Well Sony, i will refer to you like as an individual or person (to make it more easy to read) but you are a big enterprise ergo a Big boy.
I know im a number on your design board.

But you know what? :
I will remark what i’ve done for you as a consumer of your products and what you do for me as company.

1) Buy your system to then have OtherOS option removed:

I can relate to that, i can feel that you were afraid about the option of installing an open source SO was annoying to you.
Hence you was *harmed* by that open source, and then what did you do?.
Close your doors and not anyone to enter your *world*.

2) Get *fresh* titles to play in PSN:

At first i was happy to play online with my friends and almost forgot the option that you removed because you wanted so. (I respect that).
But then PSN was hacked back on 2011, since then i can trust you anymore.
Im not angry, im just disappointed by the fact that private data saw the light and got in hands of users with dubious intentions.

In fact hence what happened i was *naive* enought to keep using PSN.

3) Get nice and cool content on my PS3 connecting to PS3 Store:

Shame that i don’t live in US or UK to get access to the nice features that PSN has.
It’s a shame too that not even a decent browser was placed or programmed since the one i have it’s very rudimentary. I can’t even see the youtube videos that i love in HQ.

4) I even bought more original games:

With the sad story, that the franchises you have are getting more *slim* as the time passes. I think you know what multiplataform means?.
Or im the one who is seeing something is wrong here or it seems that you are blind, but not like that lady with the scale. Just blind by your own means, you don’t want to see.

5) Homebrews:

Why i can’t have them?, you allow dongles like TRUE-BLUE (and clones) to plug in your own system that condones piracy and still i see nothing happened to them.
But instead you shutdown with your TOS among other things any possibility to run Homebrews with a lame reason that Homebrews are in fact an act of piracy but not the dongles.
Sometimes you are too silent, don’t know why..

6) Secure, Insecurity:

If you are so insecure, don’t make me feel that way too. Since i know you have flaws (many to count them) but i will be a bad friend if i tell them all.
I know how to keep secrets and im a person with moral values bue seems that you don’t know or you like to play ignorant on this topic.
Instead you give me IMPERATIVE updates just to secure yourself, not to secure my privacy/data/saves/trophys/psn games/etc.

This is how i feel about you:
You being blinded by some reason that i don’t care but still i buy your products.
You even don’t let my install my ORIGINAL backups on my OWN PS3 system and my OWN hardrive. (Microsoft has that option for his users).

You are being rude, and stubborn.
But i love you.
And i always will, because you gave so many material to play with and then removed, restricted, and censored it because you wanted that way.

Im not mad, but being honest sometimes it’s not hard so i can tell you with clean conscience that i don’t understand you and i think i will never will.

Sincerily yours.

A PS3 User.

The problem with Sony, is that all the old guys that made the company great, are all gone and have been replaced by arrogant young *******s.

They don't care about letters and petitions, they don't want to listen to their loyal customers, even though the company has been suffering financially quite bad for about two years now.

Sony bring back the days of the PS1, bring back Ken Kutaragi from the banishment you put him on, remove all non Japanese staff from high positions and replace them with Japanese staff who are over 60 years of age and just maybe you will save a company that used to be awesome.

That's the sad thing though.

Like Greg says, it is because they don't care anymore that they are losing so much, and Yes, it Is mainly down to the way they are running things now.

It used to be Sony Japan had the ultimate say in what and how they did things, but now it just seems like the American branch is making all the choices and they are f*cking it up big style because they refuse to get their heads out of their arses and admit they are useless at running a company.

I know they won't read this xD sad but true but it's nice to do some *chit chat* text. There are far worse issues more important than a letter to $ony but i felt compeled to write it. They won't listen not even in a court...so in that area i rest my case.
But i think it's cool from time to time, remember how ****ed they are and how they **** us the consumers.

