Lets try this again. We were contacted today by someone claiming as “an0n” with news about a leak containing various files including ObjectiveSuite. Although there are parts from old previous leak this recent one that surfaced has various new goodies that are new..including CEX to DEX conversion
. “an0n” claims that this can lead to 3.73 CFW (we are not saying that it will), but various other devs are saying different things. Speaking to a handful of other devs, there seems to be some use for it so clearly this is not for the end user, but these tools are being put out there for anyone who is interested to experiment with.
The following was pulled form previous news post about what “an0n” said about this release. There are some true facts in there but several unknown or unconfirmed by a handful of PS3 devs around the scene:

These files may harm your PS3. Do not even bother downloading if your a noob and play with these tools at your own risk. The files were originally packaged with a Trojan, which is why as explained here we pulled the story originally. However there still is some legitimacy in these leaked files so we are putting them out there.  The files have been cleaned and Trojan has been removed.

My thoughts:
* First : objsuites is just the old 2.43 leaked stuff + incomplete CEXDEX - meh, old news is so exciting :/
* Second : just someone wanting his minute wall of fame
* Third : ObjectiveSuites is not even related to decryption of files - especially 3.73
Facts:
* objectivesuites is used in service mode, just as downgrader and remarry
* only os3sig\ObjectiveSuites\xml seems deviant from cexdex
* afaik objectivesuites runs in lv2 and uses lv1 functions. that is why I don´t see the access to lv0 for it and certainly not the 3.73 part
* there is still the matter of servicemode - afterall, we don´t have a way to enter/exit it on 3.73
All in all :
I still have much doubts about it, both because of service mode, using objectivesuit and the source/person.

It's great that recently more and more tools/hacks/information is beginning to emerge that hopefully some devs will make something from this but until then most people should just be happy the 'scene' is moving forward, patience is what you all need and eventually you will be rewarded. Any of you shouting fake or banging on about CFW should take a breath an just give the devs some time. Flaming them gets us nowhere and is imo what is partly stopping people releasing there work.

Hate to say it, but I think it's important to point out. IF this does lead to a 3.73 CFW, people will be happy.... for a little while. Then when newer firmwares come out with new security and newer games start requiring it, everyone will be back to their old whining and complaining selves, and they'll long forget that this was ever done in 6 months. I think it's nice this has been done, but I also think it's nice to have the current capabilities of a PS3 at this point.

There WAS a trojan in the files, it has been identified and removed (just read the previous comments).
But the other files can STILL be harmful if not used with caution, not for your PC but for your PS3, so don't even download or try to mess with them if like me your dev skills equal zero minus infinity...

Be careful when playing with these files, you WILL brick if you try and convert (and don't know what you are doing). Not to mention they connect to sony's servers, so its pretty easy for them to see who's been messing about with them.

Well I am no expert or any thing but I had a look through the request_idps.txt and it appears to contain some or all of an eid with a Mexican idps, and one of the files in this release is named "Copia de request_wwcs_jig_data.txt".
Also, the files in the objcon folder are exactly the same as the one's from the drivefix folder in the cex-dex leak.

i seriously don't understand why folks come on here for negative comments. Let the devs do their thing and be patient, we've waited long enough. If you can't wait, go buy a dongle or if you are stuck on a higher firmware, well, buy an e3 flasher, there are plenty of ways you can still use your ps3. This is great news. I am glad i made the move here to ps3hax from another site. I wish i was as close to being as smart as the devs so i can help with cfw, but i will patiently wait and donate if need be. I've become quite cautious with using words like "never" especially in a hacking scene. It could be tomorrow that someone releases a cfw with psn capabilities. Just think back when the first cfw came out and everybody was oozing happiness.
Now a few months later everybody is like "oh yea cfw 3.55 sucks uuuh big whoop cant even play portal 2 or go on psn"
Why bother with making a new cfw when nobody's appreciating jack ****.
I'll tell you something if the new cfw gets released tomorrow you have people in the same thread complaining why this wont work with the cfw or that wont work or why doesnt my 3.55 eboot game patch itself automagically to work with higher firmwares or whatever wont work

Sometimes you guys generalize that the only people who want CFW are people on 3.55 wanting to play/pirate newer games. That is not the case with many of us out there. Me, for example, I got my console on 3.55 but did not know about the Jailbreak until 3.66. Now, i see people non stop assuming that the only people who want CFW are already on 3.55! There are people who have never had CFW and would like to get it if everyone stops the drama and other crap and just let the devs work

