• Microsoft Mystery Event – Xbox Surface

    PS3 Hacks, Xbox 360 Hacks , 18.06.2012

    Many think that this years E3 sucked and Microsoft really didn’t show much, or give us anything to be excited about, but they are having a show in less than three hours of this post and the rumours circulating this event is something called “Xbox Surface”, here is a few images of spec sheets, followed by a link to watch the event :)

      unfortunalely, due to the name (surface) it reminds me of microsoft surface that has yet to be available to regular customers.
      i hope this device isnt a business only product and hope that it will integrate with surface well if/when it ever comes out for mass release

      And which of those spec sheets is correct because both of them are different, one lists 5GB RAM and a lower spec GPU on it, judging by the specs alone its not going to be a cheap product so if this is the microsoft attempt to get in to the handheld market this isn't going to work, this sounds more like a business device than anything actually related to consumer gaming.

      one is the base unit and the other is the controller

      Yes but that doesn't answer my question, they basically look like 2 different spec sheets for the same device as i find it unlikely that the controller would have or need 4GB of RAM and a high end GPU :P

      Ergo 2 sheets for the same device listing different specs, one of them could be older which is is more likely

      It sounds like a more Powerful clone of WiiU.

      Rumours have it that the Kinnect 2 needs 4GB ram, so the 5GB ram sounds about right.

      Yeah it does sound like that. I guess will just have to wait 2 and half more hours:/ Wondering wait it will be maybe a package deal with a xbox 720 and a tablet which will connect on that smart class thing or whatever. I don't know wtf I just said like usual I'm high as ****.

      And the differences in the GPU

      Hence why i think one is actually an older spec sheet, the bottom looks like a newer GPU core is being used and its better presented so i would be more inclined to go with the second image

      This "Live Stream" is crap. It's actually a "Live Speculating About The Microsoft Event" Show...
      It's time for me to go to bed since there's not going to be anything interesting on the Live Stream.

      Funny thing my GF asked me a few days ago to pick a Tablet for her she could use at the University.
      Now I think this could be a good choice.

      But does anybody know anything about a release Date yet?

      I like it, it's a Tablet but it also has a keyboard like the Asus eee pad transformer. I hope it's priced reasonably.

      the only down side is the AMD Gpu
      if they were to use Nvidia like the first Xbox non of the heat problems (RROD) would have been occurring in the 360
      now with the 720 , surface or what ever they will call it.

      The spec sheets say the clock speed is at 3ghz, I can't imagine the battery lasts longer than a few minutes .
