PS3HaX member moogie (There seems to be debate on who actually released this, but from the general idea it was kept underground and moogie leaked it to public- I dont know why there is a fuss, but if your more interested about “epeen” you can read about that here) Â has released an eboot fix for those of you wanting to buy and play Uncharted 3 on your CFW machines, here is a quote from the read me:
(1) Install Uncharted 3 onto the PS3
(2) delete camera.txt from dev_hdd0/GAMES/BCES01175/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/build/main/movies1/
(3) Replace the EBOOT.BIN in dev_hdd0/GAMES/BCES01175/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/ with the one included in the RAR
(4) Launch Game
(5) PROFITNOTE: GOING TO DRAKE’S JOURNAL FREEZES GAME. UPDATE 1.01 FIXES THIS BUG, BUT IS ENCRYPTED. DO NOT UPDATE THE GAME, IT WILL BECOME UNPLAYABLE ON 3.55.

The keys aren't new, they're public keys. Anyone with the know-how and tools can grab them.

First of all a big thanks for the hard work to those who managed to bring this eboot fix under the roof. If this was really leaked than shame on the person who stole it, but so is life.
Can we now focus on the big picture? So far there are almost 70 comments but still no one has confirmed if this really works. I am downloading my backup at the moment but it would be nice to hear a confirmation from someone else so that we know we are not downloading a 45GB sized data in vain. BIG THANKS AGAIN!

its good to know i can buy this game now and play it on my CFW console... i just hope that there might be some new fixes for other games. i bought portal 2 and bf3 in hopes there might be a fix one day. as for all the contoversy over who released and who leaked ect , really... like cmon some one has to get there story strieght either moogie made the whole thing and signed it or , like as many of you said, only was testing it for another dev and he leaked it . What saddens me is that it seems my fears have been confrimed.
The "closed circle" has stuff leaps and beyond of what we can see, things average joe will be never able to get.

He got the game working by getting a debug eboot and signing it with 3.55 keys. This seems to be what jb2 does too

What if someone can post a pdf with Drake's Journal? So everybody in spite of the game freeze can consult it drake's journal on his computer. I just found a (341 FIX from a underground site & i believe the writing on the site was polish ..But i checked the eboot.bin & i could not tell 100% what the id is .

Played the game a few hours. managed fine without the journal. But the game freezes after a while at chapter 9 by itself. Restarted the game, but freezes at the same point everytime.

Begs a question as to what we all have decided that patch 1.01 removes the problem with the journal - for pre-order the hundreds of thousands U3, and that if they go to people without the Internet, where they will take a patch? I think it would not let the game without tests with such a serious bug. the best guess i can estimate is he reverse engineered the 3.7 eboot and noticed that the eboot from uncharted 2 was very similer and change a bit of code here n their and copy 3.55 eboot with 3.7 loader strings and poof we have working eboot

Ugh, I hate games that are leaked early. Especially ones I plan on buying.
I get to sit here jealous that you guys are already enjoying this, while I'm being punished, and having to wait until Tuesday to purchase it!

Would it be possible to implement the fix without the eboot? I mean, IF, the problem related to the journal is like a messed up file in some directory, can we just substitute the files containted in the 1.01 update .pkg with those in the directory of the game, with the exclusion of the eboot (we keep the decrypted one)? Or is the eboot itself that contains the drake's journal bug / the game wouldn't start anyway, still requiring 1.1 or stating "corrupted install" or whatever? Maybe try to substitute the update files (all but the updated eboot)only after the first installation of the game (if an installation is required)... Maybe it's just too simple too work idea, still....

[rant] wow... I just spent about 5 minutes to read through some of the comments on this post. No wonder there are so many developers and hackers leaving the scene. all you guys do is thank people for insignificant news that leads to more piracy and could care less about actual developments. It is because of the general attitude of the scene audience that moggie leaked it, and it is because of that you will probably never have a fixed version of this game. I hope that whoever it was that actually signed the eboot and intended its release does not fix it, he/she owes all of you absolutely nothing and until you guys realize how useless this website and so many others would be without them I really hope they stop releasing everything that they work on from now on. You guys don't deserve ****. and if any of you actually used your ps3s for homebrew and not piracy it wouldn't really matter that much to you if this was working or not. The game doesn't freeze because of a 1.01 update (that doesn't exist). It freezes because you're playing a game designed for 3.70+ on a 3.55 firmware. So if the game calls libraries that don't exist in 3.55 it will freeze. Simple !

There are no new functions beetween 3.70 and 3.55...
It freezes because the retail version is buggy.
(only other explanation is , that they did it on purpose and uncharted calls parts of the new security implementation in 3.70. But Sony thinks their new games are secure, so why they should implent extra checks...)

