I don't see a reason to own a Vita right now.

The PS One emulator -- and every other emulator for that matter except the N64 emulator -- on the PSP is more than sufficient to satisfy my retro gaming needs. I also don't think any Vita games are properly taking advantage of the system's hardware which is also a curse that plagued the PS3. Right now, the purchase does not seem justified in any way.

I have never wanted a Vita. They just don't appeal to me, at all. Yuck.

For "someone who has" a VITA, this sound great, when I get home I will have to get this, Now at lunch I can get some retro gaming on, and about time they made it possible to select with the up down buttons, it was kind of different having to scroll

I like the vitas hardware very much. I dont own one but I will once its homebrew enabled like the psp is. As for the games theres only one game I would like to play and thats not justifiable for the purchase at the moment. Great to hear that sony finally delivered on their promise with the ps1 compatibility though

hopeless, rereleasing old games won't help sales, not alot would play those titles on a powerful unit even if we can rip them from our disc,

I've seen the flash storage prices and these games will just fill it up,4gb for the price of a 32 micro sd and a 32gb for the price of a 64gb sandisk, its hard to justify their memory cards.

any news about ps2 emulation?

According to Rockmancorner link: You are able to play Rockman 1-4 Complete games on it. I wont because PS Vita is poorly in sale no thanks.

How's this implemented? .ISO on memcard?
Or do you have to download (and pay) from PSN those games that you already have?

Sorry about the slight off topic, I am just wondering can we convert PS1 game to PKG format? I am kinda surprise that one has done it. I mean, I am fully aware that PS1 title are in PSN and we can DL and install them in CFW. But what I mean is existing PS1 disc games, copying to PC and converting it to PKG and install them in XMB.

The main reason is about the check for the file iso bin edat. One tool to decrypt was release fews weeks ago and Sandungas made nice documentation about this file on the wiki but there are still fews things to be done before it s possible.
After that, probably the same tools used on PSP can be used for creating our own ps1 games.
It s probably the same problem about the minis and psp games.

DEFAULTDNB, that video was nice, i don t understand if it s really working or if it was an idea to do.
But Bubles games.. i think it s possible to do manually from CFW.

Ada Love Lace apparently it is really working, any PS1 game you download but dont install on PS3, can be transferred to vita.

I don t have VITA to test but from what i remember, to have bubbles games you can found infos on the wiki:

http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/PARAM...r_HDD_contents

It s PP category and there other table to know the required parameters on SFO.

For the install part, since it will not be from PKG but from internet, there are a way explained on the Sandungas top rated thread on Hax (but when Sandungas explained it, i admit to don t have "liked" it because i didn t thought about that and i was wrong about PP and the bubble theory)

If it s "easy" as i think and if i was the lucky owner of PS VITA, it s something i ll try for couple of hours. One other problem might be the PS3 and the FW min the PS VITA is expecting (the video did not tell if the PS3 was on 4.20 or around but most likely)
But for that s also there are some solutions.

I just hitted the like button, because Sony has to change their ways and understand something that's very simple:

1) Vita has a poor game catalogue
2) Vita is Life
3) They suck at Latin
4) They manage to **** even more things up!! what kind of sorcery they use?!!?

/rant end

For the bubble part, there are more infos on the 183 post of this thread:
http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?p=366802

But even it might be possible to reproduce it for PS VITA from ps3 (with 2 ps3 or with flasher for update/downgrade or DEX in the case of 3,55 FW is not possible) one thing is to install the game, an other is to make it working.
For `PSP, you can transfer your PS1 PSN game from usb (let s use the case of loosing the activation after QA), and include before or after the keys.bin file.
The problem already is to have a valid keys.bin (probably unique per game & account), On PSP you can bypass some part (related to account user) of it with simple LCFW but not in PS VITA ( and the type of file is probably much more elaborated )
There are also other check when using export for PSP but there are not important.
If anyone have knowledge about the algorithm for keys.bin (for what i read, it was not really reversed on PSP and a generic file was used/ or in other case just bypass) it ll be nice to have such information on the wiki (and to correct/erase/complete the part of it on the eboot.pbp page/ talk page)
