The team known as Duplex, well known  for releasing PSN games, has released a 3.55 patch for Battlefield 3 (a FW 3.72 game)! With Uncharted 3 playable only a few hours ago, its definitely been a great weekend for PS3 owners.
UPDATE: But besides the fix for BF3 (note the Uncharted 3 fix is not the same “method” as the BF3 one), there is more good news that comes out of this release. We can’t say much about it right now, but I just received word that there is a VERY good chance that all the games coming this holiday season and pre-existing unplayable games will soon be playable on CFW PS3s!

Phew, last couple of days/weeks the PS3 scene really seems to have gone forward. Good signs for the future perhaps.

Idk I will always praise the ones that release the work. I know there are devs that are keeping it to themselves, I'm not saying I blame them for it, but I would release my work. The person that does the work has the option to release it or keep it, but in the end someone is bound to uncover the same flaw in the security. Right on DUPLEX even if you did use someone elses work you're helping the scene progress past this "we have Linux, what else could you ever want?" bs. How about being able to play the games I bought and having linux on the same console?

Wow, very busy week for the scene! it all sounds like it's unbelievable really.
Not only will the manufacturers of True Blue be pissed off as they wont be seeing huge sales, but $ony slavemasters will be whipping their IT teams to find out how duplex et al have managed to bypass the new keys.
This is the worst time for this to happen as well, new xmas game releases just round the corner and a new hack is about to be revealed which will enable cfw to play those games. It's like a nightmare for $ony and publishers.

You need to install update 1.01 to run BF3 , meaning : they cracked the 1.01 not the 1.00 version.
So basicly the can crack very game update and we can play these games on fw 3.55

Ok guys i search for multiple sites & find tons of goods through these 3 search engines & the great part is even if they are not released or if sombody has a servey .You can still snatch the download if you know how to search = Key words will bring you much success !

Sorry for being offtopic, i dont want to start a discussion (and i will try not to answer, because i will left my points very clear in this message) but the way they refer to different regions with the words "dupe" and "lame" is insulting and ignorant because:
1 - sony does not release games for different regions with no reason, game contents are different in most cases
*The only esception to this is when the EURO release is only for U.K. (united kingdom) I.E. "fallout 3 GOTY edition" that was released in europe with severall ID, and every ID had ONLY 1 language, the UK release of this game probably is exactly the same than USA but there are not much more games like this
2 - If there is only one region that contains languages for others... these are the EURO... again because united kingdom is in europe, and they speak your "mother" language english (history lesson for free)
*Of course releasing only EURO is a nonsense because what happen with ASIAN and JAPAN regions ?... you are ignoring them

The way I see it, they're just trying to get some fame and not release the method to do this. The 360 scene has nothing like this, the method is almost instantly released for any problem. as if this is the latter they may have just cracked the full game thats on the psn store and which would also mean that fixes for other games may not be coming unless you can download the game from the store.

Delete all BF3 data rom internal hdd from any old installs. Dont try booting BF3 up again until you have run both packages
Get crack and patch again (from a trusted place) just to mke sure.
Run Patch.v1.01.pkg
Run crack pkg
In MM I DO NOT have anything ticked in the game settings (external, bd mirror etc) NOTHING at all.
Select game in mM menu. It even asked me to swap param.info from 3.72 to 3.55.
That is all i did.
BTW it will need about 2gb free on internal to install game data.

you know whats going to happen, Future Sony systems will have some sort of small hardware that comes with the game when you buy it. Something that plugs in the system or controller. So that theirs no way you can do a soft mod like a EBOOT fix. All though I am just making this up but it's sounds like something they would do.

I see people are on the getting error msgs on the install of pkgs....if you're getting an error first make sure you're not on an outdated cfw...like wutangrza as pkgs aren't signed for this firmware anymore....big props to DUPLEX keep em coming...and plz,plz stop asking for releases...all in due time just be patient and give props for what was given

Not everyone plays FPS games for the multiplayer. Even if they do, there's a chance that some of the people who are requesting might want to play it with LAN(with xlink kai etc) for a different multiplayer experience due to the lack of PSN on current CFW.

