• PS3 Debug Firmware 3.66 Leaked

    PS3 Hacks , 07.07.2011

    The latest Debug Firmware 3.66 has been leaked by Consoledev. No, this does not mean CFW, but this hopefully can be useful to devs in establishing the future of CFW. This firmware is only for developers, researchers and this will only work on TEST units.

    Our friend and fellow Consoledev give us a little something back to the community DHorg, on this occasion published the 366, PS3 debug firmware.Not like others who keep them and make them public

    For users of the street as I do not get much use, but for devs and other researchers that is more space to learn about new protections OFWs 366

    The download of you have in the web chat or in the firmware thread debugs

      Unless you know what you are doing with the code of the PS3 and have a Test unti it does nothing, but it Does allow the ones who do to delve a bit deeper so it's another step forward to unlocking the PS3 and not just find exploits

      It's the *naked* version of the OFW 3.66, It's used for the devs, So in short terms (and not being too technical ones) They can see what type of security measures among other interesting things have 3.66.

      A naked version = I don't have to explain this :P

      Shoot! I know it's not cfw, but if we're that much closer, it's SOL for me because I already upgraded..... Unless the same method can be used to create downgrade.... One can only hope

      Just a thought, people want cfw 3.66 and if made would be kinda great if you can remove all the cinevia crap they put in. I'd rather stay on 3.55 and spoof 3.66 so that I can still watch all my movies.

      Any thoughts?

      The newest version of rebug 3.55.2 removes cineva protection
      qa flagged rebug should also be able to turn off HDCP protection

      I'm sure there are ways to turn it off. But if you download showtime you should have zero problems with cinevia

      It is a method for preventing people from recording game videos to their computer from the PS3 at full quality and for forcing the original HD-TV buyers to buy new TVs in order to watch HD-TV...that is all it actually does these days; it is easily broken or bypassed for everything else.

      It prevents the user from accidently updating to 3.66 OFW.
      Many confuse it for a PSN bypass, which it isn't.

      well there is one more useful feature if you were to say have 2 ps3 consoles one on current ofw and one on a cfw it would allow you to data transfer between the 2 without any problems..normally if you wanted to do a transfer from for example a ofw 3.66 to a 3.55 you would set up the transfer try it and then get the message for you to update the other console to match 3.66, this is where the spoofer comes in handy for some more trivial things mainly to do with playstation home and comment and game title editing ..of course it works the other way round wheather you have a spoof or not

      Now, That of DeBug FW 366 good news for the devs/hackers, who i hope get the edge on that DB 366 been leaked. Now for those who hope the devs/hackers find anything out = security/exploit wise, etc . They might be able find a way to exploit now, a little easier than inspecting the OFW 366.. I just hope the smart gents/gals figure out a way for an updated FW. Or at least, so we can have a 360 eboot fix built in a CFW one day.. I am just tired of seeing all the new posts about ( CFW360+) all over the forms, it is a mess I am not one to ever complain. I understand the need/want, to all who are on 356+... This & other related , really should be kept LoWKeY, since most are aware of this disrespectful company = sony can be !

      We don't want to bring too much attention to hook & reel NARKs into these forums ,even worse i fear . The more advertising + talking about new 360x might/will lead to Sony, poking around with fake users = related to Sony = Narks ! Which i believe, they have been on here already + others related sites .This could be why some users had regged with hax related forums, asked abnormal questions reguardind downloading/piracy, then never came back. Reason = mabey the got flamed/corrected with, we dont condone/encourage piracy here = they were looking for some answer to suport there question to get evidence to us & against hack sites ! Or have less activities or no posts at all , looks quite Suspicious ? I just hope that in the end, every dev/person/hacker related to projects with the ps3, are safe/avoid learn from what has happened to the ones, sony has pulled into court & violated rights, with harsh punishment + abusing the court system.
