• I start developing PS3MFW Builder 0.2.1 a few mouths ago, and since then it’s just laying around my computer.
It’s fully working, only one function should rewritten.

    Features:
    Settings:
    - Choose language.
    - Select Temp folder.
    - Select PS3_KEYS folder.
    - Save/Default all the settings, including selected/unselected tasks, original/modified firmware paths, theme and so on.
    - For developers: you can restart PS3MFW Builder by pressing Shift-R .

    Languages:
I added the option to translate PS3MFW Builder to any language, including RTL, unique symbols and so on..
Thanks to eussNL for creating most of the translations.

You can also easiely create your own translation, all the text it stored in an .xml file.

    Tasks:
    - Added the option to select multiple files using “files” option type.
    - Added the option to select directory using “directory” option type.

Developers: The only thing should be rewritten is the “save_settings” function.
The best way is to add a function in xml.tcl which will replace the text in specific node.

      indeed.

      [MENTION=194572]DanyL[/MENTION]
you should adjust the homebrew_category.tcl, as it only makes adjustments for English.xml
bad for foreign languages other than english

or is it corrected? i'll take a look
      nope.

I actually tried to do it for all the languages, but there are encoding issues with the tcl file itself.
If I write non-English letters in the tcl file, it wont run.

I've edited it with English and German xml and it worked for me. I have now on English and on German config the TV/Homebrew category. Dunno about other languages.

Sure, there are about 3-4 languages you can change without any problem.
But try to edit Russian, Chinese, Japanese and so on..

Short Translation Guide for people that wish to contribute:
      * The file is in XML UTF-8 format. Make sure you use an UTF-8 compatible editor (e.g. Notepad++)
      * Name the file itself in normal characters only (format is "English name_localised name, e.g. French_Francais.xml and /not/ French_Français.xml !).
      * Provide a localised translation for each word/line within the XML subitems.
      * Save and try it in PS3MFW Builder. In some cases (e.g. Korean) the characters do not appear in the editor, but /will/ apear inside MFW Builder because of the UTF-8 encoder.

What does the PS3_KEYS setting do?

I understand you navigate to the PS3_KEYS folder and select it, however I do not understand its use?

If I select the PS3_KEYS folder and confirm it, will it add the 3.55/3.56 keys to the 3.41 MFW I want to create?

No, it will just select the folder where your keys are located that wil be used for unpacking/unself'ing and repacking/reself'ing etc. It does not add keys to firmwares (that is something that a seperate task could do, but is not released atm)

      Ah, damn.

How would one create a separate task that could add the 3.55/3.56 keys to a 3.41 MFW?

One would learn TCL, and what/where to patch in appldr like explained in your other topic : http://www.ps3hax.net/showpost.php?p...6&postcount=14 to create a TCL file that can be dropped into the task folder.

      Is this a hard process?

Like, if it wasn't that hard, it would have been done by now wouldn't it? Or do you believe it hasn't been done simply because almost no one in the PS3 scene bothers with MFW?

      Thanks euss,
But I'll stick with the language formatting by the language name in English, because there are languages (such as Hebrew (which is not Yiddish! ) and arabic) that cann't be pushed or even loaded in their own language.

and btw there is also a new germen translation (which psprofi sent me).

I'll push it all later today.

Well, it's not hard to write the task itself if you know what/where and how to patch.

To be honest, there is already patch that insert 3.56 keys, but never have been released to the public.

Yeah, I guess because I have no coding experience with offsets and patching and stuff it would be hard for me.

Pity no one has released it though. I, for one, would make use of it and I am sure a lot of others who make their own MFW would too.

      Few changes:
      1) I decided to separate the '/language' directory from the main git repository to it's own git. (https://github.com/DanyL/PS3MFW-Translations)
This way more git repositories can use it without updating their own git by adding it as a submodule.
Of-course I created a submodule from the main git to the 'PS3MFW-Translations' too.
      2) I decided to adopt euss's language formatting.
      3) I pushed 4 more translation (again, thanks to euss! ).
      4) I updated the 'ps3mfw-ps3mfw_0.2.1.zip' too with the new formatting & translations.

Actually the Cinavia 'fix' has been in previous versions of PS3MFW Builder all along - all you had to do:

Select the change_devflash_files.tcl task and select the approppiate files.:
      - bdp_plugin sprx
      - videoplayer_plugin sprx
and replace for the correct location.

If you still need the 'cinavia only' change_devflash_files task, you can find it here: http://www.ps3devwiki.com/index.php?....2011_addition

      edit:
Portuguese (Euro) was crosschecked for Portuguese (Brasil) by walsid, no differences, one changed line for both lingua - updated git accordingly. Still want to crosscheck spanish variants (euro, latin, mexico) if possible, so if you are native tongue, let us/me know

edit2: Spanish-Latin-American was checked and added to git as well now

      Edit3:
      documenting a known/solved problem:
      Code:
Error: could not unpkg file dev_flash_[xxx] :child process exited abnormally (e.g. with spoof task selected)
Solution: User did not select keyfolder (ps3keys or .ps3) in settings.
