That's a great feature, let's hope it stops the noobs from posting "I accidentally/My kid updated my cfw to ofw" threads. Now they have no excuse apart from their own incompetence if they upgrade.

That feature does not prevent that people update (accidentally) to OFW. For that use the Rebug's 3.70 Version Spoofer.

The new feature prevents people downloading game updates that could prevent the games to work if those game updates/patches (for 3.56+) are installed. It also saves bandwidth :D

The new game update is amazing. Thank you for this. It's such a relief knowing my games could never be updated past their current firmware.

multiMAN will not download updates for higher than you current firmware.

It has nothing to do with starting a game. which asks you to update.

I got a semi older version of Multiman it is well older thats for sure. It's one that was before Multiman got a XMB. Meaning it's pretty out dated. If I updated is the games folder in the same place??? It doesn't move it does it? I won't have any issues with games or anything? And apparently it also has emulators in it? lol...So does everyone prefir to have Multiman as their main base of operation when it comes to emulators or are people using separate emulators still? lol Just wanted to check to make sure. Like kind of see how everyone is doing when it comes to what they got installed and what they don't. I haven't really used my emulators as of late so basically they are collecting dust. And I don't have any issues at all right now with Multiman I'm using so...does it really make a difference if I update or not? lol All I can see that's cool is they certainly made it flashier...with side colors and now wallpaper which I find to be really awesome because I love having wallpapers of my own. And it would make me feel like its more in my control with my special wallpaper I pick. So that's basically the cool thing I'd like to have. And the idea of having emulators inside one big application like this. Is it worth updating if I don't have any issues right now? lol Also with Multiman does it create it's own rom folder for the emulators or what? lol...Or does it still read off a usb?

      @Rax909: "if ain't broke don't fix it".

The new multiMAN 02.05.00 has lots of improvements and it is highly recommended to update. However, if you are happy with your current version and you don't have any issue with it, my suggestion is that delay the update until you really need some of the newer features (like emulators, XMMB, browse devices, split games, improved direct boot, random music, etc.). There is always a chance to break something that is working fine.

Regaring to your other questions: yes, it still reads from the USB. You have to create the ROMS folders and place there the roms yourself.

Alright thanks. Appreciate the response. And the whole direct boot thing always had an issue with. I've tried that with my games so many times. Always ending up with a blackscreen or booting me back to the xmb. So ya that's not gonna help either. So ya your right. It's basically pointless to get.

If you are the only one eperiencing this problem, then i would assume the problem lies with you, i would suggest completely removing multiMAN and reinstalling it.

When I download the updates from multiman for my games I see that they go into my install packages folder on my ps3. Do I have to install them from that folder? Or are the updates already installed and I can delete those files from the folder?

no you need to install them. be careful what game updates you install because some updates to newer games will make it unplayable.

even if they're for the 3.55 fw and below they still might make them unplayable?

      Just a quick thing.
Dunno if anyone else has noticed this but, in the VIDEO menu, the "PS3 Internal HDD" and "USB Device" icons/links are showing in alphabetical order, not at the top, where as, in the MUSIC or PHOTO section, they stay at the top.
Not a major bug, but wanted to report it anyway, lol.

Also, have u thought about my idea of moving the "QUIT" button to the top of the multiMAN section, and the "UPDATE" button to the top of hte Settings section, to mimic the genuine XMB icons?

All this said, multiMAN is still, i feel, one of the best homebrew app's for the PS3 to date, it literally does EVERYTHING!! (Except make me coffee as i play, but i expect that will be in a update soon lol)

The problem with sorting the USB/PS3HDD icons is fixed. You can download the fixed update using DEBUG mode in multiMAN (hold L2+R2 while launching multiMAN) and then use the UPDATE function.

hey Deank thanks for your awesome MultiManager.

I have a question. I installed a game to my internal HDD (Dynasty Warriors 7, 20GBs), however when I deleted it, the space didnt return to my HDD. This has happened a couple of times already, and my internal isnt too big so space is becomnig an issue. Is there something I could do to retrieve the missing space? Ive looked in the dev_hdd0/GAMES folder and its empty. Also tried the "rebuild database" and "restore file system" from the PS3īs recovery menu and the issue is still there.

      Thanks for your support!

Actually it is only me who develops/codes multiMAN - there is no team or something.

It evolved because of the constant flow of ideas coming from the users and forums (and a lot of time on my side).

      I'm glad you like it!

      thanks for your response dean.

oh btw tried to write you back regarding forgotten sands but ur inbox is full. I got the game to work but not 100%. It is something I cant explain but regardless of the firmware i install, i tried with 3.55OFW, 3.55kmeaw, and 3.55.2 rebug, it takes the game about 5 minutes to load. So when it is sitting at black screen and frozen it is actually still loading. I noticed because i would hold the ps button down hoping to get some kind of response and eventually the controller will just power off. Then when i press ps button again the controller turns on and registers itself as controller 1. This let me know the ps3 was still thinking so i just let it sit for what felt like forever and eventually it started. The only problem is the ps3 crashes if i try to exit to the xmb, whether im powering off the system, saying yes to the game update, or exiting via psbutton. No matter what system will beep 3 times and crash when exiting this game.

So the game works but regardless of how many times i format or reinstall firmware via recovery the game does not load properly. It does the exact same thing on 3.55OFW and playing from disc.

I put the game in my 3.70 slim ps3 and it runs perfect. Dont know how to explain but i thought u might find my story interesting.
