The PS3 was released on the 11th of November 2006 in Japan, in that time we have had many exciting games, Fake Backup loaders, Real Backup loaders, Homebrew, lawsuits, PSN hacks and so much more, so to celebrate the PS3′s 5th birthday, i would like to hold this competition.
To Qualify you need to:

Own a PS3
Staff are also entitled to participate, i use a random number generator and record the process.

What I enjoy the most about my PS3 is the versatility. The ability to stream content over my network, play amazing games, subscribe to services such as Netflix, watch movies communicate with friends and listen to music is wonderful. It's truly a remarkable system despite the drama it's parent corporation has caused. On my second PS3, I enjoy the ability to play homebrew apps created by talented developers in the scene, play backups of my games, learn linux, and use it as a computer.

I enjoy the PS3 having a powerpc processor (like the Amiga had after the Motorola MC68000 series with powerpc boards) and the brilliant architecture concept of the whole console. If only it had a bit more memory and better $ony management it would be perfect

I like the fact that I have 3 PS3 consoles:
One with OFW so I can use my PS3 as described by the draconian laws of $ony
One with CFW so I can install emulators and backup my games
One with 3.15 OFW still with the original otheros support on it.
I like the fact that I have the best of both worlds, OFW with PSN, and CFW with homebrew support.
It's nice to have 2 PS3s, I dont have to post every time when there is a new news article, asking if it will help mod my OFW console to run backups because I was such a noob and installed OFW over 3.55
I like that I do not have to spend $90 on something like the E3flasher to downgrade my console and run dual boot. I like the fact that I will not be disappointed when I buy said E3flasher only to find that it doesnt support dual boot.
I like the fact that I can do all of this and shove it in $ony's face, cos I can do what I want with my console, thanks to all those devs who created those apps for us; that $ony cannot prove I agreed to their their TOS because an IP does not link to a specific person, so even if I sign their TOS I will not be bound by them.

I love using PS3's adhoc party to play psp games over the network and the fact that ps3 offets the most freebies over other consoles (I spent many hours on it without the need to spend a penny while I am still using the official FIRMWARE)

I love my PlayStation 3 simply because it is my complete media center. The fact that I can wirelessly turn on my PS3 and TV (through Bravia Sync) and am able to access my complete library of music, pictures, videos, and games (ranging from nes, snes, gba, ps1, psn, and of course ps3) all within mere minutes! Now that is amazing! To this day I am compelled to buy even more games both retail and online so my ofw 3.73 can also be put to full use. From a hardware perspective the fact that I can upgrade my hard drive, watch both up sacaled dvd's and bluray's without a noisy fan or disk drive leaves my entertainment needs at peace and without worries. If I don't feel like putting a disk in my drive I can easily utilize my Netflix account and stream hundreds to thousands of hours of movies and television shows! With the playstation 3 the possibilities are endless! Happy birthday PS3!

Well here comes a load of posts lol.
What i really enjoy is reading about new progress to do with the ps3.
I mean there are a thousand and one reasons as to why the ps3 is so good but it does what it does and not much more.
I do enjoy the games released just on this console but there seems to be less and less coming out now because of the whole "server hacking" syndrome.
The good points.

5. The Save Files (Unlocked)
6. HDMI
7. The Catch Up Tv Services,
Bad Points
1. Cannot Use Homebrew On OFW
2. Cinavia (WORST THING EVER!)
3. Lack Of Visulisations Within The Basic Media Player
4. Not All Systems Backward Compatible On OFW
5. The Lack Of Customization Within The System (EX. XMB During Game)
So while i have some good points i also have some bad more good to bad to be honest.
So thats what sums up my opinion and what i enjoy about the system.

Being able to write our own code and run it on it's native OS.
Not having to get up off the couch from my strange yet really comfortable position to try find a scratched/broken disk that I can no longer use.
Having a browser, no matter how basic.
Free online, sixaxis (when it's actually used), Move (Kinect is cool n all, but I prefer holding something)..
There are plenty of things I love about it, but it's such a shame that it's main downfall is updating..