I also have XBOX 360 that was never connected to XBL or internet and it's about 3 years old.

So, let's see, "we" (they) have the NPDRM keys, that allows those fixes and PSN games to work,
we have the possibility of getting the per_console keys, wich allows the ultimate CFW wich would be the almost total control of the PS3;
we do not have the private keys (but we do have the public one's) for a CFW 3.60+,

All in all, I don think he's done much to progress the scene, rather he's been showing his ego and criticising others. The scene doesnt need people like that, too bad that over the year 90% of them have been like that, hence why things take so long to hack on the ps3.

No one who's done nothing has any right to tell off any of the underground devs/people in the scene. I understand that some of them might get big-headed but that comes with popularity/fame etc whatever you want to call it. All we do is wait for a solution and download. Just be thankful everyone. Have not tested myself as i dont think i have room on my Internal, but it comes from the same site I first seen the DUPLEX fix for BF3, but this fix is not from duplex!

i installed the right patch then the crack for bles01275 onto my ps3 with usb pen, had the game on external drive, went into multiman, and it went crazy skipping pages, n freaking out, saying waiting, then skipping , anyone else have this problem??, now the multiman icon has gone grey and does the same with no ext hd plugged in, what is going on here???
i have never had this problem before and followed it to the T, its not hard anyway, ive installed the right patch and crack for my copy off the game because i double checked

Hmm a lot of weird behavior after this patch is installed for some. I'd advise people to give more details about their setup when reporting a problem; maybe this way we can see a pattern. Could be simple user error, but then again maybe not... Sorry to say I'm not interested in this game, and not really curious enough to borrow it/download it just to try.

seems to be working fine now!
After deleting multiman which was (500mb+). Re-installed base 2.09.00 then doin a MM online update to.02. MM sure builds up alot over the months with updates!!
Question is it ok to start from MM base 2.09.00 again?

getting error 80010017 on both versions BLUS30762 and BLES01275. The laser isn't the problem it plays games straight from discs and backups and I've tried different backup managers (gia and rogero) and getting the same result..... any suggestions?

I'm using Multiman, installed relevant patches, when I play the game it tells me i'm running 3.55 and need to upgrade to 3.6 or higher. I manually replaced the param.sfo on my HDD but still the same outcome, any ideas please ????

So I just got BLUS30887... says it is the US release. But this patch works on BLUS30762 and BLES01275. Ummm, what the heck did I get? What is the difference between BLUS30887 and BLUS30762 (not much info on the web for BLUS30887)?

1. U3 has a pretty straightforward eboot swap (plus the freezing fix).
2. BF3 has a crack.pkg and a update 1.01.pkg supplied by Duplex which need to be installed before the game is run.
3. Singstar uses a previous Singstar game's update and a change to the param.sfo so that the system thinks it is the older game.

These fixes are really great and all but aren't they just merely random fixes, like Cheesethief said.
Errors made by the game producers that helped us get these games to work.
All I'm saying is that the part of having received good word for "other games on the horizon",
where exactly did it come from? What's the source?

Hello, newbie here. I don't want to start a new thread so I ask here. I hope that's ok. Ok, my ps is 3.55. I know how to use multiman, ftp, etc so that's not a question. And now I am trying to play Battlefield 3.
copy BLUS or BLES files to a FAT32 USB Disk -- I understand this.
install the DUPLEX patch 1.01 = How? That's the main problem. How do I install the patches ? I put patches and cracks to the ps3 hdd with some ftp-program? Right, but were i exactly put the patches? Which folder? And how do I install these patches if the game is located in external hdd?
install the DUPLEX Crack = above ^^
run game from multiman and let it patch your paramsfo = That's not a problem
play from xmb on your cfw 3.55 = So i play it via external hdd?
I tried to find something but i was out of luck. I would be so grateful if someone could help me. Thank you!

