• LSPWN v0.1 – SPE Local Storage Dumper Released

    PS3 hacker adrianc, has released his LSPWN tool, a basic noob-friendly tool that allow you to dump the local storage of the SPE. This tool is mainly for devs, but is another step towards fully understanding the PS3.

    overview:
    this app dumps the local store of an spe to /dev_hdd0/game/LSPWN0ADC/USRDIR/localstore.bin

    a neat POC for devs, but also a n00b friendly introduction to the spe environment.

    instructions:

    1. run the app
    2. copy the binary from the hdd using your preferred method
    3. disasemble using ida and get a hands on look at the local store
    4. ???
    5. profit!

    notes:
    - source code forthcoming after some cleanup
    - gui in v0.2 release
    - support for isolation mode if there is demand

      This looks interesting...
      but is not for me I updated to 3.70 ofw like 2 or 3 days ago after doing some reading of a guy speaking the ((truth)).
      I'll go back to cfw the day i can do things on my ps3 i can't on my PC, for now ill enjoy my DLCs. =)

      Ya i tried it n Dirt 3 n Portal 2 are also working with the original discs

      I can only wonder if this enables anyone to dump the LS while in SPU_ISO mode. Does anyone know? Cause dumping metldr and some loaders would be always welcome XD
