Btw what's the point of EBOOT fixing? Is it only for TB or what? For eg. can you fix 3.xx/4.xx games for 3.55?

is it just a way to get them working on 3.41 or something?

i only know that the eboot works with the sfo file to load the game some how, I picked this up allong the way. not sure how they work together but am interested in knowing like you. I know the sfo can be edited to get an blus game to work with bles and vise vera by simple edit but not sure what eboot edit does for ps3. But i know you can easily edit psp eboots. What is the function of the eboot?

Building packages is great
I been messing around building game modded packages for myself, with PsDev's PS3Tools GUI Edition recently. looks like [MENTION=209397]PsDev[/MENTION] has to step up his tool to generate auto proper .conf for all package types when using different PARAM.SFO's, files like this tool does. Also vs PsDev's PS3Tools GUI Edition -> If i want to use original PARAM.SFO with a update patch i have to make/edit the .conf to be proper or it fails/errors on generating pkg . PsDev tools still do a great job but for making your own config it is a little more difficult to understand if you did not make one or mess with PARAM.SFO
It does not modify the PARAM.SFO or ask me to fix .conf for different package types/PARAM.SFO's.

I just extracted / tested a PSN game . This tool auto generates the package.config = means i don't need to worry to edit the .conf no more for PARAM.SFO types -EXAMPLE-> DiscGamePatch to match the PARAM.SFO -> /GD/HG,etc . Since it auto generates the package.conf there is no conflict with PARAM.SFO
I tested both ,i been using PsDev's PS3Tools GUI Edition for my EBOOT.BIN's + update patch packages. now for AS-TOOLS Flawless ! For those who always wanted to create you own packages ,if you understand how they work = they are both good but now for PSN this is a great tool to repack ,easy as pie ! Extract psn game ,Just replace the fix files in package then check off (package.conf) build . easy

Split pkg are easy ,to be honest. When you combine the pkgs you only are combining the missing parts. only files that get overwrite is the ones i said cause it is ok they are the same .. There is nothing different that creating split folders on pc .
I think this is kinda what you were wondering ?

all the other releases I´ve seen are normally one pkg and then the update pkgs. they also normally make the fix as a seperate pkg.

but why not as one? wouldn't that ultimately make it the easiest? the way merging pkgs was explained, it sounds like if you build the pkgs yourself, it'd almost be easier to make one with the update merged in the pkg

I was hoping this could convert Prototype's EBOOT.BIN to a EBOOT.ELF, but it crashed every time. I figured another program had already done that, so maybe I can make its EBOOT.ELF into a EBOOT.BIN. It crashed every time again. The light bulb in my head has died again.

Actually [MENTION=209397]PsDev[/MENTION] tools are excellent, but can not decrypt npdrm , neither can ASToolPS3 V2.3 .At least i did not try wit my extra tools
I think very few know about certain things & i feel happy i am one of these people . I worked harder reading on ps3devwiki for restless hours to learn what i wanted to do. I searched everywhere for info, until i succeeded/improvised. I felt more happy than getting a hand out to be honest
The things i learned in the last few weeks ,makes me want to learn more about the ps3 ..I luv hacks ! I am addicted ! I need to go to (ATHA) AKA- Addicted/To/Hacks/Anonymous

I've managed to decrypt Prototype's eboot with CMP Auto Tools. The problem is that there is no way to change it back to a working EBOOT.BIN. It was something I tried to figure out months ago. I know how to do the decrypt/re-encrypt thing just fine, I post codes I find at the CMP forums. It's just Prototype is an unusual exception. It's file size gets cut down to less than half of what it started as, and the game never starts because it got messed up.

I tried a simple .pkg extraction (of TheCatachthonic v0.9) and it didn't seem to work.
it made a folder for the extracted files but that's it.