Going to court with them it's like this:

That trueblue part... While I do agree that TB has exploited the free knowledge of the scene, and Sony have raped/sued many PS3 hackers such as geohot, graf, failoverflow but not the TB guys... I doubt the case is that they allow dongles like trueblue and accept them... The problem is probably more that as soon as something stems from/is tracked back to China, it becomes almost impossible to trace it anywhere further, whether you want to or not. It's ****ed up, yea.
It would seem from the other thread about here, regarding the new TB dongle firmware, that they are trying to take measures to stop them actually, by changing the structure of the eboot.

My 2 cents.. I'm just thinking.. no reason to piss on the bonfire next to the house... Its too far away from the house to set it on fire, but if it wasn't, it gladly would set it on fire. I don't want it to intensivate so it can reach the house. Now, I don't mind TB being inside, but I cant help but think more of the scene would be hit/be inside.

If we one day manage to crack TB, it would be sad if we had pissed them off to the extent that the exploit had been patched, and we couldn't use it anymore. Then we would be back to point zero for the general user in here.

Either or to be honest. There is no fixed rule grammatically.

It's more a case of who you are addressing, rather than what you are saying in cases like this.

"You was" is more informal and is more of a direct statement of someone's circumstance or emotion, whereas "You were" is more formal.

It's also a cultural thing as Americans seem to favour were over was, and a lot of that seems to come from was feeling 'blunter' and more 'common' than were.

Go figure though, it's English lol

Everytime I see Sony tanking I do a little happy dance and think karma does happen, they stole OtherOS from us, ever sine then I've cheered quietly when bad things happen to Sony. Sony was once a great company and I never could see myself buying a 360 but after what Sony did I don't trust Sony worth a damn.

Everytime Sony announces a new product that sounds awesome, the first thought I have is , wait until they start disabling features they no longer like. when they do it won't be Sony's problem it'll be the people that paid their hard earned money only to get crewed over. I do everything I can to avoid giving my money to Sony...

hellsing's a much better man than I, I was close to being a fanboy, and only reason I won't count myself as one is because I would respect the fact that not everybody liked playstation products, and that they (PS products) were not infallible. Now? well now I'm overjoyed any time I see news of sony doing bad, maybe I'm being petty... but whatever, I never claimed to be the virtuous type.

I would love it, if the fact sony is doing so bad is because people have decided to stand up to them. Would I like to buy a vita, yes I would, it seems like a nice system, but I'm not a masochist. I won't continue buying ps gear only to get raped by sony whenever they deem it necessary to protect themselves.

The pirates that they are so eager to get rid off probably never gave them $0.01, as opposed to people like me; I have bought upwards of 50 games for each of their consoles, not to mention I always buy a ton of accessories. I buy my consoles early on the, ps3 being the one I waited the most since I got it with the release of MGS4, but still they wanted to get rid of me... ironically the pirates are still there.

Of course, I have pirated a more games than I have bought, BUT I've never beat a game I haven't bought. By this I'm trying to outline a bad game is a bad game whether it's free or $60, and I don't do bad games. On the flip side, if I like a game enough to beat it, I certainly like it enough to buy it. Even if I could pirate I still made some mistakes, Beyond the Beyond for the ps1, Onimusha Warlords for the ps2, and Untold Legends for the psp... all these games I wish I would have played before shelling out full price for them.

Anyways, whatever, I'm just glad sony is taking a hit, they so deserve it.

Me too am quiet sad about this, but they put themselves into this pile of bull****.

Ken Kutaragi had already performed a hara-kiri (or is in plans of doing so). If I remember correctly, the problems started way back upon the PS2 Slim release. Why?, because that release removed the chance to plug in a hard drive (hence, you will no longer be able to play games like FFXI).

With the PS3 happened exactly the same, the original release was simply perfect: it had full backwards compatibility, multi-card reader and SACD. Who cared about a 60 GB drive if you could just simply change it (with no firmware restrictions like happened in later firmware releases)?.