There's no update because the game isn't out yet. However, it might be out on the debug network, since that's its purpose, and I'm inclined to believe the same people who got the 1.00 debug eboot would be in a position to know whether or not an update had been released.

I haven't played U3 yet, I was busy with Battlefield 3 on PC. But I will try it later today and I'm pretty sure the diary thing is going to work. I just put it in my PS3 to see if there was an update 1.01 and there is no update available on the retail PSN network.

Patch for 3.41 not working for me. Copied to the internal, made the changes but when run just reboots back to the PS3 start screen.

I hope somebody release's fix for Uncharted 3, that will solve Drake's Journal Viewing (SELECT button), which you need to solve certain quests/puzzles in the game. I'm at level 6 and can't continue, cause I haven't figured the right order to step on those marked stone blocks on the floor.

We can pass chapter 9 but game will freeze at chapter 11 again and yeah the most important thing, after copy the save file game will disable the trophies so if anyone like trophies forget about Uncharted 3 and CF 3.55
As far as I know there is no way to finish this game with save files and trophies and I think will not be.

I'm playing Uncharted 3 right now on 3.73. The journal works perfectly. There is no update 1.01 or 1.02. It works pefectly without updates. So you should get your facts straight. Go buy the game and try it in a 3.73 console and you will see the journal working perfectly.

I've download the "SAVE_DATA_U3" but i can't play with it. In the folder we've got BCES01175_NDI_UNCHARTED3_BT_5, in there these files :
ICN-ID, ICON0, PARAM.PFD, PARAM.SFO, and USR-DATA.
When i copied all files except the param.sfo the ps3 say the savegame is corrupt.
Anyone can give me a tips.
PS: i've removed 3D videos from the game and i also removed languages. I just keep french.

I deleted everything of uncharted 3 previous saves with FTP.
even in the /home folder.
now copy the save game to your usb stick and go on your PS3 and copy it from there

I want to play UC3 from my external drive and i think i have a solution for it. the reason why UC3 can't fit on the external drive is because there is a file called pak23.psarc that is 8gig. there is a program that will allow you to unpack the psarc file and will allow you to put uc3 on your external drive. i'm trying it out now. Will post again with results...stay tuned...
EDIT: it's an old fix that was used to make UC2 play externally. the file is called PSARC.exe. i think it may still be here as a download. if not, i will ask permission to upload it. I did not create this program and i do give all respect, rep and kudos for the person that did.

I've transfered UC3 to my Internal HDD.
I did the Eboot fix, and used the latest Multiman.
But when I start it, the hdd indicator stops blinking and this ring keeps spinning forever.
What could I've possibly done wrong?

Hello love her,
I found out that it's not the game itself, it is the freeze but it is because if you hang in Mission 2 since the diary and you shall call, and only then on the game.
If there is a possibility to fix this please as postet yet.
PS: Despite frozen screen loads the hard drive of the Playstation still, unfortunately, does nothing more in the game!

Gregory, please update the UPDATE#2 information because it doesn't say it's the multiplayer option. It only says in the title.
I will love to play this game. I bought my ps3 in last December to play the Uncharted titles. Finished Uncharted, Uncharted 2 and now we can play Uncharted 3. I'm very pleased with this news. Thanks to all the devs that make all PS3 related stuff so we can profit of OUR machine. (YES $ONY, OUR MACHINE that we bought!!!)

i just downloaded and played this game. in chapter 2's enter it asked me to open journal. it killed me because my hunger of knowledge and i opened it then boom :D and all of cutscenes are lagging. you must push start button and wait for setuping them.it weird. like my english :D

Use psarc.exe. you don't have to split the file. It will allow you to dump all the files in the pak23.psarc to a folder.

To those of you who blindly talk around depblkman comment of using PSARC let me explain what he is trying to do, and let it be said that it might work with some games.
Most of the big files if not all of them are archives, meaning that the files contain many other small files. See it like some sort of ZIP file, or a RAR. Devs use these large archives to clean up the directory structure, add some security or compress the game. Some of these archive types are known. PSARC is a known archive type.
Games sometimes are written to first look on disc for the files that are stored within the archive, if it's not found then it'll look inside the archive. This is done for easier development. If you are a programmer you don't want to repack a +4GB archive over and over just because you wanted to edit a single file in it.
The trick depblkman is mentioning is to extract the archived PSARC and remove the archived file. In some cases it makes the game bigger, but if the game is written to look for the separate file first then it might still work, resulting in a game that now can be played from an external HDD since it doesn't need split files. Sadly some games are edited the last minute, not to look for the separate files. Or the files need to be placed at an unknown location to work.
To recapitulate, depblkman might have a point. It's worth checking out.
Unless you want to state your findings if the trick worked with this game then please do not comment on this any further to keep the thread on topic... it's drifting off in too many directions already. This is a thread about the patch and getting this game to work as well as possible.

