I don't understand what is so great about finding 3.60 keys at this time.
To hack you 3.56+ console? ( Answer: Downgrade)
To be able to play the SMALL Amount of games that have 3.60 (which half and most of the good ones have patches)
So the Keys we need why... They will be needed but not at this time.. When more games and the Holiday releases come out then i will be on the look out for an exploit.. Until then there's no need for it...
3.60+ games need more of them and betters one, and i promise someone will have an exploit.. At this time it is not needed.. So either go buy downgrade device or wait and play your portal 2 game later..

Sry guys but you are mixing a lot of stuff her.
For starters : A SDK don't help you to play any games.
These are just the tools to create working Homebrew for 3.60+ Ps3 units.
But - we still don't have the 3.60 or 3.70 keys signing keys, so there is no way to sign anything for 3.60+.
And even with this SDK we still don't have any dectyption keys for 3.60+ games, so we can't decrypt these games and play them on 3.55.
These new keys are the 3.55 NPDRM keys, meaning: you can now dectypt any update (till fw 3.55) and psn content to pirate psn stuff and resign updates for 3.41.
If this PUP is working, it is the only direct benefit for endusers - you can downgrade now any ps3 (except the ons with the new metdlr i guess) to 3.55
So to make long things short:
NOT A SINGLE NON-WORKING 3.60 GAME WILL RUN ON YOUR 3.55 PS3 WITH THIS RELEASE.
Is this SDK useful for Devs ? Time will tell, if we are ever able to run homebrew on 3.60+, it would be very useful....

If you can use it without the hardware mods, could you effectively be able to upgrade to 3.70 to play on PSN, and then downgrade with just the pup back to 3.55 for homebrew? Seems like that would be a pretty good step forward if it's the case as alot of ppl don't wanna hard mod their PS3's.

This will NOT lead to any keys or CFW. I can't think of any dev/dev team that has told us they are working on 3.60 and then either went on vacation or just "disappeared, or like the recent "dismissed" the PS3. I went out 5 months ago and just bought myself a new PS3 because I knew we would not be getting 3.60+ CFW for maybe a year or so after the Geohot and Graf incidents.

People are confused because on several news site , the admins took their moths very full and spoke about "christmas eve" "big step to 3.60 keys"....
Fact is, that this sdk is pretty usless if you main goal is "backup 3.60 games".
And even for dev's i dont see the value - we cant sign anything made with the sdk, so as long as we dont have the keys, there is no use for this sdk.

Funny no matter how many times you say it, homebrew and CFW are not the same, and use diferent tools, this is something if keys was at had for Dean to create MM to run on 3.60, but as I have said, Dean has said, and ever other member here with any brains has said, it dose not give you any more chances of getting cfw, because there hasn't been any CFW since acid if I remember right on 3.41, and that was still realy mostly modded . The CFW you lot think your using is not CFW, its modded 3.41 or 3.55 firmware, MODDED not CUSTOM.
To have CFW for the dumb to understand we need to have say 3.60 OFW unlock it, edit it, and lock it back up again, and keep the hash the same, all with out keys, but its still using SONY's OFW as its base, not created, by 3rd party members, so its still MODDED firmware.
NO KEYS, NO UNLOCK DOOR. sad but true.

i don't understand, the only way you could have your dlc is through reformating the hdd without a backup.
i got over $700 worth of content on my hdd that i paid for, no ****ing way i would risk a downgrade just to lose it all with no other option to get it, but there is an option just in case, and it only works for stuff you actually bought.
those wanting the npdrm keys are pirates, pure and simple, i know because i'm the biggest pirate of them all but at least i'm not trying to rationalise an excuse for my swashbuckelry.
the only thing that interests me is more emulators and i know this will be a great help to those wanting to push 3d graphics engine based emulation and make em run flawless.

This leak will not help the scene, even as it may seem so. You do realise that the people that actually NEED the SDK for development purposes have had already access to it, right?
Even if you manage to decrypt 3.60 Signed selfs, you think that every game that will be released from now on will still be encrypted with 3.60 SDK keys? And because of this f**king leak the SDKs are now harder to be obtained by actual developers. Seriously how many of the people that have downloaded the SDK will actually USE it? Do you all people have dex/decr units on 3.60forDEX/forDECR? I guess not. People please do understand that whoever leaks this kind of stuff is not a person who cares for the scene, but rather one that wants it DEAD. They are some kind of "fake populists", if that is the term. Realise who is truly working for you and please, reprobate those who are against the scene. If the leakers were truly interested in the scene, they would have used the sdk to
produce better homebrew etc., as it is sadly a full leak. However they chose to leak it; to somehow urge devs to "share the secret info they possess". Do you realise though that if
devs suddenly did that, exploits would be patched etc.? Do you people know that now real DEX units cannot access the sp-int network? Apparently there is some sort of a whitelist that Sony employs to ban DEXs from PSN if they are not in their whitelist of approved IPs(or another identifier). And this happened because of people abusing Rebugs
feature, that was initended for use only by DEX units. It is not the fault of Rebug, nor of the people that flooded the PSN. However this serves as an example of what public disclosure of information does. Given the time Rebug may have found a way to mask the CEX units as DEX or sth like that, so you people had PSN for far more than you had now; which was like what, 2 weeks-1 month? That is why stuff not directly useful to the end user(you people) should NOT be made public; not because devs are mean kids who don't like to share, but because it's better for YOU, to enjoy YOUR system to the fullest and for the MAXIMUM TIME POSSIBLE. Thank you for your time.

