also i will say even if they find anything, it doesn't mean that users that are on 3.60 or 3.65 can use it, it depends on the exploit, it might be an exploit that only us 3.55 users might be able to use it, and then update.

I think (for sure) Sony won't ship the 3000 series with 3.56 firmware

The 3.55 -> 3.56 update was a little step for the FW security making it possible to hack. the 3.56 -> 3.60 update was a big step in security, making it very difficult to hack.
That is why they only mention 3.56 and not higher

I seem to remember someone in the know saying it would be V hard to convince the PS3 to accept that it had 2 different OS's without resorting to flashing the hardware every time you wanted to swap, but I could be wrong

As far as I know 3.56 brought a new self with unknown key. With 3.60 the keys are in lv0.2.

It's pretty simple, just dont let them use it :D
Dont let them take it online and disable the bluray drive. This way they cannot accidentally update it going online or by inserting a new game.

Or you could buy a 2nd ps3, this way have one for official use and one for cfw. I dont see how so many people think they can always have both forever. I knew sony would block any hacks so I have 2 consoles.
If you cannot live without going online then forget about cfw and stay on ofw. If you dont care about online, then install cfw and make sure your kids know not to update no matter what; and if they do then you can ban them from using it as punishment.

Showtime and MultiMAN (w/o the back up capability, even though that is awesome!) is so well worth telling $ony to shove their PSN. C'mon, if you wanna play multi-player, x-link kai or XBSlink is always a great alternative, even if cheaters run rampant. Great work ladies and gentlemen.

And to honest i will not buy another PS3 and support Sony. i been stuck on 3.56 for a hot min. but i borrowed my friend ps3 and jailbroke it and kept it lol. i told him it was shot. it was funny. he loves online. i can careless for it.

Hell no its not, how dare you besmirch my site in such away.

The site is a Rick Roll site, i created it, so i can guarantee that it has zero viruses, it has about two files one is a video and one is the script to make it work, what it does is pop up a Rick Astley video and when you try and close it, it pops up a message saying HaHaHaHa, nothing bad or illegal in it.

so my PS3 came on the 3.55 and I accidentally upgraded it to the 3.56. If I format the system? What happens? does it go back to the old 3.55 it was?? and how long are we gonna wait for the hack on the 3.56?????

you accidentaly updated? impossible!

you are stuck there now until anything is found/released.

no ETA, no promises. just be patient and wait. formatting will achieve nothing

Formatting the system will only erase the HDD.

You are out of luck and will have to wait patiently for a downgrade. It is recommended by Gitbrew to remain on 3.56 if possible do not update to 3.6X.

The most important part of the FW is not on your hard disk but in flash. Formating doesn't change the flash part and stays on 3.56 ....
