SKFU has been continuing his work on the PS Vita, during his tests, he discovered a flaw, here is what he says on is blog:

Since I finally have access to a retail PS VITA, today I started with some basic tests.

After a complete freeze of the system within the first 5 minutes after unboxing (*always happens to new consoles 4 me rofl*), I went on and noticed that there is a problem with the VITA’s encryption functions and was able to decrypt some test files directly via the system.

I will post updates as soon as I have news :)

the day the PS Vita was announced I knew it was going to be hacked so badly, Sony pissed off the hackers with OtherOS and other things, and the PSP was completely hacked, the Vita had a huge bullseye painted on it... can't wait to get one myself...

Don't buy it yet...at least wait for a bunch of good games to be released. If it is still easily hackable while supporting those games and going online, THEN you might consider buying it (if you don't care that you will be supporting Sony by doing so).

they got a hello world running on it, an emulator, the encryption on the PS Vita has been found to have flaws, if it's not hacked, it will be soon enough. remember the PS3 got hacked because there were issues with it's encryption as well...

Wouldn't it be best to hide from Sony? Just saying ,cause it will get patched & then what ?
No flaming just saying i know it is good news but what is the see exactly how to patch .. I am not buying PSvita but for the scene would be better kept until it is able to be of great use ..

Interesting, wonder what'll become of this. A mate is going over to the US around the time of the launch so I'll pick one up. In perspective the battery life isn't as bad as some say and the screen is gorgeous, so it should be a great little machine.

Something tells Sony may have done this on purpose to move units... Not that they won't try and patch exploits.

Does this mean CFW for 4.0 PS3s? :D

Yeah I am kidding. Also in the pic, on the left one near the centre on the right you can read it saying /eboot.bin, whilst on right one it's not readable. This is supposed to show that it's been decrypted as you can read the jargon on the left one.

Also if you do not want to support $ony but want a Vita, buy a second hand one. Hopefully in a year's time it will still be hackable, so come then buy a second hand one then pirate the games! :P Only down side of that would be the money the devs lose, but that's what this is about, making the Vita less profitable than the competition!

Back to top point, really do hope someone does it though.

Oh yes it does have PS3 keys... But not the ones we want, only the ones used for data transfer between PS3 and Vita

      Wow.
I wouldn't be surprised if they left these flaws in there to sell more units.
I still won't be getting one (used) for another 1.5~2 years.

      Shout out to SKFU!
