For those of you still playing, Uncharted 2, you can get all the games DLC for free from PSN, at the moment its US only, here is some information:

If you have managed to stay away from Uncharted 2′s DLC for this long, then now might be the time to download it. Why? Because as of today, all of Uncharted 2′s downloadable content is FREE to download on PlayStation 3.
As part of Sony’s PlayStation Store update, all of the past add-on content for Uncharted 2 costs nothing. This includes Drakes Fortune Multiplayer Pack (previously $2.99), the Golden Gun Pack (previously $0.99), the PlayStation Heroes Skin Pack (previously $2.49), the Sidekicks Skin Pack (previously $1.49) and the Siege Expansion Pack (previously $2.99).
Hopefully this move persuades those who haven’t yet had a chance to play the second game to go pick it up. After all, you should play it before you experience the epic-ness of Uncharted 3.
Drakes Fortune Multiplayer Pack contains six skins namely UDF Drake, UDF Elena, Eddy Raja, Javier, Atoq Navarro and Gabriel Roman. It has two large set maps, The Facility and the Flooded Ruins, from Uncharted: Drakes Fortune title. In addition, the game has 12 PSN trophies and 13 medals.

Golden Guns Pack contains gold skins for the AK-47 and Beretta weapons.

PlayStation Heroes Skin Pack contains Sev and a Helghast soldier from Killzone 2. It also has Resistance series Nathan Hale and Chimera, and Coles together with Zeke of inFamous.

Siege Expansion Pack contains the Siege co-op multiplayer mode, two multiplayer maps, ten bronze PSN trophies and one silver PSN trophy. It also has six character skins, two of which are from Uncharted: Drakes Fortune.

Sidekick Skins Pack contains six alternate appearances of previously available characters, plus two new villain skins Dillon and Mac.

Its almost that time of the year, the most awesome time in a gamers year, the time when new consoles are debuted and new games are showcased, that time im talking about is the spectacular E3 Expo.

During the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th of June we will see the best from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo as well as videos and playable games from some of the worlds greatest game publishers, Sony have already started their countdown, you can view it here:
    http://us.playstation.com/e3-2012/

So what do you think we will see this year at E3 ?

Nintendo showing of the Wii U ?
Sony Introducing a new Games console, or just a huge amount of PS Vita information ?
    or
Microsoft introducing a new console ?

Whatever happens, i am quite exited :)

Still playing around with the good ole’ PS2? A modder known as “reprep” has managed to unlock games at 4:3 ratio to 16:9 via Codebreaker cheat system.

    To quote:

Lately on PCSX2 forums widescreen hacks for playstation 2 games started to emerge.

They are done by built-in game cheat option of pcsx2.

you can easily go to the thread by googling “pcsx2 widescreen game patches”

A user on that thread implied it can be done on real ps2 too.

I tried codes for final fantasy x and after a long struggle i finally managed to enable this widescreen hack on a real console.

the PNACH files of pcsx2 contain RAW codes. Codebreaker 9.3 accepts raw codes as long as the master code is raw (not CB encrypted) too.

You can google the game id to find the master code and get the widescreen raw code from the pcsx2 thread i mentioned above. There are ways to manually find these widescreen codes but i don’t have enough info on the subject.

The aim of this thread is to find out how many of these codes can be used on a real PS2, as they are discovered on pcsx2 and meant to be used on an emulator.

I have confirmed FF X NTSC-J International to be one of them.

A working game report should be like

    A) Name and id of the game

    B) What program used (For example Codebreaker 9.3 (HDL patched) etc)

    C) The launching method of the game (Original disc, backup with help of modchip, ESR backup, OPL, HDL)

    D) The code layout

I will find the working codes and add them to the first post.

EDIT: I noticed i didn’t explain this hack properly. It makes originally 4:3 games, 16:9. But it is real 16:9 not just stretching 4:3 to 16:9 like TVs do. There might be some glitches or some static backgrounds might stay in 4:3, but so far FFX looks good and the screenshots for other games i saw were great.

Software developer KDSBest has just recently released, his SPU x86 Emulation tool, here is a quote from the source:

    Hi Community,

I wanted to contribute to the scene , so I coded a tool that might help the community our members and fellow dev’s.
This Tool is intended for dev’s so please be careful if you don’t know what you do.
I will not be held responsible for any harm
My tool is a emulator for PS3 modules (e.g metldr), it is in pre alpha stage but I thought, it would be great to get some community feedback.
    How to use:
Not all SPU Commands are implemented yet, but it is easily extendable and I will make it support DMA, all SPU Commands and SPU Mailbox soon.

First open a .kds file. Check out the metldr.kds to see an example. The rest is like a normal debugger.
If you put dumps of your reversed functions in the KnownFunctions folder, it will detect it and mark that function for you.