the posted chapter 9 save is not working for me.I have copied using ftp, using multiman file manager, using ps3 save utility. The save loads fine, but as soon as I turn the corner, it freezes. I even deleted the other saves and same issue, loads upt, but then freezes again. I have an 80GB PHAT running kemeaw with 3.72 spoof. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

I have the game. I uploaded it into my PS3's internal drive, deleted the camera.txt and replaced the EBOOT. It starts up, but when I start a new campaign game it doesn't start. It just starts loading, but when it finishes loading all I get to see is a black screen, nothing more.

I've tried to mess around with the camera.txt and i found out, that if you delete some lines in this file, the game starts with camera.txt.
Maybe someone can find the right line(s) that causes the game to "hang" in the loading screen.
Maybe someone see an logical error in one line and correct it.
I don't know, its just an idea, don't flame me for that.
I thought it's worth it to waste some time.
Would be cool if more people try that, cause i am getting tired from messing around with it since it has so many ways to edit it.

no freezes after chapter 11 (unless you open up the journal)...
if you need the journal just look at the walkthrough videos on youtube and pause when the journal is opened...
both of the saves worked for me on 3.41 with E3 dongle and multiman...

Please stop the arguments over who created it. I do not play the games, so I do not care. And if I did, I would just be happy that something came out to help me play it. What I do know is that the mods are probably sick and tired of hearing people argue on this topic.
The fact of the matter is, we have no clue who created it other than moogie signed and released it. Everyone is going on a rumor that someone else made it, there has never been any factual evidence to back up the claim that I or anyone else has seen. Personally, I would just enjoy the game that I otherwise would not be able to play at all.
If you can provide a link to the twitter page he says that on, I will gladly eat my words. Still though, my care level for this patch is almost nonexistent other than I am happy the scene is moving at a faster pace than before.

The question I have is do you transfer the game saves to the console internal hdd before you start the game or does it matter? I have both the saves and the partial eboot fix so I do have all the files necessary to complete the game but I do not know if it matters when the game saves are inserted. Thank you

i got it down to 28.5 gb by wiping 3d movies, from movie1 folder,and wiping other languages from sound1/streams/speech folder, does tht sound right to everyone else??
seen on other threads cut downits 29.2 gb, i checked and double checked i only took out 3d movies and the other languages, worried the bloody thing wont work now lol

I have decrypted the EBOOT from the fix and think I think might of found something.
open the decrypted eboot in hex editor and go to offset D7A230 and look at the lettering.
here is what is typed in offset D7A230

I dont Think that P should be there but I could be wrong as i am just a noob. I would tried fixing this my self but i dont know how to re-encrypt the eboot.

The game freezes immediately after the initial loading ring on the lower right. I've followed the instructions and can't figure it out. Anyone have any suggestions? Deleted camera.txt and added the eboot to the folder.

Just started playing the game, transferred it to ext hd from laptop,split the main psarc file using (split4g),put the 3 files back in ps3game/usrdir/build/main...wiped all 3d movies from movie1 folder, and other languages from sound1/streams/speech, replaced eboot, 28.5 gb game after all tht!..ran it from multiman, from external hd. multiman swapped param from 3.72 to 3.55...works like a charm, no cutscene slowdown or skipping, just like playing it from disc, i know the journal problems coming, but hey im back with Nathan Drake again!!, best games ever made!, funny, inventive, edge of ya seat stuff..this looks like itsgonna be as good or better than the rest...luv it!!
UPDATE: didnt know it would be that quick on needing to use nates journal on level 2 intro with the boy lol

Make sure you have at least v2 of this fix. There was a v2 update with updated instructions.

Hi everyone it looks like a few of us have a problem with booting the game.
I have a copy of uncharted 3 and i replaced the eboot, deleted the camera.txt file, splited the psarc file into 2 parts of 4 GB with comgenie program and tried to play it both from external and internal and it didnt work...
Then i extracted the psarc file with psarc.exe and replaced the file with the extracted folder and files and again i tried it from both external and internal hdd and the ring in the right corner just spins and spins and spins.....
btw.
im using 3.55 CFW, 3.72 spoof, latest multiman....

