PS3HaX member nathan_r32_69 has released a tool , which lets you dump your IDPS, it also gives you various information on your PS3, like motherboard revision, here is a quote from the thread:
I’ve created this tool based on research I’m doing and had not planned release out yet, but if someone need it here it is (Thanks to J-Martin for the logo)
What does this tool?
- Displays the IDPS
- Shows Target ID
- Displays Motherboard revision
- Save your IDPS in IDPS.bin file
When the program starts you will see the typical intro screen, if you choose “Yes” you will see the data from your PS3, if sounds three beeps indicates that it was not possible dump and show the error message, and if all went well sounds a beep and you are able to see the data
Automatically saves the IDPS in dev_hdd0/IDPS.bin, you must open it with a hex editor and look hexadecimal values, for example (IDPS false, I will not reveal my IDPS):
e.g Notepad
Code:.....…..‡.¤MGdöªHex Editor
Code:00 00 00 01 00 85 00 05 87 15 A4 4D 47 64 F6 AAThe IDPS in this case would be:Â 00 00 00 01 00 85 00 05 87 15 A4 4D 47 64 F6 AA
It has been tested on PS3 FAT, in SLIM should work perfectly too

Each step closer to getting CEX to DEX is always great news. At least now people will not be terrified to try and dump the IDPS. I know people will argue that a DEX unit is worthless to the home user, but I disagree. If this conversion becomes possible then it means many more devs will be able to get DEX units, and therefor there could be potentially more and better homebrew

no, that is not what I mean, sure it is your work, but sometimes devs are making tools like mallory and no one recognize it. Thanks a lot for your hard work. I like it.

your work is very much appreciated nathan! what about an IDPS writer XD
where you would modify the file IDPS.bin creted on the HDD by your tool, and after modifying it, you would replace your own idps...

right that, so its writing to the write spot, you still need to decrypt the EID, and also uh apparently the IDPS is encrypted...
thanks for your work nathan.

you could already get to know you idps without this tool via multiman (cobra edition at least),and of course via linux(if you know hoaw).but its always nice to see more aspiring devs code and release their work to the community.

Did somebody notify that, and I quote here:
"(IDPS false, I will not reveal my IDPS):" is hidden behind the red rectangle (see picture)
How remarkable, the IPDS is fully shown underneath!
00 00 00 01 00 85 00 05 >"87 15 A4 4D 47 64 F6 AA"
Hmmm.....

reading idps will get you pretty much nowhere... writing idps to eid0 will also get you nowhere, if you plan on attempting to write idps to eid0 and eid5 i hope you have a good backup of your flash and a flasher handy cus your gonna need it.
As previously mentioned someone wrote a changed idps to eid0 which of course got fixed by re-installing the firmware this was fixable because eid5 was not modified.
anyways, good luck on your future efforts

You can also make a LV1 or LV2 dump via mmOS / File Manager, and get it using my getConsoleID tool on the PC (which has also a "save as binary file" option)

Get Idps works for Rebug REX 421-430
Get.Idps.REX.421-430.pkg
Connect USB flash drive in 2nd slot closest to BD
Run get idps from XMB & it will dump to USB just like 355.
Tested by me on Rebug 430.2