Just for example Mark the whole cellSpuAesDecryptCbcCfb128 function in HexView in IDA -> Right Click -> Save to File
Name the File “cellSpuAesDecryptCbcCfb128″ without extension and copy it to the KnownFunctions Directory of the Emulator. Now all similar functions get automatic detected!

“Step” Executes next command, “Run” runs till breakpoint (Breakpoints are not implemented yet).
    Debug SPU Code in Windows.

    Any questions?
Just get back to me at twitter

    Stay tuned

    KDSBest

PS: Thx for MK and cfwprophet (Team acid)
and of course to fail0verflow for anergistic, which helps alot with it and even uses some functions of them.

One of the biggest plugins of the Year for Showtime is Navi-X. With this plugin, the limit is your imagination.

Astonishing, right? You never heard of Navi-X? No problem, there's a time for everything. To quote:
"Navi-X is a 'content aggregator' app that provides access to all kinds of multimedia content, listed on a public directory of user contributed listings or playlists for playing on your TV or PC! Users can link to content and playback video, audio, pictures, podcasts, text, rss and html on the internet and share it with people around the world in seconds! Create fully customizable playlists with backgrounds, logos and icons as well as link to your favorite multimedia on the internet or browse the already existing directory of publicly available content, in one sleek, fast and unified application!"

During the development time of the plugin, Tyrant was valuable, giving important feedback about what was correct and what was wrong. He knew already Navi-X and that allowed a faster development of the plugin. As of his experience with it, he says to new Navi-X users:
"Navi-x is awesome once you get to know all the directories and content."
And after Beta Testing the plugin, Tyrant states that "Navi-x is the one and only solution in Showtime PS3 to watch movies, livetv, pictures and listen to music! A must have!"

You may ask, What are the features of the plugin? Here it is:

    – PLX Playlists
    - RSS Playlists
    - Flickr XML
    - Video/Processors:
    – If a processor fails (gives error different than "This processor is empty, nothing to do…") add an entry to a local store that must be sent to facanferff
    – TMDB For movies

    - Item Listing:
    – Display information about the date of an item
    – Display URL and Processor if available

    - User Account:
    – Enable/Disable Login Popup
    – Add Video/Playlist to Favorites
    – Remove from Favorites
    – Create Playlist
    – Add to Playlist
    – Enable/Disable Adult Content (in settings page)
    – Automatically add video to History playlist (if it already exists, moves it to top)
    – Set if new playlists should be private or public (History playlist is by default private and can't change in the plugin)

    - Search (needs external keyboard)

Installation: Download the zip archive (Download) and put it in the normal place for plugins.
Note: The plugin will be added soon to the repository once andoma can.

    FAQ
    1. Live Streams from playlists are supported in Showtime?
Yes they are, but they should be in rtmp protocol, there is no support for mms or http live streaming in Showtime. You can watch even TV Channels added from other Navi-X user but I'll
not tell you where, search Navi-X and you might find it.

    2. There are some sections that says "XBMC Only", I can't use them in Showtime?
Some of them you can, those entries are labelled like that because the videos contained in those playlists are rtmp link, that XBMC supports while other platforms can't support,
but Showtime supports it and you can use it as well, you're free to navigate these playlists.

    3. There are some sections that says "Boxee Only", I can't use them in Showtime?
During development, I faced myself with some playlists labelled like these and some of them didn't work since the feature behind that makes the playlist only supportable for Boxee
is the HTML support that Showtime can't support, you might try these playlists but most possibly the plugin will not be able to get you the playlist, in these cases you'll get an empty
    playlist.

    4. You talk about Processors in this plugin several time, what are they?
    Well to quote from http://www.navixtreme.com/:
"The purpose of the processor is to function as an online plugin for Navi-X which produces media playback parameters for a single item,
normally starting with only the URL of the web page which contains the item. In other words, if a web page has a flash player embedded in it,
the processor teaches Navi-X how to emulate that site's flash player to get the media in the page to play in Showtime."

    5. When I logged in the first time to Navi-X server, was added some few playlists to my account what should I know about it?
These created playlists pretend to make easier and better your experience in Navi-X plugin for Showtime. For your privacy, any playlist created by the plugin are saved as Private,
it means only you can access those, if you want you might change it in navi-xtreme verified user media.
Currently, these are the playlists created automatically by the plugin:
    - Favorites: Keeps a list of items that you marked as Favorite

    - History: List in which is added a video when you select a video to play and it starts playing, if it gives any error from the Processor part it will be discarded.
NOTE: Video links that don't play too due to lack of support from Showtime are added too automatically (no way to check it in current Showtime's API)
NOTE 2: If you play a video that was added already to the playlist History, the plugin will remove the one that exist and insert a new one on top of playlist,
    creating a fresh copy.

    6. What is the status of WatchTV plugin?
With this new plugin, WatchTV plugin became obsoleted, there's no reason to use anymore the system that WatchTV provided, in this plugin you can watch too Live Streams normally and with
the advantage of viewing those that were added by other users without having work of setting up a server or using a keyboard to enter a link.