The fix isn't mine, it's anonymous to my knowledge but someone has an idiot proof guide.
(1) Move PSARC.EXE + zlib.net.dll to \USRDIR\build\main\ of your UNCHARTED 3 GAME DATA folder (not the one included with this package)
(2) Extract ALL *.psarc's into the folder they are already in (\USRDIR\build\main\) on your HDD by dragging each .PSARC file onto PSARC.EXE (delete the .PSARC files after you have extracted them to folders)
When you're done it should look like this:
..\USRDIR\build\main\actor33\
..\USRDIR\build\main\animstream4\
..\USRDIR\build\main\bin\dc1\
..\USRDIR\build\main\pak23\
..\USRDIR\build\main\text1\

But I have been working on that thing while all the fuzz started about the fix. And as far as I can tell no one seems to be clear if the fix works or not... people give answers to posts without saying to who they answer.
To be honest, I'm not playing the game till it works flawlessly. So I can't test the fix out myself.
So if anyone got the journal to work then please be clear about it and be clear with what method.

1. Extract the "Uncharted.3.PROPER.FIX.KMEAW355.READNFO-Nobody.rar" on your PC
2. Go to the new extracted folder and copy "PSARC.exe" and "zlib.net.dll" in the folder PS3_GAME\USRDIR\build\main of your Uncharted 3 Game
3. In this folder are the five .psarc files you have to extract (actor33.psarc, animstream4.psarc, bin.psarc, pak23.psarc and text1.psarc)
You can do this by drag & drop. Means move a single file over the psarc.exe and release the mousebutton. It will start to extract. You should wait until it's finished with the extraction bevor you take one of the next files.
4. When you've done with extracting all of these five files, you've got them now as folder with it's files in it.
You can now delete all the five .psarc files and PSARC.exe and zlib.net.dll cause you don't need them anymore.
5. Rename the folder "bindc1" to "dc1" and move the folder into the folder called "bin".
6. Go back to your "Uncharted.3.PROPER.FIX.KMEAW355.READNFO-Nobody" folder. Go further to the folder "USRDIR\build" and copy everything in there to your Uncharted 3 Game in the folder "PS3_GAME\USRDIR\build\main".
Answer everthing windows will ask you with yes (overwrite files etc.)
7. Now copy your Uncharted 3 game to you external HDD in folder called "GAMEZ". In case this folder doesn't exsist, create it.
8. Now copy the "EBOOT.BIN" file from you "Uncharted.3.PROPER.FIX.KMEAW355.READNFO-Nobody" folder to your Uncharted 3 Game on external HDD into the folder "PS3_GAME\USRDIR\" and overwrite the file.
9. Put your external HDD to your PS3 and start your console.
Put in any PS3 Game you want and enter "MulitMAN".
10. Browse to Uncharted 3 and start the game. It will ask you to modify the PARAM.SFO from the game. Answer with yes.
11. Start the game from the Blu Ray-Icon on the XMB.
Thats it. Be patient, the loadingtimes are a little longer from external HDD.
Hope i didn't make a mistake on this TUT, cause i am totally tired.

1. make sure that you have extracted all of the psarc files.
2. DO NOT merge the USRDIR folder like the instructions says. the folders do not merge properly. You will notice that the folders sit in the Build folder of your Game folder and they need to go into the Main folder of your game folder.
3. The five folders that are in the fix has to be merged with the folders that are located in the USRDIR->Build->Main folder. (please see number 1)
4. replace the eboot.bin file with the one in the fix.
5. Play and Enjoy.

For people having problems with the FIX:
Make sure you have, and are using the latest version of the fix from NOBODY.
Uncharted.3.PROPER.FIX.KMEAW355.READNFO.v4-Nobody is the latest. Make sure you are using and following reading carefully the updated V4 NFO and using the v4 files.

1.copied the psarc.exe and zlib.net.dll to "PS3_GAME\USRDIR\build\main"
2.Extracted "actor333","animstream4","bin","pak23","text1"
3.From extracting bin i got 2 folders i renamed the other one into "dc1" and put it into the bin folder so it looks like this bin/dc1/
4.after that i deleted the psarc files...
5.Next from the "FIXv4" i copied the folders from "USRDIR\build\main" to "\PS3_GAME\USRDIR\build\main" and when it asked me to overwrite i cliked yes to ALL.
6.I replaced the original eboot with the one i got from the "FIXv4"
7.Latest Multiman,changed the param.sfo into 3.55
8.Launch
9.NO PROFIT - I boot the game and it starts and a strange ring appears in the right corner and it seems that the ring doesnt want to disappear....
Using : PS3 40 GB, 3.55 kmeaw, latest multiman,Copy of uncharted 3 29 GB RIP.