This has been floating around in my mind for quite some time..Lets say that, yes, we do find our keys. And yes, sony cannot do -anything-. Now, sure, -they- cannot ban you from PSN, but online games can ban your username (MW3 or BF3, for example.) Now, since sony cannot do anything drastic, like 360 can, you'd not lose much in losing your PSN name for cheating/hacking/exploits.. Now, fast forward a bit. The PS3 is basically the PSP. Hacks a plenty, ways to cheat games, exploits online (because there will -always- be 'that guy' who wants hacks in multiplayer)..Won't the PS3 be essentially screwed? Sure, they can ban the user's PSN, but it only takes a few mins to make another account. I mean, there's all sorts of things they could do to counter this (i'm assuming, at least. Say, ban someone's IP, or only allow so many PSNs from a particular playstation), but since it'd be the PSP all over again, we'd have a workaround. What i'm getting at is.. while it's nice to play our games, you gotta think about the big picture too. Once piracy is enabled, it leads to online. Once you can online and pirate, it leads to exploits. Sure, games can patch them out, but when you can read the PS3 like a book, what good will it do? Sony can't just toss out updates every single day, nor can a game. Iunno, forgive me if i'm missing something (and for the gigantic post), but i'm really concerned about what's gonna happen when we have everything we want. Because there's always going to be someone who wants more. (though, then again, in a year or so there's gonna be a PS4, and at the rate the current PS3 scene is going, we won't have the keys til PS4 is out, in which i figure most devs [aside the diehard PS3 ones] would go to that) >.>

well theres one thing for sure, if youre into cfw you need to know that psn access will work for just a few days until sony finds a way to reject the access like a fw update, if people think that they will get psn access forever, well hate to burst the bubble but thats for sure that you wont see it. if people is interested in PSN access they should update their console and buy a legit copy of the game, or just get a 2nd console for online gaming

Funny how those guys still believe GH gave them CFW. I guess they forgot (or never knew since they weren't here yet) that GH made a vid right after his hardware hack showing of CFW(unproven), but then disapeared for months till the PSjailbreak was released and reverse engineered. GH bragged and promised some more, did nothing and in the meanwhile KaKaRoToKS released the first CFW. Then GH came with his own CFW which was pretty useless and infiriour. Short after Mr Hotz dissapeared.
The only thing we owe to GH is the initial hardware hack that ticked off Sony,... but hmm... that hack didn't lead to CFW.
No one blames them for not being here at the start, no one blames them for only knowing what GH was bragging about on TV. But I do blame them for being ignorant and not reading about what really happened.
Newsflash guys: KaKaRoToKS and Mathieulh who you guys hate are the ones who gave you your CFW
oh yeah... I'm not saying GH isn't talented, but he hardly did anything for the scene

My opinion is that this doesn't look legit, sound legit or even seem to be legit. I have a good feeling that we might be there, but mabey not today or atleast not with this exploit. It's had a trojan implanted into it. That pretty much sums it all up. I've tried to follow every "News" the past few weeks here thus reading almost every Single post. I've come to the conclusion: 90% are flaming and hating, 9% are posts like "so we get CFW within the next 24 hours?", 0,9% are posts like "now has anyone tested this?" and 0,1% are REALLY important. So, 99% of all posts are USELESS, and I'm really getting tired of reading almost everyone of those posts, trying not to miss anything important!

I believe it might be very good for this website if only Members who have a special status, something like "dev" could post their results. 1- Osuites is a dangerous application, if you don't know what you are doing...
2- you need to be in service mode that you can't get in in 3.73
3- the sig file is however different than the one leaked when a idiot leaked the cex2dex converter
4- Osuites was mainly made to service machines, downgrade them and ultimately convert them.
5- previous actions do not require lv0 acess.
6- therefor this app has (most likely) no lv0 access

If all what you're saying you know for a fact is definitively true. ( which you obviously don't, see your own quote up there more specifically line 6 ) Then why do you as 'moderators' even bother posting this as front page news. You should instead keep it to yourselves, fully research it (that includes checking for malware ext...) Then make it front page news when you found something useful and when you can post what it will help to do definitively instead of "most likely". All you do is create a space for hundreds of people whining for pages on end. Plus the key point to this leak is NEW sig files. I was thinking if it is possible to emulate a jig in 3.55 in lv2patcher and on pc emulate in hosts file the sony IP that the program is looking for. We can inject anything you want if you reroute the sony IP to any LAN ip like 192.168.x.x. I don't know if that's possible. I have ti-84 capable programming xD, but I'm a pc techie LOL
