the front make it look messy.

      Rather just use a USB splitter, I do think it's a cool mod, but I don't see much point to it other than aesthetics.