I used a clean version, followed instructions, used fix v4, works as normal, journal works, no freezes, animation correct, I play from external drive, BDMirror in Multiman, no disc, on 3.55
I cut out all languages but english, and all the 3d stuff.

Most people have already split the big file.. so
That doesn't help in extracting data at all, which needs to be done with PSARC on the PC.
I ended up doing
cmd.exe COPY /B data.66601+data.66602+data.666.03 data (can be done ad infinitum depending on the amount of files you have)

I think that the split up file does not work, thats why its said use a clean copy, backup, or dl.
If you want you can rip it afterwards from languages and 3d movies.
If you start from a clean copy, un "psarc" al the *.psarc files, after that delete the *.psarc files.
Copy the USRDIR you downloaded and say yes to all merging and copy and replace mesages. and you should be good to go.
The loading with the ring, takes around 45 seconds so be patient.

EDIT: Works flawlessly, journal opens, all sorted!! follow the youtube video tut. If you have a split psarc file on ext fat 32 drive(where game is), use open split program to join them back together, run the big psarc file through psarc.exe, then put the whole folder back where it was, wiping the split files after...job done
i ran every small psarc file through psarc.exe, missing none!!, noone shld have any probs if they followed the youtube guide

So the new method worked for me on external HDD and 3.41. Really long loading times because of external, but it runs ok.
Still I have a problem - not all sounds are present. Like crashing, banging etc. In movies also some dialogues and doors closing are not there also, just ambient sound. Does anybody else have this problem? What could it be?

I can access the journal now with the fix, howeve the loading time pretty much tripled and some of the sound/subtitle won't load during the game.
I merged the folders back into .psarc (with the fixes already applied) and loading time went back to normal.
This is all on external HDD. I can still access the journal even after merge.

the psarc version that's 10kb in size that came with the patch don't support the command lines i think. find one that's 300kb+ in size (google) and list the following when you run the command
psarc.exe -h
just use the create command on the files and name the file the same as the folder name.

i have the 28.5 gb version, now with no freezing or glitches up to chapter 5, i did on chapter 1 and 2, but that was until i copy the data/fonts folder over, and overwrite them on main data/fonts folder, works a treat now!...i have it runnin on external, and multiman needed no data to go in cache as main 8gb psarc file ended up as 11.5 gb folder after running through psarc.exe

Oddly, after undoing the damage I did before (when I recompressed the fixed arcs and the game wouldnt start at all) my loading speeds have been better and so far there's been no more texture issues. This wacky game is so unpredictable.

Hi guys i'm having a problem, my game with the fix works but i don't get music while playing. I'm on chapter 5 right now and i have sound, i mean i hear when the characters talk, make noises, shoot, etc but there is no music, for example if you watch this video: http://www.ign.com/wikis/uncharted-3...tion/Chapter_1 i get no sound when i start fighting the guys there is just no music, i hear the punch sound or glass broken, etc but there is no background music.

the reason for it being faster, for me at least, it's because there are less files to read off the hdd which means faster reads. readings 8 gig of 1 file is a lot faster than reading 8 gigs of 1000 files. Anyways, i think after you re-extract, the files are less fragmented in another location of the drive so the read became faster.

Hey, to all of you having problems with the subtitles read this.
DO NOT OVERWRITE THE FILE "subtitles.txt"
The ORIGINAL file has all the timing codes for all of the cutscenes along the game. The file included in the Kmeaw fix DOES NOT have all the needed timings, I don't know the reason but it has a lot of timing lines less than the original.
So guys, recover the original subtitles.txt file and put it where it belongs.

Stuck on Ch9, there's a bug where a drawbridge should be down to let me continue but it isn't. Tried to load the ch9 save that's been going around to see if that might help but it says "data corrupted" when I try. How do I import saves correctly?

Game works fine so far for me, i had a couple of bugs and long loading times but no freezing. Subtitles work fine if you keep the original subtitles.txt in the movie1 folder (don't replace it with the one that comes with the fix).You can delete all xxx-3d.m2v files in the movie1 directory and all the languages you don't need in the sound1\streams\speech directory, this reduces the game to about 33gb, also i've tryed not to decompress the animstream4 file and just keep it there but YOU MUST DELETE ALL THE OTHER .PSARC's before running the game because it causes the ring to spin forever when loading the game.After that it takes about a minute or two for the games to finish loading and it lags in some scenes due to the uncompressed psarc's and continius disc loading.

Hey guys, there's one more bug in the fixed version of the game that hasn't been fixed yet. At the very beggining of chapter 10 before going downstairs if you try to rotate the camera, move left right, you'll get freeze. It's not critical cause it doesn't freeze if you go downstairs at once, but still the bug remains.