I enjoy my ps3 because it's an amazing library of games from my past and my present. FIFA Soccer 95? No Problem. Uncharted 2? Done. Super MarioKart? In HD. The original Tenchu? Why Not.
The PS3 I feel, was a disappointment for the longest time. Mine gathered dust. But with some great new games (and a big push from this community!) It's turned into a box I couldn't live without!
Props go to the guys who paved the way and the devs who crank out homebrew for nothing but our enjoyment. Please keep it up :-)

Just to keep it simple, I enjoy the high level of maturity that psn offers. I also enjoy the fact it doesn't come with a mic which keeps majority of the annoying kids off of them, plus we have a lot of great exclusives, still think they could've slid Fable over to us >.<. Plus when my wallet is short and there's a nice distance till the next paycheck my and the psn is there

I enjoy that it's a cheap device that can run modern games, emulators, play all movies with Linux + mplayer, and with CFW I don't need to run over to it each time to switch discs anymore. (Which is a big hassle when my projector is in another room)
I also like that all peripherals like controllers, cameras etc. are standard such as bluetooth-HID or USB-HID, which means they work on my PC, and will continue to work the day I retire my PS3s.
I originally bought it to try Oblivion and Just Cause 2, and now eagerly waiting for the fix to be able to run Skyrim of which I bought the huge box on the first day.

I don't enjoy my PS3. Having to wait for long game installations, or slow updates, it's not what I like about console gaming. I use my PS3 more for watching blu-ray's or catching up on TV (even though that can be a pain with the PS3's $hit web browser). Am I still eligible for the comp'? :P

What I enjoy about my PS3 is everything. It is humanly impossible to describe how much I enjoy this device. I use it to listen to music, watch movies, and play games. With the recent breakthroughs, I am able to do a whole lot more. I am now able to play my favorite PS1 games on my PS3 using backups that I made sometime ago. This device truly does everything!

i love my ps3 because it allows me to boast to my friends about all the awesome things it can do, that the 17 xbox 360's in my fraternity house can't...
...play blue-rays, have awesome custom firmware, play online for free, get better graphics and loading times, battery-free controllers, and best of all...since its a fat console it functions quite well as a heater on cold, gaming filled days.

actually all you can say, is that you love the system for it's graphics and the history behind the system..it's been a solid system, with games!!!!..and you have to give credit, where credit is due..they secured the hell out of their system..but slacked on "other" areas...but gave a somewhat "free" network..as long as you upgraded..to be honest..their pros and cons even out..

I love the ps3, I've got two of them. I use one for all my homebrew and backups and one to go online. My hacked ps3 runs my own 3.55 cfw built from MFWBuilder with a few of my own scripts added. Its an 80gb fat thats been upgraded to 640gb. I'm always coding random crap for it and my xmb is nothing but customized (wave, theme, startup graphic and sound, font, whats new background/icon, etc etc). I love the fact that I can make dynamic themes from scratch now, especially since they work on both my ps3's. Anyway, I dont know what I dont like about the ps3... happy birthday playstation and good luck to everybody.

It is without a doubt the best purchase i have made in my life. I enjoy the complete home entertainment functionality of the PS3, music, movies, games, social interaction with friends and family fun. I love being able to go from playing solo in a strong story driven game like Uncharted 2, to playing a simple fun game like Magic Orbs with my wife. Also there seems to be a never ending amount of games coming out that i want both retail and digital. Not only good games as of late but the amount of exclusives is a wonderful treat for all PS3 owners. I think right at this moment is the best time to own a PS3 Sony may not handle a lot of things right, but when it comes to games and content there doin it right. Last but not least having a fat is just the best, so nice that i can swap out the HD whenever i want.

I enjoy gaming, sure I love online and have heard about xbl but I love the singleplayer experience brought by the ps3, from continuations of a series I've been playing on prior systems ( MGS 4) to new series altogether (uncharted series). Plus games such as littlebigplanet have also made me love the hardware for what it's capable of. I upgraded my 60GB to a 500GB because I love what my ps3 can do do much, that 60GB just ain't enough. Win or lose in regards to this competition, I still love my PS3.

Install Linux and use it as a computer? You've got it. Play blu-ray movies? you've got it. No other console on the market has capabilities as big as our beloved ps3.

In my opinion PS3 is way better than xbox360 because i never had any hardware failures with it, also playing games for the hd is way faster with cfw than playing games from a dvd. One thing i hate though is still you cannot play online with cfw all the games like xbox360.