thats what I was pointing to.... if the file was sending or receiving, most software firewalls would at least point out the transmission/port listening file in question... even if were a bogus name... zonealarm for instance, will allow you to block access to certain programs... most trojans have to be executed or host file has to be opened or accessed... am i right?
the sdk doesn't have control over the OS. someone test it on a orphan pc... not connected to any network... in theory, wouldn't the sdk stop working if it can't be "checked up on"

Most of the time its psn debug or unencrypted disc eboots that are being modded and signed to work in retail mode and or resigned to work on modded 3.55 firmware.
As it stands there is only one publicly known way to decrypt an encrypted eboot.
That is by using an obscure payload method developed by Graf Chokolo in his famous Sonic4 eboot example.
This is probably the method, or similar, Duplex has been using but that's just a guess.
All of the "available" DLC i have seen so far has not been encrypted to begin with.
Which just means getting it and copying it into the right location.
In my experience if the game runs at all it knows where to look for new content.
If its there and not encrypted, it loads.
If someone comes up with a hard drive image decoder for the PS3 backup utility its possible to backup and recover the ACT.DAT and All *.Rif's from that image.
Rebuilding the eRegistry.sys to match that ACT.DAT is a little more complicated but it can be done.
In the end I think its a matter of creating a PSN user account without PSN on the PS3 first. (yes I know another utility request)
The PS3 data transfer utility can and will transfer and activate everything.
Even though it says it might not, it does restore everything if a matching PSN account is found first.
If the PSN account does not exist in the registry it will not restore any licenses but everything else.
The new lv0 and metldr lock everything... look for those to be hacked before anymore questions about new Firmware options.

As to the link, it's a link just like any other link. I could give you a link to Google and you would go to Google and type in what you want to get and in this instance it would quite likely take you to PS3ISO. Would that be promoting Warez? Simple answer is No.
PS3HAX does not actively promote Warez, but it Does treat it's members as adults and give them the freedom to decide themselves whether to download something or not.
Also do not forget that in most forums, it is a fine balance between talking to people on All levels of experience and knowledge.

Most of these new games are being built with the latest SDK (or at least they make it seem that way..)... is it possible to find which (if any at all) of the new syscalls from the newer sdk's are being used and compare it with the current sdk? Is it possible to find which syscalls differ between the older SDK with the newer?

The "syscalls" are a "property" of a kernel module (like LV0/LV1/LV2) and not of the SDK.

so basically... the only reason we can't run our BU of the 3.6+ (- the few that had updates that were compiled with a lower sdk versions) is that they are compiled with the 3.6+ keys...? or am i way off... I'm not a programmer, but i'm interested in getting into it. i'm just trying to understand the SDK and its relationship with the OS. I know the SDK is used as a tool/guideline for creating the games. but are they like runtimes like .net or vb... where certain features were added in the later versions of the runtimes... hahaha... i'm not sure if i'm explaining myself well...

I'm also new to psbrking (bought dongle about 8 months ago) and recently my girlfriend bought me driver: san francisco that requires fw3.66.
I have some questions:
I didn't install the fw that comes with the game, did i do the right thing?
I understand that the dongle spoofs to version 3.55. will it spoof from 3.66 to 3.55?
Am I using the right thing to play backups or should i install/buy something else?
In July, I have read a post that a guy called no_one had gone on vacation( you all probably know about that already) for 3 weeks and haven't heard anything else since.

ive actually stopped logging on here everyday because it gets old reading people asking for 3.60+ keys/cfw everyday. Ive kinda lost interest in my hacked ps3 and am just looking forward to all these new games coming out. I have like a 100 backed up games on my hacked ps3 and it's funny because they all bore me. Nowadays im only playing on my updated PS3 with friends online. Didnt even turn on my hacked ps3 all weekend. Battlefield 3 beta and Classic Zombies on Blackops is all i play on ps3 these days. Ill add Dark Souls to those games starting tomorrow.
Ive just lost interest in the scene until some major developments go down. The PS1 thing is cool but it will be way better when u can mount ps1 and ps2 images from a hdd

i agree to a extent. you jus confuse yourself with all the options lol. but if you were able to go online with the games i think you would still have a few favourites. when uncharted 3 , battlefield 3 come out, i know i will be playing them.