This fix works great!!!with no lag issues or slow loading from external.Be sure to do all the steps.
I had big loading times when i didn't moved dc1 in the bin folder.
Check this :\USRDIR\build\main\bin\dc1\ to be done and you won't have any problems with loading.

I got my copy (Netherlands) of UC3 last saturday and I am still not able to play. Man, that really sucks.
But ontopic:
Is nobody experiencing problems with PSARC.exe.
My windows 7 machines (2 of them) running Windows 7 64-bit and my windows 7 machine with Windows 7 32-bit just won't extract the files.
I've tried the dos commands and dropping the files in psarc.exe, none of them work. Am I missing something ... just being plane stupid... or does somebody else have the same problem or a workaround ?
Now I am downloading the 10GB rapidfire .rars, so hopefully I can finally play UC3 soon.
But even if that solves the problem the question about PSARC remains.

I've got the idea that my psarc program does the exact opposite. Instead of extracting it creates psarc files.

Maybe it is a file-naming problem with windows.
You 'may not have to many characters (I think it's 256 characters) (including the directory structure like: C:\program files\autodesk\autocad\r14\filename.dwg)
I think, like in a .rar file the directory naming is also there in .psarc-files.
But still...
I am just guessing... I can't even extract them f'ing files with psarc ! And you should never listen to a moron !!

Hi guys, I bought Uncharted 3 yesterday and tried to get it to work on my kmeaw PS3 3.55. I followed the tutorial and I still can't launch the game with multiman. and no need to edit or extract pak23 just split it with opensplit and copy the game folder on ext hdd now turn on the ps3 and open multiman and lounch the game from ext hdd the multiman will ask you theres one big file spilted do you want to copy the file to internal hdd ? press x and done
the only space you need on internal hdd is 8 gb

Those of you having trouble with psarc.exe try downloading the version kgb_ posted on page 53 and use that exe manually it's easy, try psarc.exe -h for help, also remember in order to use psarc you must have installed .NET 4 from microsoft. i had problems on my Vista desktop but worked on my laptop, bigger version of psarc.exe worked on both.

I managed to get actor33 repacked but gave up during pak23 as it was taking FOREVER! Here's how I did it, I hope you're ok with using a command prompt cause that's how I done most of this.
For starters, in explorer, move all the files from the actor33 to the root of a drive. Also copy the version of psarc you uploaded into the same place.
Now, load up the command prompt, go to the directory you put all those files in then type
dir /b > actor33.xml
This will give you the full file listing in an xml file, the /b is required to get rid of filesize information and stuff. Open up the xml in notepad or something and delete the lines for psarc.exe and actor33.xml if they exist.
Now, back in the command prompt type
psarc create -y -a -s -h --inputfile=actor33.xml
Just repeat this process for all the other psarc files you want to create.
I tested the new file by dragging it into the psarc from the NOBODY fix just to make sure the folder structure was correct, and it was.
Hopefully this is of some use to you. If it does make a drastic change to the loading times then I might actually finish the process myself. Sure I read that it's only the files in the actor33 psarc that have been altered compared to the ones in the fix which would mean not having to muck about with pak23.psarc as it's a beast!

I did not and the game plays fine, at chapter 12 now (no chapter 9 or 11 save fix needed). Only prob is stuttering/lagging cutscenes. And sometimes game sound starts to come a little bit behind the action. It is not every cutscene that does this, and I CAN watch the cutscenes, if i keep pressing start. when the lag occurs, pressing start-> video then catches up to the sound...weird...any idea what could be causing this?

Follow these steps IN ORDER:
1. Extact Uncharted 3 to your PC.
2. Copy extract.bat ,psarc.exe and zlib.net.dll from the UC3-355FiX.rar to PS3_GAME\USRDIR\BUILD\MAIN.
2. Run the extract.bat (this will extract the required psarc files and delete them when finished).
3. Rename the "bindc1" folder to "dc1" and move it inside the empty "bin" folder.
4. copy the "USRDIR" folder from the UC3-355FiX.rar into the PS3_GAME folder of Uncharted 3 (Click yes to overwrite all files).
5. Replace the EBOOT.BIN with the one included in the UC3-355FiX.rar.
6. Transfer Uncharted back to your PS3, launch in Multiman.
running the bat does everything for you takes about an hour to unpack DONT FORGET TO DELETE extract.bat ,psarc.exe and zlib.net.dll FILES WHEN FINISHED
didnt bother with number 1 done everything straight on external hdd
then plugged back into ps3 run multiman. multiman tells you cant play split files from usb so copy to ps3 hdd. DONE play as usual using multiman, first time it'll ask if you want to patch param.sfo from 3.72 to 3.55 click yes.

have you got the zlib.net.dll file in the folder as psarc.exe as well, you should have,or it wont work!