Thought I'd share this since it might help some people out if they get a blackscreen like i did
Got it running on:
CFW:Rebug 3.55.2 with Rebug Update Package 1 and 2 on both Fat and Slim PS3's(only tested internal haven't tried external)
Using MultiMan 2.9.00 and 2.9.02
Duplex eboot patch and eboot crack pkg's
MultiMans PARAM.SFO change
Original Disc: (US)Battlefield 3
My problem was that i had backed up the game with an old Multiman (2.8.xx)
patched and ran it no good got a blackscreen and just updating MultiMan to 2.9.xx won't do it,you also have to erase and reinstall the game(i suggest rebooting after erasing) with the New Updated MultiMan and then reapply the Duplex patches and let the New MultiMan change the PARAM.SFO...worked for me

Looks like Duplex isn't able to fix any more games. Their release of MW3 didn't come with a crack. JB2 is the only hope now.

After installing the correct patch and crack, I opened the game and it says that its going to install to the HDD. It stops at 95% and till me that the game data is corrupted and needs to be deleted, i delete the game data and now when I open the game there I'm stuck with a black screen.

yes i did. i have one of them internally and the other external. i ran the both pkg and crack for both versions and still did not appear. i tried to boot it from the usdir which exits the MM and shows on XMB as a currupt disk. one thing i did notice was that most games have a ps3_disk.sfb which helps boot the game, but on battlefield 3, both versions do not contain it. any idea?

I'm having the same problem as ibrrapr in post #441. I have bles version of bf3 and the correct versions of patch/crack. I manually replaced the PARAM.SFO. The patch and crack installed fine, but BF3 doesn't show in MM. I refreshed MM and still same. I updated to newest version of MM and still no sign of BF3. My external folder was labeled GAMEZ and other games show and work fine. I renamed folder to GAMES but still no sight of bf3. Anyone have a solution? Thanks in advance

I also got the error 80010017 after doing the game update . The cure is going & delete the BLES01275 (or BLUS30762 - depending of the game edition/version) folder in Game folder of PS3's internal HDD (be careful - GAME folder not GAMES !!!). This will also kick out your patch & cracks so you have to reapply them. At next start of the game, deny the update.
Can anyone say how to run the game after the update has been done?

I think I got it. After you apply the patch & crack, go to multiman, select & launch the bf3 without doing the update. This will create (recreate if you previously deleted it) the BLES01275 / BLUS30762 folder in the "game" folder on internal hdd - I think the patch & crack handy work is also situated here. Quit the game and go into the game folder on ps3's hdd and make a copy of the BLES01275 / BLUS30762 folder to a different location. Restart bf3, allow it to do the update, and wait for the error 80010017 to show up. Go back to where you saved the earlier mentioned folder copy & override the one which is now in "game" folder (I think you can skip "DRMDIR" in this process). Go back to multiman, select the bf3, do a manual permission and start the game. It should load now.
The reason for all this is that some of the initial patched/cracked files are modified by the update (I have no idea which ones & is a bother to find out) so you'll just put them back. Unfortunately, once you do the patch/crack steps is not possible to reapply them (at least not in my knowledge since I'm an idiot) without deleting as mentioned in my previous post.
I didn't have time to see how is running so see for yourself. For me is the first shooter game so it will take a while to go through the game.
Question: is there any possibility to do a multiplayer (run from the original disc) when running CFW? Thanks!

With the last post about Shadowgun, that led me to performing a small far more investigation on other games coming to Android soon.  To see if there were any others that stood out.  Anything that looked exclusive and looked like some thing for a guy who is tired of playing with angry birds and cutting ropes.  And I ought to go on record to say, I am truly impressed with what has been accomplished by these developers utilizing the Unity engine.  Both Shadowgun and Bladeslinger are built ontop of Unity and they appear lovely.  Remeber when Epic released their tech demo (and later game referred to as Infinity Blade) develop utilizing their Unreal engine.  It was gorgeous.  And I am glad that Android gamers are acquiring a bite of critical games, not just cute time wasters.

As for now there is no solution for CFW3.55 by kmeaw to play this game. unless some hacker released patched file just like they did w/ battlefield 3. (just for suggestion) this is what I will do if the patched of this game will not came out till this end of december. (Buy Xbox 360 w/Lt2 already installed then you can play lot of game that can't be played in PS3 CFW3.55
