PS3/PS Vita developer SKFU has released an application, with the help of his fellow coder iQD, have released a PC PSN client, here is a quote from the source:
Good evening, everyone!
Proudly I present you my newest application “PSN Infinity v2“.
Since in most news posts my genius co-coder iQD is forgotten, I have to mention him for his great help on this application here once again.
This version is released as public beta. Completing the app and including all functions I want it to have will take several weeks but the main function aka browsing the PSN stores is already working.
This is the first time I force a donation alert in an app, but necessary as this program is a very huge and time consuming project.
So if you like this beta, please donate a small amount to give me some more time to work on this nice project
I will give you a sneak preview about the functions I focus to add soon:
- 100% PSN PC client
- linux and MAC version
- finish the search function
- download PKG for guest account
- add comic & video stores support
- activate/deactivate your consoles remotly
- complete account management on PC (like on PS3)
- change your PSN Online ID (like in japanese region accounts)
- bring back PC to PS3 messaging (if we’ll ever get xi-passphrase back)
- etc etc etc…

Sorry for my ignorance, but what exactly is this? From what I read, it acts as a PSN client and lets us download PSN games from PC to PS3 without a hassle. I may be entirely wrong though.

It's also not really clear to me, because if this is a real PSN client for the PC (which means you can browse the PSN store etc from the PC) this would mean, the same method could be used on a CFW/Homebrew enabled PS3.. yeah I know it's easier to develop such a thing on the PC with all the available graphics components as creating it on the PS3, but for how long will this work anyway..
**hmm.. reading the article a bit better now, I think this IS meant to be worked into a PS3 homebrew PSN variant.. thanks SKFU for the great work, because this ain't easy stuff to figure out..

Hello all one question.
I can log in fine but it crashes after clicking ps3 store.I tried run as admin etc..
Also i am windows 7 ultimate 64 bit and i installed both open ssl and 2008 redimicrosoft 2008 microsoft 2008 redistributable any help apreciated thanks.

So I installed OpenSSL and VC. Logged in but can't see anything to browse. I click on PS3 store but get nothing, zero.
How's this supposed to work? Do I have to check Activate before logging in?
EDIT: Well I logged in as Guest with Activate checked and it worked. Still doesn't work for my account though.

Install 32bit version. Looks like the app fakes the console ID and uses some hard coded passwords from PS3 to connect.

I REEEEEALLY want to like/be excited about this, but there's not a lot of clarification on exactly what it does/how useful it is. Take note, I'm NOT salting the developer (VERY much appreciate your efforts SKFU and however they pay off), I'm simply asking for a better explanation, be it from the developer or the editor, on a more detailed analysis of its function.
For example, right now it seems like (just spitballing, and poorly) this might be illegal? I remember hearing a while back that logging into the PSN without authentication from the server was akin to hacking?
ALSO, does this allow the purchasing of new content from the PSN store, or just the re-downloading of our already purchased content? And if that's the case, could I log in through a friends PSN account, download something they paid for on a RETAIL legit OFW PS3, and then download it onto my CFW PS3?
That said, I'm VERY excited to see where this goes (As I currently cannot test it, not at home), and hope that it brings us great things to a somewhat infrequently updated scene. Very appreciative of your work so far devs.

Alright guys, all this does is let you connect to the PStore, and let you download the games of off it. Now, atm it is NOT possible to download due to it not being piracy enabled, but IT CAN be used for piracy.

I want to use this to legitimately buy psn content, and maybe reenable my ps3 to use iplayer and itvplayer etc.
Honestly, if it does this, I can quite happily say that I don't need an up to date cfw.

It's kinda like Sony's media go. You can log into your PSN account and browse the store from PC. That's all it does.

a while back i dl paday demo to my ofw ps3 and later i dl the full.
when i dl payday from the app, it gave me a pkg that was dl to fast to be a game so i extracted it.
the pkg is basiclly a fix .pkg with a full-key.edat in the USRDIR folder.
the game is 3.60 so no go!

I read through the posts and don't believe I saw anything. I am wondering if I download my already purchased PSP games (since they download in .pkg format) would I be able to copy them to my Vita that way? I want to play Peace Walker and it is known that it will play on the vita if downloaded onto a PS3 then copied because if it's downloaded on Media Go or PSP it downloads with the Eboot.bin which is useless for Vita.
Sidenote: I'm testing it now, it will just take a while to download. If I don't have any sort of confirmation I'll let you know.
UPDATE: I tried on 3 different computers 3 times each and the download fails at 36% each time. I tried with Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories as well and that failed at 32% each time as well. Hopefully it works in the near future!

i have found a way to get god links from this app if you have purchased or is on your ofw dl list.

even if dl fails the app will still dl catagory, product, and purchase.dats

I noticed somethink.While i click a game the files that are in the folder which the program [infinity] is located change.I till now have seen the product.dat to change whenever i click a new game.Also i noticed that many times after clink the download pkg it will crash.Or if it dont it will say imposible to download.

if you extract infinity.zip to a folder they will save there.
however they will overwrite each time, so save them after each time you dl with the app.

This would be an amazing app if it would actually download something useful. I've tried downloading legally purchased stuff but all it downloads is category.dat purchase.dat and product.dat.
Imagine if it would actually download the game.pkg or at least the much needed act.dat, then it would be VERY useful. Hoping to see this progress...

Yup, that should get rid of that error. Just remember atm this can only download pkgs that the account you are using has already attained from PSN. Dont expect to be able to download everything and anything