I have done all the instructions correctly and I put the game on my external but every time I go to start the game I get this error: An error occurred during the start operation (80028F14)
Does any know how to fix this? Again, I did everything as instructed and nothing is working. I am using the cobra CFW 3.55 and I have also tested this on kmeaw cfw 3.55 and still get the same error. Tried with both the cobra manager and the newest multiman.

i bought uncharted 3 and now i have to some how get the psarc. files onto my laptop and then do the process then put the folders back into the ps3 using file manager, but when i try to copy actor33.psarc and pak23.psarc they stop randomly and then filezilla asks me if i want to replace the files with the same name and if i click yes it just starts again and stops again randomly, anyone have an easier way of doing this? oh and i also tried putting the psarc files onto my external and then plugging it into my laptop but they dont show up on my laptop, please someone help me

I have done the fix thing with the folders everything seem to be fine till i got up to chapter 7 in the burning house. drake needs to walk on this wood to get to the other side every time i go near the wood drake gets stuck to the wall, the part where he needs to me up with saley not sure how his name is spell. gsame does not give me chance to walk by the damn thing soo i get close the wall is like a magnet drake just get stuck on the wall. playing from external drive, should i back it up to the ps3 hdd?

I've done the fix with the 10GB of download and the game seems to work okay !!
Finally, after my whole fiasco with PSARC.exe (still not working, although I installed FRAMEWORK again, and again).
Now I can play my copy... that I already have since saturday !!

I was finally able to get it all working last night. There are a few different flavors of "fixes" out there, and not all of them work. Some have the files or folders in the wrong place or named incorrectly. some of them have the bad "fixed" eboot that doesn't work.
Runs WAY faster from External if you leave the psarc's extracted rather than trying to repack them. Trying to run from internal was nearly impossible.

The eboots are all the same, even the first one leaked by moogie has the same checksum.
I'm running it from internal hd, psarcs extracted, it takes some 30-45 seconds to load the menu, plus another 30-45 seconds for the first load, but, after that, the game runs completely smooth, no other loads during the game, no audio lagging and no freezing whatsoever.

if i rip from retail disc to external hard drive using multiman it would split the large file any way. could i then just merge the usrdir from nobody's v4 patch and swap eboots on external then copy to ps3 internal without having to mess with psarcs?

If anyone has that very annoying cutscene lag/stutter, here is a fix that worked for me.
Go to ps3 video settings. I have hdmi, if U have something else, set it. After video, comes audio settings. set 2 channel and NO DOLBY DIGITAL or anything else.
When game starts, go to settings->audio and set from default to 2 channel. (not necessarily required but do it anyway)
Found that last night with google, I was at chapter 11. After that fix, no stutter in cutscenes and I finished the game

I have made a backup of my original copy and after that i applied the 10GB fix.
Playing from internal HDD:
No freezing and no loading issues.
I am at chapter 10 now.

This is an autopatcher, this one should work for every fw version. 3.41 / 3.55.
Just throw it in the UC3 dir, and execute..
May I ask you why ur still using a dongle? and not ever upgraded to a 3.55 CFW?

ok guys i have the V4 fixx by nobody but on chapter 19,after i get to the top of the steps haveing taken down a bad guy at the top,i jump through over the broken wall but drake just falls to his death,the floor is missing.

I have recently backed up a copy of Uncharted 3(about 44 gb) onto my external hard drive and am currently using a psjailbreak dongle, 3.41 firmware, no spoofs, and Gia/open manager/multiman
What would be the next step for me? I am a noob so please help

I've ended the story mode yesterday from external... Very good game. I had a one and only glith in the game. In the 19th chapter, when Salim comes to Nate's rescue, his horse freezed and started to run in the same place. I could run through the map and the map was full of bugs and the enemies appear over and over again in the same places. Salim must go near you and a little movie will start. The solution??? Exit the game, erase game data from the xmb menu, in the top from where we launch the games. It's a +/- 733kb file. It won't harm anything. Then enter the game again and start from your last save. You need to save the game before the glitch more or less when you shoot for the pilars to drop down a car with machine gun that won't let you go further or else you have to restart the 19th chapter all over again. Good luck...