What I like about my PS3, Hmmm? I bought it with LA Noir and wanted to play right away. So I updated whatever FW it was on to 3.6. DOH!! Ha! If I only knew then . . . Anyway, I started googling info about mod'n this bad maama jamma and happened across the ps3hax site. I have since become an addict. I am always on here checking for new stories and updates! In fact I sometimes do it several times a day. I actually feel sad when there is nothing new for awhile as I pathetically hit the reload or F5 button, lol! Anyway, even though I've been visiting for quite some time I only just now started as a member and would like to say that "What I like about my PS3" is that without it I wouldn't have found this site!

When the PS3 first got released in england (not exactly its first release date),i was heart broken as i wasnt in any posision to buy one,i was unemployed,jobs were getting harder to come by.it was the coolest,latest gadget.i wasnt interseted in XBOX,it was like a cold,it was everywhere and always pops up in the summer and at christmas.
i wanted the ps3 because of what it did,the games looked amazing (well only some at the time) and knowing that it could and would get better,the ps3 was capable of so much and it was an exiting time for the playstaion enthusiast and then some.
people was buying it just for the bluray palyer alone.
My oldest brother phoned me up one day to say he had one.i was really happy for him but i secretly hated him at the same time as i was jealous of him.then a catalogue came through the door some time later and i saw the ps3 with one joypad for 290, it was 310 in all the others). the limit i would of got was 300.so i wouldnt of been able to buy a game (oh ****).so my bro said he would buy me a game as an early bday prezzy,which wasnt for another 5 months,so i chosen RES5.
3 weeks later i was full of the cold and it was there,on my doorstep,all i had to do was sign.i rushed in,unpacked it and just looked at it.not wanting to turn it on,just happy to see that smooth sleek sexy black machine just sitting on its side next to my TV.
i was so exited,i turned it on,phoned my brother to help me set it up ( LOL arnt i the noob).and within afew hours hahaha joking,a few mins i was up and running.no game yet tho.
the first thing i did with it was watch the blue planet on a bluray.i was amazed that a game console could do this,i could go and ****load a TV episode,film anything even an album and listen to it on superstar dust HD or watch the earth on a screen saver,i could buy games online through there own services built in,hell..it was even a photo album.
then as time went by,still no job,couldnt afford any new games,didnt know that many people i could lend gamesfrom and already exausted my borrowing needs from others lol,i had a phone call saying do you want to be able to play .MKV on your PS3 and play games for free and cusomize your xmb ect.i was like "how the hell do i do all that???
he game me link to a website and said watch,read and shut the hell up or will miss it.something exiting is going to unfold very shortly.he never told me about his cobra he already had.
so i watched ,i read and i saw everybody going mental over this guy geohot.then warnings dont use this you will will get a brick.then came kmeaw.a CFW that worked,that i could work.it opened up my PS3 to do so much more.i could play GT5 hahaha,took awhile at first but i got there in the end with alot of help.
then there was homebrew,it was the best thing since the knife that sliced that first loaf of sliced bread.the emulators are like the butter.a great mix.
even to this day beleive it or not,i still dont know hardly anything about the ps3 haha.
there will always be a spot in my house (yes house,i haved on in my life now thanks to my ps3 lol) for my ps3.
3 years on and more gadgets have been in and out,my ps3 is still my pride and joy.
i love my ps3 and thats why i brought it..because i love it.

The PS3 is a great addition to my collection of modified devices. If I had to pick something specific I enjoy about it then it would have to be the design of the casing (even more specific the slim version). For what ever reason I find the overall look and feel of the PS3 extremely appealing. Especialy with the slims matte finish, the entire unit fits perfectly into my entertainment set up. Great work Sony and Happy Birthday!!

What do I enjoy about my PS3? There's the tonne of awesome games and some truly amazing first party titles. Then you have the excellent selection of home-brew including emulators that let me enjoy all the nostalgic arcade, 8-bit and 16-bit gaming goodness that I grew up with and the added bonus of playing them with my favourite controller. And to top it all off... the upgraded hdd that now lets me store all my favourite films & music.

I really enjoy the amazing line of exclusives on the PS3 and that fact that you watch amazing blu-ray movies on it. :D