I hope:

• They remove their actual staff from office.
• Recover/rebuild the Sony Computer Entertainment division as it was in the 5th-6th generation eras.
• Use their ****ing lawyers to make strong contracts between the developers for the exclusives instead of sueing the customers (the developers bypassed Sony A LOT with the franchises).
• Think with the gamers/costumers and not against them.
• Don't announce features to later remove them (the costumers really hit Sony when it started to circulate the rumour that the PS Vita was going to have 256 MB of memory instead of the 512 MB announced, now the Vita is as it was to be).
• If they were to release firmware updates, better release only features and/or critical updates (like the hard drive bug with 3.56.2, not the undisclosed ****ty "minor security fixes").

Sorry for extending so much with this post, but the Playstation marked my gaming life, pretty much like the Nintendo/Clones and the Genesis/SNES eras. It's so sad to see this amazing ship founder, if it's going to finish at least let it finish with dignity and full glory.

Yeah just about the only way I would buy another playstation product is if the whole board of executives is forced to commit seppuku... ok or they can simply be fired. I don't want anything to do with anyone involved in the decision to remove OtherOS, and for that I can blame the janitors, the assembly line workers, or the receptionists.

Well I won't hold it against anybody who buys used games ONLY. That I think it's even more messed up than pirating stuff, cause there they really did lose money.

To name Sony's problem with a sort phrase is:

They don't know what and who is good or bad to them.

Examples:

1.They fire superlow-income people from factories etc that they (Sony) are in need of their work yet they keep superhigh-income people like Publicists/Managers that not only they dont know how to do their job right and they cause huge harm to the company (obviously by the results) but they cost to them 30-50 times the money to get paid from the amount they would pay the people they fired. It's like paying for getting raped.

2.As for Playstation products the problem is one. As all companies, they try to fight piracy right? Well the problem is for another time Sony does not know what's right and what's wrong , who's a friend and who's a foe. Why? Check the situation right now. They claimed that all these (shame/crime) acts they did were to protect their company and products from piracy right? Well, what I see now is that everyone responsible for nothing related to piracy is in trouble and everyone responsible for piracy is free doing his job without a shame or something to stop him, which I may add, I find it super intresting.

To me this company is doomed, especially with that guy as a CEO, it just couldn't get worse, really don't expect things to get better, atleast not in the near future...

Here is the fixed/re-worded/revised letter, as promised, Hellsing9! Hope you like it!

Well Sony, I will refer to you as an individual or person (to make it more easy to read) but you are a big enterprise, ergo, a big boy.
I know I'm a number on your design board, but you know what?

I will state what I’ve done for you as a consumer of your products and what you've done for me as a company.

1) Buy your system to then have the OtherOS option removed:

I can relate to that, I can feel that you were afraid about the option of installing an open source operating system was annoying to you.
Hence you were *hacked* by open source, and then what did you do?
Close your doors and not let anyone enter your "world".

2) Get *fresh* titles to play on PSN:

At first, I was happy to play online with my friends, and almost forgot the option that you removed because you wanted so. (I respect that)
But then the PSN was hacked back in 2011, after that, I can't trust you anymore.
I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed by the fact that private data wasn't encrypted and stored in plain text and got in hands of users with dubious intentions.

In fact, I was *naive* enough to keep using PSN.

3) Get nice and cool content on my PS3 connecting to PS3 Store:

Shame that I don’t live in US or UK to get access to the nice features that PSN has.
It’s a shame too that not even a decent browser was designed or programmed since the one I have isn't very rudimentary. I can’t even see the YouTube videos that I love in HD.

4) I even bought more original games:

With the sad story, that the franchises you have are getting more *slim* as the time passes. I think you know what multi-platform means?
Or am I the only one who is seeing something wrong here? It seems that you are blind, but not like that lady with the scale. Just blind by your own means, you don’t want to see.