I tried numerous things but could someone help me (explain even) my chapter 12 problem?
As explained earlier, halfway through chapter 12 the game starts to glitch (missing objects, missing animations i.e. gliding characters) and I'm stuck.
If I turn off my PS3 and reload everything to try to continue, Uncharted stops loading the game and just sits there with the spinning ring with no harddisk activity. If I press the PS button and select 'quit game' my PS3 eventually reboots (short peeps and XMB again).
I (re)downloaded the Duplex release, got the latest v5 repack of the patch. I updated the patches again (no errors, warnings, what-so-ever) and copied the whole thing back to my PS3 over FTP. Fixed permissions, deleted the Uncharted3 game data from the XM and ran the game again.. the problem is still there. Using the latest 2.09.02 multiman, running on Geohot 3.55 CFW with LV2-patcher-v9.
What could it be that I have the exact same rip and all the patches apply OK but I have issues, while others played the game through fine?! Could it be everyone else is running kmeaw CFW or something while I'm still on the (bit) older geohot 3.55 ?

have done all of the above word for word. had to merge the 9 pak23.psarc files to get one big file (done on NTFS PC) so i could unpack them all into pak23 folder.
when i load through multiman i still get "can't play games with split files, enable hermes" message. have hermes enabled in BD emulator settings and reset PS3.
have tried repairing permissions, no go.
is this patch for internal HD only? what am i missing (apart from a brain!)?

to be honest i am not sure why i have not installed custom firmware yet. i guess... i still have lots of games that work with the dongle that i wan to play.
this uncharted 3 was an exception. well... and resistance 3 of course.
but i will look into it. what custom are you running by the way?

Hi I have recently backed up U3 and have gone through the whole process of patching it and etc not but when I try to play that game on my ps3 it seem to get stuck in the beginning at the part where the ring is spinning. I have tried it on both Internal and External. I have replaced the eboot. I have (well multiman automatically does) did the paramsof thing. And i have done all of the patching this is very frustrating cuz i have spent like more than 6 hours on this PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!

I copied all of these file to the MAIN folder on my US version of Uncharted 3. Then I double clicked EXTRACT.BAT and it automatically patched everything(in between that process there was some type of error but it still continued) I then deleted the remaining psarc files, then I went i basically folowed the rest of the tutoria. ALSO, i tried to MANUALLY patch(psarc) but there was that same error with PAK.23

Well guys I have discovered u can play the NTSC American copy by simply copying the param.SFO from this euro version and adding the 2gb patch couldn't get multiman to start it but Gaia works beautifully fast no glitches so we all know now that the USA version works too right from a redbox including the param.SFO file from the duplex version and it works f%*#ing awesome

I've deleted camera.txt and replaced the eboot then ran the game on my ps3 running 3.41.
It said it requires fw3.70 but will force start the game and will replace PARAM.SFO (can't remember the exact name but I think it was this file)
The game did not start at all, instead all my games from the Gaia manager list were gone.
I can still see the trophies and save files but I can't access to the hdd at all. I just try to install ftp pkg file on ps3 to access from my pc but it just said there is not enough space.
I've just made a thread here so if anyone knows the solution, please help me.

Tried almost everything. Running Hermes V4D with CFW 3.41 and still getting a "Glitch". Every time I die, the Music and Voice soundtrack go away and I can just hear the FX. It works again when I reboot but then I have to load everything all over again i.e. Exploit, Manager, Game
Debating finally switching to 3.55 KMEAW cause I'm so frustrated. Can anyone show me a good tut for that or actually have a solution? Any help is much appreciated cause I refuse to play this game on Easy.

search for something like this:
Uncharted 3 BCES PROPER Fix for CFW (REPACK)
then put the complete game-dir per ftp on internal hdd or split the big files and put them on fat32-usb-drive and then copy it to the internal hdd with multiman.. thats all..
start it with multiman and it runs without any freezes..

I am using 3.55 cfw and have backed up a copy of Uncharted US BCUS98233(about 39 gb) and tried two different patches on the same copy of the backup. An error came up everytime I PSCARC PAK.23 so i got a brand new copy of BCUS98233 and patched everything except for PAK.23 and attempted to play it internally. I used multiman and downloaded the save data(1.01) online from a jailbreak website. I changed the payload to hermes and then to standard and then to none. NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK. First few times the game started but didn't get past the part where the ring is spinning. Then after patching it for the 10th time I tried to play the game but a 80010017 error came up PLEASE HELP NO ONE ELSE WOULD!!!!!

i'd be really thankful if people who made it work could post some kind of summary of steps.
i've just downloaded a ripped version (27 gb) and it loads too slow (that ring makes me crazy, i've spent like 1 hour waiting at it)
do i have to download the full game again?