    7. Where can I find facanferff to talk about Showtime?
facanferff is sometimes in Efnet on channel #showtime, you might try to find him there. There will be there some other helpful people ready to assist you.

    8. How can I give feedback, suggest or report bugs?
To report bugs you can create a ticket in the official bug tracking managed by facanferff and running in andoma's website (Navi-X – Overview – Home Theater System).

REQUIRES Showtime 3.5.212 – Read FAQ please

A new version for the Youtube plugin for Showtime is now available. It contains some few features many users requested while other features are always a good addition, let’s see the changelog so you may have an idea of what to find new in it:

    - Add: Show Feeds
    - Add: Sort feeds (published, relevance, views, rating, position, comments, duration and title)
    - Add: Filter Channel Feeds by Type
    - Add: Filter Show Feeds by Genre
    - Add: Filter Show Feeds by Region
    - Add: Filter Movie Feeds by Genre
    - Add: Filter Movie Feeds by Region
    - Add: Filter Standard Feeds by Hungary region
    - Add: Live Feeds
    - Add: Background support (can be enabled via Settings page)
    - Add: Set minimum resolution to play
    - Add: Filter Movie Feeds by Language
    - Enhancement: Only show free content in Movie Feeds
    - Enhancement: If it is not possible to get the original video link(s), try to get an error message
    - Enhancement: Use API version 2.1, it allows Google users that don’t have a Youtube channel to use some features of Youtube
    - Enhancement: Upon Youtube entrance show Login popup if setting enabled, if user does not authenticate there he will not have access to features exclusive for Youtube users
    - Enhancement: Show Message Alert when user uses an action (e.g. like a video, add to favorites, …)

There are some points I want to inform you:
    1. Sort Feeds is only available in Video and Playlists feeds.
    2. Live Feeds include all feeds in Youtube API in this topic, but take note that Showtime doesn’t support YET HTTP Live Streaming, because of that, while you can navigate the feed called “Live Now” you’ll get error 400 when clicking to play. You may ask why I leave something not functional. Well, that’s a good question and the answer is quite simple too, the way Youtube plugin is built to get the video links, it works too for Live Streams, so we have the Live Streams links, only Showtime doesn’t support them at the moment. That means, that once Showtime starts supporting those links, there’s no need to release a new version, this will automatically be compatible, unless if Youtube makes crucial changes in the way videos work.
    3. The option “Lowest resolution” may be of great interest since with that you can automatically bypass video links in, for example, 240p or 360p and focus on the really good ones.
    4. This version restricts movies to free ones, the reason is simple, the plugin can’t make rentals so there’s no need to have those listed.

Installation: Available in Repository, in Start Page of Showtime click the puzzle icon in top right, click Available, click Youtube, click Install, voilá! You have the plugin installed, quite simple yes? Now it’s time of the real fun!

A special thanks to Tyrant for testing development builds.

    FAQ:
    1. I get error ‘Your version of Showtime is outdated for this plugin. Look at Showtime Download for a new build of it.’, what I need to do?
Simply follow the link to download the latest build of Showtime.

    2. Where can I find facanferff?
He is available some times a day in IRC, EFNet, channel #showtime. There you can find helpful people that will be able to assist you, including the creator of Showtime, andoma.

    3. Where can I report bugs and suggest features?
Coming soon. (Will be updated when it is available)

    4. There’s a way to support the developer?
Yes, there is, the simplest and the one that doesn’t even cost you money is like the plugin for the contest.

    FEATURES:

    • Can unpack any PS3 firmwares dev_flash.

    • a console is built into the program showing you the exact log a cmd would.
    • Can Decrypt PS3/PSP retail PKG files (Signed by sony installable via OFW).
    • Can readself of, Appldr, lv0, lv1ldr, lv2ldr, isoldr, EBOOT.BIN or if any of the things that you want to read are not listed on a button you can run a custom command to do it, for example: aim_spu_module.self just type that in where it says input and it will read it. So any file that is possible to use via readself, can be done in a fast manor 1-2 sec.

    HOW TO USE:

Lets use a example: If you want to unpack a ps3 update just get the PS3UPDAT.PUP
(Don’t change the name of any file in ps3 FW keep original) and put in tool folder, run
my program click unpack and it will unpack it.

so like if you want to fix tar make sure the update_files.tar stays the same name and put in the main folder where program is located. same for anyfile keep the original name. So it’s pretty simpe just drag the file that you want the tool to do something with and keep the original name.

Here is a video I made (I am pretty bad a videos) to help it’ a tutorial that covers everything. If some one else could make a better one that would be awesome.
THIS VIDEO IS FOR THE BETA VERSION. STILL HELPFULL

    NOTES:

PS3Tools GUI Edition will create two new files for the Core_os_package. “decrypted_core_os” and “CORE_OS_PACKAGE_ENCRYPTED.pkg” don’t change the name of the decrypted one or else you won’t be able to encrypt it