5) Homebrews:

Why I can’t have them? You allow dongles like TRUE-BLUE (and clones) that enables piracy on your system and still I see nothing happened to them.
But instead you shutdown with your TOS and privacy policy among other things, any possibility to run homebrews with a lame reason that homebrews are, in fact, an act of piracy but not the dongles.
Sometimes you are too silent, and I don’t know why.

6) Secure, Insecurity:

If you are so insecure, don’t make me feel that way too. Since I know you have flaws (many to count them) but I would be a bad friend if I mention them all.
I know how to keep secrets and I'm a person with moral values but it seems that you don’t know or you like to play ignorant on this topic.
Instead you give me USELESS MANDATORY updates just to secure yourself, not to secure my privacy/data/saves/trophies/PSN games/etc.

This is how I feel about you:
You being blinded by some reason that I don’t care about, but still I buy your products.
You even don’t let my install my ORIGINAL backups on my OWN PS3 system and my OWN hardrive. (Microsoft has that option for his users).

You are being rude, and stubborn.
But I love you.
And I always will, because you gave me so much material to play with and then removed, restricted, and censored it because you wanted it that way.

I'm not mad, but being honest isn’t hard so I can tell you with a clean conscience that I don’t understand you and I know I never will.

thanks vgturtle127 now it's better but in some point i wanted the letter to *sound* a little childish. For example was pure raw text, since i don't even quote the TOS or give more data about that on the letter i wrote.

It's a way to say, you messed with me and im so stupid that i keep buying your products in a *friendly* manner.
Personally i don't hate $ony but i hate the way they move, the things they done. It's worst than any other (Microsoft monopoly).
So i said to myself...well since there are so much *news* about the dongle, why don't spread some words on an empty .txt with broken english.

$ony it's harder and harder to understand. Still wonder why...

Still it's my point of view towards them (maybe not very mature) but if someone feels the same, i think i achieved my objective.

So, f**k you Sony, you'r not getting my money anymore!

And i wish you all the worse What you give is what you get You give us nothing and sue us, i will buy nothing from you too

Sometimes not buying their products it's the best way to say *im against what you do* look how samsung made some HUGE progress with android and their phones/tvs (they are not so clean either).

But if you against some brand or product, it's better not buy it. It's the best way or more simple way to *debunk* them.

It's a shame, because Sony may actually release the best product ever, but if they are going to act like they did lately, then screw them.

I miss the PS1/PS2 ages, they really marked the gaming entertainment with amazing titles and excellent quality products. Now, the are walking to their doom (expecting to save themselves with the Vita, let's see what happens there).

Well the amount of Vitas I have seen up for sale shortly after being bought, and some at a big price drop does not look good for it.

Consider it an editorial; in a community, others' opinions have some importance.

Nah. It's a open letter that was frontpaged, not reason given. Sometimes it's ok to create random *old/news* to not fall into the rutine of posting more and more news from another sources.

Really?. We will have to see what happens this year's Holiday Season, I have a feeling that Nintendo will win the next battle again.

Sony is just following the new trends. The consumer is always wrong. Loyalty is not important. Hardcore fans are not important. Corporations are above the law

I sure wish people weren't as complacent as they seem to be. I wouldn't think about buying more sony stuff, and it's beyond me how people are willing to give these guys $$ after how they've treated us.

Now, I understand that all these companies are... well they deserve to go to hell, to be satan's homosexually punished waitress (think hitler in South Park LOL!), so I'll admit we do have to give these ******s a break, but in sony's case they need to fire everybody with decision making rights for me to forgive them. MS despite what it did, or didn't do (namely make a console that could last 3 days) did right by me when they offered the extended warranties; not ideal, nor makes you forget the blunder, but it's acceptable. Ninty?... well they're just adamant about making me spend time helping a mustache and it's attached plumber rescue some princess which I think has a reptile fetish, that's bad in it's own creepy way.

I feel the same way, man.
